00:03My life before the social media was completely different.
00:06I mainly dedicated myself to acting.
00:11I had to act since I was very little.
00:14My life was basically dedicated to television,
00:21which is one of the traditional media.
00:25It was a dream that I always had since I was very little,
00:28impulsed by my mother.
00:31And in my head I always thought
00:32this is what I'm going to do all my life.
00:35To be in television.
00:37I didn't know if I was only acting,
00:37because I also had the opportunity to present
00:39in a infant program called Bichos.
00:42But I saw me doing, at least in traditional media,
00:46all my life.
00:47Until it started to come out
00:53this topic of making social media,
00:57when I started doing it,
00:59it was really not a very famous topic.
01:04People didn't have much knowledge.
01:07But since I was very little,
01:09I was a lover of editing videos.
01:11My family was a hobby.
01:14I was a little kid in my house with my brother,
01:17with my grandparents.
01:18And then when I started working on YouTube,
01:23which were the first platforms that I could use content,
01:27it started to call a lot of attention
01:30and then I started working on social media.
01:40It was a really complicated one,
01:42because you had become a little bit of things.
01:45You could have done some things.
01:47And then I started doing meetings.
01:50In my life,
01:51So, I'd like to go to social media.
01:52You were doing some things that I was searching for?
01:58And then I was doing something to do.
02:00It was hard to do with me.
02:02in a infantil where they ask me a year without working on television because it's a program
02:10that needs to repeat these episodes that we recorded in infantil, so they needed to
02:18take a look at the image of the protagonists, so they asked us to be a year without working
02:24but as this issue of the social media and everything was new, I didn't have much knowledge
02:30because it wasn't included in all the contracts, so I didn't have much to do with social media
02:35so this year, when I could not be able to do casting, I could not be able to work on
02:38television
02:39aparte, they didn't pay me, I said, well, I'm going to make videos and I'm going to make social media
02:45because it's the only thing I can legally do, I remember that when I told my mom
02:51what I was going to do and what I was going to do, she told me, like, what are you
02:55talking about
02:55what are you talking about, what are you talking about, what are you talking about
02:59and then, it was like my only alternative in that moment and as I always liked to edit,
03:05I liked to grab, I liked to do it, so I started to make it full.
03:09My first video of all the social media that I made for everything was a video on YouTube
03:15that I did making some floreros with bottles of wine.
03:21The video seems funny, but it's something that I didn't do in this moment in my life,
03:27but in that moment it was like what happened to me.
03:29Basically, one of the people I met was Yuya and she did manuals and things like that,
03:35and I liked to do it too, so I decided to do that.
03:38My first video was just like that, decorando bottles of wine.
03:43What did you do?
03:53Well, I mean, in itself, the work I was already doing, but I remember that
04:00I had six months, I had six months in which really my videos didn't have so much impact,
04:07I didn't have any numbers that told me, you could dedicate to that.
04:12And I had six months working and probing things.
04:16And I remember that six months, my videos began to release.
04:21The people who were using internet in that moment
04:25were not the same that I saw in the television.
04:27Ahorita I felt like everyone had internet.
04:28I remember that I was doing the nocturne, and then I got to see my subscribers,
04:33like the people who were using more content, and it was very difficult to do the two things.
04:39I remember that I slept three hours a day.
04:41And then I said, no, I'm going to stop acting, because acting took me a lot of time,
04:46and I'm going to dedicate to doing this, which is the content for internet,
04:51because I was passionate about it, and I felt that the internet could be more me.
04:55Finally, when you do the television, people care about your character,
04:59but here I had the possibility of showing people who I was first time,
05:03who I was, because all the content always turned around my life,
05:07the things that I do, what I do, what I think,
05:11and I felt that it was much more beautiful to have a connection with the people that I followed.
05:15So that I took the decision, when I arrived to my subscribers,
05:18to leave me from the television and dedicar me 100% to the networks.
05:29Well, it's very difficult.
05:32One of the main challenges of creating content is that
05:36the social networks evolve a lot.
05:39Every day, they evolve.
05:41They come new social networks,
05:43they come new trends,
05:44they come new ways to edit.
05:46When I started, the social networks were completely different,
05:50to 180 degrees, to what it is now.
05:53Ahorita is much more easy to create content in my time.
05:57I feel old saying this.
05:59One had to be editor, camarógrafo,
06:01one had to be able to use editing programs,
06:03one had to be able to illuminate,
06:05one had to be able to use these cameras.
06:08Now you, with a phone,
06:09you can do everything.
06:10You just need a phone.
06:12You need a phone.
06:13That's very nice.
06:14Ahorita is more practical.
06:15And that's what I have opened the doors,
06:16so that more people can do content.
06:18And that's what I like.
06:19That more people can talk.
06:21And I always ask,
06:23what is what I have to do if I want to create content?
06:28I always feel that important to me is that you start speaking
06:34about your life and your experiences
06:37so that more people can identify with you,
06:39but of a way very honest.
06:41I always have shared things of my life
06:44from a very genuine way,
06:45such as health,
06:47when I met my father,
06:48about my sexuality,
06:50now that I live in another country,
06:51about my process as a migraine,
06:53and I find more people that identify with the processes
06:57that I have been in the past,
06:58and that's finally the people that I follow in the moment.
07:02Because the followers are all the time,
07:04you win, you lose, lose, lose, lose,
07:07you lose, lose,
07:08you lose, you lose,
07:09but really you can keep keeping
07:11if you are sharing something
07:13so that people can identify with you
07:15with this topic.
07:16So,
07:18it's like a process of learning
07:20to evolve with the redes
07:21and to know what history
07:22you are going to tell.
07:31One advice that I always give to people
07:36who want to create content,
07:38because I've lived with friends,
07:40I've lived with creators of content
07:41that they don't create,
07:43like I've had experience
07:46in the topic of when you start creating content,
07:50and it's,
07:52you have to learn to be tolerated
07:54to the frustration.
07:57Because this is a medium
07:59that is very difficult to maintain
08:02with your same figures,
08:04with your same views,
08:05it's not linear.
08:07You will always find out
08:09with many challenges.
08:10So, of course,
08:10there are many people who say
08:11hoy tomo la decisión
08:13de empezar a crear contenido,
08:15ditú,
08:15en TikTok.
08:17Suben un video,
08:18y suben otro video,
08:19y de repente ese video
08:20les llegó a una cifra.
08:22Y luego suben el siguiente,
08:24y suben el siguiente,
08:25y no vuelve a pasar nada,
08:27el algoritmo ya no los favorece,
08:28se desaniman,
No importan
11:10se llama Mike's, Mike's Colombia.
