00:00Get your spread lines out today on a Tuesday, specifically in the association.
00:03We're back, Joe, and that means double-digit spreads in multiple spots tonight.
00:08That's okay.
00:09The NBA actually wants you to watch the games tonight, Joe.
00:127 o'clock start.
00:148 o'clock start.
00:16And 9.30.
00:17Anytime you get something started before 10 in the NBA as your third game,
00:20that's an absolute win.
00:22But let's head up to the garden and take a look.
00:24The Atlanta Hawks and the New York Knicks tied.
00:272-2 in their series.
00:28Pivotal, game number five.
00:30You take a look at the opening number.
00:32Minus 6.5 as a favorite towards the New York Knicks.
00:34Where does it sit this morning, Joe?
00:36Still 6.5 as a favorite for those New York Knicks.
00:39Low total, 213.5.
00:41Got to tell you, Joe, feels like the winner of this game.
00:44Probably going to take the series.
00:45What's the spread line here for Hawks-Knicks tonight?
00:48And this is the most it's been, Donnie, right?
00:516.5 is a big number here for a team that, listen,
00:55New York back against the wall down 2-1.
00:58Finally played with some urgency last game.
01:01Will they bring that same intensity here?
01:03They've been better at home.
01:05And Atlanta doesn't have the same kind of experience that the Knicks do.
01:09So looks like they adjusted correctly.
01:12But now it is time for Schneider and company here and the Hawks to adjust.
01:16This feels like a big number.
01:18But the interesting part, Donnie, is I thought I'd wake up and see
01:21at least more money one way or the other.
01:24This thing has been frozen at 6.5 since it opened.
01:28So, so far, not a whole lot of movement one way or the other.
01:32But it would not shock me if more defense and less offense in this game,
01:36maybe the total might be the best way to look at this one.
01:39Joe, the Sixers have been clubbed twice in this short series so far
01:43by the Celtics by 30-plus points.
01:45The Philadelphia 76ers welcomed Joel Embiid back in a pivotal game number four
01:48at home, and they got smacked in the head.
01:51Now we go back to Boston where Boston's probably going to close it out.
01:54However, Joe, what's the bet the Philadelphia 76ers in this game?
01:58Only getting about 20% of the ticket count here.
02:00This line, though, opened up at 11.5.
02:02Still sits at 11.5 and a total also low at 214.5.
02:07Sixers don't have a chance tonight.
02:08But, Joe, what's that spread line for you here?
02:12Listen, Donnie, they're not.
02:14If they play the way they did, welcoming Embiid back
02:17and forgetting that Maxie's on the court,
02:19you're not beating the Celtics with just Joel Embiid.
02:23You need everybody involved.
02:25The problem is that I got to go back to the garden here in Boston
02:29to be able to do this.
02:30I doubt very much they will, Donnie.
02:33And I also doubt very much that we're going to get to 214.5 points.
02:37I think defense is going to be the story here.
02:40I would look to fade maybe some team totals.
02:43I don't want to run to the window and lay 11.5.
02:45Ask OKC how that worked last night in a closeout spot.
02:49But I don't think we're getting a ton of points here tonight either.
02:54Nobody wants to bet the Philadelphia 76ers tonight, Joe.
02:58Hmm.
02:59That'd be something for our number two.
03:01Let's follow that one away.
03:02Trailblazers.
03:03San Antonio Spurs.
03:04The Spurs are at home tonight looking to do some final damage.
03:08Why?
03:08They're favored by 12.5 points here.
03:10And also a total of 215.5.
03:12Two double-digit spreads tonight out of three games in the association.
03:16Wemby is healthy.
03:17Back off to concussion and ready to roll tonight.
03:20But the question, Joe, is can they roll by 13-plus points?
03:23What's the spread line here?
03:25We saw it open at 11.5.
03:27Now at 12, 12.5, Wemby is back.
03:30And listen, this is what, when the first two games were in San Antonio, this is what we were looking
03:35at to begin with.
03:37But everyone hopped on this Portland trendy dog bandwagon here like they were going to be able to go toe
03:43-to-toe.
03:43Outside of the game, Wemby almost knocked himself out on the court there and had to leave.
03:49Outside of that, this has not been a particularly close series, Donnie, in these games that they have played.
03:55So I don't expect it to be close here in this one either.
03:58I do think it's 11, 11.5, 12 or more for a reason.
04:04Something tells me, yes, San Antonio puts their foot down and gets it done in a big way.
04:09NBA action last night.
04:11Saw three games on the docket.
04:13The Denver Nuggets and the Timberwolves.
04:15You had the Thunder, you had the Suns, you had the Magic, and you had the Pistons here, Joe.
04:19So where do we want to start?
04:20How about the Denver Nuggets and the T-Wolves?
04:22Let's get a little post-game action here before we go to the game itself.
04:28Well, weren't sure what we were going to get from Minnesota, right?
04:31And what we got was pretty much a blowout for the first three quarters.
04:35It seemed better, Donnie, than what it was because the reality is they took their foot off the gas in
04:41the fourth
04:42and still won by, what, 12 or 13 points.
04:45But you survived, Denver.
04:47Can they do it in game six is the question, Donnie.
04:50Let's hear the post-game press conference.
04:52Let's go.
04:52I thought it was a good three and a half quarters.
04:54I thought the end of the fourth was sloppy.
04:57But there's a lot of things to look at, you know, and say, hey, we improved on this.
05:03And I said this in the losses.
05:04And I guess it's just when you lose, nobody listens.
05:07But there are positives and losses.
05:09And you can find things to build on.
05:11And we did.
05:12And the group, you know, I thought they realized that there were some things that they could build on on
05:18both ends.
05:19And tonight was just a little bit better than it's been.
05:22And these series, they're long, man.
05:25And game six will be its own story.
05:27So we'll look at the things that we didn't do well.
05:30And I think there's some things they'll see that some of those kids they played off their bench played well.
05:34And so you might see more of them.
05:36So we have to prepare for what could happen.
05:38And then we got to prepare for what we know we can control.
05:40So what did you see from your group and what was causing all the problems holding on to the ball?
05:45Yeah, just kind of silly, you know, playing in a crowd, not handling the physicality well, you know, just trying
05:53to plow through it.
05:54But, you know, just kind of, yeah, just that and just a lot of just silly forced plays by guys
06:02trying to make something out of nothing.
06:05Do you think that was there any kind of a lack of urgency on their part?
06:09Did you feel it?
06:10No, I didn't feel a lack of urgency.
06:12I mean, we started the game a beat slow, but I didn't think there was a lack of urgency.
06:17Minnesota leads the series still 3-2, which means Minnesota's going to have a home game in their own building.
06:22And if they lose that, they still get a game number 7 in Denver.
06:24Joe, I remember you saying yesterday, wait a second, Denver Nuggets are actually plus money to win this series.
06:29Better grab that now, because if you woke up this morning and go, let me place a wager on those
06:34Nuggets,
06:34Vandals got them at minus 154 right now, Joe.
06:38Yeah, we said it.
06:39Now's the time here.
06:40And, you know, listen, it didn't shock me.
06:42We had said, Donnie, it wouldn't shock me if Minnesota punts on this game,
06:46because we all know it's going to come back to game 6 in Minnesota.
06:49If they don't win that one, then Denver wins game 6 and game 7 at home, and the series is
06:57over.
06:58And Nas Reed, by the way, twisted his ankle, so that could be another starter they might be down there
07:04for game 6.
07:05We'll have to keep an eye on that.
07:07You know, it doesn't need any more starters.
07:08It's the Phoenix Suns last night, but good teams win, Joe.
07:12Great teams cover the Thunder, 131-122 over the Suns.
07:16Told you to take the Suns at double digits.
07:18They get the cover.
07:19Let's go to the postgame press conference here after the sweep by OKC.
07:23Shea, third straight year, you guys got a sweep in the first round.
07:26What kind of sense of satisfaction comes with the sweep?
07:32It is a really good feeling.
07:35Just for, like, confidence-wise as a group, it's good to get, like, the playoff run started off that way.
07:45It, like, it's just important to get off to a good foot.
07:48Like, you never know what can happen, and usually the later you go, the better the team, so the series
07:52don't get like that.
07:53But you want to give yourself as many days that you can rest, and the more you can sweep, the
07:59better off, and the more days you have to rest.
08:01So it's pretty important.
08:02I mean, you can't say anything without, you know, bringing up Shea.
08:06You know, he's the MVP of the league, and he's playing the best basketball in the league for the past
08:10two years.
08:13Mixed with, you know, guys that know their role, some seasoned vets that, you know, they're relentless.
08:19Like I said, with that chemistry, the communication, you know, it's on 100%.
08:25And when the bench comes in, they get better sometimes.
08:29It's like reinforcement.
08:30It's not subs.
08:32And, you know, they have all the answers to the test.
08:36They've been tested together, and they've been together for years.
08:39So that's an advantage.
08:42All right, Joe.
08:43Let's move on to another series last night, which saw the Magic knock off the Pistons in a game that
08:48may be played in 1991.
08:5094-88.
08:51Joe, what happened to your Pistons last night?
08:55Terrible, Donnie.
08:56They had a 10-point lead at one point in the second quarter, and then they gave that up and
09:01never led again for the rest of the way.
09:04This team is, they don't have any scoring.
09:06It is beyond me how Jalen Dern has gone to MIA in this spot, the number two score on a
09:12team.
09:13And if it ain't Cade Cunningham, apparently it ain't happening on this team.
09:17And that's a real problem against an eight seed here in the East.
09:22The Pistons are a one seed.
09:24Magic are the eight seed.
09:25The Pistons scored 17 points in the third and 19 in the fourth.
09:28Ouch!
09:29That's terrible, people.
09:30I tell you what's not terrible.
09:31Hour number two is coming up next.
09:33Right back out of here on the early line.
09:36Tuesday morning, Sports Grid Network.
09:37Donnie right side.
09:38Joe Ranieri welcoming Kevin Walsh, rising and grinding, having fun.
09:42Different participants on Pro Football Today.
09:45Now he comes on the early line.
09:46It feels good.
09:47What a work week we got set up for you, Kev.
09:49How we doing?
09:50We're doing good.
09:51We're doing good.
09:52Is today like a Game of Thrones-themed day?
09:57I just, I don't, I'm not, like, I'll be honest.
10:01Game of Thrones had that great run.
10:03Everyone was like, I'm done with Game of Thrones after the finale.
10:06And then they've made like four different versions since that everyone's watched other than me.
10:11I thought when people said they were done with Game of Thrones, I thought they meant it.
10:14I don't feel like they meant it.
10:16I'm done with Game of Thrones.
10:17I don't, I never watched Game of Thrones one time.
10:19I'll fight against it.
10:20Never watched Breaking Bad either.
10:21Don't get into it either.
10:22That's not what I'm worried about.
10:23I'm worried about the NBA and I'm worried about fading teams in the NBA.
10:27But by the way, Kevin, I got a question for you.
10:29I don't know if many people saw this coming.
10:31The Detroit Pistons finally get there as the number one overall seed.
10:35They look like they stink, Kevin.
10:36Give me a little synopsis of the Pistons.
10:38And now the Sixer fans themselves are like, man, if we could have just avoided Boston, we would have smoked
10:43the Pistons at this point.
10:44Is that how bad the Pistons are?
10:45I think for Detroit, you were supposed to have two all-star level guys and you have one best conference
10:58level guy, best player in the conference level guy in Cade Cunningham.
11:02And that is it.
11:05Jalen Duren, I don't know what's going on.
11:09And you know it's bad when people are like, he's only 22.
11:13They're the one seed.
11:15He could be 12.
11:16He averaged 20 and 11 in the regular season.
11:21And because a lot of it is dunks, he shot 65% from the floor.
11:27We are four games into this series.
11:29He has yet to record a double-double.
11:32He has not scored more than 12 points.
11:35He has yet to grab 10 rebounds.
11:38He is shooting under 50% from the floor.
11:42It is bad, bad right now for Jalen Duren.
11:47And I know some of the final scores are, you know, pulled away a little bit more.
11:54Games three and four are one-possession games in the fourth quarter.
11:59And that is with Cade Cunningham feeling like the only Detroit Piston who is showing up for the most part
12:09here.
12:10A sore Thompson finished top three in defensive player of the year.
12:14And he feels like he'll be a part of a recalibration coming for Detroit.
12:20You do not win 60 games as be the one seed, get eliminated in round one without recalibration.
12:28You have to, have to, have to look in the mirror unless they can complete a major comeback here.
12:35He looks disinterested too, which it's kind of like he got punched in the mouth and he has no idea
12:41how to respond.
12:42And it's amazing what Orlando has done to him.
12:45What about what we saw from Minnesota last night?
12:49Are we thinking they got a shot, they have to win game six, or if they don't win that, it's
12:54pretty much over.
12:55You know, it's, it's, it's interesting.
12:58Minnesota has been really fun to watch in the early portions of this postseason.
13:05And they have a core who have routinely made the conference finals.
13:09And if they're not for all the injuries, I think they would have been able to give San Antonio a
13:15heck of a series and absolutely be more than capable of making what would be a third straight Western conference
13:22finals.
13:23But heading into yesterday's game, I thought Denver would complete the three, one comeback.
13:27And the books were, you could tell prepping for that as well.
13:34The Nuggets were only plus 125 to win that series heading into game number five with an 11 and a
13:42half point number.
13:43And you look now at the game six number six and a half.
13:47That is not small.
13:49I mean, for, I understand it's a road, you know, it's a road favorite upsets happen, but it would be
13:55a legitimate upset for Minnesota to win that basketball game.
13:58And again, game seven, you're talking about another 11 and a half point number, if not bigger, depending probably on
14:05how game six goes.
14:07Despite the three, one lead Minnesota had, I think it would be still unacceptable for Denver to lose.
14:14They lost their starting backcourt, including by far and away their best player in a series.
14:21Denver was already favored to win.
14:23The Nuggets should win this series.
14:27How about tonight, Kevin?
14:28Three games on the docket.
14:29Last night, I was upset.
14:30Not that I was going to watch the games, but these games were on too late.
14:33Tonight, Kevin, we got seven o'clock, eight o'clock and 930 tonight.
14:37Two teams in position to close out their series.
14:40That's the Boston Celtics.
14:41And that is also the San Antonio Spurs.
14:43But I want to ask you first about the game at eight o'clock tonight in the garden.
14:46Two, two series tied.
14:48Atlanta Hawks in town to take on the Knicks.
14:50And what I love too is the word leaking out.
14:52Mike Brown, you blow this series.
14:54You're probably out the door already.
14:56Knicks Hawks tonight.
14:57What do we got?
14:58Yeah, I can tell you that Mike Brown certainly believes that is true with the way he is coaching.
15:04I still really can't believe how he approached the end of game number four.
15:11Look, I think, you know, admittedly, when you have a bet on a certain prop, you have a more watchful
15:16eye.
15:17And I thought McCall Bridges could bounce back a little bit in game four.
15:21Now, if you would have said, hey, Bridges shot 75% from the field, I'd be like, perfect.
15:25We certainly made some money here.
15:27Instead, he played 19 minutes because Mike Brown, coaching for his career, up 20, instead of getting McCall Bridges in
15:36a rhythm, made him ride the bench.
15:39Mike Brown, coaching for his career, watched Jalen Brunson keel over with four minutes left, up 20, come out of
15:47a timeout and say, yeah, Brunson, get back out there.
15:49We got to close the deal.
15:52No, that's not what's supposed to be happening here.
15:55But that's where we are at with Mike Brown.
15:57It makes the Knicks feel a little unsettling.
16:00The one thing that I'm very interested in, and I know there are some very, you know, what I find
16:07to be enjoyable debates about Brunson's usage right now for New York,
16:11but he has a points prop at 26 and a half.
16:16Jalen Brunson points props in the postseason are usually much higher.
16:22While he has not had that type of series, it's not for the lack of trying.
16:28Kevin, 22 attempts, 26 attempts, 23 attempts.
16:31Jalen Brunson back home, snuck over this number in the first two games of this series.
16:37Might feel simple, but the Brunson props, Joe and Donnie, really, really sticking out to me.
16:4376ers Celtics early game, 11 and a half point spread.
16:46San Antonio late, 12 and a half.
16:47Does anybody extend, extend, extend?
16:50We'll find out tonight.
16:51Kevin, thanks for joining us today.
16:53We'll see you once again tomorrow on a Wednesday.
17:01Simple question here, Joe.
17:02Who's your dog of the day in the NBA?
17:05Three games tonight, which means there will be three underdogs.
17:07Is it the Philadelphia 76ers?
17:09Is it the Atlanta Hawks?
17:10Is it the Portland Trailblazers?
17:12Pretty even out there.
17:14And again, looks like nobody's wanting to give my Philadelphia 76ers a chance here.
17:19Hint, hint, Joe.
17:20How about that?
17:22Not a bad look, Donnie.
17:25I want to say Portland will leave it all out on the court here tonight, but I don't trust
17:32them to do so.
17:33But listen, I'm hoping this gets to seven with the Knicks and Atlanta, because I'll be all
17:38over Atlanta at that point.
17:40But right now it's six and a half and it is not moved.
17:45It feels like, yeah, this is going to be a, this is going to be a fight, a game of
17:50adjustments.
17:51And like Kevin just told us, not a whole lot of trust in Mike Brown's adjustments here.
17:56So Quinn Schneider and maybe Atlanta has enough left in the tank.
17:59Maybe to pull out the outright upset.
18:02Seven, eight and nine 30 tonight.
18:04Triple header in the association.
18:05Now to Tuesday, it's time to get down with some best bets here.
18:08Here's bye, bye, bye.
18:10I'm headed over to Boston.
18:11It's going to be a tea party tonight.
18:13Boston might win and close out my Philadelphia 76ers, but the Sixers will be able to pick a
18:17fight tonight.
18:18This line opened up at 11 and a half in the morning.
18:20It's still sits at 11 and a half, despite only 20% of the ticket count total coming in on
18:25the
18:25Philadelphia 76ers.
18:26So Joe, tonight's game, I might have to turn it off in the first quarter, second quarter
18:30because the Sixers might not be competitive, but, and that final score, they'll be within
18:34double digits here.
18:36Joel Embiid, Kelly Oubre, Tyrese Maxey, DJ Edgecombe.
18:40If you're going to let me down one last time, just make sure you do it with losing under double
18:45digits as the final score.
18:46Sixers for me, Joe, plus 11 and a half.
18:48Why?
18:49Nobody wants to bet the Sixers.
18:50That's exactly why I'm betting the Sixers tonight, Joe.
18:54Well, listen, work last night with Phoenix.
18:56Back door was wide open.
18:57Phoenix ran right through it.
18:59Could very well happen again here tonight with the Sixers, but I wouldn't expect any sort
19:04of crazy upset happening there.
19:07Maxey, wake up tonight.
19:09Shoot your shot, kid.
19:10And the way we go into PME coming up next, radio on the early line.
19:13It's fun.
19:14That's why we do it.
19:16It's that time again on a Tuesday.
19:18Prediction Markets Edge right here on the early line.
19:20It's on.
19:21He writes out.
19:21It's Joe.
19:21We're near the next half hour.
19:23A different way to invest your funds here with the goal, Joe.
19:25Go in a stock market-like approach to make more money.
19:28That's all we ask.
19:30That's all we ask, Andy.
19:31We got a lot of opportunities here.
19:33Certainly now that the round one in the playoffs, both the NHL and NBA, we got some close ones.
19:40And we've got some teams that might have to come back from big deficits.
19:45That means great opportunities in the prediction markets.
19:49Extending the series.
19:50Can they do that?
19:51And by the way, we talked about extending a series there with the Denver Nuggets.
19:54Looks like they're going to do that as the favorites now.
19:56But, Joe, three games in the association tonight, Joe.
19:59Madison Square Garden takes center stage.
20:01Let's go there.
20:02It's the Hawks and the Knicks.
20:04This series is tied 2-2.
20:06This is a huge game.
20:07Number five.
20:07Winner takes this.
20:08Just needs one more win out of game six and seven to clinch this series.
20:12If we take a look at Cal State on the prediction markets, just to win the game, Joe, New York
20:16is the favorite, trading at 68% right now.
20:19And the contract is actually at $0.70 for them to win outright, meaning a $100 investment pays back $1
20:25.43 if you believe the Knicks will win this game outright.
20:28A $0.32 ticket here on Atlanta, $100 investment pays back $313.
20:35Hawks, Knicks, in the Garden tonight, Joe, 8 p.m.
20:39Yeah, I got to tell you, Donnie.
20:41I think the best way to look at this game is to look at who this has been a terrible
20:47matchup for.
20:48And it's been a terrible matchup for Jalen Johnson because C.J. McCollum is pretty much taking over the offensive
20:56reins here in this series so far.
20:59He's the guy that's done the damage here.
21:01Jalen Johnson, I don't know.
21:04I mean, he's looking.
21:05I saw, what, 27 and a half points in assists.
21:08And he has been MIA, Donnie, mostly because the Knicks have done a great job with Ananobi and Carl Anthony
21:15Towns of making it very difficult for him to get anywhere even remotely close to getting those easy buckets.
21:22So, I don't know.
21:23If it ain't broke, I'm not going to fix it.
21:25I'm going to keep fading Jalen Johnson here, points and assists here moving forward.
21:31How about another Jalen?
21:32Jalen Brunson in this game.
21:33If you feel he can get 25-plus points right now in the Cal State marketplace, that $100 investment would
21:38pay back, Joe, $162.
21:4376ers and the Celtics tonight.
21:45Can they, talking about the Sixers, extend the series?
21:47Most people thought coming into it, they'd be lucky to get one game.
21:50They did get one game.
21:51And they were tied 1-1 heading back to Philadelphia.
21:54Boston won game number three.
21:55Trouts the Sixers at game number four.
21:57Even though Joel Embiid did come back.
21:59And tonight, monster favorites up there in the TD Garden.
22:02Boston on the Cal State marketplace trading, Joe, at 82% as the favorite here, which means an $0.83
22:10contract on the yes that the Celtics win this game.
22:13$100 investment only pays back $1.21.
22:15Shows you the type of game we might be expecting in Boston tonight.
22:19Hmm.
22:21Well, Boston notoriously, Donnie, takes their foot off the gas a lot, especially after blowout wins.
22:30And we have seen this now since 2020.
22:33I think in Boston winning by more than double digits.
22:37They're 11-24-1 against the number the next game.
22:42So basically, Donnie, they celebrate.
22:44They're like, ah, we're good to go.
22:46We're just going to destroy them.
22:47And then they take their foot off the gas the next game.
22:49And guess what?
22:50It's a lot closer than anybody thought it was going to be.
22:53So I'm with you.
22:55You mentioned it earlier.
22:56I'm backing you up here.
22:58I think Philly absolutely stays within this number.
23:01I don't think they win, but I think you should grab the point sooner rather than later.
23:06Yeah, I don't know if Joel Embiid is the focal point in this game.
23:09It makes a whole lot of sense because he did get a lot of minutes and was, you know,
23:11had a good game statistic-wise, but the Sixers got blown out.
23:14It's one of those things you look at and say, yeah, Max, he has to step up.
23:16We get that, but you're not getting any price reductions on 25 or 30 points.
23:20You've got to tell me right now, the Sixers being competitive and possibly winning this game,
23:24you've got to go down a couple pegs here.
23:26It's Vijay Edgecombe.
23:27Can he get 15 points in this game?
23:28If he does, Joe, a $100 investment pays back $278.
23:32You know Embiid's going to get his shots.
23:33You know Max he is, but those extra guys out there, should say the ancillary guys,
23:37they need to show up, and it's Vijay Edgecombe for me.
23:40Can he get to 15-plus points?
23:42That could be a key trigger here.
23:44Trailblazers and the Spurs.
23:45Another series that we just talked about, Boston and Philadelphia.
23:48The winner and the favorite can end the series.
23:50Same thing with the Trailblazers on the road to take on the San Antonio Spurs.
23:54Monster favorites on the Cousy marketplace, Joe.
23:57San Antonio currently trading at $0.84 to the contract.
24:00If they win this game, would pay back $120.
24:04Amazing.
24:05Favorites for Spurs probably close out the Trailblazers,
24:08but you can also take it on the spread line as well.
24:1012.5 points as the favorite.
24:12Currently trading, Joe, at an even $0.50.
24:16Yeah, and it feels, Ani, that even though the final scores have not been great,
24:22it feels like, oh, if you just looked at the scores, they've been blowouts.
24:26I don't know.
24:27They've been a lot more competitive and closer, I think, than people realize here
24:31with the Portland Trailblazers.
24:34Could the Spurs run away again with this?
24:37Absolutely.
24:38But again, your back is up against the wall.
24:41You're down three games to one.
24:42Nobody thought you'd even be in this spot to begin with.
24:45Would not shock me if Portland smacks them first in this game.
24:50Maybe look for Portland early, because I think, Donnie,
24:53if they're not anywhere in this game early,
24:55they're likely rolling over and not going to be in it late.
25:01Let's go.
25:02Prediction Markets Edge on the early line, closing it down in style
25:05by asking some questions on who's going to extend, Joe, some of their series,
25:09and more importantly, who's going to win some of these series.
25:11We just talked to Joe Cervanca and left off with who is going to win tonight
25:15between the New York Knicks and the Atlanta Hawks.
25:17Why?
25:17Because that's going to go a long way to determine who wins this series, Joe.
25:21And currently, the favorite tonight is the New York Knicks to win game number five.
25:25Therefore, they have the edge.
25:26So in the Cal State marketplace, a 70% chance that the New York Knicks win this series
25:31where it's currently sitting at, which means if you invest $100 on the Knicks
25:35to advance past round number one, that pays back $143.
25:38But, Joe, if you come in on those underdog, Atlanta Hawks,
25:43a $100 investment pays back $313 if they take the series.
25:49Yeah, so you got to game five is huge, right?
25:53We know this here.
25:54It looks like the Knicks have figured some things out.
25:57But I think the thing they figured out is they played with a sense of urgency, Donnie,
26:02that we had not seen prior.
26:03And I think that's where the experience comes in here.
26:06I think they're the rightful favorite here.
26:08They should be.
26:09They're the rightful series favorite.
26:11But I don't know that I would back Atlanta here,
26:15because I do think the Knicks win the series.
26:18I don't think it necessarily goes to seven games.
26:21So if I was going to do anything, instead of betting Atlanta in the series,
26:26I would bet Knicks in the series.
26:29But I would bet Atlanta and take the points tonight,
26:32because there's better value in Atlanta covering and staying within this number.
26:38But if they lose anyway, Donnie, I'm not getting any value by backing Atlanta in this series
26:45and thinking, you know, the price I'm going to buy now is going to be much worse
26:49if they lose this game tonight at the Garden, which they likely will.
26:54But, you know, losing the game and staying within six and a half, seven, two different markets.
27:00So Atlanta in the game with the points, but the series market,
27:03I don't see any reason to fade the Knicks here.
27:06Going on a three-game win streak.
27:08You know who's going to have to do that?
27:09That's the Detroit Pistons here.
27:11They're the number one seed going up against the eighth seed.
27:13And how about this?
27:14Orlando currently trading at 69% to win the series over the Detroit Pistons.
27:19Do you think the Pistons can come back as a one seed?
27:21They got all their metal.
27:23They're ready to go now, Joe.
27:24Well, $100 investment pays back $3.23.
27:26But anything you saw from the series so far
27:28doesn't show us that Detroit's going to win three games in a row,
27:31let alone the next game on the docket.
27:33But, Joe, that's why we have it here.
27:36Is there any chance that Detroit can come back?
27:37And is it worth a $100 investment on them to do so?
27:41No, it's not.
27:43I mean, first of all, game five, the line is already inflated.
27:46We've seen that, right?
27:49And I don't see that.
27:50And that tells me, Donnie, that the market is not necessarily –
27:54it's not a big enough, you know, move here for me to think that Detroit coming back
28:00is A, in the cards to win three straight games in a series where I've already watched them
28:06barely – they didn't even make 90 points, Donnie.
28:09It's very hard to win games in a postseason if you can't score here.
28:13So, I don't see any value.
28:15They're so overinflated right now, even with the game five number on the board.
28:21They can't stop turning the ball over.
28:24Yeah, Orlando, I hate to say it, is an eight seed.
28:27I guess there's better places to go here.
28:30I would save the money than thinking maybe now is the time to get in on Detroit.
28:34I don't see that happening.
28:36I think it likely ends in five.
28:38From a dog to a favorite here, Joe, we talked about that series between Minnesota and Denver.
28:42It's like, ooh, everybody's injured now.
28:44Can they come back from the series?
28:45They're still plus money.
28:46Way after last night, they're no longer plus money.
28:49Take a look at the Cal State marketplace right now.
28:50Denver is the favorite to win the series now over the Minnesota Timberwolves,
28:54currently trading at $0.58 on that yes contract.
28:58A $100 investment pays back $173.
29:00If you think Minnesota can win, they had one chance last night, weren't able to get it done.
29:04They'll get their best chance at home,
29:06but still with a lot of banged up players.
29:08If you feel Minnesota can win one out of the final two games, Joe,
29:11$100 investment on the Minnesota side does pay back plus money at $2.28.
29:17We told you yesterday it was all going to come down to game six in Minnesota,
29:21and the injuries continue to pile up.
29:25Nas Reed with an ankle injury is another issue now for Minnesota.
29:29We told you grab the plus money with Denver to win the series because if they won last night and
29:36they won by more than double digits,
29:38which they did, yeah, we're in the minus 150s, 160s here, and it's not good here.
29:46I don't believe Minnesota has got as currently constructed and healthy.
29:50They don't have enough to be able to even go home and win a game six.
29:54So last chance to get a reasonable price on Denver because if it goes to a game seven, Donnie,
30:01they're going to be a $2.50, $3 favorite one way or the other.
30:06And in this market, that means you'd have to pay 80 cents for a game seven.
