00:00Let's see what it's like to be a Yankee fan for a night.
00:03Okay.
00:03When there's nothing else other than some basketball and some hockey going on.
00:06Yeah.
00:08Let's see what a Yankee fan has to enjoy.
00:12Sure.
00:13These entitled, complaining, little, like, you know,
00:18and I know that you say that they're happy about the Mets,
00:20and maybe half of them are, maybe four of them are.
00:22No, they're definitely not.
00:23A lot of them are happy.
00:24Whatever.
00:25A lot of them.
00:25And it's fine, you know, if you're allowed.
00:27I have to sit there.
00:27I've got to watch Max Fried just dial it up, dial it up, dial it up, dial it up.
00:33And he's, you know, he's nibbling the corners.
00:35He's, you know, he's tapping the umpire saying, hey, that was a strike.
00:38Okay, here we go, a strike.
00:39You know, you got David Cohn just, you know,
00:41just talking platitudes about how great he is.
00:45And I knew he was good when he was in Atlanta,
00:48but watching him the last two years here for the Yankees,
00:51he's an amazing pitcher.
00:53And with an arsenal, as they were talking about last night, you know,
00:57seven different pitches and, you know, he's up there and he's just in total command.
01:01And then something happens that hasn't happened since the great Yankee teams
01:10that featured Yogi Berra and, of course, Mickey Mantle.
01:15And there was a time here where I mentioned that somebody could be compared
01:20maybe to a young Mickey Mantle.
01:22And people scoffed at that.
01:24They laughed at that.
01:26And then, lo and behold, Ben Rice comes through with a home run followed by Aaron Judge
01:35hitting a home run.
01:36And they do something that hasn't been done for the Yankees since Berra and Mantle.
01:43So, therefore, I am once again, once again validated.
01:48You're not validated if Ben Rice is Mickey Mantle.
01:51I'm just saying.
01:52He's got to be a Hall of Famer and in Monument Park to be Mickey Mantle.
01:56Dude, he just started his career just like when Mickey Mantle just started his career.
02:00Why can't he just be Ben Rice?
02:01Why can't you just say the guy?
02:04I'm not going to say he's Mickey Mantle.
02:06What a player he's turned out to be.
02:08It's been great.
02:08Oh, my God.
02:09And I'm like sitting there watching this going, this is, Sip, it's a 4-2 walk, you know,
02:15kind of just walk around, play good baseball, hit key home runs.
02:19Yep.
02:20You know, have a great pitching and performance.
02:22And you know what?
02:23They win.
02:24And then they just win some more.
02:26And then they win and they're the best team in the American League.
02:29And, I mean, it's just, I mean, I don't know what my dad was thinking.
02:32I know he hated the American League, so he made me into a National League fan.
02:36Yeah.
02:37I don't know, man.
02:38I got to tell you.
02:40It's just something about a consistent winner.
02:43And the Yankee fan will tell you, yeah, it's great, bud.
02:46It's been a long time since they won a World Series.
02:49A little entitled, you know what's, just keep your mouth shut, enjoy the game.
02:53I mean, God Almighty, what a, I mean, it's so enjoyable just to watch a team.
02:59Well, you're also, I mean, what you're comparing it to now is the worst team in baseball, comparing it to
03:05one of the best teams in baseball.
03:07Come on, yeah.
03:08So, I mean, it's a tough comparison right now.
03:10You've been here for years.
03:11I've been here for years.
03:12Yeah.
03:12You know, we haven't always worked together, but even prior to us working together, it was always the Yankees.
03:19The Yankees this, the Yankees that.
03:20And then in the offseason, Brian Cashman sucks.
03:23Yeah.
03:23You know, get rid of Aaron Boone.
03:25I mean, are you people out of your minds?
03:27Well, what is wrong with people?
03:28What is wrong with Yankee fans who feel that way?
03:32There's been a lot of staleness with them not getting over the hump with Brian Cashman.
03:37They ran it back with the same team.
03:37You're asking the question, and I'm giving you an answer, for God's sakes.
03:40There was a lot of staleness with Boone and Cashman.
03:43They felt like they weren't going to get over the hump, and they still might not with this group, and
03:47that's why they wanted to shake it up.
03:49And we even sat here and kind of agreed with that for a couple of years.
03:52But compared to what the Mets did this offseason, what the Yankees did this offseason, obviously the staleness was not
03:58a bad thing.
03:59And their staleness was a great thing so far.
04:01And they're going to get a couple of starting pitchers back.
04:03I don't know what they're going to do with all these guys.
04:05Well, you know how that works.
04:06It's depth.
04:07It's depth, and you've got to have a good general manager.
04:09He's in the future, and he sees things, and he keeps things consistent, and he keeps things solid.
04:16And the baseball, you see how many smiles are on this team's face?
04:19You see the joy that they're playing with?
04:22Do you see how they're high-fiving and hugging each other and bouncing through the dugout after they had a
04:27home run?
04:28I'm seeing it.
04:28I mean, I have to tell you, that was just – I'm not even a Yankee fan, and that was
04:33enjoyable.
