00:00I've had my locks since I was younger. It's a very big part of who I am. I feel like
00:05they're
00:06part of my identity and especially as black women, it's our crown. So I think I pull inspiration
00:12for my hairstyles from pictures that I see, old icons that I'm inspired by, like Billie Holiday
00:19with the flowers in her hair, Nina Simone. Also, my hairstylist, Tanisha, is amazing. She honestly
00:26knows how to do all this stuff that I don't know how to do myself. So I feel like she
00:33really brings out the vision. Yeah, her and Chrissy really keep me together. But I feel
00:39like that's where a lot of my hair spow comes from, as well as just trying to do a bunch
00:46of hairstyles on locks. Like our locks are very versatile as is. And when people know that
00:54you can do so much with your hair, if you have locks, you can do the long braids with
00:59beads on the end. Like today, I have a little bit of extensions. Like you can do it all. And
01:05that's what I try to show people that even if you have locks, they're so versatile and you
01:11can do a bunch of styles like everybody else.
