00:00I am gonna tell you the first line I ever got in Hollywood. I got a call to do Christina
00:06Aguilera
00:07for The Voice and I thought this is huge and I just got so scared. I had imposter syndrome and
00:15I was terrified. I turned up to The Voice and there was three hours for glam. For a long story
00:20short, I went in the last 20 minutes before the live show. My nerves was high. I was a wreck
00:25but
00:26I wasn't going to let it show. So she said, what do you want to do? And I said, why
00:29don't
00:30we try a wig? Because I thought this would be a really quick way to change it up, do something
00:35different, add a new look, you want to be remembered. And she said, I don't like wigs. And so I
00:41said, of course you don't, but in my head. And so I froze and the time was ticking. Tick
00:48tock, tick tock. And I felt like I was just going to have to go home because I felt paralyzed
00:54with fear. But then I came to myself and I had a moment where I thought about my kids.
01:00And I remember my friend saying to me, you didn't come this far to come this far. And
01:05that was like putting a cape on. I felt like I came back to myself and I said, let's just
01:10try these wigs. She said, okay. I put the wig on. She said, I like it. So I had 10
01:16minutes.
01:17She went off on the live show. I didn't know where I stood. The show finished. She walked
01:21over. She looked at me. She said, everyone likes your wig. And in that moment, I know
01:27I did it. So for anyone that ever has imposter syndrome, feels small, not good enough, or
01:35just not sure what they're doing next, never give up and never stop believing in yourself.
01:41And if there's one piece of advice I can give you is never take no for an answer. I've had
01:46way more no's than a bad yes. But you just keep going until you get the yes.
