00:00This is my dinner.
00:03Spirits, baby!
00:05It cost $12,000 to insure me for some reason.
00:08I can't move. I can't do anything.
00:10I can't even rock.
00:11But I am cozy.
00:39Hey, what's up? I'm Duncan.
00:41I'm Emilio.
00:42And we're in Relate.
00:44And we're on tour right now with Good Terms.
00:47We're playing The Beat Kitchen in Chicago.
00:51We're going to take a tour of the van. Let's hop in.
00:53So, you know, we've been touring for a couple of years now,
00:56and this is our baby.
00:58For most of the tours, I did the driving because I have terrible driving anxiety.
01:02But, you know, we're starting to be a little more responsible now.
01:05We got that commercial insurance policy.
01:08It turns out that it cost $12,000 to insure me for some reason.
01:12So this has been the first tour that I'm actually not allowed to drive.
01:16Zach right here, he's a little bit cheaper, but also very expensive to insure him.
01:21So, Tom, Emilio, and Diego are the drivers.
01:25And we are the princesses.
01:29So, this is our thermometer.
01:32Because the van does not have one.
01:33My mom got me this for Christmas, and I can't tell if that's $12, $71, or $2.
01:41So, it's not really that accurate, but it looks cool.
01:44And then we got, like, our snacks right here.
01:47It does look cool.
01:49Like, what?
01:49Like, dude, this is sick.
01:51It's like an air freshener.
01:53And so we got our snacks right here.
01:55So, like, we're a Costco family, Kirkland Signature.
01:59We found out pretty early on that, like, if you just go in the truck stop, you're going
02:03to spend $5 or $10 every single time.
02:07And we're all too poor for that.
02:09So, we go to Costco at the beginning of the run.
02:11And then, usually in the middle, we get, like, sandwich stuff.
02:13We got some...
02:16This is a cup of noodle.
02:17So, you take the cup, and you put hot water in it.
02:20And then...
02:21You're going to explain how to make a cup of noodles?
02:24But, yeah, we got, like, some healthy snacks because it's, like, you know, it's kind
02:27of hard to stay healthy when you're on tour.
02:30You know, so that's all important to all of us.
02:33So, we try to keep it healthy.
02:36And occasionally, we, like, get some food in, like, whatever city we're in.
02:39Like, last night, we were in Nashville.
02:41So, I think some of us went and got hot chicken.
02:43You went and got hot chicken, right?
02:45Well, I mean, you guys are eating this...
02:48Can we cuss?
02:49Alright.
02:50Keep that in there.
02:51You guys are eating this bullshit.
02:54This is my dinner.
02:57Spirits, baby!
02:59Are fu...
03:00We're eating bad boys in?
03:01I fucking call it good.
03:03Any more fucking questions?
03:05Emilio doesn't even smoke.
03:08No, I don't.
03:09I'm...
03:09I'm...
03:10Okay, well...
03:11Those are the looking for cigarettes.
03:13None of us smoke.
03:15I'm probably the worst dude to talk about this because I'm...
03:18If I'm not in the driver's seat, I'm sleeping.
03:21So...
03:22I'm gonna refer to Duncan on this one.
03:25He could probably explain a little better what a passenger princess does.
03:29Well, I mean, like, I've been in the back most of the tour.
03:31But, like, I sat up here today.
03:33And so, like, when Tom's up here or Zach, like, they're both really good about doing directions
03:39or, like, shifting the music, doing the vibe.
03:43Um...
03:43We definitely missed a couple of exits and truck stops and stuff when I was up here earlier.
03:49Because I was just playing on my phone the whole time.
03:53So, yeah, usually the passenger, like, they're in charge of getting us there and, you know,
03:58kind of being second set of eyes, right?
04:00Like, you know, like, oh, like, you know, you gotta stop sign up here.
04:03Or, like, hey man, the speed limit's actually, like, 65, not 90.
04:07And that's usually the responsibility.
04:11Uh...
04:11And I think it turns out that both you and I don't really sit up here very much.
04:16But there was a drive we did where it was you and I overnight.
04:20That was a little bit rough, man.
04:22Like, that...
04:22We have ADHD, so...
04:24I don't know what HD is, but I got 80 of them.
04:28You got that?
04:31Now, this is the middle bench.
04:33And this is Zach right here eating the churro popcorners.
04:37Hello!
04:38And so, like, if you're sitting in the middle bench...
04:41I'm Emilio, too.
04:42I don't know if...
04:43Did you get that in the beginning?
04:44Okay.
04:45If you're sitting in the middle bench, like, this is the...
04:47The fun bench.
04:48Well, it's the most, like, not comfy bench.
04:51Like, the back bench is more comfy.
04:53Hey, there's no seatbelt here for this one.
04:54Whoa, whoa!
04:55Hey, hey!
04:56There is a seatbelt here, but we don't usually have someone sitting here.
05:00And whenever we're driving, there is a seatbelt attached.
05:03Zach!
05:04I was just kidding.
05:05There's a seatbelt.
05:05Progressive might see this.
05:08Um...
05:08You know, in this corner, usually that's, like, if you're working on your computer, that's
05:11the good corner to be in.
05:12We kind of, like, prioritize whoever's working on something to get, like, the better seats.
05:16This is definitely the worst seat.
05:18Worst seat in the house.
05:18You know, because it's, like, not very much room here.
05:22And...
05:22It's got, like, shit here.
05:23It's a little bit scary.
05:25It's...
05:25You know, it's an old van.
05:27It's a little bit dirty.
05:27It's...
05:28It's not...
05:29Gross, Emilio.
05:32Yeah, and then there's kind of, like, this metal bar is kind of, you know, coming through
05:36in the seat.
05:36So it's a little uncomfy here.
05:39Um...
05:39But, you know, it's not as bad as having responsibility up here.
05:43So we like it.
05:44That's Relate approved.
05:45Yeah, this is, like, the getting work done kind of bench.
05:47It is, yeah.
05:49Now, Emilio will show you into the back.
05:52This is where I put in my work.
05:54So...
05:54Back here...
05:57This is where everybody can kind of, like, get some ballroom.
06:01Lay down.
06:02Almost stand up.
06:04If you're a short king like me.
06:07Um...
06:08This is the coolest spot.
06:10So...
06:10A couple cool things.
06:12Kind of just specific to me.
06:14No one else could fit in.
06:16Um...
06:17But, I have this secret spot.
06:19Where I just kind of just pop in here.
06:22Ah...
06:24And I...
06:25Will just lay here.
06:27And I can't move.
06:29I can't do anything.
06:30I can't even rock.
06:32But, I am cozy.
06:34So I'll just go comatose for, like...
06:37Three, four hours at a time.
06:40Ah...
06:40So that's sick.
06:42Um...
06:43We also have a built-in fridge.
06:44Up here.
06:46So anytime we want to get a cold one.
06:49See, we got...
06:50Sugar-free Red Bull.
06:54Got some...
06:55Fucking bullshit fruits.
06:59Got fucking dinner.
07:01Once again.
07:02Some sunglasses, dude.
07:06So...
07:07This is all that goes on back here.
07:10Did I...
07:10Did I mention this was dinner?
07:11Did you get that earlier?
07:12Okay, sick.
07:14Yeah.
07:14This is how we roll.
07:16Hello MTV.
07:17Welcome to my crib.
07:19This is the back of the van.
07:21This is where the magic happens.
07:24So, you know, back here we store all of our gear.
07:26And we've been touring without the third row bench.
07:30For most of the band.
07:32Um...
07:33There was...
07:34There was one tour that we did where we had the third row in.
07:37And that was before we were using, like...
07:39The Kempers or, like, Neurals for guitars.
07:41So we had, like, two combo amps that would go up against it.
07:44And then...
07:44There were just five of us then, too.
07:47So this backpack bench is longer.
07:49And that was, uh...
07:50That was where you, like, really got a good nap or snooze.
07:52But we can't have that anymore.
07:54Um...
07:54Because we gotta put all the merch in here.
07:56And the guitars.
07:57And this is actually the first run with Good Terms that we're doing, um...
08:00We don't have cabs.
08:02So usually we bring, like, orange cabs and, like, you know, a base cab.
08:06And that takes up a lot of space.
08:08But we're all in the box on this one.
08:10So that's been kind of nice.
08:11Like, we've been able to put, like, six boxes of merch back here.
08:14You know, like, all of our luggage.
08:16And then we just have, like, a couple guitars and, like, our rack.
08:19And so it's...
08:20This is definitely, like, the most spacious one.
08:22Like, in the past, like, when we've been going on tour, um...
08:26I've always been pretty much, like, yo, everyone can bring, like, a backpack.
08:28Because there's no space.
08:30And when Emilio joined the band, actually, um...
08:33First tour we went on, I'm like, hey, everyone gotta bring a backpack.
08:36We have drums.
08:37We have cabs.
08:38Like, we were fully loaded in here.
08:41Emilio shows up to leave for tour.
08:44And we...
08:45He brings a cooler.
08:46And not a small one.
08:47He brings, like, a big cooler.
08:49And then he brought two JBL speakers, too.
08:52And this time he said that we needed to bring sandbags.
08:55And, like, I don't know why, but, like, Emilio just wants to put, like, more stuff.
08:58In the van.
09:00You...
09:00Do you know why?
09:01Well, you guys are just, like, really, like, immature.
09:04They don't know what the fuck they're doing, dude.
09:06I've been doing this for so long.
09:08And so many tours, dude.
09:09They just...
09:11They don't know.
09:12I don't know.
09:12This is your second tour with us.
09:13I try to teach...
09:14Shh.
09:15Shh.
09:16I'm just trying to teach it, man.
09:17I'm just trying to shed some light.
09:20But, you know, it is what it is.
09:22They don't want to listen.
09:22So I'll just, you know...
09:23I'll let them learn their lesson on their own, dude.
09:26Shh.
09:27Yo, thanks for watching Buzz Invaders.
09:29I'm Duncan.
09:30This is Emilio.
09:31We're in Relate.
09:32And, uh, we just put out a new EP.
09:34It's called Have I Ever Done Anything?
09:35You can listen to it on Spotify.
09:37And if you want to follow us on socials, it's at Relate Denver.
09:41Because we're called Relate.
09:42That's our band name.
09:43And we're from a city called Denver.
09:45It's just those two words together.
09:47On every platform.
09:48Relate Denver.
10:16Uh-uh, we can drive over and then get into it.
10:21He's the red box...
10:22Yeah, that's what he thought...
10:22Nothing to watch.
10:22you get to pay a price. It was cool.
10:23so that I
10:23did benefit from my city. That's all right. It was
10:23a student. You better get to occupy the house.
