00:06in the third round the Chicago Bears have selected Stanford tight end Sam Roush the tight end position
00:13for the Bears is one that of course it was surprising for some folks that they were willing
00:17to go there in the top 10 last year after having paid Cole Komet giving him a significant amount
00:23of guaranteed money went and got Colston Loveland in the first round last year and now on day two
00:28of this current draft cycle they've drafted Stanford tight end Sam Roush so that to me
00:35another surprising pick here because you've gone back-to-back offensive players and perhaps we
00:40shouldn't be surprised by it because whether it's Ryan Poles sticking with the philosophy of best
00:45player available as they evaluated or just bolstering that Ben Johnson offense either way the Bears really
00:52seemingly being aggressive with the styles of player that they're eager to get in Herb yeah I think it's
00:58a very very interesting pick if you ask me big and obviously you talk about sticking with this idea
01:03of best player available but it's a little bit surprising right now to see the tight end come
01:09off the board and it starts to raise questions to me about does that potentially mean something for
01:14Cole Komet we know the Bears are still you know interested in creating some cap space we know they're
01:19still you know they have a ton of faith in in what Colston Loveland is and what he'll continue to
01:23develop into that's a very interesting pick they go center that could potentially start his career
01:29as a backup and then you go tight end when you have two proven guys on the roster ahead of
01:35him
01:35it's a very very interesting pick it's either a clear case of them sticking to the board and and
01:40you know Sam Roush being head and shoulders the best player available or there's a plan afoot here and
01:49I'm I'm not sure exactly which one of those things is true hopefully we'll get a little bit more
01:53clarity as we go through the night and we talk to Trey Cozio and later on talk to Ryan Post
