00:00The Chicago Bears select Dylan Thienemann.
00:03There it is.
00:04Defensive back, Oregon.
00:07That's, again, it was a clean sweep before the pick,
00:10and as we went around the horn and said who we would like to see them take,
00:16just a quick rundown of Dane Brugler's sort of write-up on Dylan Thienemann.
00:21One-year starter at Oregon, a productive post-safety at Purdue for two seasons,
00:26transferred to Eugene for his junior season, earned a 2025 All-America nod for the Ducks
00:32with both of his interceptions, clinching victories late in the game,
00:35collected more than 300 combined tackles in three college seasons,
00:40averaged 7.9 tackles per start.
00:43Open field athleticism, says Thienemann has a lot to offer in the NFL
00:47because of his versatility, making plays over the top in coverage or downhill versus the run,
00:53shows impressive range and anticipation from the deep half of the field
00:57as well as the intelligence to understand what opponents are trying to do,
01:01although he doesn't always play up to his testing numbers.
01:04He can guard both sidelines and sort through routes.
01:07He can clean up some things in the run game, too.
01:10He has a nose for the ball and doesn't hesitate flying to the contact point.
01:15That sounds like exactly what the Bears needed in that secondary end.
