The universe of Borderlands is an incredibly dangerous place, but also quite beautiful at times. This video was inspired by a comment I saw on a stream long ago, and has been brewing in my mind ever since.
There are some obvious bests and worsts, but it was very tricky to rank some other ones. So unfortunately there were some mistakes in the voice over, and this video didn't turn out like I had hoped, but I still hope you enjoy it.
If you want to make a tier list, you can do it here:

00:00Hello, I'm Enzo, and I have a question for you, dear viewer. If you could live anywhere in Borderlands 2
00:07without worry, where would it be? I got this idea from a comment I saw on a stream a long
00:13time ago,
00:14and this idea has been cooking in my head for a very long time. Thus, I've come up with both
00:19a
00:19tier list of the best and worst places to live, and several reasons why or why not to live there.
00:27So, to rank every single place, I'll be going over a large list of factors. I'll explain this a tiny
00:34bit
00:34more as we get into it, but essentially, I'll be thinking about the environment of every single
00:40level. Think stuff like pollution, the weather, you know, how the first few areas are extremely cold,
00:47stuff like that. Then, the living conditions, like how much it would cost to live in each place,
00:53and just how you would live. Again, the first areas are very cold. Cold places aren't the best
00:58to live in, but they can be relatively cheap. Then, of course, there's going to be enemies and
01:04threats of the map. Of course, this is Borderlands, so everything is going to want to kill you.
01:09That's just how this universe works, but I will mostly be ignoring that for the count because
01:15that's kind of just like a fact of life. Everything's going to kill you wherever you go
01:19in Borderlands. And as a bonus, I'll be talking about, like, employment and what you'll actually
01:25be doing in each place. Because, another great example, when Sheer Waste, I mean, Claptrap does
01:31scrap and stuff like that, but yeah, not much else. Alright, so let's get into it. So, in this video,
01:38I'm going to be going over 73 maps in this game. I believe there are 75 in total. I just
01:46didn't get
01:47to Terramorphous Arena and Hatterax Arena. Those are the only two I think I'm forgetting about.
01:54Plus, those are just going to be in the unlivable category anyways, so it's really not worth noting
01:59them either way. The tier list I made for this run is going to have five categories. I definitely
02:06could have done this a whole lot better, but this is my first time trying to do a proper tier
02:10list like
02:11this. Anyways, we have, at the top, Perfect. This is, like, the best place you could live in somewhere
02:18I would absolutely love to live. The next tier is Great, which is, you know, really good, very nice
02:24to live, but still not perfect. Then, there is Livable, which, well, kind of as the name implies.
02:31It's like the, I don't want to use, like, middle class, but, like, middle option. You know, it's not
02:37perfect, but it's not bad. It's probably where you'd see most people living. Or, maybe, manageable,
02:44which is where most people in the Borland's universe seem to live. Where life is possible,
02:49but not always great by any means. And, of course, at the end, unlivable. Yes, the places where you could
02:56not stay even a day. And our first map to the tier list is obviously Wind Sheer Waste. This is
03:03where you
03:03start out, of course. And, in my opinion, I think it goes into the manageable category. Now, it's still
03:10very rough. You see, in the Borland's universe, a lot of things aren't explained pretty well. I mean,
03:15it's a video game. Try not to think about it too much. But, like, how are you going to get
03:19your food?
03:20How are you going to have resources to survive out here? But, let's not really think about that.
03:25Let's just look at the place itself. The main area in Wind Sheer Waste is Claptrap's place. He built this
03:32out of all the scrap that Jack dumps, as he's already said. And, honestly, it's actually kind of cozy.
03:39I really want to put it in a higher tier, but I would say manageable. The temperature here is
03:45definitely your main problem. Well, besides the enemies. But, like I've already said,
03:50considering this is the Borland's universe, we're not really going to worry about enemies,
03:55but I absolutely will be noting them either way. On to Southern Shelf. I would say it's in the
04:01Livable category. One problem with all of these maps and ranking them is that, well,
04:07a lot of the maps are absolutely massive. Southern Shelf is a great example. I mean,
04:13half of it is just like Captain Flint's area. So, I'm mostly taking into consideration
04:20Lyresburg, because this is a very nice little town, if not extremely cold, and there's no one living
04:27here anymore. But, you get the point. I kind of like this place. But, we still can't forget the
04:33insane threat of bandits and bully mong that this place presents. Southern Shelf Bay is very similar
04:40to Southern Shelf itself, but I would say this place, okay, definitely should have gone up to
04:47great or something like that, because this place looks way more livable than Southern Shelf. I mean,
04:53it's a whole proper town and everything like that. I mean, sure, it is a bandit camp, but you kind
04:59of
04:59get the point. If you were a bandit, it would be easy to live among your peers over here. Man,
05:05making
05:05this video gets even more confusing, because I know the best place to live is like a normal person,
05:11but I also want to look at it like ignoring all of the enemies and everything like that. Because overall,
05:17I would say this place isn't the worst to live in Borderlands 2, certainly. Three Horns Valley is in a
05:24very interesting spot, because, well, like most of the maps, it is a huge map, so there's all sorts of
05:31stuff I could go over. The place is filled with bully mongs, skags, bandits, and it's freezing cold. So
05:38definitely not the best place in the game. But, at the same time, it's very open, and there's plenty of
05:45place where you can set up shop. So I would say it's actually quite livable. Sanctuary. Definitely
05:52one of the best maps in the entire game. I mean, it's a city full of people. It's defended by
05:58the
05:58Crimson Raiders. On top of that, you've got all the great NPCs. Tannis, Marcus, Scooter, Zed, Moxie,
06:06Hammerlock. I mean, it's one of the best places in the game. Honestly, I have no clue why I didn't
06:10put it
06:11at perfect rank because this is one of the ideal places to be compared to everywhere else in Borderlands,
06:17but I put it in great for this video. Honestly, looking back at it, it definitely deserves perfect.
06:23It's sanctuary. Three Horns Valley is probably one of my favorite maps. I don't know why,
06:28but there's just something about this map that I've always found so unique. I love the terrain,
06:34how it's not exactly cold, but kind of like thawing. I love that giant bandit camp that you can see
06:40over
06:40there. It's always super fun to clear out, gives a ton of XP and loot. I mean, you've got Southpaw
06:46Steaming Power. There's the Scooter Pump mission, the Bloodshot Dam, and the entrance to the dust
06:52on top of Doc Mercy. Like, I love this place. It's probably not that bad to live either,
06:58so I put it in great. I mean, it's one of my favorite maps. I've already said that.
07:03And have I even mentioned the Happy Pig Motel? I mean, sure, all the people that were living there
07:08died to the blood shots. But I mean, hey, it's better than other maps, right? Frostburn Canyon,
07:16well, your major issue is obviously going to be the fact it's filled with bandits. And where there's
07:22not bandits, there's spider ants. Where there's not spider ants, there's Lilith. So I would say
07:27manageable. I mean, okay, I don't hate Lilith like some people do, but still, I kind of have to add
07:33the fact she's here for the meme. I think it just makes it so much funnier. On top of that,
07:39yeah, you couldn't really move in with all the bandits, but maybe you could find a way. So,
07:44manageable. I slightly forgot about this earlier, but Southpaw Steaming Power, another map that I
07:51really like. And I have to say, I think this place is super cozy. Looking back at it now,
07:56I don't think it deserves the livable tier, probably just manageable. Again, forgetting about
08:03all the bandits, you're in a giant power plant. And I can imagine that gets pretty toasty,
08:09especially because it's steam power. It's probably super loud and annoying to live there because
08:14machinery. So I would say it's only manageable despite what I put on this tier list because I
08:22made the tier list at a separate time from voicing this over. So all my options aren't 100% locked
08:29in
08:29there. The Dust is another beautiful map, especially if you ever see it at nighttime.
08:35That's got to be like one of my favorite things in this entire game. Unfortunately, it's not going
08:39to get super high on my list because, well, The Dust is a desert. Deserts are like the worst place
08:46to
08:47live. They are extremely hot, extremely dry. You have to, you got to be careful with your water usage
08:53because there's generally not much. Uh, yeah. I mean, I used to live in Arizona, you know,
08:59a desert. So I can confirm they absolutely suck. On the other hand though, there is plenty of space to
09:05live as long as you can deal with the insane bandit threat, especially considering they've got buzzards
09:11here and the spider ant threat on the other side of the map. The Bloodshot stronghold in my mind is
09:17very similar to Southpaw because well, it's a hydro dam, but still a power plant. So it would be noisy
09:25and crazy to live in, but the bandits have set up camp here. So clearly they've found a way to
09:31have
09:31it this place. Honestly, I can't blame them. I am partially just like a cave gremlin. So I almost like
09:38how cozy some of these more claustrophobic maps like this are. Livable at best, but I'll put it at
09:46the ramparts. Besides the robots that are attacking for this part of the game, I'd actually say the
09:52ramparts are like one of the best places to live in this game. Okay. Not top tier, but very livable.
09:58I mean, you've got plenty of open air. That's very nice, especially considering the interior of the dam
10:05is probably pretty humid and disgusting considering, well, everything. But on top, there's plenty of room
10:13to live. There's fresh air, amazing lighting. Yeah. I'd say this is one of the best places to live.
10:18If you are one of the bandits here, of course. Tundra Express is a very neat map. A part of
10:24it is
10:25cold considering you travel here from Three Horns Divide. So that makes sense. But then it gets to more
10:33of a moderate temperature. I actually have no clue what that's called. Like my brain cannot figure out the
10:39right words to say like, not completely cold, maybe cool, whatever. I would say compared to a lot of
10:47other options in this game, Tundra Express is probably a very livable map. I mean, the air quality
10:53is probably pretty decent here. The buzzards, bandits, and insane amount of arcades probably are not the
11:00best neighbors, I will admit. But I mean, there's a mine here, which is pretty good, and a train connection,
11:06which you don't see much of in this game. And that's pretty big for, you know, making a living,
11:11and stuff like that. That's one thing I haven't really touched on at this point, like the economics
11:16of the people living in Borderlands. But I am absolutely not qualified to figure that out. And
11:22everyone knows I currently don't have the brain capacity to do that either. Since the end of the
11:27line is technically a map, I will be including it here, just like a couple of others. But this is
11:33going
11:33to be the first one that's going into the unlivable category. So why is it unlivable? I mean, that
11:40should be self-explanatory. It's the end of the line. It's a one-time map, it's full of robots,
11:46and it's freezing cold, on top of all the train wreck that's around you. Yeah, definitely don't want
11:52to be here. Shortly after that map is the Hyperion Friendship Gulag. You can actually do this mission
11:58before you put Sanctuary into the air, and I always like to do it to get Moxie's Relic for some
12:04extra
12:04XP. But yeah, this place should be pretty self-explanatory. It's literally got Gulag in the name.
12:10No person in their right mind would want to live in a prison. Obviously, second map in unlivable.
12:16I always tend to do Fink's Slaughterhouse before I go into the fridge proper, even though you have to
12:23go to the fridge first. I'm going to do this. You get the point. So Fink's Slaughterhouse is one of
12:29the
12:29three base game circles of slaughter. And since that is the only purpose of this place, I rank it as
12:36unlivable. Besides all of the magma you can see flowing in the background of this level, it's filled
12:43with bandits. It's a literal slaughterhouse. Why would you want to live here? Yeah, I wouldn't either.
12:48Unlivable. Back into the fridge, I would say this map is, well, maybe manageable.
12:56The main problem is that it's in a giant cave. Definitely not the best, most desirable place to
13:02live. It is freezing cold. I mean, it's literally called the fridge. And we're kind of forgetting
13:08about the biggest problem here, the bandits. They're not just any bandits. They are rats.
13:13They're also rack, which aren't that big of a problem. It is the, you know, cannibal rats that
13:20you got to worry about here. This almost makes me think this place is unlivable, but maybe you
13:25could manage something by the Crystalisk area. I don't know. That's one thing I actually forget
13:30about this map a lot of the time. It's also got Crystalisk and Stalkers. Man, this place is way worse
13:36the more I think about it. It actually deserves to be in the unlivable tier.
13:40Out from one of the worst maps in the entire game to potentially one of the best. I don't know
13:47what
13:47my favorite map actually is, but I have a feeling the Highlands is in the top three. However, you
13:53technically start out in the Outwash instead of the proper Highlands. So I'm going to be putting this
14:00place in unlivable because it's either infested with Stalkers filled with Hyperion enemies and robots
14:07on top of the Threshers and the fact it's like a giant industrial area. You wouldn't want to live
14:14in this level specifically. Once we get into the actual Highlands, I mean, you guys should be able
14:20to see every single reason I love this place. The colors are amazing. So is the lighting, especially
14:26with my graphics. It's a massive, nice open map. There's plenty of nice housing, nature. I mean,
14:33everything. I would say, especially once you get to Overlook, the Highlands is easily our first level
14:39in perfect tier. Now, this is not easy to achieve, I have to say. Like, a level has to be
14:45insanely
14:46overwhelmingly good to be perfect in my eyes. And yeah, I would love to live in the Highlands, honestly.
14:53Next up is Sanctuary Hole. And I have to say, this place, even though it's very much makeshift,
15:01it is technically the remains of Sanctuary. So it's still got plenty of buildings from the city
15:07that's now in the sky. And I'll be honest, all things considered, I would say it's pretty livable.
15:13Besides the bandits, of course. And, uh, maybe the, and, uh, okay, maybe it shouldn't be livable.
15:20So manageable, I would guess, because living here is an extreme threat to safety, mostly because of
15:26the height. I mean, you could easily fall off and in to the giant hole in the ground there.
15:32So I guess that's something to consider. On to the Caustic Caverns, which is another one of my
15:38favorite levels. Unfortunately, I think we all know where it goes on the, uh, list. I mean,
15:44it's a giant abandoned mine filled with not only lakes, but like oceans of acid. Yeah,
15:52unfortunately, I can't say this place is livable at all. Like, uh, yeah, it's one of the worst places
15:57you could ever go. On top of the environment and likely atmosphere, don't even get me started on
16:03the fact it has the most enemy diversity in the game. You've got Varkids, Threshers, Crystalisks,
16:11Spider Ants, and, to add insult to injury, Creepers. Yes, Creepers from Minecraft because
16:17this is the level that has that secret. So a pretty horrible combination of everything.
16:23But you have to admit, it is one of the coolest looking levels in the game,
16:27and it has some awesome ambient and combat music. The Wildlife Exploitation Preserve, uh,
16:34I mean, it should be pretty self-explanatory. If the Stalkers or Skaggs don't get you,
16:39the Hyperion enemies certainly will and, you know, experiment on you, making this place utterly
16:44unlivable by any means. The same should also be extremely obvious for the Natural Selection Annex.
16:52Yeah, it's another circle of slaughter filled with tons of enemies.
16:56Ignoring the amount of bandits here, which technically are part of Brick's gang and he seems easy enough to
17:03join. So maybe not the worst. Well, definitely not the worst in this game. I would say Thousand Cuts is
17:09like really good. Dare I even say great to live. It is one of the most neat levels in this
17:16game. And I
17:17mean, just look at it. It's pretty open. There's plenty of housing, plenty of fresh air. Of course,
17:22you do have to think about the threat from Hyperion up on the control core there. But when you look
17:28at all of
17:28your other options, yeah, I'd say this map is awesome. Lynchwood is another awesome map. Unfortunately,
17:35it is filled with bandits and that includes rats. You've got all sorts of Skaggs on top of it. I
17:42don't think it deserves the rating of livable that I gave it, maybe manageable, but there is plenty of
17:49housing around the place. And I guess you have Dukino here, which is a very fun side mission,
17:55I have to say. For Opportunity, alright, you're going to have to hear me out on this one. But
18:00considering I've been looking at everything else in a perfect world, I think I should give
18:05Opportunity the same treatment. Okay, if it's a perfectly well developed and built out city,
18:11I think it might be one of the best places to live, actually. No serious threats from outside.
18:16The only real issue would be like the laws inside, you know, littering and complaining about
18:22Opportunity's laws being punishable by death, which I mean, okay, it sounds bad, but he's got a point,
18:29you know, if we started punishing littering by death, it would go down, no one would do it anymore.
18:34I mean, Jack may be the villain, but he's right. I have a feeling you guys should be able to
18:40know
18:40why the bunker and obviously Control Core Angel are absolutely unlivable. I mean,
18:47you're not even supposed to be here in the first place. And yeah, literally everything is trying to
18:53kill you since you are, you know, trespassing. The Iridium Blight is one of the maps I was thinking
18:58a lot about when I originally had the idea for this run. I mean, every single reason,
19:04every single thing about this place makes it unlivable. It's full of bandits. You've got the
19:11rock bullymons, which are far more difficult than the normal ones. You are literally in a volcanic area.
19:18There's magma channels flowing throughout the level, which means the air quality here is absolutely
19:23horrible. There's just tons of ash pollution. There's actually ash that falls on your screen,
19:29which that's the thing I kind of forgot about. I have a feeling it's like BL2 fix that removes that
19:35or something. I'm not actually sure what does it, but normally when you're here, the screen is always
19:40covered in ash particles. It's really annoying. I kind of forgot about that because I haven't played
19:46on console in such a long time. I'm sure I can think of tons of actual reasons, but yeah, horrible
19:52place to live in. So I'll say it's unlivable. Same thing goes for the ore chasm, which is the third
20:01circle,
20:02which is the third circle of slaughter, and the last one in the base game at least. The fourth one
20:08is actually Merlin's Temple in Tina DLC. We'll get to that eventually. Sawtooth Cauldron. This is one of my
20:16least favorite maps because of how insanely difficult it can be. I mean, if you've seen some of my other
20:22runs,
20:22you can probably see why I say that, but overall, I would say this place is actually pretty livable.
20:29Why do I say that? Well, there's plenty of infrastructure here, and I mean, there's even
20:35industry when you get to the area with the buzzards. So yeah, I really like, of course, you'd have to
20:41fit
20:41in with the bandits to live here and of course deal with the threshers, but not terrible all things
20:46considered. On to the arid nexus. It's technically split into two maps, and thinking about it now,
20:53I have no clue why I put the boneyard in livable, considering, okay, well, they're both held by
20:59Hyperion, but there's like nowhere to live in the boneyard. It is pure industry. I would say manageable,
21:06maybe even unlivable, perhaps. The primary issue is, of course, it's insanely hot in this area,
21:12you know, desert and industry is not helping with that. And then all the Hyperion infrastructure.
21:18While the boneyard certainly deserves a lower rating, the Badlands, absolutely not. This is
21:25one of the best maps like ever, obviously, because it's from Borderlands 1. And considering people used
21:31to live here, I would say this place is very livable. I mean, we had only Zed and TK Baja
21:37in Borderlands 1,
21:38but you get the point. It's deteriorated a little bit because Hyperion took over in Borderlands 2,
21:45but all of the infrastructure and everything is still here. I shouldn't really have to explain
21:50Hero's past. I mean, first of all, it's in the middle of Iridium ruins. I mean, it's up to the
21:56vault. It's filled with magma. It's actually in the Iridium blight, technically, so we already know
22:02it's going to be unlivable. But I mean, all of the robots, it's a Hyperion base, doesn't get much
22:08worse than this. Not to mention the fact that it also houses some of the most difficult enemies
22:13in the game, because it's one of the last levels. And obviously, it's the exact same for the vault
22:19of the warrior, since, well, it's a giant volcano, or in the volcano? I'm not even sure. It's just
22:26filled with magma. Would be absolutely unlivable either way. Now that I've beaten the main game,
22:32I'm going to go on to all of the DLCs and headhunter maps. I'm not going to do them in,
22:38like, the order they were released, which is probably the smart way to do it. But I'll be
22:42doing all the headhunters first, and I'll be playing them in the order that I feel like.
22:47As you can see here, Marcus's Mercenary Day DLC is probably the best, I have to admit. It's one of
22:54the greatest DLCs in Borderlands by far. It's a fun, short little level. The theme is amazing.
23:01The snowmen are awesome. And honestly, besides the cold and bandits, and, you know, that giant
23:08snowman that wants to kill everybody, I would say this place is pretty awesome to live in,
23:13not going to lie. I love the holiday theme and spirit is just amazing. I think it'd be a really
23:19cozy place to live, I have to say. I also love the entirety, I was going to say, like, looks,
23:25but, I mean, everything about the Hallowed Hollow is pretty awesome. Unfortunately,
23:31it's not your best bet for living in, though, considering, uh, it's like the realm of the
23:36undead. You know, that's probably not the best way, that's probably not the greatest place to live.
23:41But, considering we have zombie TK Baja, I would say it's manageable at some point. I mean,
23:47there are plenty of houses and everything, but it's unfested with undead, you got spider ants,
23:55and, of course, the pum kingpin. All the headhunters are technically the same map,
24:01that's why judging all of them can be a tiny bit difficult, but out of all of them,
24:06I would say the Rotgut distillery is probably the best place to live. I mean,
24:11the terrain and atmosphere is very nice, it's already a town, the only real problem is the
24:17hodunks and zappards that live in the area, and, of course, they're at war with each other,
24:22so you kind of got, like, I'm not gonna say gang issues, but clan issues. There's also all the
24:30threshers that are in the area, but it's a very nice looking place either way. Plenty of housing,
24:35and even a distillery nearby, so pretty awesome place. Honestly, I'm not sure how Gluttony Gulch
24:41actually went into manageable, considering it's, like, half kitchen, and the other half is infested
24:48with sting wings, which are, like, one of the most poisonous things in the game, apparently. So,
24:53looking at it now, I would say this place is unlivable, considering everything, but still a
24:58very unique map, and I love the Gobbler fight. Okay, Wombom Island, which is how Hammerlock
25:05pronounces the name, by the way, so before you go and yell at me in the comments, listen to how
25:10he
25:10says it first. Anyways, this place should be a no-brainer. It's the most beautiful map in the
25:17entire game, for every single reason possible, so obviously it's going to go into the perfect tier.
25:23I mean, duh. The only true downsides to living on an island, and this is from experience, by the way,
25:29they are always extremely expensive to live on, because, you know, you have to ship everything there.
25:36On top of that, well, buying stuff online is a nightmare, because it takes forever to arrive,
25:41sometimes weeks or months. Yeah, it really sucks when that happens. But, of course, you've got the
25:46beaches, the views, all of that good stuff. You guys can probably imagine everything. The only issue,
25:53at least in this game, of course, is, uh, pirates. Well, and all the creatures that live here. You've got
25:59the locals to deal with, as well. But, for the Borderlands universe, this is probably the best place you could
26:04be.
26:05Now that I'm done with all the headhunters, it's time to turn to the DLCs, where I'll start with one
26:11of the best ones, which is, of course, Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep. That's a ridiculously long
26:16name. But get this. The first level. The potenti- The unassuming docks of potentially little importance.
26:24Yes, that is the entire name of the level. It's a neat little town. However, it is filled with undead.
26:30You've also got the stone golems all around the map. Probably not the best place to live, I have to
26:34say.
26:35But, maybe manageable in the most remote areas, because there is the one chef guy. So, that could be something.
26:42Flame Rock Refuge has to be just one of the greatest maps in the game. It's very cozy in the
26:48same way that
26:49Sanctuary is, even though this is one of the rare, like, safe maps that has enemies in it. There are,
26:56like, spiders and skeletons. Think kind of like New Haven in Borderlands 1, how the areas around it
27:02still have enemies inside of it, unlike Sanctuary in Borderlands 2, and even 3, where there's no
27:09enemies at all. But, because of how amazing the map is in total, I think it absolutely deserves a
27:14perfect rating. No clue why I decided to put the forest into a manageable category, because, like,
27:21there is nowhere to even try and live in this place. Either the trees are trying to kill you,
27:26or the orcs are trying to kill you. On top of that, it's a really gloomy swamp. Which, I mean,
27:31I can perfectly handle, but like, yeah, everything's still trying to kill you. I think that's the major
27:36issue here. Okay, but the immortal woods being unlivable makes actual perfect sense. Most stuff
27:42here is undead, or dragons trying to kill you. On top of that, you got the skeleton kings and the
27:48nightmares that they are to deal with. I mean, need I say more? The Mines of Avarice is another
27:54amazing level. And, considering all things, I thought this place was actually quite livable.
28:00Okay, sure, you've got all of the iron golems, but technically, the dwarves were allies until that
28:07one part of the mission. So, there is a living population here, they've got plenty of shelter,
28:13and, I mean, they mine resources. What more could you want? Hatred's shadow is just full of enemies.
28:20I mean, sure, it is a giant castle and giant tower, but like, nowhere to really live. Just all enemy
28:27spawns. So, yeah, you know where it goes. And the layer of infinite agony needs no explanation either.
28:35Especially considering there's that stupid trap that I can never remember how to do every single
28:40time. That is like the worst thing they've ever added to this game. I mean, it's easy enough
28:45to figure out when to go, but still, I die to it every time. Naturally, the dragon keep is also
28:51completely unlivable. I mean, it's a really cool map, don't get me wrong, but like, no normal person
28:57would be able to live here on account of all of the enemies, both living and not. I was gonna
29:03say for
29:03sake of completion, but if I were a true completionist, I would have gotten, you know,
29:08Terramorphous's arena and Hatteraxx, but whatever. Myrtlein's temple, naturally also unlivable.
29:15Oasis is another amazing and beautiful map. It's not good enough to be perfect, especially
29:21considering your main problem here is actually going to be the lack of water and the fact it's
29:26kind of a dried up ocean, so it's a desert now, really hot. But yeah, mostly the water issue.
29:32I would still say it's a really great place overall. Worm water does not get the same treatment.
29:39I didn't show it here, but there are places where enemies live. There's like that first enemy area
29:44right near the entrance to the level, and there's like some trees and stuff there. So I'd say it's
29:49a really nice place. Well, not really nice, but relatively nice. And besides the worm threat,
29:55I would say it's pretty livable. I believe Hatter's Folly requires absolutely zero explanation,
30:02as you just need to take a look for a millisecond and you realize it's just the most beautiful map
30:07in the game. So obviously it earns a perfect spot. There's no arguing that. Besides the beautiful water
30:14and glow from all the crystals, that's the slight problem. You know, bandits, well pirates in this case,
30:20skags, chrysalis. I mean, there's that, but come on. The looks alone? I would love to live in this place.
30:28And to top all that off, it's got a freaking hot springs inside of it. Like, who could ask for
30:34a better
30:34place to live than this? And just look, you get natural sunlight too. I'm loving this level more than
30:40I ever have before, now that I actually just think about it. It's so neat. The Rust Yards is a
30:46very
30:46interesting map. And overall, I think I'd give this place somewhere around a manageable, because
30:52obviously the pirates have found a way to live here without all getting eaten by the spider ants.
30:57But I think we all know what the TRUE problem of the Rust Yards is, Herbert. I mean, sure,
31:03you deal with him in the end, I'm just saying. I don't know how the pirates stand him, or better
31:08yet,
31:08how he's alive considering the pirate presence. Washburn is kind of a no-brainer. I mean,
31:14the refinery, well, okay, it's in the name. It's an industrial facility, you wouldn't want to live
31:21here. Not to mention how polluted this place probably is with chemicals, considering it is,
31:26you know, a refinery. Magnus Lighthouse. This is another one of the coolest maps in the game,
31:31and I have to say, this is a really cool place to live. The only issue is, of course, it's
31:38pretty high
31:38up, so you've got that danger, and if you don't like heights. Not to mention how dangerous all the
31:45crossings and bridges here are. However, the view is amazing from this place, and there's an ample
31:52amount of housing. There's also the presence of stalkers, which is a tiny problem, but overall,
31:57I think this is a really great place to live. This is technically the Leviathan's lair. I mean,
32:03that's certainly one way to put this area, but yes, that he does spit you out and you fight him
32:08in the actual arena, but still, you physically could not survive in this place. I mean,
32:13it's literally in the stomach of a creature filled with disgusting acid. It would kill you pretty fast
32:19as a normal person. So, I mean, nothing else needs to be said about this. On to fight for sanctuary.
32:25The first, the absolute starting map, it like, is sanctuary, and you're only there once,
32:31so that doesn't even count. But the first true map is the Backburner. Now, it's filled with enemies
32:37at first, of course, but once you deal with that, and later on, a bunch of the main NPCs do
32:43actually
32:44move in here. So, overall, I'd say it's pretty livable, actually. And I have to say, I think the
32:50Dull Abandon definitely isn't the worst, considering there are still like bandit camps and then all the
32:56infected enemies. It's still pretty bad. However, compared to a lot of Fight for Sanctuary, I would
33:02say it's relatively manageable. But I have a feeling I shouldn't have to explain the rest of Fight for
33:08Sanctuary, though, because, like, it's all going to be unlivable. The burrows, filled with enemies,
33:15infected enemies, and spores, wild, and vicious plants of all sorts. You definitely don't want to be here at
33:22all. Helios Fallen is more of the same, on top of containing some of the most difficult enemies in
33:28the game, by the way. Like, all of the new Pandora Soldiers are stupidly powerful, and hit like trucks.
33:34Then you've got all the hacked robots, and yeah. Overall, it does not make for a good time.
33:40Mount Scarab Research Center is more of the same, especially considering it was abandoned. Well,
33:47yeah, you definitely don't want to be here either. And then Paradise Sanctum, which is a reskinned
33:52sanctuary, is the final level, and of course, a boss arena. So, also making it unlivable. Go figure.
34:00Hunter's Grotto goes into the manageable category, because look at the place. It's filled with enemies,
34:07as in creatures, and of course, the locals. On top of that, it's a very swampy, gloomy, glum area. I
34:15mean,
34:15sure, you could live here, but why would you want to? It just, well, maybe if you really like hunting,
34:20like Hammerlock. I guess that's the main reason. Celia's Grove also fits in the same category
34:26as Hunter's Grotto. I mean, they're pretty much the same level. Uh, swampy, this type of place. I
34:34don't know how else to describe it. There are plenty of locals and critters that would like to eat you
34:38alive. And I'm not kidding about the first part. It is known that these guys are cannibals.
34:43Arterton Station is also going to be unlivable. I mean, this is easy enough to figure out why.
34:50We've got all the classic Hunter's Grotto enemies, but this is also a giant lab with tons of deadly
34:56creatures inside of it. Nowhere I would want to go. However, in a bizarre twist for Hunter's Grotto,
35:02I actually believe that Cattleton's Crag is one of the coolest maps. As a matter of fact,
35:09I put it into the great category. Now, this is for several reasons. It actually uses the highlands
35:15theme as the background music, so that instantly wins points. It looks just beautiful. It's got some
35:21really good high ground and scenic views. On top of that, you're in like a nice mountain range. This
35:26would also be a really neat place to live, I have to say. Mind you, you still have to worry
35:30about the
35:31locals and all the wildlife in this place. This far into the video, I think you guys should be able
35:37to tell
35:37what I'm going to label most places. The Terminus is a giant boss arena. It serves no other purpose,
35:44thus unlivable. And now, onto the final DLC, Torg's Campaign of Carnage. We start out in the crater,
35:52of course, and this is pretty interesting because we do see that plenty of enemies live here. So,
35:59even though it's pretty warm, I'm guessing because, you know, desert and everything, I would probably say
36:05this place is relatively manageable. Torg DLC is also interesting because you come back to the arena
36:11a couple of times for various reasons, so I'll only note it once because it is the exact same level,
36:17just for different parts of it, but obviously it's going to be unlivable. Considering the massive amount
36:24of enemies that live in the beatdown, I would say it's another- I would say it's another relatively
36:29manageable area. Alright, well, I had the same kind of joke idea for both of the bars, because you
36:36unlock Pyro Pete's bar, and then Moxie's bar. Of course, they're both unlivable. My great idea is,
36:43if you live in a bar, you have a serious problem. No offense, but that should not be your life.
36:48The Southern Raceway, and Beatdown, and Crater are all relatively similar, so of course,
36:55they're going to get a similar rating. Manageable. And considering The Forge is the last unique level,
37:03I mean, it shouldn't be hard to figure out what this place is going to be. Unlivable. Even though
37:07the industry here is great, it's very polluted, as you can see, there's magma channels everywhere,
37:14and plenty of death hazards here. So, unlivable is kind of a given. In the end, I really thought I
37:21was
37:21going to put more, well, thought and brain power into each choice. Some of them, obviously, I changed
37:27in my voice over here. But overall, I think this was a very fun and interesting video to do. Just
37:33think about the coolest and worst places in Borderlands 2. Of course, at this point, it's going to become a
37:39series. You know, I want to explore all of the Borderlands games, see where the best and worst places
37:44to live are. I think that would be very neat, and I hope you guys enjoyed. The link to my
37:48tier list will be
37:49in the description if you guys want to make yours, and maybe share it to the Discord or something.
37:54The pictures are super small and they suck to see, but maybe you can look at a guide or reference
38:00or
38:00something. Anyways, thank you all for watching. I always appreciate it. And a special thank you to
38:06all of my channel members and supporters. This is going to be Enzo, from Look Into Gaming, signing out.
