00:00Now, if you're in the Windy City, you're feeling good.
00:02This is a talented team that spent money in the offseason and high expectations.
00:06And take a look at this tweet from Talking Baseball Joe.
00:09Cubs have won nine in a row for the first time since their World Series winning season in 2016.
00:15An extra inning win over the Phillies, which we'll get to in just a moment here.
00:21Yeah, they're playing good baseball.
00:24I mean, they're getting the pitching.
00:26They're getting, more importantly, Donnie, it's the kind of offense right now.
00:30That is carrying them, which is fine this early on in the season.
00:34But at some point, you know, we all know there's ebbs and flows here.
00:38The hitting will regress.
00:39And then what?
00:41What happens then?
00:42Can they, do they have enough pitching, I think, in order to be able to sustain when the hitting isn't
00:48there?
00:49So it's one thing if you're scoring seven to eight, nine runs a game.
00:52Boy, you make that pitching look real good, don't you?
00:55But what happens if you're only scoring two runs like the Phillies are right now a game?
01:00Your pitching better be there.
01:01I'll tell you that.
01:02Yeah, the Phillies scored one run, no run, get beat.
01:05Scored seven runs, still get beat here.
01:06Christopher Sanchez, supposed to be your ace, who almost won a Cy Young last year, getting lit up as well.
01:10The Phillies are on a nine-game losing streak.
01:12And it's not going to stop soon.
01:13You know who's on deck now?
01:14At the Braves.
01:15This might go double digits, just like the Mets had it, and basically digging your grave in April.
01:22We always like to say this, Joe.
01:23You can't win a World Series in April.
01:25You can lose the World Series in April, which means you probably won't make the playoffs.
01:30You look at some of the prediction markets, Joe.
01:3230% chance now the Phillies make the playoffs.
01:34And understand this.
01:35This also just isn't about the Phillies waking up.
01:38This team looks old and decrepit.
01:39Coming into the season, the best pitching staff in baseball, if you include starters and bullpen.
01:44Bullpen's injured, not pitching well at all.
01:46Starting pitchers who are supposed to be dominant, not pitching well.
01:49Ooh, Wheeler's coming back on Saturday.
01:51Does that mean Kyle Schwarber's not going to stop hitting 200, or let's just say Alec Boehm is going to
01:55hit 100 on the season?
01:57This team, Joe, is not, oh, they're just waiting to wake up.
02:00Is this just a bad baseball team?
02:02How did that happen?
02:05It's a veteran team that's starting slow is what it is.
02:10But we know.
02:11Listen, we have seen this many times before.
02:14If it was a young team, I'd be worried.
02:17But there's a lot of veterans.
02:18They understand, but the problem right now with the Phillies is that everybody else in division, the Mets are losing,
02:25which is great, right?
02:26The Marlins aren't even in a conversation.
02:29But the problem is, by the time they get out of this funk, Donnie, the Braves might have already run
02:34away with the division.
02:35What are you going to be?
02:36You're going to have to make up 12 games?
02:38But, I mean, the Braves are ridiculous right now.
02:41So, the Braves are throwing a wrench into what should be considered, listen, it happens, right?
02:47Lose these games now.
02:48Don't lose them late.
02:49But the Braves are not losing at all, which is making this a bigger problem.
02:53No.
02:54Another big news here.
02:55The Yankees.
02:56How about this?
02:56Today, the Yankees transferred the rehab assignment of Garrett Cole from AA to high A here at this point.
03:01Is it going backwards right now, Joe?
03:03What's going on here?
03:05Yeah, it depends on what they want him working on.
03:07So, I mean, that's basically, I think that's basically what's going on.
03:11I don't think it may, whether it's high A, AA, it doesn't make a difference.
03:16They're not worried about him pitching again.
03:18It's whoever's rotation in those minor league camps there, Donnie.
03:22Whichever one can fit, we can slide him in here, we'll slide him in there.
03:26There's probably a pitching coach there that they want him to work with.
03:29So, that's exactly what that is.
