00:00And then they calm the waters.
00:01Why?
00:01The Braves come to town to pick up a couple victories.
00:03By the way, it's a four-game series.
00:05Looking for a four-game sweep over the Braves.
00:06The New York Mets, on the other hand, struggling with the Marlins,
00:09which now puts the Phillies back up six games in the NL East.
00:13The Marlins 15 games back, so it is the Phillies and the Mets.
00:16But for once, it looked like the Phillies could shut the door
00:18on the Mets in their three-game series.
00:19They get swept.
00:20Then the Mets don't play good baseball.
00:22The Phillies turned the gas back on, and they got that six-game lead.
00:25I can't figure out the NL East, man.
00:26It's crazy.
00:28It really is.
00:29I would say, based on what happened with the Mets in these past two days,
00:34I think the Phillies have it locked up at this point.
00:36If the Mets were able to win those two games and kind of hold serve,
00:39you could say going into the final week, you could be like, okay,
00:42the Mets actually have a chance now because they're rolling.
00:46You beat the Phillies, great, but if you didn't drop two to the Marlins
00:49or really drop two to any team that's below 500, that's a bad sign.
00:53When it comes to the Phillies, again, I think the Wheeler injury
00:57is obviously massive, but I do see that I think we can look back
01:01and be like, this is a rallying moment for the team,
01:03knowing how good he was this season, knowing that you still have pitchers
01:07to step up in his place like Chris Sanchez, who's been great this year.
01:10This is a rallying moment for the team to say, hey, we can still win this.
01:13It's a big loss, but we're still a great team,
01:15and we can push forward into October,
01:17which I still think is one of the best rotations,
01:19not the best in baseball, but one of the best.
01:22Yeah, you take a look yesterday's game too,
01:24down to your final out in extra innings.
01:26A base knock by Trey Turner scores two runs.
01:28Nick Castellanos comes around with the game winner,
01:30and they come away with that victory.
01:31But it's the Phillies, and did you know,
01:33runs scored this season between the Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies,
01:35649 to 649.
01:38Coming down the stretch, we are here in the month of September.
01:40Central Division, Tom, winners of two games straight,
01:42the Brewers, winners of two games straight,
01:44the Chicago Cubs, six and a half games back in the standings
01:47are those Cubbies here, the Brewers.
01:50Every single day, I look at that lineup, Tom,
01:52and I don't care who's going up against them.
01:54I feel like I just need to take multiple players
01:56because everybody feels like they're clutch on the Brewers.
02:00They've been clutch, and, you know,
02:03reinforcements came at the right time
02:04because Jackson Churio got activated off of IEL yesterday.
02:08He had a home run to help them win the game.
02:10So, you know, the rich get richer, right?
02:13Where they've been playing great ball.
02:15The Cubs, it's great to see Kyle Tucker back,
02:17and he's actually playing really well as a league,
02:19but I think the gap is too big to overcome.
02:21Brewers have this locked up.
02:23Cubs will make the playoffs,
02:24but again, who they play in that first round
02:26is going to be absolutely crucial.
02:29Yeah, but the Cubs bat so on fire to start the season.
02:32If they can get any semblance of that, Tom,
02:34in the month of September,
02:35they'd be a fun team to watch and bet
02:37once they hit the playoffs at this point.
02:39But runs scored there, you never would think it.
02:41699 runs scored for the Milwaukee Brewers.
02:43This is supposed to be a team that wins every game
02:442-1, 3-1.
02:45That's not the case, man.
02:46And again, non-household names
02:48starting to turn into household names.
02:50That is a fun team to watch
02:51because if they're down three runs,
02:52doesn't matter.
02:53If they're down seven runs,
02:54it doesn't matter.
02:55If they're up four runs,
02:56oh no, we can still hold on to this lead.
02:58The Milwaukee Brewers,
02:59certainly a lot of fun to watch.
03:00They're a minus 2,000 price
03:01to win the Central Division.
03:03By the way, the Philadelphia Phillies
03:04over the Mets, minus 1,500.
03:06100.
03:07100.
