00:00First, as I mentioned, U.S. Central Command continues to maintain a strict blockade on
00:04all the ports.
00:05We're enforcing the blockade across the board against any ship of any nationality that is
00:11transiting to or from an Iranian port or territory.
00:16We're closely tracking vessels of interest headed towards Iran and those moving away
00:22from Iran that were outside the blockade area when this blockade was ordered.
00:27And as everyone saw this past weekend, we're prepared and postured to intercept them.
00:36Over a six hour period, the vessel and her crew repeatedly ignored U.S. warnings.
00:43And then the U.S. Navy destroyer executed a series of preplanned, carefully calibrated
00:50escalation options, including firing five warning shots.
00:54The vessel and her crew continued to ignore warnings.
00:59And after exhausting all other measures, CENTCOM authorized disabling fire against the Tuska.
01:06U.S. sailors warned the crew of the Tuska to abandon the engine room.
01:11And at approximately 9 a.m. Eastern time, the destroyer disabled the Tuska's engine by firing
01:18nine inert rounds from the destroyer's Mark 45 five inch guns precisely into the engine room and engine space on
01:29board the Tuska.
01:30Not surprisingly, the vessel then reported issues with their engine, went dead in the water and began to comply with
01:38U.S. directions and orders.
01:46And part of what the president is threatening is ensuring if there's attempts to lay recklessly and irresponsibly, lay more
01:52mines, we're going to deal with that.
01:53It's a violation of the ceasefire.
01:55So transit is occurring much more limited than anybody would like to see and with more risk than people would
02:01like to see.
02:02But that's because Iran is doing irresponsible things with small fast boats, crafts, like I said, with with weapons on
02:09them.
02:09These are commercial ships, in some cases, cruise ships, cruise ships that came through being threatened.
02:15And I know there's a lot of talks you saw the I would call it a silly conference in in
02:23Europe last week where they got together and talked about talking about maybe doing something eventually when things are done.
02:29Those are not serious efforts yet.
02:32We would welcome that we would welcome a serious European effort to do something about this straight and this passage,
02:39considering it's their energy capabilities that are most at stake.
02:43I think it's a wake up call. It's a wake up call for countries around the world.
02:46Either you have capabilities or you don't. Otherwise, you're at the behest of a country like Iran and the only
02:51country that can do something about it is the United States military.
02:55Iranian vessels either approaching or trying to breach the blockade.
