As tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to escalate, Iran has reportedly refused any proposal that would limit its control over the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. The latest developments are sending shockwaves through global markets, military circles, and diplomatic channels worldwide.

In this video, we break down why Iran rejects Trump’s Hormuz demand, what the IRGC’s position means for regional security, and how this dispute could impact the future of U.S.-Iran negotiations. 00:17Iran just dropped a bombshell about its deal with the U.S., and it's not what Washington wanted to hear.
00:24For months, this strait has been at the center of a global standoff, the Strait of Hormuz.
00:31One-fifth of the world's oil passes through it, and right now, Iran controls it.
00:37So here's the question everyone wants answered.
00:40If Iran and the U.S. sign a ceasefire deal, does Iran give that control back?
00:47According to Iran's own state media, the answer is no.
00:52IRNA, Iran's official news agency, says the draft agreement contains zero commitment from Tehran to hand back management of the
01:02strait or restore the pre-war status quo.
01:05Ships still need Iranian military permission to pass.
01:09That hasn't changed.
01:10And apparently, this draft doesn't change it either.
01:14Let that sink in.
01:15The U.S. could be about to sign off on a deal that leaves one of the most critical choke
01:21points in global trade under Iranian military control.
01:25Now, separately, Iran's mayor news agency published what it claims is the actual draft text, and it's packed.
01:33The war ends not just with the U.S. and Israel, but on the Lebanon front, too.
01:39Iran gets access to $24 billion of its frozen assets, U.S. sanctions on Iranian oil and petrochemicals get suspended,
01:49and the naval blockade that's been choking Iranian ports since April lifted completely.
01:55Iran is also demanding reparations and reconstruction funding of at least $300 billion.
02:02But here's the twist.
02:04Iran says final negotiations don't even start until half its frozen funds are released, oil sanctions are suspended,
02:12and the naval blockade is lifted.
02:15Tehran wants the concessions up front.
02:18And then there's the nuclear question, the issue that's haunted these talks from day one.
02:24IRNA says Iran will only negotiate its nuclear program within the framework of its Islamic Republic's fundamental principles,
02:33which, translated, means Iran's right to enrich uranium stays on the table, non-negotiable.
02:40Meanwhile, Iranian semi-official media outlet Mare released what it claims are the 14 points of the draft memorandum of
02:49understanding
02:49between the U.S. and Iran.
02:51According to Mare's report, which cites a source close to Iran's negotiating team,
02:57the draft calls for an immediate and permanent halt to fighting on all fronts, including Lebanon,
03:03and a U.S. pledge to not interfere in Iran's internal affairs.
03:08The draft reportedly calls for lifting the maritime blockade and reopening the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days,
03:16under Iranian arrangements, alongside a U.S. commitment to withdraw forces from areas around Iran.
03:23Meanwhile, Trump says he's called off planned strikes, and a deal could be signed within days.
03:30But Iran's foreign ministry is pumping the brakes, saying no final conclusion has been reached.
03:36So is this peace, or just a pause, with Iran holding most of the leverage?
