Movie: Let's Go to Prison (2006)
Ever wondered what would happen if a spoiled rich kid got thrown into one of the roughest prisons in America… for a crime he didn’t commit? Let’s Go to Prison flips the justice system upside down in this hilarious American comedy that’s part prison survival guide, part revenge masterpiece. In this movie recap, we break down how a man goes from courtroom to cellblock—and learns the hard way that money can’t save you when you’re locked up with real criminals.
This might sound like a comedy, but under the laughs is a real story about payback, justice, and adapting to a brutal world with your sanity (and dignity) intact. What starts as a setup turns into a full-blown war of wits and fists—with every inmate using their own secret fighting technique just to survive. Whether it’s dodging bullies, bribing guards, or going head-to-head with the prison boss, this is where we show you how to beat the system before it breaks you.
You’ll get the full ending explained, see all the behind-the-scenes twists, and find out why this classic prison comedy still hits hard for fans of Big Stan, Let’s Go Prison style movies, and chaotic justice tales with a punch.
And yes, this is American to the core—featuring savage humor, brutal cellblock justice, and the kind of over-the-top prison brawls only a comedy like this can deliver.

00:01So what's a beautiful white boy like you doing in a place like this?
00:07Wow, that's so cool. I still dress me up.
00:09John Lashinsky has just been released after his third stay in prison.
00:14Since childhood, I have been fascinated by the dark side of life.
00:17For eight years, John was transported in a van that carried a huge check with winning lotterys,
00:23but he was never able to cash it.
00:25The corrupt judge claimed that society needed to protect itself from despicable trash like him
00:30and sentenced him to seven years of imprisonment while he was still a minor.
00:34That was how his system ended up turning John into a hopeless criminal.
00:38At 18, he tried to rob some mail carriers, but emptied the gun when he decided to scare them.
00:43He was sentenced to four more years, and if he ever got caught again for some foolish crime,
00:48he would spend the rest of his life behind bars.
00:50Six months after serving that sentence, the judge sent him back to prison for vehicle theft.
00:55Upon his release, the young man decided that the first thing he would do was take revenge on the judges,
01:01although the problem was that the old man had died just three days earlier.
01:05Furious, he vented his anger by shooting at a phone booth,
01:08and later, in a bar, he came across an article about Judge Biederman's son.
01:12It seemed John had finally found his chance.
01:15It might not have been the judge himself, but he could make the judge's descendants' life miserable.
01:20The ex-convict broke into an event where the young man was giving a speech.
01:23There, he stole a few coins, emptied his inhaler, and even spat twice into his coffee.
01:29Nelson turned out to be an arrogant idiot, wasteful, and used to yelling at his father's fund managers.
01:35John followed him closely and watched as the asthmatic Nelson ran desperately trying to use the empty inhaler.
01:41Panicking, I have rushed into a pharmacy looking for a new one, knocking down shelves.
01:45A thief was insulting the store owner, while an addict was lamenting over his wife.
01:50The pharmacist finally found an inhaler, but upon seeing John waiting in the car,
01:54They thought he was his accomplice, and the family pulled out a gun to defend themselves.
01:58Then John fired into the air to confuse them, and the woman fired back.
02:02All of it was recorded by security cameras, which led John straight to the police station,
02:06where he tried to call the executives, but they told him that this time there would be no way out.
02:11He had to face the consequences.
02:13Nelson, arrogant as ever, appeared before the court accompanied by his lawyer,
02:17where John was also present, determined to take revenge on the sound of the judge who had ruined his life.
02:23With an arrogant tone, John said,
02:25All this is an misunderstanding, but since you're a woman, you wouldn't understand.
02:29Just let me go, and nothing will happen.
02:31According to the law, his fate will be left in the hands of the court.
02:34Before continuing with the story, I want to say this.
02:38I lost my channel after a year of hard work, but I won't give up.
02:42I'll achieve it again before this year ends.
02:45Your support, by subscribing and turning on notifications, means a lot to me.
02:50Now, let's continue with the story.
02:51The jury members are complete incompetence, according to their opinion.
02:55If this were proceeding correctly, they would notice through the security cameras
02:59that I have not committed any crime, unless they're elderly and cannot distinguish what really happened.
03:05Shortly after, the veterans realize that everything was premeditated,
03:09and after several speeches, they decide he is guilty.
03:12His legal defender comes to his aid, but not even he could handle that case.
03:16Finally, the court declared Nelson guilty of attempted theft
03:20and sentenced him to serve between three and five years in prison.
03:24John imagines how Biderman will be constantly humiliated and mistreated in jail,
03:28but for some reason, he doesn't feel any satisfaction.
03:32He doesn't want to personally harm the wealthy man,
03:34and when two undercover agents approached him to buy marijuana,
03:38he intended not to see them and by his own decision, returned to prison.
03:42He was determined to take revenge on that Biderman.
03:45His main purpose was to negotiate with the judge about the sentence duration,
03:49and they agreed on three to five years,
03:52except John expressly requested to serve his sentence in Rosmer.
03:56He even managed to get on the same bus as Nelson and immediately set things in motion.
04:01John invites the senior man to ask for a cell, and Nelson thanks him.
04:05That's how they treat each other among inmates.
04:07The criminals welcomed him, moderately speaking.
04:10Soon after, a new group of inmates arrived.
04:13They would greet the prison warden, who asked those who were innocent to raise their hands,
04:17promising that they would be released immediately.
04:19He raised his hand and was immediately stabbed in the abdomen.
04:24If anyone has a complaint, it's worth writing it on paper,
04:27then rolling it up into a tube and sticking it in their cell.
04:31That was the advice for newcomers.
04:33John already knew the guards there and bribed one to place him in the same cell as Biderman.
04:39Nelson walks down the hallway terrified by the murderers and thieves shouting insults at him.
04:44He finally arrives at his cell, a room barely two square meters in size.
04:48Johnny sits on the floor and immediately bursts into tears.
04:52He warned him to calm down before the others noticed,
04:54otherwise he wouldn't survive until the next week.
04:57Johnny demanded that his cellmate show him his wild smile,
05:01but Nelson only frowned as if he were constipated.
05:05Prisoners in the United States cost around $54 per person per day,
05:09which equals $75 million a day, that is $28 billion annually.
05:14It would be easier just to let them steal car radios,
05:18John remarked sarcastically.
05:19In the cafeteria, John warned Biderman of Leonard,
05:22one of the most influential inmates,
05:24and told him that when Leonard arrived, he should get up from the table.
05:27But right at that moment, Leonard murdered one of the prisoners.
05:30He was assaulted by Warden Shanahan, who asked John who had been responsible.
05:35John immediately pointed to Leonard,
05:37But later, in the cell, I explained that in prison, one must never snitch on others.
05:43Another curious thing inside the prison was the shower,
05:46where a huge guy named Barry noticed the attractive newcomer and began to approach him.
05:52However, John warned everyone that Nelson was his boy,
05:56and threatened another intimate that he would smash his face if he tried to get close to him.
06:00Nelson was grateful, although he had to push him away to avoid bigger problems.
06:04However, according to the deputy officer,
06:08nothing could be done without money,
06:10since all of Biderman's resources were in an account he no longer had access to,
06:14as the fund's president had been dismissed while he was incarcerated.
06:18John bribed an inmate to keep punching Nelson in the face.
06:22On top of that, the same prisoner started putting trash in his food,
06:26causing Nelson to have nightmares over and over again.
06:29Still, John couldn't get rid of the burly man,
06:32who kept inviting him to the showers with his rubber duck.
06:35To make matters worse, he didn't help himself either,
06:38As during exercise routines, he practiced yoga, which earned him a welcome punch.
06:44Despite everything, I continued to trust John,
06:47and the two talked while counting the days until they regained their freedom.
06:51However, that afternoon, one inmate grew impatient,
06:54and was willing to buy Nelson at any cost.
06:57The criminal agreed.
06:59Shanahan called John to go out and collect the waste and leave his cell.
07:03Nelson was taken away with a bag over his head
07:06and dragged into a room where candles were already burning and garlands were hanging.
07:11There, Barry followed him, offering him to relax and drink some of the wince he had.
07:16However, when he took him to the bathroom,
07:18Nelson immediately imagined a knife at his host's throat,
07:21when the latter lied to him, saying he wasn't fat.
07:24The inmate hated lies, and then explained that from that moment on,
07:28Nelson belonged to him and had to please him,
07:31although he was in no hurry to initiate him.
07:34Barry wanted Nelson to kiss him in the soul, and the two rubbed noses.
07:39Barry, a hopeless romantic, didn't plan to pounce on his white boy right away,
07:43but to take care of him first.
07:45Nelson wrote a letter to a pen pal, which enraged one of the Nazi inmates.
07:49Leonard, who had just been released from solitary confinement,
07:52was informed by Johnny that several prisoners were already betting on who would win,
07:56Leonard or Nelson.
07:58Nelson, naive, approached to apologize to Leonard for what had happened,
08:02but at that moment received a stab in the leg with a fork, and then another.
08:06Leonard also became angry because his father was just like Nelson,
08:10and confessed that he had killed his own father the same way he planned to finish off Nelson.
08:14Meanwhile, Barry continued his romantic relationship with John.
08:19The usher hid from Linda inside the crankcase,
08:22while John positioned himself behind Nelson and delivered a blow to the warden's face.
08:27The plan worked, but only in theory, since they didn't know how much time it had passed.
08:33Nelson began experiencing visions and delusions over two days.
08:37He decided he had had enough and went to the neighborhood pharmacy,
08:41where he asked the clerk for something that could end his life.
08:44The shopkeeper offered him a disinfectant and a syringe.
08:49Nelson shared his thoughts with a companion,
08:51confessing that he dreamed of lining up those idiots and amputating their limbs.
08:56Meanwhile, the servant's son read Nelson's letter in front of the entire class.
09:01Unexpectedly, Leonard visited Nelson's cell and drained him with gasoline,
09:06complaining that he wasn't Jewish,
09:08which meant it wouldn't be so easy to incinerate him.
09:11Nelson, stunned, defended himself fiercely and disfigured his attacker's face.
09:17Suddenly, the syringe filled with cleaner fell from his hand,
09:20and Lennart, noticing it, believed he was more resilient and injected himself with the chemical.
09:26He collapsed instantly.
09:27To everyone's surprise, Loopy Khan dragged the corpse of Leader Nugget down the hallway,
09:33but the most shocking sight was Johnny, who evidently had not anticipated this.
09:38From that day in prison, everything changed for Nelson.
09:42From then on, he became the protege of the White Brotherhood,
09:46and Bieber assumed the role of his godfather.
09:49However, Nelson could not truly dominate anyone,
09:52as romantic matters continued to be chaotic.
09:55Barry had ended up falling in love with him in recent months,
09:59and it pained him that he did not reciprocate his feelings.
10:02On one occasion, she almost strung him in the bathroom,
10:05driven by the shame she felt.
10:07Our protagonist also felt humiliated for having broken Barry's heart in that bathroom.
10:13At that moment, the other inmates rushed in to protect their friend,
10:17but Barry asked them not to intervene.
10:19Amid the commotion, John was mistakenly taken to solitary confinement.
10:24When he was released, he noticed that Biderman was already rebuilding the entire penitentiary
10:29and had even organized a musical with the inmates.
10:32John lost his mind watching how everything unfolded exactly as Nelson had wanted.
10:37In gratitude, Nelson thanked his cellmate for having prepared him for life behind bars.
10:43Still, John's revenge plan fell apart.
10:45The next day, there would be a hearing about Biderman's possible early release.
10:50Nelson got ready for the big moment, helped his loyal African-American friend,
10:55and John entered the cell to give Nelson a farewell gift, a can of soda.
10:59He wished him success at Biderman's hearing, but he was no longer so naive,
11:04and I noticed that she was unlocked.
11:06However, his cellmate intended to be offended by his friend's distrust
11:10and for everything they had been through together.
11:11And to prove that they were still allies, he drank from the can first.
11:16A moment later, I passed out.
11:18John vomited what he had ingested in the bathroom and, along with his accomplice,
11:22moved Nelson's body to another location.
11:25The next morning, the commission asked Nelson if he was ready to reintegrate into society.
11:29Of course, he answered affirmatively,
11:31without noticing that the phrase white power was written on his forehead.
11:35As a result, they denied him freedom.
11:38Nelson reacted immediately, attacking his cellmate with rage,
11:41and during the fight, he finally confessed that everything was connected to his father, the judge.
11:46Warden Shanahan was offended because a fight had been organized without his authorization,
11:50so I have proposed solving it on Friday in the yard through a fight to the death.
11:54The loser would die, and the winner would be executed by Shanahan himself.
11:59So that the local inmates wouldn't waste time, everyone let Shanahan take care of the matter.
12:03The prisoners not only bet on whether someone would end up with a broken skull or lose an ear to
12:07a bite,
12:08but also on who would emerge victorious.
12:11Barry visited Biederman, and the commission concluded that he had already reformed, all thanks to Nelson.
12:16So, for having helped him get out of prison, he asks him to return the favor.
12:20He reveals that an incident will occur inside the penitentiary,
12:23in which he should only go to the warden to arrange his transfer, as he is now his adopted son.
12:28Once that is done, he must obtain two body bags with a ventilation system,
12:32and carry out everything without asking questions.
12:34Nelson had an idea in mind.
12:37He contacted Dwayne and told him that if he remained impressed,
12:40he would hand over the management of the estate to his son.
12:44According to the letter, he would arrange for his release so that he could obtain all his wealth.
12:49The person in charge of his advisor's office was also aware of the arrangements for the deadly fight,
12:54and bet $50 on the novice.
12:57So, on Friday, the fighters entered the dining hall amid the shouts and cheers of the inmates.
13:03The rules were clear.
13:04Whoever died first would be lost.
13:06Nelson pulled out a screwdriver, but his opponent was even better prepared.
13:10A knife flew toward one of the spectators,
13:12and the second one broke against an improvised bulletproof vest that Nelson was wearing.
13:17However, they left the main weapon, a syringe filled with colorful liquids.
13:22Nelson delivered the final blow, but he was also injured.
13:26Shanahan declared a draw and ordered the crowd to disperse.
13:30They're dead, he said, so get them out before they start to stink.
13:35Geiderman was buried, and the only beneficiary was his adopted son,
13:38who received $8 million upon leaving the cemetery.
13:43Barry took a shovel and dug at night to rescue his stepfather.
13:46Before that, at the pharmacy, Nelson had requested a special formula that would put him into a coma,
13:52and Barry bribed the coroner.
13:55Nelson was already planning to leave, but Barry reminded him of Bugle Boy, who had saved John.
14:00If it hadn't been for that, they would never have met.
14:04Former rivals stayed apart for a year.
14:07Barry and Nelson opened a wine cellar called Petito,
14:10although it didn't attract the attention of any critic.
14:12No one liked their wine, not even themselves.
14:15John and a group of former inmates worked in the cellar,
14:18and although they promised to do their best,
14:20no one appreciated the wine, which had an unpleasant ammonia taste.
