00:00A young girl who has been trying to escape since the death of her mother is given the task of
00:04transporting a parrot through the jungle, becoming stranded there due to a vehicle breakdown,

00:34circles, and before he can regain his bearings, darkness arrives, along with a flock of crows
00:39leaving the forest. After climbing a tree in search of shelter, a loose piece of moss makes him fall
00:45just in time for some creatures to drag him to a well, and the man pleads for help.
00:50With the television in the background commenting on how rampant logging in Ireland is devastating
00:56a forest once considered sacred, Mina spends her time killing hours by drawing during her shift at a
01:01pet store. Her boss shows her his Baruba Macaw that was purchased by a zoo, but since the place does

02:27girl gets out of the car to inspect the surroundings, while the macaw seems to encourage her, until she
02:31reaches the no return sign, which somehow makes her sense that there must be people willing to help
02:36her in that region. So she takes the macaw and heads toward the sign, calling for help. Intelligence
02:41has always been a symbol of prestige and triumph. The exotic bird squawks to warn her not to go too
02:46far, but the young woman ignores it and loses sight of the shadow. Afterwards, the car ends up
02:51disappearing along with the road and all the land she had crossed. Before falling into despair, the girl
02:57moves forward, trying to orient herself, until, as night falls and she sees the birds fleeing, she assumes
03:03that everything is about to end. Then she names the macaw Dorwin to have someone to say goodbye to life
03:08with. But upon hearing noises in the forest, the young woman stands up to follow what she believes
03:13is a person, and purely by chance, she comes across a cabin. There, an old woman tells her that she
03:18must
03:18enter if she wants to save herself, and since she hears that something is stalking them, she ends up
03:23trusting her. Once inside, the girl discovers a kind of fortified shelter where this woman named Madeline
03:29introduces her to her two comrades, Kira and Donnie, who help her get back on her feet, as they claim
03:34that
03:35outsiders will want to closely observe any newcomer. The group holds hands and contemplates
03:39what seems to be a huge mirror. At the same time, they explain that the entities from the other side
03:44are known as the Watchers, beasts of the forest that appear every night to observe those who live
03:50there, only to hide at dawn. And since Mina is new, they place her at the front to welcome them.
03:56Mina remains seated until the dawn appears, and when the daylight emerges, she takes Darwin and heads to
04:02look for her car, but after taking a few steps, she begins to feel as if someone is stalking them,
04:07so she runs toward a cliff to get her bearings, discovering that, even though only 30% of the
04:12forest remains, it is enough to prevent her from seeing the road. A strange mist appears, while Madeline
04:19emerges behind Mina and explains that there is always someone trying to escape, but the fog and the shape
04:24of the forest create optical illusions, making it almost impossible to flee. Nevertheless, a path has been
04:31mapped with several markers in the forest that can more or less help orient oneself in a full circle
04:36that allows going to and returning from the site to the refuge before nightfall. However, beyond the
04:42so-called points of no return, it is impossible to locate oneself, and someone nicknamed the Professor
04:48was the first to venture into the forest and manage to find their bearings. On the second evening,
04:53the group tells Mina that while being there, she should behave as she normally would, except for some
04:58things they generally enjoy, such as Kira's dance. And seeing that what the girl does cannot be performed
05:03in that place, she simply sits to watch television until dawn. Another day, Kira teaches her about
05:09healing and edible plants, recounting that her husband John was with them until last week, when he
05:14supposedly went out to seek help. And noticing her companion's curiosity, she shows her that throughout
05:20the forest, there are a number of burrows, demonstrating that, although no one wishes to stay there forever,
05:25as long as they do not venture into the dens and only come out during the day, they can survive
05:30reasonably well. Although that was only to prevent her from running away again, because when they see
05:34her making her drawings instead of looking for ways to help, they recite all the rules to her.
05:39Never turn your back on the mirror. Do not open the door if it is dim. Do not approach the

05:45Always stay under the light. On the third night, since Mina got tired of the reality show broadcast on
05:51television, she begins to observe the mirror, brushing it with her hand to see if anyone could

06:01the mirror until Madeline turns her to face it and thus calm the creatures. The next day, Daniel asks

06:11watchers might be fake or not so dangerous. She presents it with the intention of persuading him and
06:16getting him to help her enter one of the dens to discover the truth. Inside the den, Mina takes out
06:22her lighter to illuminate the surroundings a little, finding various old objects, a printed diary,
06:27a broken video camera, and some stuffed dolls that show that several children have gone missing.
06:31However, what really captures her interest is a bicycle that could help them move more quickly
06:36across the terrain. When she gets on the bicycle, she begins to hear a creature behind her,
06:41asking Daniel for help while watching a hand burn under the light. Mina invents that the
06:46belongings they found came from a camp in the forest to convince the others to come up with
06:50a way to escape. But before Madeline begins to distrust her, Daniel clarifies that all the
06:55electronic devices do work near the refuge, using the old camera to keep the watchers under
06:59surveillance. On this occasion, the watchers do not appear, but during dinner, a man arrives at the
07:04entrance, coughing and knocking on the door, and Kira identifies him as John. All of this leads
07:10Madeline to deduce what happened, and after telling Mina the truth about how selfish she is for playing
07:15with the existence of others, she asks Kira to pose a question to John that only he would know
07:20how to answer. However, she fails, and when he shows his face to the camera, a force drags him away
07:26while the watchers react with anger for not being able to deceive them, although this time they decide
07:31to spare his life. To remain calm, Madeline returns the watchers' belongings to them in the morning
07:37and orders Mina to stop putting the others at risk. Having exposed everyone for her whims makes Mina
07:42recall the days with her mother and sister. Although they had a good relationship, her mother
07:46always scolded her for not following the rules and for being a stubborn girl. Everything ended one day
07:52while they were traveling on the highway. Her mother asked her to keep the window closed, and to annoy her,
07:57the girl continued rolling down the glass until the woman turned to argue with her without noticing a
08:01truck that ended up crashing and taking her life. Time passes until winter arrives, where the situation
08:08becomes increasingly tense because food begins to run out, generating disputes between Danny and Madeline
08:13and plunging Kira into sadness. One afternoon, Mina prevents Kira from being captured by the creatures,
08:19while Daniel goes mad and ties Madeline to a tree, locking himself in the shelter with Kira so that the
08:25watchers can devour Mina and Madeline. However, Madeline leads Mina to a place where they can hide,
08:30and although they're about to be discovered, all the watchers head to the room to question
08:35what happened to Madeline. As Daniel always manages to be even more ruthless, he betrays his companions
08:41to the entity so that they go after them, and taking advantage of the fact that they have moved away,
08:45the two women beg Daniel for support. And since Kira seems not to have a shred of courage, Mina persuades
08:51Daniel by subtly hinting at what happened with her mother, moving the boy enough to allow them in.
08:56After scolding Daniel for being foolish, Madeline confesses that she is the second person in the shelter
09:00who entered with full knowledge of what was inside, because thanks to her past as a teacher,
09:05she was aware of the legend circulating about the famous sacred forest. However, it wasn't until
09:09she found the hideout and observed a watcher that she understood the danger she had gotten into,
09:14because she discovered that those watchers could imitate parts of her body to deceive her,
09:18realizing then that, in reality, the watchers were fairies. When the fairies realize that they
09:23were tricked into saving the two, they try to break in, while inside the shelter, they try to block
09:28the entrance. At that moment, they discover a hidden hatch under the shelter, and since the watchers seem
09:33determined to exterminate them for so many foolish acts, they decide to go down there.
09:37Beneath the bunker hides a clandestine laboratory with supplies, manuscripts, sketches, and various
09:43objects related to the creatures. Mina begins to investigate, finding an old computer with multiple
09:48recordings from the professor. The professor recounts that in 2009, he ventured into the forest to build
09:53a fortress in order to study the watchers, who showed a fascination with observing human beings.
09:57Over time, the creatures slowly began to replicate his body in order to confuse and kill him.
10:03In addition, he admits that he used several villagers to build the bunker, which he named
10:06Wonderland, executing them after sunset so that no one would discover his research.
10:10As time passed, the master began to devise different ways to take advantage of the watchers
10:16and their ability to imitate for various purposes, being a girl identical to a human,
10:22person, although rejected by others. The subject understood that it was feasible to achieve the
10:27replica at an unprecedented level, which led him to capture a fairy to study her. After a year
10:34analyzing the captured fairy, he realized that she had actually transformed into a monstrosity
10:40for having manipulated the existences of people and spirits in order to overcome his own traumas.
10:46He then decided to put an end to everything by eliminating the fairy he had kept imprisoned
10:52and subsequently taking his own life, leaving a message so that anyone who was trapped could
10:58escape by following the trail of the boat placed beyond point 134, with the instruction to observe
11:04the birds fleeing the forest to find the way out, as well as begging that his studies be destroyed
11:09to prevent others from falling into the traps. With that revelation, Mina organizes the escape at dawn
11:16and Kira celebrates with Danny that they will finally be free, which motivates the young man
11:20to open up and confess that he came from a broken home and had left to avoid enduring his father's
11:26abuse, being comforted by his companion. With the arrival of the morning, upon emerging,
11:31they discover that the watchers have ransacked the underground shelter, which gives them the courage
11:36to escape, while Madeline warns them that the forest will try to deceive them now that it senses
11:41everyone will leave, so it is vital that they stay together. After spotting the point of no return
11:46around noon, the group frees Darwin in order to move forward without waiting until nightfall.
11:51Upon venturing into the heart of the forest, they find an ancient seal for the fairies,
11:56and Madeline recounts that in ancient times, humans and fairies coexisted in balance,
12:02with the latter serving as spirits that taught people to honor nature.
12:05However, when the men realized that the nymphs were considerably stronger than them,
12:10they deceived them and locked them in the sacred forest, forcing them to live underground.
12:15Over the centuries, the fairies managed to free themselves with half of the seal,
12:19emerging into the outside world, only to discover that so many years buried had drained their magical
12:25energy to the limit. Moreover, their wings were taken along with the ability to fly,
12:30and they became fragile in the sunlight, condemning them to remain forever in the forest.
12:35Time was running out because the rain caused it to get dark earlier,
12:39so the watchers emerged from their hiding places and pursued the protagonists.
12:44After much fleeing, they found the boat, and while the three women did everything they could to
12:48release it, Danny ignored Madeline's warnings and approached an injured person to help them board.
12:54The guardian took the opportunity to kill him and take on his appearance.
12:58Since the others managed to get the vessel moving, the survivors were carried away by the current,
13:03and as no observer could leave the forest lands, they managed to float to the road where a bus
13:09picked them up and transported them to the city of Galway. The women reached the town and settled
13:14into a small apartment so that Mina could destroy the research the next morning. After a thorough
13:19cleaning, the girl remembered that after the car accident that ended her mother's life,
13:24her sister Lucy had blamed her for the tragedy, which caused the young woman to no longer want to

14:10This leads the professor to question whether they all truly stayed in the forest,
14:14or if some preferred to escape to live among humans, pretending to be part of them. With this
14:20information, and thanks to a photograph, Mina decides to go to Kira's house to tell her about
14:25her adventure. But in the end, she reveals that Madeline seemed to be the professor's wife,
14:30except for one small detail. Madeline had died of cancer two years before the research,
14:36exposing that the man's entire study had been to create a replica of his wife and educate her to
14:42truly become her. However, just as Kira was trying to process all of this, we see Kira return home.
14:50Realizing that she had been discovered, Madeline takes on Mina's appearance and attempts to kill
14:54them. But Mina explains that she doesn't have to kill her, since she is not actually a pure fairy,
15:00but a Hellfix, which explains how she can perfectly imitate Madeline, survive under sunlight,
15:05and develop feelings more typical of humans. And although she is aware that by appearing different
15:10from others, she could be perceived as a monster, she has the ability to find those who are similar
15:14to her, without them knowing, in order to teach them to live in harmony with humans. The hope of
15:19forming a group of individuals like her, who would be accepted, leads Hellfix to temporarily set aside
15:24her resentment toward humans, thus regaining her wings, and bidding farewell to Mina by telling her
15:29that she hopes she is right, and that she has the option not to remain alone. With everything in order,
15:35Mina goes to attend to Kira, and finally decides to leave the past behind,
15:40her sister, and tell her what she has accomplished, revealing that Madeline occasionally visits her
15:44in secret, taking on the appearance of the girl the professor had seen before. Lucy tries to comfort
15:49her sister, by assuring her that things will improve over time, and finally introduces her to her
15:54nephews, while we see that Mina chose to keep Darwin, although this time she keeps him out of his cage.
16:00And just as Darwin looks out the window, Madeline appears transformed into the girl to watch over her.
