01:12and today we focus on one of the most critical under predicting future development which is energy
01:24energy is not just a sector it is the backbone of everything we want to achieve
01:29from health care to education to industry to tourism
01:37because without reliable power progress cannot move forward
01:44Sabu is growing fast our economy is expanding investments are coming in and opportunities
01:51are increasing but with that growth comes a reality we must face
01:56our demand for power is rising fast an estimated 150 megawatts increase every year
02:04at the same time Sabu continues to rely heavily heavily on important power so we ask ourselves
02:11how do we bridge this gap under my administration we are not waiting we are acting we are working
02:22with actiona energia philippines for an additional 150 megawatts solar power plant
02:29targeted to begin construction within this year this is part of our commitment to build a cleaner more
02:36more sustainable energy mix for sabu at the same time we are also addressing present challenges
02:44with the ongoing oil crisis we are moving to redevelop the alegrÃa oil field the mode the first
02:53onshore oil field is covered in philippines with an estimated 27.93 million barrels of oil in place
03:02and 3.35 million barrels recoverable this is a strategic resource that can help strengthen our energy security
03:15but we are not thinking short term we are aligning with the philippine energy plan 2023-2050 which aims
03:24to reach 40 percent renewable energy by 2030 and more than 50 percent by 2040 in support of this the
03:35province
03:35of sabu will develop a provincial energy master plan one that integrates national direction local priorities
03:44and private sector initiatives we will bring together efforts already happily in sabu from solar
03:52development to initiatives in toledo to investments in medidia mitsumi in danao and explore some opportunities in
04:03wind hydro and other renewable technologies because our goal is clear as a goal that is energy secure
04:12climate climate climate resilient and future ready and because energy is also about mobility we are pushing for mass
04:24evie transportation in sabu with our partnership with electric with global electric transport philippines
04:31and with support from dpi and dotr we aim to roll out 100 electric buses across metro sabu component cities
04:41and even
04:41island areas such as bantayan and kamotes this will improve mobility reduced cost and support tourism and local economies
