'Unusual' Adelaide warm weather sees residents soak up sun at beach

It's less than six weeks until the start of winter but you could be forgiven for thinking it's been more like summer across much of the state. In Adelaide the mercury's topped 29-degrees for the past three days and the weather bureau's saying temperatures may not really start to cool down until next month.

00:35So we're enjoying this still April that feels like summer.

00:39A high of almost 30 degrees brought crowds from far and wide.

00:44And Adelaide's not expected to cool down any time soon.

00:47What's unusual about this week's weather is the prolonged nature of the spell of heat across Adelaide.

00:53Seeing so many successive days above 27, 28 degrees is very unusual.

00:58The balmy weather is expected to continue into the weekend with a warmer than usual ANZAC day on the cards.

01:04Although rains are also being forecast, the weather bureau says those planning to attend dawn services should be in the

01:11clear.

01:11On Saturday early on anyone getting up for the crack of dawn should still be seeing the dry, settled and

01:17mild conditions.

01:18But perhaps later in the day we could see some of that rainfall moving through.

01:22But it doesn't look like a lot.

01:23The unpredictable autumn weather is also raising questions for grain farmers looking for a break in the season.
