00:00We won these two seats as well in the person of Mr. Samson and Mr. Thomas.
00:07Over the last year we have seen considerable firsts and considerable gains.
00:15Certainly we have had percentage-wise the highest percentage offering from a
00:22national budget at five percent. We have also seen immediate response to changes
00:31within the THA Act pursuant to the last election that we have had.
00:37Mr. Augustine said in areas such as the laptop program, the Tobago Marine Park Bill
00:43going to Parliament, the Tobago Autonomy Bill in focus, and the Studley Park Quarry
00:49license Tobago has gained under the UNC.
00:53We got an export license for the Studley Park, which is also a historical first.
01:00We have had a seamless transition in the provision of some national policies.
01:09So for example, the government reintroduced the laptop policy and Tobago was actually
01:14the very first place in the entire country that laptops were given to the school children.
01:22And that's for me a huge mark of respect.
01:26Mr. Augustine said finally Tobago is being respected.
01:29All in all, we have been seeing by the actions of the government, a heightened measure of
01:37respect for the people of Tobago and more so for the government on the island here in Tobago.
01:42Okay. And in terms of moving forward, do you think that this will continue to align
01:49measurably for the Tobago House of Assembly?
01:52I hope so. And yes, I anticipate that there would be times that we may not agree, or times that
02:01we
02:02will have a different method to achieve something. But I think given how we have started, we will be
02:12able to continue within a framework where Tobago gets measurable response.
