00:00This is a complete waste of money, a complete waste of money, and it shouldn't go ahead.
00:05I have been to France, I've seen the camps in which the migrants are living in plain sight.
00:11I've watched them walking through the streets with the police officers and people seeing them going to the beaches.
00:19The French are doing next to nothing to stop this.
00:22So it's simply pouring good money after bad.
00:26You do not rely on the kindness of the French to protect our borders.
00:32That is the lesson of recent years.
00:34The only way to stop the boats is for us, the United Kingdom, to have the backbone to leave the
00:41European Convention on Human Rights,
00:42end the merry-go-round of legal claims and have our own deterrent.
00:47So that absolutely everyone in those camps, thinking of coming to the UK, knows that they will be detained and
00:53deported
00:54and they will never have a life in the UK.
00:57That is what reform would do.
00:59Unfortunately, under this Labour government, we're just going to see thousands and thousands of more illegal migrants
01:05breaking into our country this summer and every year until there's a general election.
01:10And the great British public are going to be paying for the privilege, giving the French hundreds of millions of
01:15pounds.
01:16We're just going to see you in the next couple of years.
