00:00that in this new agreement we will see an upwards of 40% uplift in law enforcement officers,
00:07particularly the new specialist capabilities that we will have with those who are trained
00:13in riot policing as well as greater intelligence gathering as well.
00:18Why is that so important to us?
00:20Because these are the interventions, this is the right mix of skills and capabilities
00:25that we know will work on the beaches in order to reduce the crossings that we are seeing.
00:32So an incredibly important element of this deal and I'm very grateful to the Minister and the team
00:38for the uplift in the law enforcement that we are going to see.
00:42Another incredibly important development in terms of degrading the business model of the people smuggling gangs,
00:49which is at the heart of this trade in human beings, is the increased use of maritime tactics.
