00:00Ambassador, what do you think? Is Iran in the weaker position here and will they accept a nice
00:07end or do you think there's no such thing in these negotiations? First of all, I think this
00:12war and all the wars are basically unnecessary wars because if objectives have to be achieved,
00:19they can be achieved in a better way through diplomacy. But, you know, it never happens and
00:23wars happen and then wars have to be brought to an end through diplomacy. There is never a nicer
00:29end to the war because they bring a lot of destruction, a lot of humanitarian catastrophes
00:34we have seen in this war also. And now after, you know, almost 40 days since the war started
00:41on 28th of February, we are looking at diplomacy. Pakistan has been playing this role. Other
00:47countries have also been playing this role. Issues are very complex. Issues between United
00:52States and Iran, they are not just, they have not been developed just during this war, but
00:58they are 47 years or even more old. And now, you know, we are at a stage where we are
01:05looking
01:05at some opportunity to reach a ceasefire, I mean, a permanent ceasefire. Now, it depends
01:10whether we can go towards a comprehensive peace agreement. If suppose that parties agree on
01:15difficult issues like nuclear issue and straight of foremost, and if there is, although their
01:21statements are not indicating until now, but if they reach some kind of understanding for developing
01:28a comprehensive agreement in the next few weeks, and they develop a comprehensive agreement, then
01:33there can be a qualitative change in US and Iran relations. But, you know, it is very difficult to
01:41have this kind of optimism at this moment. So, it is quite possible, as my predecessor, my previous
01:46speaker has also said, that there are complex issues. And it is quite possible that we see continuation of
01:53the conflict, if not in this form, maybe in Israel-Lebanon front or in some other parts. So, it is
02:00a complex
02:01issue and I think it will linger on for some time.
