00:00And Jim, in response to Trump's threats, Iran says bring it on and warned Iranians will bleed to defend their
00:08nation.
00:09How much of Iran's threat is actually capability versus rhetoric, do you think?
00:14Well, of course, it's a lot of rhetoric and there's a lot of rhetoric coming from both sides.
00:18But certainly the U.S. has the capability and has destroyed a lot of the capability of Iran.
00:23But as we just saw, obviously, they had a surface-to-air missile that seemed to work.
00:29And so they still have some capability.
00:32But again, for Iran, this is an asymmetric battle that they're waging here.
00:39They just have to survive.
00:42They just have to be resilient and every day live to fight the next day.
00:48And so they probably don't have much of a capability now.
00:52But they have enough to cast doubt about the straits and whether they can be open or not.
00:57They've got enough to send a missile every now and then into the neighboring countryside in some of the Gulf
01:04states.
01:05They've got enough to stay in the fight and to be worrisome to us.
01:10And so it really, to the United States, our issue is how do you deal with this asymmetric capability that
01:17Iran has?
01:18And what will it take to get Iran to sit down and for us to talk about a ceasefire?
01:24Or are they happy to lob a missile every now and then?
01:28And meanwhile, watching the U.S. have to deal with the outcome of an asymmetric battle in their hands.
01:36And we'll be here for the next one.
01:37You
