00:17Today, we're going to be giving you the first look at our next Adventure Zone in Expansion,
00:21the Royal Highlands.
00:22We're going to take you on a sneak peek tour of the new map,
00:25talk about some of the things that we're most excited about,
00:27and maybe share a few surprises along the way.
00:30You might have noticed it's been several weeks since our last patch.
00:33Nuskiz, the team's been working hard on making sure the Royal Highlands is as good as it can be.
00:37And we're happy to share that the Royal Highlands is coming in our next patch.
00:42For now, let's ride in and discuss some of the content that you can expect in the Royal Highlands.
00:47The Royal Highlands is our third Adventure Zone and our most ambitious one yet,
00:51even larger than Bihari Bay.
00:52And there's a whole lot to do.
00:53While exploring the map, you're going to find new materials,
00:56find some new insects you can catch, reel in some regional fish,
01:00hunt the Amber Royal Cernic.
01:02There's truly something over every hill.
01:04The Amber Royal Cernic sounds majestic.
01:06It is, but not just because of its namesake.
01:08Amber Echo plays a huge role in the Royal Highlands, including the Expansion story.
01:13Amber Echo has spread across the Royal Highlands,
01:15encapsulating and trapping anything and anyone caught in its snare.
01:19Not much is understood about Amber Echo,
01:21but only that those trapped within it are frozen in time for years, decades,
01:25maybe even a millennium.
01:26Ro-Ro.
01:27In the Royal Highlands,
01:28players are going to meet our newest villager, Echelon,
01:30heir to the Bihari dukedom,
01:32who's been sent to investigate alongside you and Sibira.
01:35He's handsome, too.
01:36No, he is.
01:37But we're getting too far in the weeds,
01:38and we want to save some surprises for you
01:40when you dive into the map yourself.
01:41Sounds like players could use some help getting around such a large area.
01:44Yeah, and we know tackling a wide-open region can feel daunting,
01:47so we're introducing a new traversal option
01:49so you'll never have to hoof it alone.

01:53Nay.
01:53Good old-fashioned mounts, starting with horses.
01:56We've been raring to tell y'all that horses are coming to Palea.
01:59Similar to ancient humans,
02:01horses haven't been seen in thousands of years
02:03and have been thought to be lost to time.
02:05However, when the expansion launches,
02:06you'll be able to meet, acquire, and ride your very own horse
02:10through the Royal Highlands.
02:11The massive open-air concept of the Royal Highlands map
02:13was specifically designed to showcase
02:15how mounts will benefit you all as players.
02:17You'll notice that horses have multiple gaits,
02:19so it's pretty clear when your horse is still picking up the pace
02:21and accelerating into its top speed.
02:23For our equestrian enthusiasts,
02:25you'll be happy to know that the team studied equine movement
02:28and worked hard to strike the right balance
02:29between responsive controls and realistic movement.
02:32That's right.
02:32We wanted the horse-riding experience to feel grounded and tactile,
02:35but also give you the confidence and the controls
02:37to be able to sit back, relax, and take in the journey
02:40between your destinations.
02:41And you're not limited to riding the horse
02:43just in the Royal Highlands.
02:44While you'll need to head to the Royal Highlands
02:46to acquire a horse,
02:47you can mount up and ride with your companion
02:49in most open areas.
02:51You won't be able to pack a herd of horses
02:52into the underground, for example,
02:54so no horsing around on the hot pot tables.
02:56But you can ride your horse on your home plot.
02:58Now at launch, you can expect three horse breeds.
03:00The Dawnspur with a classic look,
03:03the fiery, dramatic Phoenix Fire Dawnspur,
03:06and the elegant, swift, Arabian-inspired
03:08Maquindu Thoroughbred.
03:10Each breed carries its own aesthetic identity,
03:13but they're all raring to help you explore faster
03:15and feel more connected to the world.
03:17And horses are another way to add a bit of flaring uniqueness
03:19that is distinctly paleoing through the ranching skill.
03:22Through ranching, you can breed and raise
03:24your own stable of horses,
03:26each with their own distinctive visual and gameplay traits
03:28tailored to your horse and your riding style.
03:32We've included a variety of coats
03:33taking inspiration from the real world,
03:35but we've also added some more fantastical,
03:38rarer looks and patterns
03:39that could appeal to you with a creative eye.
03:41You'll find me on my iridescent pink pony
03:43when this update goes live.
03:45Mounts will also have functional traits
03:46that can influence how they ride out in the world,
03:48so you'll be able to truly breed your dream horse.
03:51And we're celebrating mounts
03:53with our first ever mounted community challenge,
03:55the Long Ride Event.
03:56During the Long Ride, the entire Paleon community
03:59will collectively track distance traveled on mounts.
04:01As milestones are reached,
04:03reward tiers are unlocked for everyone.
04:05So, when you're exploring the Royal Highlands
04:07with your new equestrian pal,
04:09remember that every hoof beat counts.
04:11Yeehaw!
04:12But let's stop horsing around and let's talk housing.
04:14With the Royal Highlands,
04:15we're introducing a brand new homeline
04:17inspired by ancient human architecture.
04:19This is our most elegant homeline yet.
04:21And yes, it's time to take your home
04:23to the next level, literally.
04:25In our last patch,
04:26we allowed you to increase the number of buildings
04:28you could have connected together.
04:30With the ancient human homeline,
04:32we're going to be giving you a capstone
04:33that raises the number of levels you can have.
04:36The ancient human homeline
04:38is unlockable through our newest lunar path,
04:40the Path of the Pony.
04:41As with previous lunar paths,
04:42this is an evergreen progression track.
04:45There's no expiration date and no pressure.
04:47You're free to play at your own pace.
04:49The Path of the Pony
04:50includes the ancient human homeline modules
04:52such as the awning, railing, new windows,
04:55as well as some decor rewards
04:56and horse treats for you to explore.
04:58We've talked horses.
05:00We've talked housing.
05:01Now let's talk style.
05:02The Royal Highlands introduces
05:04our most ornate decor collection to date,
05:06the Aristocrat set.
05:08These pieces are ornate, dramatic,
05:10and unapologetically luxurious.
05:12We want you to create
05:13your own maximalist mansion.
05:15You're going to want to show off these pieces,
05:17but we also want to make sure
05:18that you could store them.
05:20So we're going to be introducing
05:21a new storage tier
05:22that's going to increase
05:23your overall storage capacity by 4,000.
05:26Love that.
05:27But I've been dying to give more info
05:29about our expanded dye system for outfits.
05:31So back in a previous Paleopath,
05:33we mentioned we had some dye system
05:35upgrades in the works.
05:36Now you'll finally be able to apply dyes
05:38that you've already unlocked
05:39to your existing outfits.
05:41You'll also see more diamond
05:42you polish more palettes
05:43to further customize
05:44your perfect paleon look.
05:46In short,

05:48is about to level up.
