00:05with abusing his position to obtain funds totalling over RM136,000 for personal benefit.
00:13Hazri Hassan, 57, who is also the Director General of the Survey and Mapping Department,
00:19pleaded not guilty after the two charges were read to him before Judge Susanna Husin.
00:24He is accused of using his position as chairman of the Land Surveyor's Board
00:30to corruptly obtain a total of RM136,115 by participating in board meetings
00:38that deliberated on his attendance at international forums in Saudi Arabia and the US.
00:44The offences allegedly took place at the board's office at Pusat Bandar Malawati
00:50between August 3 and December 31, 2024.
00:53The charges were framed under Section 23 of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009
00:59for using office or power for gratification.
01:03Susanna granted Hazri bail of RM70,000 with one surety.
01:07She also ordered him to surrender his passport to the court pending the conclusion of the case.
