00:00then what areas are we targeting? We're doing right from underneath her um goggles here to
00:06the back of her cheek up here. There's some areas missed. So let's look at the size of the crystal.
00:11Okay. Okay so it's longer it's different than what you're used to. It's longer and it's not as wide
00:16so I'm thinking you might want to expect the surface area of gel you might want to
00:21go a little bit more on that. Okay. I'm just gonna touch your face. Do you want to give her
00:27um a pulse in here to take down some redness? Sure we can do that. Okay.
00:33So she's a little red on her chin. We can take that down. So just
00:49Okay and so now turn it on. Yep. Let her feel in her hand what to expect.
00:56Cabbage and jelly up. No just to feel how cold it is. Yes. Right we don't want it to be
01:01a surprise.
01:02So she's just gonna show you how what's gonna go on your face. Oh I wasn't it was just really
01:07for
01:07her to feel how cold it was. That's okay. I thought the same thing you did. That's okay.
01:12I'm glad you shared that with me. I will change how I breathe that. It's when you said like she
01:17had some
01:17jelly. Okay yeah so stand above her head or do you usually work on the side? I use it. Okay
01:24so you
01:25want to put a little bit of pressure otherwise you can do put reposition your handpiece and get
01:29more of a okay. Now the thing is we don't want to hold it on the skin too long because
01:34it will cause
01:35frostbite. Okay so I don't think this is down far enough. Okay. There we go. Yeah. I want to make
01:42sure
01:43we get that spot there. Okay. Right there and pulse.
01:50Is this colder than the other machine stuff? Yeah. Okay. Nice. I feel brighter.
01:58No I don't know. Maybe it's the gobbles that I've got that don't seem like it's right.
02:04Don't have a lot of gel there so let's just smear it.
02:11So let's change the settings for the chin. Okay. If we're focusing on vascular we'll just
02:16focus on vascular. Okay that's what you were doing is vascularization on there? Yeah. Okay on here.
02:26My hair piece now he should have put it back on.
02:32And how are you feeling?
02:39Hey am I want to come and take a look?
02:45So we're getting some response. So let's do a stack on there. Okay. Okay.
02:49Still Miss Walker? Mm-hmm. Just do a stack.
02:54No just back-to-back stack. What do you mean?
02:59Okay. I don't know what you mean by stack. Sorry. Oh. So I'm going to come in and
03:03do a stack on that. Oh. Just two pulses at once? Yeah. That's a stack. You can go three.
03:10Right. But get to know this device and then watch for the response. So she's getting some response.
03:15Mm-hmm. Okay. Then we can change it for her chin. Yeah. So go change it for the chin.
03:21So you're going to pause it. No. You can stack a couple of times. Okay. First your lips together.
03:26For me steps. Perfect. I'm feeling okay? Mm-hmm.
03:47That definitely hurt more on my chin. Did it? Okay. In different settings so. Yeah.
03:51I know it. And you're proud of it. Roll your chin up. Your lips. Sorry. Crush your lips. Okay.
04:07Very nice.
04:11Go ahead. I didn't feel how cold that is. Oh. Hmm? Is that cold? You've done it cold?
04:18After wash. She spots. But when you are pulsing, it does. I mean, you've got that energy. It's going
04:24to warm it up a bit. But when you make contact with the skin, it's pretty frosty. And if you
04:28look at
04:28the chin, you can see some of the, the vascular, a little bit of tonitization that is breaking up.
04:33So what happens when it breaks up is actually comes brighter. So two things. It's going to get redder
04:38and more pronounced. And she didn't have a lot of distinction there, but it was red. Look at her arms
04:44too,
04:44right? She really, I mean, this is also where it would show and there's nothing.
04:48She's very, he's got a couple of them. Those are beauty marks.
04:53So what would you think? The skin? No, we, we did the freckles first. Oh,
04:59the freckles first. You can go half point. You can go 2.5. Okay.
05:10And so your skin on your tummy or areas that you don't normally expose, would you say it was more
05:17of
05:17a pale with a beige tint or more pinky base? Okay. Because person with a pale with a beige tint
05:26could
05:26be super pale, right? But it's going to have more of that light olive complexion versus a pinky like
05:32peaches and cream. Okay. So two. All right. So two, four, six point eight point five. Okay. And now we're
05:41looking, oops, do you want to come over here? And now we're looking at how her pigment responds. So
05:46when you're in the sun too long, do you ever burn? Sometimes. Sometimes. Sometimes. First exposure
05:52of the year, and then you can build a base. Okay. Do you ever peel? No. So when you say
05:59sometimes,
05:59did you say burning is rare or is it really that first time of the year? That first time. Okay.
06:08So I would say 2.5. Yeah. You think? Yeah. Okay. Up to what degree do you turn brown? Do
06:13you feel you
06:14can get a pretty reasonable tan if you were to work on it? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Um,
06:20So remember, we look back at her ethnic background. She's also French. We'll go Canadian.
06:30So what would you think? Reasonable tan too. When you're out in the sun, let's say it's your
06:38first exposure. Okay. Are you going to get a tan the first day? We're not talking dark tan, but are
06:44you going to get pigment response? Color. Yeah. Okay. Not red, but actual pigment. Yeah. Okay.
06:50So then over the course of the next couple of days, do you find that pigment gets a little bit
06:54darker?
06:55Yeah. Okay. Because a person who's a fits three, and again, I'm looking at her effect background,
07:00so I'm gleaning some information. So if she was a three, the first exposure of the year, it's, you know,
07:07a little bit of a burn that goes away and then you tan after that. But if she's a light
07:10four,
07:12she's going to get that pigment changing over the next couple of days and it's going to deepen,
07:16whereas a three wouldn't get any pigment, they get red and then you would build on from there. Right?
07:22So, but okay. So I think I misunderstood your question too. So is she continuously out in the sun
07:29and the pigments getting darker or? No, if she were out. So let me back up and say that again,
07:35when you are outside first exposure of the year and you get a little bit of a tan,
07:39you're getting a pigment response. Now over the next couple of days, maybe without exposure,
07:45is that pigment still deepening a bit? Oh, I don't know. I would say probably
07:51not after the burn fades and that's pretty much the color it stays.
07:58Until you start, it's floating again. Okay.
08:02Yeah. Oh, so that, you know, for somebody who's on the cast and you're wondering,
08:07that question will answer that for you. Okay. So she can get a rich tan. When you do get a
08:15tan
08:15and now you're no longer in the sun, how long does that tan last? How long does it take to
08:20fade?
08:20Is it weeks? Is it a month? Is it a month and a half? A month. So you hold on
08:26your tan pretty good.
08:27Okay. All right. Uh, so easy tan and she is that sometimes person who put her as a two there.
08:38And then how is your face when you're in the sun? Are you sensitive? Are you normal?
08:42No. Pretty resistant? Yeah. Okay. There. It's a 2, 4, 6, 8.5. Okay. So it's 19.
08:53And now here, when was, we're working on legs. So we'll focus on legs. Okay. Yes.
09:00When was your last sun exposure or tanning beds? Have you had spray tans?
09:05No. Um, summer? Summer. So it's been a while ago. It's been a little bit. Yeah.
09:13Okay. And so lifestyle. Are you just a summer in the sun kind of gal or do you do vacations
09:21in the
09:21winter? How often are you outside? Well, the second question, whenever there's sun, I'm outside,
09:28but well, then my legs are at school. So that was different. Um, probably one sunny vacation during
09:35winter. Yeah. Okay. So I'd still say she's a sometimes person. Okay. So we said 17 or it was 17,
09:44right? So eight. So she's a 19 here on the other side. Yeah. It was 16, 17, 17. It was
09:5317. Yeah.
09:55So she's a 19. So that puts her right at a fits three. Now, if she were right on the
10:0225,
10:02that could be a three or it could be a four. And so in her relaxed position,
10:07I'm just going to take the pencil and run down the side of the leg
10:12and here. So when she does turn over into her tummy, is that scratching you, dear? Um, when she
10:18turns over to her tummy, then you have a very small space. Okay. And that's all you
10:24need to do. And then you just work one square at a time. Okay. So this is perfect for doing
10:30an in
10:31motion. The key though, with, with hair removal is a constant and good firm pressure. Okay.
10:41Especially when you're doing stacks, when you're doing glides, um, you still want a little bit of
10:46pressure and that's where it's different from skin rejuvenation. Yeah.
10:49Yeah. Okay.
10:58Okay. So nice thick layer. I'm not worrying about, you know, just being right precisely on the border.
11:08And what we'll do is when we're done this square, we will then move and travel it down to the
11:13next
11:13spot. When you want to actually discard all that gel is when it starts getting murky. Okay.
11:20So we're doing hair removal. Um, let me find the next page or hair removal. So we're airing on the
11:27side of caution. So our function is going to be three and four. So, but we're in motion. Sorry.
11:35We're going to go in motion. We are doing ear removal. Right. And we are doing fisimetric four.
11:41Correct. And you said three and four. Three and four. Energy. Three and four. Right.
11:50This really skewed on us. So yeah, we're good there. Okay.
11:57Okay. So the cooling is good. Yeah, she's good. Okay. Again, always, yeah, she's not surprised.
12:04Let her feel on her hand, not pulse, but let us see how cold it is. And if she's comfortable
12:09with that,
12:09because as you're pulsing, you're pulsing a lot of energy. We want that coolness. So what the coolness
12:15does is it really preserve the integrity of the skin. You're not going to burn the client. Yeah.
12:23See to these, see the keys. You can look like us. Cool. Okay. All right.
12:35So when we're bringing the laser, the casters are amazing. We're going to draw from here, not from here.
12:43A lot of people do. And then they end up with this separating. Okay. So on.
12:51Now I'm going to pulse in the air because I want you guys to see how this, I'm just going
12:56to hold
12:56down for a second. So that's your repetition. Right. You turn your leg. Now, because the crystal is long
13:06and narrow, doing like this in this position may or may not work for you. Okay.
13:13You have to decide how comfortable you are.
13:18I tend to, I'm sorry, come around this way. So I'm not my back tube. Okay. So I like to
13:23work
13:24this way. Are you comfortable with that? Okay. And just a nice glide.
13:34How are you using glide? And how are you sealing?
13:38Going back again. Pressure is okay for you.
13:48Now, what I didn't do with, I didn't go right up on the shin because your bony or prominence,
13:54especially on the shin and the ankle, it's a little more snappy. So I'm just going to do a quick
14:00pulse
14:00rather than a real rapid. I can always switch it to another mode, but in this case that you were
14:06going back and forth. So let's just go with, how did you feel on a scale of one to 10?
14:10What were you
14:10feeling? Probably zero.
14:11Zero. Okay. All right. So, and you're trying to go with a 20% overlap. And this is where I'm
14:20absolutely mindful of my pressure. We want to have nice firm pressure there and that's it.
14:26So we cover that whole area back and forth. So I went up and then back down, came down here,
14:32back up
14:32and back down. So I've got two passes in and then I just single pulse in there. So now we'll
14:39just take
14:39the gel. Okay. And move it to the next frame.
14:57So now we're looking at good for gel. So if you look at the follicles,
15:10so comparing the follicles, it almost looks as though now the hair is wanting to jump out.
15:17Mm-hmm. You see that?
15:21Some people will get a real peri-follicular edema. So peri around the follicle, a little bit of
15:26inflammation. With her, she's, you see, at least it looks like the hair is just starting to want
15:31to jump out. It darkens. So you've got a nice result there. Good. You've got a little speck there.
15:37Okay. I mean, okay, she's here though. Okay. Sometimes I'm around there, but most time I'll be.
15:43Okay. So I want an overlap from where my line is. I want to overlap there.
15:50All right. So, and
16:02Boney are there and it's a little more sensitive. So I'm just going to do single pulses there
16:10using my HR pressure.
16:18That's it.
16:23Can I just repeat why you did that?
16:26Why I did that? Because when we are working near bonier areas, we want to ensure a good contact.
16:34It's easy to sort of slip over that area and break that contact. So we're not going to get
16:38as good a result, but also when you're in a bonier area, the skin is more sensitive
16:43and she's saying she's comfortable, but you can go in and just do single pulses with about a 20%
16:49overlap. And you just apply pressure and it's just comfortable for the client and easier when
16:55you're doing a treatment. Okay. Who's up? Want to go to try? Okay. When you're getting into the ankle
17:02area, these areas, if you find that it's awkward doing the rapid, then just do your single pulses.
17:11Okay. Yeah. And you want the crystal to go with the length of the leg. So, okay. And there you
17:18go.
17:20And then come back again and stop. There you go.
17:35Awesome. How did that feel on a scale of one to 10?
17:39Like a four and a half.
17:41Okay. A four and a half?
17:43Okay. Well, maybe it's always going to be the case.
17:46Yeah. You're still coarse, but you don't have as much adipose tissue and it's this
17:51a little bit thinner in that area. Because that's the only thing that doesn't have a tan.
17:56So one thing I want to share with you ladies is when you're doing, whether it's single pulses or
18:02you're doing rapid, you really want to be mindful of being perpendicular with the skin. So you're
18:07directly on some people, you know, when you first start out, you tend to be either heel heavy or nose
18:12heavy with your, your hand piece. So really move the hand piece with the shape of the body.
18:19And that will remain with good contact. You're dominant right, aren't you?
18:24Yeah.
18:26And then brings it back up. There you go. How does that feel, Lisa?
18:31Good. Nice.
18:31Or fist.
18:32Yeah.
18:35Yeah. Those larger body areas are going to go really quickly.
18:41And how are you doing?
18:43Awesome.
18:44Sure.
18:45Okay.
18:57There you go. Now remember to be perpendicular. There you go.
19:06Okay. Inverse.
19:09That's where I keep the foot kind of look at a Maddie, right?
19:11I think so. Yeah. And then you can actually stand on the side and have two hands on the
19:17hand piece and you'll feel more in control. How is that?
19:20Okay.
19:21Okay.
19:24I'm ready.
19:25So you have a blob of gel on your crystal. So you might want to pull that down.
19:50So when you're coming down here, it's natural for us to sort of do this, but what's happening is you're
19:55actually lasering the blanket and not her. Okay.
19:59So perhaps what you could do, I don't know where my trigger is.
20:03You should try it up a little.
20:05Yeah. It's starting here
20:10and coming up
20:13with two hands to give you more control. But you're right. This is where using the foot pedal would be
20:18great. So go ahead, try reposition, but just be mindful that you're, you're perpendicular on the skin.
20:27Perfect. And then one more pass, you can bring it back down.
20:36Awesome. Just hold it down. Oh, I see what you're doing. You're doing the pulse. Okay.
20:44I'm just going to get to the tree. Let's get her head.
20:53Mindful getting a good overlap in here. I think that there was not as much of an overlap. Yeah.
20:58And I came down quite a bit on this one. Okay. So, but the girls, when they're first starting out,
21:02they like to just follow the lines and you always want to go outside of the lines. So for that
21:07overlap,
21:07otherwise you've got the hair coming. I know. Right. But then, but they'll know when the client
21:13comes back and they've got a hairy grid coming in. Once you have your hair removal treatment,
21:19your body does take its time to purge the hair and it will take two to three weeks. Usually within
21:25two weeks, that hair is gone. You'll just sort of wake up one day and it's not there. In between,
21:30you can shave. Then your next treatment is between eight and 10 weeks.
21:36So for larger areas, like legs and arms, it's eight to 10 weeks. Your medium areas,
21:41it's six to eight weeks. And then smaller areas would be four to six weeks. If you try to sneak
21:47in treatments before that, you're really just stunting the next hair growth cycle as it's coming
21:52into that engine state, that soul growth, it's on. Yeah. I know that sounds really weird. The blue glasses.
21:59Yeah. The ones that got on. Yeah. Um, because I really struggle with being able to see out of the
22:06other ones. Okay. Cause I can't, any of the other colors, I can't see what I'm doing. So half the
22:11time
22:12I'm doing this and then this and then this. Right. Right. So yeah, I don't know if this was.
22:16Well, it also helps blocking them in the intensity of light. Cause this light is really bright.
22:33And when you're done, we have a post care protocol for you. Uh, they can go through it with you,
22:43but I will just run through a bit of it. So the biggest thing is we don't want to expose
22:49that area
22:50your body to heat. So no hot showers, not soaking in a hot tub, you know, warm, but not hot.
22:56Um,
22:57if you have a hot tub, you know, going in that, uh, and we don't want to create, uh, any
23:02external
23:02heat as well. So you want to refrain from working out, jogging, things like that for about a two day
23:08window lotions. If you put lotion on your body, not something that's going to irritate. So maybe
23:13refrain for a couple of days. Okay. All right. So we're ready to turn. And we've got a small
23:18five. I usually just do one right across there. You do what you do. Yeah.
23:25Do you ever do hair removal on men's legs? Yeah. Okay. Do you find that sometimes they
23:32get Charlie horses in their foot? I usually bolster underneath. Yeah. Okay. It's in the
23:38massage room right now. Okay. Cause I do find that men will get Charlie horses and women not so much,
23:44but when you get into the end of the ankle there, have her just proper foot up there and it
23:49makes
23:49it easier. We can show that to the girls. Okay. Bring your feet up there. There you go. Full one,
23:55but normally we're about half one. Yeah.
23:57then we're about to have the end of the ankle.
23:58All right.
24:00Let's check with people the last one.
24:00Let's see.
24:01We're about to get a little bit off a lot.
24:07Maybe we're about to get a little bit off the bench.
24:08We're about to get a little bit off the ass.
24:35now this area is a little bit meatier so you can have your hand piece horizontal if you
24:40want just two smaller areas whatever is comfortable for you straight out yeah
24:50you guys just want to practice with the the foot foot thing yeah this might lie there we go all
25:00right
25:08okay i should have quite right down the center again is a lot
25:16so the reason why we want to keep the section where we're overlapping it
25:22or doing double passes a smaller section is because we want that heat to build up
25:28while heat transfers if you're doing a larger area you're going to lose that build up of the heat
25:57you definitely want to make sure you're pulsing like yeah in those areas where it does slip for yeah
26:05yeah awesome
26:09i just see nice reaction to the hair follicles here
26:22actually you don't have to do unless that's your preference doing down the belly if they cast it's
26:27your plan is i was only going halfway got it and then i was just me yeah i want to
26:32make sure i
26:33should get it all
26:43you're just gonna get your chart there we go perfect a little more of an overlap this way yeah
26:57so for her next appointment the natural thing i think most laser tech dishes would do is increase
27:06the jewels by a couple but with this you have the very small range what you would do is keep
27:12your same
27:13settings for the first few appointments and you can add in a pass right go to three passes yeah
27:19makes sense yeah and then once she's at three passes then you can you can go off the jewel yeah
27:28and then maybe bring it back down too but monitor her too because i mean if she's a really light
27:34four
27:34and she's on the cusp right
27:37so
27:41you
