00:21Under oath for the truth, not a no-show.
00:24House Deputy Speaker Paolo Ortega V is calling on Vice President Sara Duterte to personally attend the House Committee on
00:32Justice hearing on April 22 to take oath, sign a bank waiver and directly answer the allegations of Ramil Madriaga.
00:40He said Madriaga's testimony given under oath carries more weight than statements not backed by evidence.
00:46He added that if there are lies in the testimony, these should be addressed inside the hearing, not through media
00:52statements.
00:52For Ortega, signing a bank waiver and appearing before the committee are crucial for transparency and fair scrutiny.
01:00Meanwhile, ACT teachers' partless Representative Antonio Tino also criticized the Vice President over the alleged misuse of confidential funds.
01:09Tino said the Vice President cannot avoid liability, especially after OVP and deputy officials admitted funds were turned over to
01:17unauthorized personnel,
01:18which led to the COA's 375 million-peso disallowance for 2023.
01:25Tino insisted there is now probable cause in the impeachment case and that Vice President Sara Duterte should be held
01:31accountable for public funds.
01:34National Unity Party member and Manila 2nd District Representative Rolando Valeriano said the party will carefully review whether the evidence
01:42presented in the impeachment hearings
01:44is sufficient for probable cause before a plenary vote.
01:48Tignan natin, napagbutuhan ng Committee on Justice na may substance and form, tapos tinitingnan nila yung mga evidence ngayon kung
01:56may probable cause.
01:57Para pag inakit nila sa Senate, at least, alam naman nilang depensahan yung ginawa ng Kongreso.
02:04At yun din naman yung Supreme Court ruling eh.
02:06Meanwhile, the Anti-Money Laundering Council has been subpoenaed regarding transactions linked to Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband,
02:15attorney Manassas Carpio.
02:17The AMLC is expected to present covered and suspicious transactions from 2006 to 2025.
02:25Former Senator San Italiano has also been called upon as a resource person regarding the Vice President's statement of assets,
02:32liabilities and net worth,
02:34as well as allegations of a joint bank account with former President Rodrigo Duterte.
02:38The Ombudsman, Bureau of Internal Revenue and Securities and Exchange Commission are also expected to attend to discuss alleged unexplained
02:46wealth.
