00:12We go live to Venezuela at this hour, Jorge Rodriguez, President of the National
00:16Assemblies offering statements during the national pilgrimage. Let's listen, April 19th of 1910,
00:25the rise to the world, the willingness of our people of being free forever and no one asked.
00:38No one went from one side to the other. There were two benches, the bench of the freedom
00:47and the bench of slavery. But if we know something, if there's something the Venezuelans know is
00:53to battle for their freedom, for caring for our independence, it's battling to protect
01:02our sovereignty. That is why yesterday from the Zule State, our acting president, Delcy
01:09Rodriguez, and in the Andes, in the mountains, there was a new campaign of our captain Diosdado
01:17Cabello. And we kicked off in the face of the most warrior from the city of Porto Ayacucho.
01:27And from there we came and traveling throughout the most beautiful states of Venezuela, now
01:37in the Bolivar state. The Bolivar state, the plain richness that seems true that God taking
01:50his time here in the Bolivar state, in the land of Bolivar, it seems like God, he stood out
02:00for the revolution. And this is the gift he gave to their sons and daughters. But the main
02:07treasure we have, the most important richness that this state has, are the women and men,
02:15their souls, their strength, their spirit, their unbreakable decision of resisting and prevailing.
02:28It hasn't been easy what we went through. It has been very hard. These sanctions, the blockade,
02:39that affect all of the sectors of the Venezuelan society, especially its economy, and very
02:46especially its production. Remember that in the year 19, in the 20s, please remember all
03:02that it costs for us, and even a small activity. And also look how, in spite of sanctions, you
03:14prevailed. Imagine if we manage, with this great mobilization of everyone, eliminate once and for
03:26all of the sanctions for Venezuela to fly high, for Venezuela to conquer its future so we can build the
03:35prosperity we deserve, and that our sons and daughters and grandchildren deserve. And we
03:42cannot do this without being united. It has come the time to move the page forward. It is the time
03:53now of
03:54hugging each other, even though we think different. This is the time of reconciliation. The partners
04:03also must reconciliation. That could be a little bit harder. But if we manage to, for the reconciliation of
04:17people, people, groups, populations, that before thought that it was almost impossible, we are obliged for the
04:27national reconciliation, so we can battle together, because one or one single group is not going to be
04:33able to achieve this. And I say this, perhaps this is not secret, but you know, that I am profoundly
04:47Chavista.
04:47But here in Venezuela and in the state of Bolivar, we are not just Chavistas. There are people who think
04:55different, and there are people from the opposition in the Bolivar state. And those people that call
05:02themselves independents and do not support neither Chavistas, neither opposition, we here need you all.
05:10Dependently of your ideology, Chavistas independence and opposition, people from the opposition, and of course,
05:21extremism is also wanting to rise violence, the infertile battle to be imposed. It amazed me how we saw a
05:33few days ago, a few hours ago, in a square in of the nation,
05:38that there was a call called by the extreme right wing. There were racist expressions that simply Venezuelans do not
05:54understand in the first place.
05:58because the homo sapiens, us, our species, we are, the homo sapiens is a kind of ape, but they do
06:12not say this for the scientist's expression, but as an insult.
06:17How it can be an insult for us that we are a beautiful mixture of all bloods, of all races,
06:24of the indigenous people, from black people and from European people.
06:32And surprisingly, those who shouted that fascist expressions there, those who call that manifest, that rally from the extreme right
06:45wing of Spain, them, we call them, they, they are called monkeys, they are called black people, they are called,
06:56they are called like that as an insult, but from here we are, we say out loud, we are black
07:05people, we are a wonderful mixture of all cultures, of all races, and of all the resistance of the civilization.
07:14And we must battle, and we must battle, and we must face hatred and fascism, that this pilgrimage be to
07:21eradicate once and for all racism from this land.
07:26And, and to say this before the whole world, we have the right to fight against racism, because as you
07:33say, we are a mixture, we are a mixture, and a wonderful one, that was born through the most greatest
07:43poets,
07:43and, and, and the greatest, and wonderful battle, that gave the freedom to the whole American continent.
07:58They are still hurting because we throw them out of our lands.
08:05It has come the time, the time has come, of the encounter, it has come the moment, of walking together,
08:17of marching together, women and men as one,
08:21throughout the territory of this beautiful land, and may every encounter that we have, in every meeting, in every event,
08:31and, let's say, that our brothers and sisters, and our daughters and children, may air the free land for, the,
08:40the, their parents fight for,
08:43may Venezuela be free of hatred, be free of hate, racism, and forever, and you are going to be part
08:51of this.
08:51I send you a big hug, and I love you very much, and very deeply, a big hug for you.
08:59A hug. Here it is, the working class of Venezuela, ladies and gentlemen.
09:05With Jorge Rodriguez said this very clear, we are going to be together for a Venezuela without sanctions.
09:13Those were the statements at this hour of Jorge Rodriguez, President of the National Assembly.
09:18He is at the Bolivar State as part of this national and massive pilgrimage that is taking place throughout Venezuela,
09:26that kicked off as well on Sunday, April 19th, and is going to last throughout the week to demand a
09:33Venezuela free of sanctions,
09:34to demand as well for the national reconciliation for all Venezuelans working together for the common goal of freeing Venezuela
09:42from sanctions.
09:43This is all for the moment. Stay tuned with Telesur English.
09:46We are going to keep updating you with every little detail that comes from Venezuela this hour.
