00:00Hello.
00:17Welcome back to another exciting episode of TechConnect.
00:21And in this episode we are going to be taking a look at the Vision Buddy Mini once again.
00:26This is a part two to our previous video. If you haven't seen that then do check it out.
00:31Card should be up here.
00:33And the Vision Buddy Mini of course is a great new wearable from Vision Buddy.
00:37But in the previous video we did not talk about the voice commands.
00:41That's right, we can talk to our Vision Buddy. Does it talk back to us?
00:44Who knows? We're going to find out. Hopefully it does.
00:47But we can ask it to do various different things and we're going to be checking those out in this
00:51video.
00:52So without further ado, let's jump into the first set of features
00:55which will allow us to manipulate the image in our normal magnification mode.
00:59Let's check it out.
01:04So the first of our feature set is going to be used in the regular magnification mode.
01:09And this is to change the brightness, the contrast and also the zoom level using voice commands.
01:15Now I do have a wire coming down off the headset at the moment
01:18and that's so I can record footage from the headset.
01:21Normally this wire wouldn't be there just so you guys know.
01:23But let's start off by taking a look at zoom.
01:26So we can set zoom using our voice.
01:28Now we do have to trigger the microphone by holding a button on the headset.
01:31It's going to be the zoom button on the left hand side.
01:34We hold it down until we hear a beep and then we say our command.
01:37So let's try zoom first of all.
01:39We can go between one and ten.
01:41So here we go.
01:44Zoom eight.
01:46Zoom set to eight.
01:48And we can see that we zoomed in there.
01:50There's Jonathan extra close up looking good today as usual.
01:53Let me go ahead and zoom back down again to one.
01:58Zoom one.
02:01Zoom set to one.
02:02So you can see that's very responsive and it does a good job.
02:04Now we can also change the brightness and I'm not sure if this will come across on the video,
02:08but this will change the brightness of the image.
02:11I'm going to set it to ten.
02:12Why not?
02:15Brightness ten.
02:17Brightness set to ten.
02:18And everything has indeed become brighter as you would expect.
02:22And let's also do the contrast.
02:24Again, we can choose between one and ten for the contrast.
02:29Contrast ten.
02:31Contrast set to ten.
02:33Woo.
02:33Okay, really cranked it up there.
02:35And we can definitely see things, you know, with a lot more contrast now.
02:38So the outlines of things are a lot bolder, which is very nice.
02:42So there's three handy commands that we can use when we are in the regular magnification mode,
02:46all of which are very useful.
02:48But how about if we're in the reading mode?
02:51Well, luckily we do have some things for the reading mode as well.
02:54So let's go ahead and take a look at those next.
03:00All right, so we are now in the reading mode.
03:02Now, if you watched our previous video, which of course you should have done,
03:05then in that video we said that the reading mode is black and white,
03:08or grayscale, really I should say.
03:10And we thought that was a bit of a strange choice for the reading mode.
03:13However, it turns out there are actually five different colors that we can choose from
03:17when we are reading, but we have to activate them with a voice command.
03:21So let's go ahead and take a look at the five different options we have for reading
03:25with the Vision Buddy when it comes to colors.
03:28So we'll start off here with our book.
03:29And this is currently in grayscale.
03:32So this is the default.
03:33Now, I do think it is still a bit weird that they chose this as the default color scheme.
03:37But there we go.
03:38So this is in grayscale.
03:39Let's go ahead and check out the first of the colors,
03:41which is going to be a high contrast of black on white.
03:48Black.
03:50Black and white filter.
03:52And there we go.
03:53So now we have this high contrast of black text on a white background.
03:58And yeah, definitely makes things pop.
03:59Now you do get the same kind of issues that you would do normally with this type of color scheme,
04:03where as you move your head, you get some ghosting and some smudging of the words and stuff.
04:08But yeah, other than that, all looks pretty much as it should do.
04:11Let's check out another color now.
04:13This will be white on black.
04:15So the opposite of what we have currently.
04:19Inverted.
04:21Inverted black and white filter.
04:23All right.
04:24Very nice.
04:24And we do have some deep blacks and some bright whites there.
04:27And yeah, looking good.
04:28As long as we hold the page in the right angle to stop any glare,
04:32then we are seeing those words nice and clear.
04:36So those are kind of your standard colors.
04:37Now we do have some funky colors as well, but we will check out here.
04:44Yellow.
04:46Yellow on black filter.
04:48All right.
04:48So this one is black text on a yellow background and a really nice bright yellow.
04:53So if this is your color scheme, then they do have this included.
04:56And we do have one more as well that we will check out.
05:02Green.
05:04Green on black filter.
05:07And here is the black text on a green background.
05:10So there we go.
05:11Five different color modes to choose from that we didn't include this in our last video.
05:14So I'm glad that we could cover those now.
05:16And you do have some choices when it comes to reading.
05:19You just got to remember that you need to use your voice commands.
05:21But luckily, it's very simple to do that.
05:26OK, so here we are in our final voice control mode and we are in the television mode.
05:32Now we know that we can already zoom in in the television mode and, you know, see what's there.
05:37But we also have some different color options to make things pop just a little bit more.
05:41So I am currently in the normal color mode and everything looks good.
05:45But we also have a vivid color mode and a higher contrast color mode as well.
05:50Let's try out the vivid color mode and see what that looks like.
05:55Vivid.
05:57Vivid filter.
05:58All right.
05:59Well, that definitely is a lot more vivid.
06:01The colors are really popping here.
06:02I actually kind of like it.
06:03It really does make everything pop just that much more.
06:06And obviously, if you have trouble with color perception, then this mode could be great for you.
06:11Let's check out the high contrast mode and see what that looks like.
06:16High.
06:18High contrast filter.
06:19Good.
06:20And just as expected, everything is a lot more contrast, so much deeper blacks and whiter whites.
06:25And again, that helps to make things pop off the screen just a little bit more.
06:29So if you are in the television mode and you're finding it hard to, you know, see things as well
06:34as you would like,
06:34then these different color modes could really be of assistance.
06:37And of course, you can switch between them at any time to choose the one that's best for the content
06:42that you're currently watching.
06:44All right.
06:44That's it.
06:45Let's wrap this up.
06:49Okay.
06:50So those were the Vision Buddy voice commands.
06:52And I think you'll agree they're very easy to do.
06:54And they add on some great functionality to your Vision Buddy Mini.
06:58So even better device than we thought it was previously.
07:02And we already thought it was great.
07:03If you want to check out the Vision Buddy Mini, then you can, of course, go to their website
