A stop-work order has been issued for the Federal Park Administrative Zone office project in Bukit Kiara following a mud flood and the partial collapse of a retaining wall near Jalan Abang Haji Openg after heavy rain on Saturday (April 18).

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh said in a social media post on Sunday (April 19) that immediate action was taken following the incident.

00:23under the National Landscape Department, has been halted with immediate effect following the incident.
00:30She said cleaning operations were carried out by the Fire and Rescue Department and Kuala Lumpur City Hall
00:36alongside the contractor while hoarding was removed and the silt trap repaired.
00:41A control centre has been established by City Hall to coordinate on-site operations.
00:48Yeo added that an urgent meeting would be held to reassess mitigation plans
00:52and all slope development works in the Bukit Kiara Federal Park area would be reviewed.
01:00Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nantalingi said the incident was triggered by heavy rain between 3.30pm and 5.30pm,
01:10which caused water to overflow from the project site, rupturing an earth bond and overwhelming the downstream drainage system.
01:19Utility obstructions further contributed to water overflowing onto public roads,
01:24placing pressure on the retaining wall until it partially collapsed.
01:29Nanta said the Public Works Department has been directed to conduct a detailed technical investigation
01:34and recommend further mitigation measures.
