00:00And then what?
00:01Well, of course, I guess I must have been a little overwrought.
00:07Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most notorious scandals that irreversibly ruined actress careers.
00:14Yeah, that was a horrific night, as you can imagine.
00:19Number 20, Shia LaBeouf's Channel 5 interview.
00:23I keep talking like weird, like, because we're camera'd up.
00:26So I'm thinking I got to talk for a big audience.
00:28I'm going to talk for me. Let's start over.
00:30Click.
00:31Start the whole interview over. Start the interview over, bro.
00:34All right, we're here. Shia LaBeouf live in New Orleans, one week after Fat Tuesday.
00:37How are you doing 1 through 10?
00:38Blessed.
00:40Okay, so that's a 10.
00:41It's a 10. Yeah, bro, I feel good.
00:44LaBeouf has given the media plenty to talk about over the years.
00:47However, a particular appearance on the YouTube channel Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan in February 2022
00:53showcased a raw, unscripted, and deeply uncomfortable side that left many viewers stunned.
00:57During the interview, which is ostensibly about his career resurgence and personal growth following past legal troubles and allegations of
01:04abuse,
01:05LaBeouf exhibited a highly agitated and confrontational demeanor.
01:09You know what the Bible says.
01:10About?
01:11Homosexuality.
01:12What does it say?
01:13Nah.
01:14That's what it says?
01:15Yeah.
01:15But wasn't that written a really long time ago?
01:17Bro, you can do whatever you want with the text.
01:19It's not my business.
01:20You know what I mean?
01:20I'm a traditional Catholic.
01:21That's okay.
01:22He frequently interrupted Callaghan and veered into what many perceived as a bizarre and self-aggrandizing monologue.
01:28His responses often lacked coherence, marked by an almost performative intensity that seemed to set even the seasoned interviewer on
01:35edge.
01:35What would you say to Jesus if you could meet him?
01:38I wouldn't say shit.
01:41Really?
01:42Nah.
01:44Bro, I kiss.
01:48I kiss.
01:49I kiss.
01:50I kiss his feet.
01:52I don't want to say nothing.
01:53Number 19.
01:54Charlie Sheen is winning.
01:56Your anger and your hate, I think, is coming off as erratic to people.
01:59Passion.
02:00My passion.
02:00It's all passion.
02:01Okay, your passion is coming off as erratic to people.
02:04Right, well, you borrow my brain for five seconds and just be like, dude, can't handle it.
02:08Unplug this bastard.
02:09Yeah, because it just, it fires in a way that is, I don't know, maybe not from this particular terrestrial
02:15realm.
02:16In early 2011, the world watched in a mixture of bewilderment and morbid fascination as after Charlie Sheen embarked on
02:23a highly public, self-proclaimed winning spree.
02:26Freshly fired from his hit CBS show, Two and a Half Men, on March 7th, 2011, Sheen launched into a
02:32series of interviews and public appearances that became instantly infamous.
02:36And then what?
02:36What's the cure?
02:37Medicine?
02:38Make me like them?
02:39Not gonna happen.
02:41I'm bi-winning.
02:43I win here and I win there.
02:44Now what?
02:45If I'm bipolar, aren't there moments where a guy, like, crashes and is, like, in the corner, like, oh my
02:50god, it's all my mom's fault?
02:51Shut up.
02:52Shut up.
02:53Stop.
02:53Move forward.
02:54His behavior was characterized by extreme highs and lows, swinging between defiant confidence and rambling incoherence, all while projecting an
03:02image of unassailable triumph.
03:04This period, widely dubbed his meltdown, saw him touring with a live show, making increasingly outlandish statements, and publicly grappling
03:11with substance use disorder.
03:13The episode captivated millions, but for all the wrong reasons.
03:16But you love to party.
03:19I mean, what's not to love?
03:21How do you...
03:21Especially when you see how I partied, man.
03:22It was epic.
03:23The run I was on made Sinatra, Flynn, Jagger, Richards, all of them just look like, you know, droopy-eyed,
03:29armless children.
03:30Number 18.
03:32Christian Bale wants to know if Shane Hurlbut is a professional.
03:35Are you professional or not?
03:36Yes, I am.
03:37Do I f***ing walk around and rip that...
03:39No, shut the f*** up, Bruce.
03:41Do I what?
03:41No!
03:42During the filming of Terminator Salvation, the film's director of photography, Shane Hurlbut, inadvertently walked into Oscar-winner Bale's light
03:49of sight, while he was deeply immersed in a crucial scene opposite actress Bryce Dallas Howard.
03:54What followed was a furious, expletive-laden tirade, captured on audio, and subsequently leaked online.
04:00I was looking at the light.
04:02Oh, good for you!
04:04And how was it?
04:05For over three minutes, Bale then basted Hurlbut with intense, personal attacks, threatening to quit the film, and verbally tearing
04:13down the crew member for what he perceived as a catastrophic distraction.
04:16The incident quickly went viral, and Bale later publicly apologized for his decidedly unprofessional conduct.
04:22The thing that I really want to stress is I have no confusion whatsoever.
04:28I was out of order beyond belief.
04:32I was way out of order.
04:33I acted like a punk.
04:35I regret that.
04:37And there is nobody that has heard that tape that has hit harder by it than me.
04:43Number 17.
04:45Winona Ryder is arrested for shoplifting.
04:47Ryder had arrived at the court an hour late after being ordered to appear by an irritated judge, determined not
04:54to further delay the six-month-old case.
04:56First witness, Kenneth Evans, a security manager from Saks Fifth Avenue Department Store in Beverly Hills, testified Ryder was tracked
05:05on camera as she shopped for designer clothes.
05:08On December 12, 2001, Ryder was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from the Saks Fifth Avenue Department Store in Beverly
05:15Hills, California.
05:16Security personnel at the store alleged that Ryder had been observed stuffing thousands of dollars' worth of designer merchandise, including
05:23a $760 Mark Jacobs sweater and a $1,500 Gucci dress, into her bag and removing security tags.
05:31Currently on $40,000 bail, the actress is facing four shoplifting charges that carry a maximum three-year jail term.
05:39The judge has yet to decide if there's enough evidence to bring the two-time Oscar nominee to trial.
05:45The total value of the item she was accused of taking amounted to approximately $4,760 to $5,500.
05:53Furthermore, she was also charged with possessing pain medication without a valid prescription.
05:58Ryder was ultimately convicted on November 6, 2002, of grand theft and shoplifting, and sentenced to three years of probation,
06:05480 hours of community service, in order to pay restitution and fines.
06:10I'm here to host the season finale of Saturday Night Live.
06:17But I have to admit, you know, people have been acting a little strange around here.
06:24You know, there's like a lot of, like, locking of doors and shifty eyes and a lot of frisking.
06:32Number 16, Hugh Grant is caught in a vice sting.
06:35Let me start with question number one.
06:40What the hell were you thinking?
06:49Fresh off the international success of four weddings and a funeral, and seemingly enjoying a burgeoning career as a charming
06:55leading man,
06:56British actor Hugh Grant's clean-cut image was shattered in June 1995 by a scandalous arrest.
07:02While in Los Angeles to promote his film Nine Months, Grant was apprehended by police on Sunset Boulevard on June
07:0827, 1995,
07:09for engaging in lewd conduct in his white BMW with a sex worker named Divine Brown.
07:15I think you know in life, uh, pretty much what's a good thing to do and what's a bad thing,
07:20and, um, I did a bad thing, and there you have it.
07:22Grant was booked on misdemeanor charges and later pleaded no contest, receiving a fine of $1,180 and two years
07:30of probation.
07:30However, Grant's appearance on The Tonight Show just days after his arrest is often credited with helping to mitigate the
07:36damage.
07:37Now, how about, how about the Hollywood reaction?
07:39As you know, the Hollywood community was shocked to learn that this type of thing was going on, right?
07:45Number 15, Gerard Depardieu's bad behavior on a plane.
07:49Gerard, welcome. Uh, why'd you pee on the plane?
07:55You want to pee. You want to make a pee.
07:57And you have some, uh, some, uh, hotex, and I say, please, madame, could I go to the toilet?
08:04She blocked the door with her foot, and she said, no, go back to your place.
08:10French cinematic legend Gerard Depardieu, renowned for his prolific career and larger-than-life persona,
08:15has faced a cascade of controversies that have significantly tarnished his legacy.
08:20One of the earlier instances of his erratic behavior came in August 2011,
08:24when he was accused of publicly urinating in the Isle of an Air France flight before takeoff from Dublin to
08:30Paris,
08:30citing an urgent need to relieve himself that the cabin crew reportedly denied.
08:34And I'm not a monster, I'm just a man who wants to pee, and, uh, maybe she was on a
08:40breakdown,
08:41and I was there, uh, nervous breakdown, because I don't understand why she put the, the, uh, she blocked the
08:47door.
08:48I said, don't worry, I will clean it after.
08:51And she said, ah, like that, she yelled.
08:55This act of public indecency, while bizarre, foreshadowed more serious issues to come.
09:00More recently, Depardieu has been embroiled in numerous allegations of sexual misconduct.
09:05Depardieu has vehemently denied these allegations,
09:07but the mounting evidence and recent conviction have prompted a reckoning with his past conduct in France.
09:13Well, these first two women who are bringing him to court today,
09:17they're accusing him of groping them, uh, when they made a movie together in 2021.
09:23Uh, he groped them, uh, and one of the women says he blocked her body with his legs and...
09:29Number 14, Jonathan Major's career-ruining scandal.
09:33Why did you decide you wanted to talk now?
09:35I felt like it was time.
09:37Something about sitting here right now and, and, and looking at you and
09:42understanding the gravity of the situation.
09:44A situation that I, in many ways, you know, put myself in.
09:48Major's was rapidly ascending Hollywood's ranks
09:50when his career trajectory was abruptly halted by serious legal troubles.
09:54In March 2023, Major's was arrested in New York City
09:57following an alleged domestic dispute with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabari,
10:02who reported physical injuries, including a laceration behind her ear and a broken finger.
10:06After a highly publicized trial in Manhattan,
10:09Major's was found guilty of assault in the third degree and harassment.
10:13There were four charges.
10:14The jury convicted you of two of them.
10:16Mm-hmm.
10:17Your reaction to that verdict?
10:20Shock.
10:21Mm-hmm.
10:22I was, uh, I was absolutely shocked.
10:26I know I did not, you know, place my hands and strike that woman.
10:30You know, it never happened.
10:32The jury determined that he had recklessly caused physical injury to Jabari.
10:36Marvel Studios quickly dropped him from all upcoming projects,
10:39effectively ending his role as Kang the Conqueror,
10:41a pivotal villain in their cinematic universe.
10:44That's what monsters do.
10:45That's what conquerors do.
10:49They burn the broken world.
10:52And they make a new one.
10:55Number 13.
10:56Roseanne Barr blames Ambien for her racist posts.
10:59Today, drugmaker Sanofi joined the social media backlash against Roseanne Barr's offensive tweet.
11:05Sanofi makes Ambien, and overnight, Barr hinted it influenced her 2 a.m. post, writing,
11:10Guys, I did something unforgivable, so do not defend me.
11:13It was 2 in the morning, and I was Ambien tweeting.
11:16Barr's eponymous sitcom Roseanne broke new ground for working-class representation
11:20and achieved a remarkable television comeback in 2018 with a highly anticipated revival.
11:25The premiere drew massive ratings, signaling a triumphant return to form for the controversial star.
11:31However, this resurgence was short-lived,
11:33and spectacularly self-sabotaged by a single, racially insensitive tweet.
11:38The Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes had a baby equals VJ.
11:43The VJ referred to is Valerie Jarrett, the former advisor to President Obama.
11:49Barr deleted the tweet and tweeted an apology to Jarrett, saying in part,
11:53Forgive me, my joke was in bad taste.
11:55On May 29th, 2018, Barr posted a tweet targeting Valerie Jarrett,
12:00a former senior advisor to President Barack Obama.
12:03ABC swiftly canceled the highly successful Roseanne revival just hours later,
12:07with then-ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungy calling her statement
12:11abhorrent, repugnant, and inconsistent with our values.
12:14The network subsequently retooled the show without her, under the title The Conners.
12:18It's been three weeks since Granny Rose's funeral.
12:21Why are people still giving us casseroles?
12:24And why do people bring casseroles when somebody dies?
12:26It's actually a practical gift when people are grieving.
12:29They don't want to have to cook.
12:31What about when the casseroles run out?
12:33What if the person who died is the only one who cooked?
12:35Then we keep telling people we're grieving until we figure out how to feed ourselves.
12:38Number 12, Alison Mack helps to build NXIVM.
12:42This morning, Alison Mack, the former Smallville star who pled guilty to racketeering charges
12:48after admitting that she was one of the lead recruiters for the sex cult NXIVM,
12:54is speaking out for the first time.
12:57I don't see myself as innocent.
12:59Best known to television audiences as Chloe Sullivan in Smallville from 2001 to 2011,
13:04Mack became a central figure in one of the most disturbing cult scandals of recent times.
13:08NXIVM.
13:09This multi-level marketing organization, ostensibly offering self-help programs,
13:14was exposed as a sex trafficking cult led by its founder, Keith Raniere.
13:18I was harsh, and I was callous, and I was aggressive and forceful
13:23in ways that were painful for people and did make people feel like they had no choice
13:27and was incredibly abusive to people, traumatic for people.
13:32Mack's involvement was not merely as a follower,
13:34but as a high-ranking member within a secret society called DOS.
13:37Here, women were recruited as slaves and subjected to forced labor,
13:42emotional manipulation, and sexual servitude.
13:45In April 2018, federal authorities arrested Mack in Brooklyn, New York.
13:49In June 2021, Mack was sentenced in a federal court in Brooklyn to three years in prison.
13:55She was ultimately released in July 2023.
13:57Records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons show 40-year-old Alison Mack was released yesterday.
14:03She was once part of the inner circle of cult leaders,
14:06and prosecutors say she ordered victims to perform labor,
14:10take inappropriate photos, and engage in sexual acts with fellow leader Keith Raniere.
14:16Number 11.
14:17Alec Baldwin has some choice words for his thoughtless daughter.
14:20Hey, I want to tell you something, okay?
14:21And I want to leave a message for you right now,
14:24because again, it's 10.30 here in New York on a Wednesday.
14:27And once again, I've made an ass of myself
14:32trying to get to a phone to call you at a specific time.
14:36When the time comes for me to make the phone call,
14:39I stop whatever I'm doing, and I go when I make that phone call.
14:43Baldwin experienced a deeply embarrassing and widely publicized moment in April 2007,
14:48when a private voicemail he left for his then 11-year-old daughter,
14:52Ireland Baldwin, was leaked to the media.
14:54The audio depicted Baldwin in a furious rage,
14:57berating his daughter with harsh language,
14:59and accusing her of disrespect for not answering his phone calls
15:02during her visitation time with her mother.
15:23The voicemail, recorded amidst a bitter and highly contentious custody battle
15:27with his ex-wife, Kim Basinger,
15:29painted a starkly negative picture of his parenting and emotional control.
15:33The public reaction was overwhelmingly critical,
15:35with many condemning his choice of words,
15:37and the emotional distress it clearly caused his young daughter.
15:40I still remember when he would tuck me in and yell me a bedtime story.
15:46My absolute favorite, and his favorite,
15:49the three little thoughtless pigs.
15:55Number 10.
15:57Lori Loughlin bribes her daughter's way into college.
15:59She was once one of America's favorite aunts.
16:01Now, actress Laura Loughlin is headed to prison.
16:04Today, a judge sentenced the Full House star and her husband
16:07for their roles in a widespread college admissions fraud scandal.
16:10In March 2019,
16:12Loughlin became a prominent figure in the Varsity Blues college admissions scandal.
16:16Federal prosecutors revealed that Loughlin and her husband,
16:19fashion designer Massimo Giannulli,
16:21had engaged in a scheme to fraudulently secure their daughter's admission
16:24to the University of Southern California, USC.
16:27The couple allegedly paid $500,000 to William Rick Singer,
16:32the mastermind behind the scheme,
16:33to have their two daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose,
16:37designated as crew recruits,
16:39despite neither daughter participating in the sport.
16:41My attorney, he told me I'm probably the smartest, dumbest person he knows.
16:47Your attorney said that to you?
16:48Yes.
16:48He said, because you do everything by the seat of your pants,
16:54and all you had to do quite easily was call an attorney
16:57and ask him if what you were doing was legal,
17:00and you would have no problems whatsoever.
17:02Loughlin initially pleaded not guilty,
17:04but later changed her plea to guilty on conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud.
17:08In August 2020, she was sentenced in a Boston federal court
17:11to two months in federal prison,
17:13a $150,000 fine, and 100 hours of community service.
17:17After two months in jail and countless headlines later,
17:20Loughlin will get to spend the New Year's holiday as a free woman
17:23and reunite with her daughters.
17:25I'm super close with my parents, especially my mom.
17:28She's like my best friend.
17:29So it's definitely been really hard not being able to talk to her.
17:32Number nine, Tom Cruise loves Katie Holmes.
17:36I've never seen her!
17:37I know!
17:37We've never seen you behave this way before.
17:40I know!
17:41Have you ever felt this way, you girl?
17:49In May 2005, Tom Cruise, one of Hollywood's most bankable and enigmatic stars,
17:55delivered an unforgettable and widely scrutinized performance
17:58not on the big screen, but on the Oprah Winfrey show.
18:00During an interview on May 23rd, 2005,
18:03meant to promote Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds,
18:06Cruise's behavior took an unexpected turn
18:08when discussing his blossoming relationship with actress Katie Holmes.
18:11It was a Stephen and Kate, and they...
18:14I'm a hugger, you know what I mean?
18:16Yeah, I know!
18:16I know what I mean, I give it...
18:18Yes!
18:18Yes!
18:19So that's what it's like with Steven and I, you know?
18:22Yeah.
18:22Overwhelmed with what he described as love and happiness,
18:25he repeatedly jumped onto and off Oprah's iconic yellow sofa,
18:29pumped his fists, knelt,
18:30and declared his affection for Holmes with an intensity that verged on manic.
18:34The moment immediately went viral,
18:36becoming a cultural touchstone
18:37and is subject of endless parody and analysis.
18:52Number 8.
18:53Jesse Smollett's Hate Crime Hoax.
18:55He said,
18:57this MAGA country n*** punches me right in the face.
19:00So I punched his ass back.
19:02On January 29th, 2019,
19:04Smollett reported to police that he was attacked by two masked men
19:07at approximately 2 a.m. in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood.
19:11The story quickly garnered widespread sympathy and outrage,
19:14with politicians and celebrities,
19:16including Kamala Harris and Ellen DeGeneres,
19:18offering their support.
19:19Twenty-six Chicago police officers spent 3,000 hours of time
19:24costing the city well over $100,000
19:27for a fake crime that never occurred,
19:29and by the way,
19:30a fake crime that denigrates what a real hate crime is.
19:35Detectives soon found evidence suggesting
19:37that Smollett had orchestrated the attack himself,
19:40allegedly paying two Nigerian-American brothers to stage the incident.
19:44Surveillance footage showed the brothers buying materials
19:46like rope and ski masks,
19:48and they later testified that Smollett had instructed them.
19:51Smollett was charged with filing a false police report,
19:53and after a protracted legal battle,
19:55he was convicted in December 2021
19:57on five felony counts of disorderly conduct.
20:00It would be easier if I had, in fact, done this
20:03to say that I did it.
20:04I wouldn't have spent almost $3 million of my own money.
20:08I would not have had a trial.
20:09No matter how much people are yelling in my face,
20:12saying, you're a liar, you're a liar, you're a liar.
20:14No, I'm not.
20:16No, I'm not.
20:17I don't want them to believe that,
20:19but if that is what they believe,
20:22that's on you.
20:23Number seven, Armie Hammer is a cannibal?
20:26After three years of silence,
20:28Armie Hammer, a rising star who plummeted in 2021
20:31amid shocking allegations, is speaking out.
20:34What began with leaked screenshots of unverified direct messages
20:37on social media, purportedly from Hollywood leading man Hammer,
20:41quickly escalated into a full-blown scandal.
20:43These messages detailed graphic fantasies,
20:46including references to BDSM, violence, sexual assault, and even cannibalism.
20:51Soon after, multiple women came forward publicly
20:54with accusations of emotional and psychological abuse,
20:58describing manipulative and coercive behavior
21:00during their relationships with the actor.
21:02I met Armie Hammer on Facebook in 2016 when I was 20 years old.
21:08I fell in love with him instantly.
21:12The relationship progressed rapidly,
21:14and the emotions from both sides became really intense.
21:17One woman's harrowing account led the Los Angeles Police Department
21:20to open an ultimately fruitless investigation into Hammer in March 2021.
21:25Hammer was dropped by his talent agency, WME,
21:28and removed from several upcoming film and TV projects.
21:31Where I was in my life before all of that stuff happened to me,
21:36I didn't feel good.
21:37I never felt satisfied.
21:39Number six, Stephen Collins is accused of disturbing abuse.
21:43Did you feel at times that you were leading a double life in any way?
21:47Um, no.
21:49We're all made of dark parts and light parts.
21:52I know that other people are going to judge and doubt,
21:56and I can't do anything about it.
21:58All I can do is tell my truth.
22:00Stephen Collins was a respected actor,
22:02best known for his role as the morally upright Reverend Eric Camden
22:05on the long-running family drama, Seventh Heaven.
22:08This image of integrity was shattered irrevocably in August 2014,
22:12when a deeply disturbing audio recording was released.
22:15There was one instance.
22:17But how did you, like, there was one instance what?
22:21Well, this isn't a disclosure, and I told you before,
22:23there was one instance.
22:25Wherefore, there was one moment of touching.
22:28The recording, obtained by TMZ,
22:31was from a 2012 therapy session with his ex-wife, Faye Grant,
22:34and contained Collins' confession to engaging in sexual abuse of young girls,
22:38including in his own family.
22:40Collins was swiftly fired from various projects,
22:42including his role as the voice of a character in the Ted 2 movie
22:46and a recurring role in the TV series, Scandal.
22:49Reruns of Seventh Heaven were pulled from syndication by various networks,
22:52and he became persona non grata in Hollywood.
22:55Did you find this sexually gratifying?
22:57Not at all.
23:00I mean, not at all.
23:02It was not exciting.
23:05It was not gratifying.
23:07There was no gratification.
23:09Then why did you do it?
23:10Number 5.
23:11Bill Cosby's predatory tendencies.
23:13He asked me back a few times.
23:15He asked me to visit him on the set.
23:17I was not the only girl that he was doing this with.
23:21Mr. Cosby wanted me to come down for an audition for the Bill Cosby Show.
23:26I'm going to offer you a part on the Cosby Show.
23:30He had been mentoring me and grooming me.
23:32For decades, Bill Cosby reigned as America's dad,
23:36a beloved comedian and actor who championed family values and education.
23:40In October 2014, allegations of sexual assault, which had circulated quietly for years,
23:46resurfaced and gained unprecedented public traction,
23:49largely fueled by comedian Hannibal Buress' stand-up routine.
23:52Have you, like, completely moved past all the Cosby s**t?
23:57Do you still take grief for that?
24:00Not grief.
24:01No, I've, uh...
24:02Well, now you're vindicated.
24:03Over 60 women eventually came forward,
24:06accusing Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting them over several decades,
24:10often incapacitating them before the assaults.
24:13The sheer volume and consistency of the accusations,
24:16combined with the 2005 civil deposition,
24:18led to his arrest and trial.
24:20Cosby was later sentenced to 3 to 10 years in prison,
24:23in what was widely seen as a landmark hashtag MeToo era case.
24:27Number four.
24:28Ezra Miller's nationwide campaign of terror.
24:30I mean, there's...
24:31I'm being arrested for disorderly conduct?
24:33Yeah.
24:34Okay.
24:35I was assaulted.
24:36Okay.
24:37Well, you could've told us that.
24:38I should've run away and played all of this theatrics.
24:40You could've just told us that.
24:41I'm sorry, officer.
24:42No, you're not, sir.
24:43You could've took this thing real quick.
24:45But no worry.
24:46You wanted to play the game.
24:47I was complying.
24:48Well, you didn't want to be complying.
24:49I was.
24:50You said, get off the road, get off the road.
24:51What started with a viral 2020 video,
24:53allegedly showing Miller choking a woman in an Iceland bar,
24:56spiraled into a string of arrests, accusations, and deeply troubling headlines.
25:01In March 2022, they were arrested in Hawaii after allegedly screaming at patrons in a karaoke bar,
25:07grabbing a microphone from one woman, and lunging at a man playing darts.
25:11What did I do wrong?
25:12You're getting on a super...
25:13You're getting somebody's face.
25:14Okay, the guy in that bar declared himself as a Nazi.
25:16I have it on film and he attacked me.
25:18Okay, so...
25:19Weeks later, they were arrested again after allegedly throwing a chair at a woman
25:23during a private gathering in Pahoa.
25:25The chaos didn't stop there.
25:27Miller also faced accusations of grooming and manipulation,
25:30including claims tied to activist Takoka Iron Eyes.
25:33And in August 2022, they were charged with felony burglary in Vermont.
25:36State police say they were notified of a possible burglary at Stanford...
25:42at a Stanford home, rather, on May 1st.
25:45Officers found several bottles of alcohol had been taken while the homeowners were not there.
25:49They were able to identify Miller using surveillance cameras.
25:53He was found late Sunday night and was issued a citation to appear in court next month.
25:57Number three.
25:58Mel Gibson derails his esteemed career with an anti-Semitic rant.
26:01How long have you been drinking again?
26:03A couple months.
26:05Years go by.
26:06You're fine.
26:07And then all of a sudden, in a heartbeat, in an instant, on an impulse,
26:10somebody shoves a glass of mezcal in front of your nose and says,
26:13It's from Oaxaca.
26:14And you go,
26:15And it's burning its way through your esophagus.
26:17And you go,
26:18Oh man, what did I do that for?
26:19Can't put the toothpaste back in the tube.
26:21This Oscar winner's 2006 DUI arrest did much more than embarrass him.
26:26It blew the lid off a much uglier side of his public image.
26:29After being stopped in Malibu,
26:31Gibson launched into an anti-Semitic rant.
26:33Purportedly telling Deputy James Mee that the Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world,
26:38while also making sexist remarks toward a female officer.
26:41Are those anti-Semitic words?
26:42Oh yeah.
26:44Yeah.
26:45Absolutely.
26:45Sounds horrible.
26:47And I'm ashamed of that.
26:48That came out of my mouth.
26:49And I'm not that.
26:50That's not who I am, you know.
26:52We have a world in which alcohol is used to excuse behavior.
26:57It's always, well, alcohol is used to kill pain.
27:00Once the police reported audio leaked, the damage was immediate and lasting.
27:05Gibson's behavior led to widespread condemnation,
27:08deepened existing concerns about his mental health,
27:10and left him toxic in much of Hollywood for years.
27:13He later mounted a partial comeback,
27:15even earning an Oscar nomination for directing Hacksaw Ridge.
27:17But the rant remains a black mark.
27:19I've heard people say, you know,
27:21I am a angry drunk.
27:24Fill in the blank.
27:25I am a happy drunk until I snap for no reason and just turn.
27:30Where does this anger come from?
27:32I have no idea.
27:33Just, I've been angry all my life.
27:35Um, uh, and I try not to have it manifest itself, you know.
27:40Number two, Kevin Spacey's history of abuse.
27:43Next tonight, Oscar winner Kevin Spacey responding to allegations from an actor
27:47that Spacey sexually assaulted him when he was a teenager.
27:50And Spacey's response tonight is igniting a firestorm on several fronts.
27:55What began in 2017 as a single allegation
27:57quickly turned into one of Hollywood's most devastating public downfalls.
28:01After Anthony Rapp accused Kevin Spacey of making a sexual advance toward him when he was 14,
28:06more men came forward with their own allegations of sexual misconduct,
28:09including claims tied to Spacey's years at London's Old Vic.
28:12Spacey posted a statement to Twitter saying he was horrified,
28:16but does not remember the encounter, adding,
28:18I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior.
28:23He then turned to the subject of his sexuality.
28:26I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life,
28:30and I choose now to live as a gay man.
28:32The fallout was immediate.
28:34Netflix cut ties with him on House of Cards,
28:36and Ridley Scott reshot his scenes in All the Money in the World.
28:39Spacey later won some major legal victories,
28:42including a 2022 civil case against Rapp,
28:44and a 2023 acquittal in London on criminal charges.
28:47But by then, the damage was done.
28:49Where I have been living in Baltimore is being foreclosed on.
28:53My house is being sold at auction.
28:55Really?
28:57So I have to go back to Baltimore and put all my things in storage.
29:02Really?
29:03So the answer to that question is, I'm not quite sure where I'm going to live now,
29:08but I've been in Baltimore for, since we started shooting House of Cards there.
29:12Number 1.
29:14Will Smith Slapped Chris Rock
29:16You know, there's many nuances and complexities to it, you know.
29:24But at the end of the day, I just, I lost it, you know.
29:28Yeah, you might have seen this one coming.
29:30During the 2022 Academy Awards,
29:32Smith stormed the stage after Chris Rock joked about Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved head,
29:37slapped the comedian on live television,
29:38then returned to his seat and shouted,
29:40Keep Will Smith's wife's name out your f***ing mouth!
29:47The sheer disbelief in the room said it all.
29:50This wasn't normal celebrity scandal fodder,
29:52but an inconceivable rupture in one of Hollywood's most tightly controlled prestige events.
29:57Smith still won Best Actor later that night for King Richard,
30:00but the victory was instantly swallowed by the chaos.
30:03The Academy subsequently banned him from attending the Oscars for 10 years.
30:06It was, you know, it was a lot of things.
30:09It was the little boy that watched his father beat up his mother, you know.
30:14It's, you know, all of that just bubbled up in that moment.
30:21You know, I just, that's not who I want to be, you know.
30:26You know, you've known me for a long time, so you know me personally, so you know.
