00:00So he could still name you?
00:01He could. Anything's possible.
00:04Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're looking at the actors we used to love.
00:07That is, until we found out about their reportedly awful real-life behavior.
00:11First, let's say grace.
00:13Jackie, would you like to take a knee?
00:17Ansel Elgort.
00:18This actor had a short rise and even shorter fall.
00:21Elgort first came to prominence with his turn in the young adult drama film,
00:24The Fault in Our Stars.
00:25I am in love with you.
00:30You heard me.
00:32He also gained some critical buzz over his performance in the 2017 action thriller Baby Driver.
00:38Elgort was officially Hollywood's hottest young actor when he was cast in 2021's West Side Story.
00:54And in 2020, someone named Gabby posted a tweet accusing Elgort of assaulting her
00:59when she was underage.
01:00Elgort responded that the relationship was brief, legal, and entirely consensual.
01:04Whatever the case, the accusation left a sour taste in many fans' mouths,
01:07and his reputation has never been the same since.
01:09One more job and I'm done.
01:11Gwyneth Paltrow.
01:12It's hard to believe now that Paltrow was ever seen as a heavyweight actor,
01:15with a penchant for period films.
01:17She even won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as Viola in Shakespeare in Love.
01:22Are you the author of the plays of William Shakespeare?
01:25I am.
01:26Then kiss me again, for I am not mistook.
01:29Paltrow's other ventures were decidedly not as well received.
01:31Starting in 2008, she launched a weekly newsletter, Goop,
01:34now expanded into an e-commerce empire, complete with a Netflix documentary series.
01:38The opportunity that we have with the Goop Lab is that as a company,
01:42we can go out in different groups and go on a much deeper dive into some of these topics
01:47that our readers are curious about.
01:49Goop got backlash for its dabbling in pseudoscience and misinformation,
01:53recommending the use of jade eggs, psychedelic substances, and cold therapy.
01:58You can say Paltrow's reputation is now covered in Goop.
02:01How fascinating that any discordancy between us must always arise from my being wrong.
02:06Not fascinating, but true.
02:08Alec Baldwin.
02:09This award-winning actor had a big fall.
02:11As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac El Dorado.
02:14Anybody want to see second prize?
02:17Second prize is a set of steak knives.
02:22Third prize is you're fired.
02:24From Oscar-winning films to Saturday Night Live impressions to even a Tony nomination,
02:29Baldwin was considered a major actor with an impressive range.
02:32Time has slowed down.
02:34You never age.
02:37It's paradise.
02:38This all changed when Baldwin accidentally shot and killed cinematographer
02:42Helena Hutchins with a prop gun on the set of Rust.
02:45From there came litigation, as Hutchins' family filed a wrongful death suit against Baldwin.
02:49In 2023, he was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter, to which he pleaded not guilty.
02:55In 2024, a grand jury indicted Baldwin, and his own countersuit went nowhere.
02:59While Baldwin avoided prison time, this tragedy now looms over his achievements.
03:03And for me, the stress and the pressure of public life, at my age, that's not good for my mental
03:09health.
03:10Fred Savage.
03:11This promising young actor's first breakthrough is his role as the grandson in the classic film The Princess Bride.
03:16Is this a kissing book?
03:18Wait, just wait.
03:19When does it get good?
03:21He's best known for his turn as Kevin Arnold in the nostalgic show The Wonder Years.
03:24So, like, I want to be a professional baseball player, but my fallbacks are either an astronaut or a floor
03:31changer.
03:31Sadly, Savage turned out to live up to his surname.
03:34The costume designer for The Wonder Years accused Savage of sexual harassment, citing verbal and physical intimidation.
03:39Yet another costume designer, this time for The Grinder, also filed a complaint against the actor.
03:44This time for assault and battery.
03:46What are you doing in here?
03:47Oh, hi.
03:49I'm just really distraught and sad.
03:54Savage was fired from The Wonder Years reboot due to alleged inappropriate conduct.
03:58Much like the titular Wonder Years, our fond memories of Savage are in the past.
04:02It's not going to happen, is it?
04:04Asia Argento.
04:05This lauded Italian actress helped break a culture of silence and complicity,
04:09accusing disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein of violating her.
04:13So it was a shock to many when Argento got allegations of her own.
04:16I want immunity from prosecution.
04:19I saw them in the U.S. and citizenship.
04:22How about a condo on South Beach and a rich boyfriend?
04:25Those I can get for myself.
04:26In 2018, actor Jimmy Bennett accused Argento of assaulting him when he was underage.
04:31Argento denied she had a sexual relationship with Bennett and asserted that her partner, Anthony Bourdain, paid him off.
04:36Later, a photo of Argento and Bennett together was released.
04:39Then Argento's attorney admitted there was a sexual encounter.
04:43The cycle of abuse still continues and it wounds us all.
04:46Sean Connery.
04:47He was Bond.
04:48James Bond.
04:49And to many international fans, the best one.
04:51When did you say you had to leave?
04:55Immediately.
04:59Almost immediately.
05:01Connery also went on to work with legendary directors such as Alfred Hitchcock, Sidney Lumet, and Steven Spielberg.
05:06What's his name?
05:08Henry Jones Jr.
05:10Like Indiana.
05:12We're named the dog Indiana.
05:14But like his most famous character, Connery soon displayed a misogyny as overt as it was off-putting.
05:19As early as 1965, he had claimed there was nothing wrong with hitting a woman, particularly if she were hysterical
05:25or bloody-minded.
05:26In a 1987 interview with a critical Barbara Walters, Connery doubled down on his remarks.
05:32But I think that it depends entirely on the circumstances and if it merits it.
05:36In 2006, Connery finally backtracked from his assertions.
05:39Still, his first wife, Diane Cilento, alleged in her autobiography that Connery had abused her mentally and physically.
05:45Unfortunately, it very much tracks.
05:48Cuba Gooding Jr.
05:49Breaking out in Boys in the Hood and Jerry Maguire, it initially seemed Gooding Jr.'s rising star would never die.
05:54Show me the money.
06:00In 2016, he even snagged an Emmy nomination for his work in the People vs. O.J. Simpson American Crime
06:05Story.
06:06And how do you plead to counts one and two?
06:11Absolutely, 100%, not guilty.
06:13Alas, it was too good to be true.
06:15Gooding Jr. got charged with groping a woman at a bar and it only gets worse from there.
06:19Since 2020, 30 women have come forward with their stories, with one even filing a lawsuit accusing Gooding Jr. of
06:25assault.
06:26The award-winning actor, perhaps best known for his role in the movie Jerry Maguire, surrounded by his defense team
06:32as he walked out of the courthouse.
06:33As recently as 2024, Gooding Jr. was accused of groping and fondling music producer Rodney Jones.
06:40John Barrowman.
06:40This Scottish talent exposed too much of it.
06:43How you been, doctor?
06:47From immortal pansexual Captain Jack Harkness in Doctor Who, to his song and dance man in many musical films, Barrowman
06:53was a triple-N quadruple threat to remember.
06:56Night and day.
06:58Try E flat.
07:00Day and night.
07:04Unfortunately, Barrowman's extroversion gained a dark dimension when his co-stars began talking about his tendencies to expose himself.
07:10Barrowman even claimed to have taken out his member behind a piano during a performance of Sunset Boulevard, much to
07:16Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's consternation.
07:18And of course, Barrowman has been hit with sexual harassment accusations.
07:21Many would prefer to see less of Barrowman from now on.
07:24Do you regret your behavior?
07:26I don't regret anything.
07:28TJ Miller.
07:29It's not always the funny ones, but it is often the funny ones.
07:32You look like a ferret that gave up on himself six months ago, Guilfoyle.
07:35A comedy actor known chiefly for his supporting roles, Miller appeared in the superhero comedy film Deadpool and its sequel.
07:41He was torturing me, but all I told him was everything he wanted to know.
07:45His modest acting career, however, has been profoundly eclipsed by his real-life crimes.
07:50Miller has been arrested and jailed for alleged physical assault.
07:53He also has his own accusation of assault with an ex-partner from college accusing him of violence.
07:58Miller was arrested for making a false bomb threat while on an Amtrak train as well.
08:01His charges were eventually dismissed.
08:03Still, there's a reason why he wasn't in Deadpool and Wolverine.
08:07Jada Pinkett Smith.
08:08Now this is a mess.
08:10Pinkett Smith's career may not have been as gilded as her more famous husband's,
08:13but she has had some star turns in the Matrix franchise in particular.
08:16I can't help it, Morpheus.
08:18I can't help thinking.
08:19What if you're wrong?
08:21But her messy marriage is by far the most famous thing about her.
08:24In 2020, Pinkett Smith was accused of having an adulterous affair with singer and rapper August Alsina when he was
08:2923.
08:29Not only that, but Alsina claimed it was with Smith's approval.
08:35Pinkett Smith protested that she and her husband had been separated since 2016,
08:40although that did not stop Smith from hitting Chris Rock for his joke about her in an infamous moment at
08:44the 94th Academy Awards.
08:47Gary Busey.
08:47This American actor first achieved success with his breakthrough role as Buddy Holly in the 1978 biopic.
08:53Thank you very much.
08:54It's good to be in Clear Lake, Iowa.
08:56It's pretty cold up here, though.
08:58He was even nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor.
09:01He was involved in many great 80s action films.
09:03Busey's reputation since then, however, has definitely tanked.
09:07In 2022, he was accused of groping two women and even pled guilty to one count of criminal sexual contact.
09:12Busey was sentenced to two years probation in 2025.
09:15A brain injury due to a 1988 motorcycle accident may explain some of this errant behavior,
09:20but it is still off-putting, to say the least.
09:22You know, it don't matter how we wish things were.
09:26It matters how we deal with how they are.
09:29Carla Sofia Gascon.
09:30This actress starring in the controversial Cannes winner, Emilia Perez, has had her own controversies.
09:42Gascon first made waves when she became the first openly transgender actress to win the Cannes Film Festival Award for
09:48Best Actress.
09:49Gascon soon attracted ire, however, when she tried to defend the film from criticisms of its stereotypical portrayals of Mexican
09:55and trans women characters.
09:57Old inflammatory tweets of hers then arose, expressing Islamophobic and other hateful sentiments.
10:02I am neither racist nor anything that all these people have tried to make others believe I am, she said,
10:10speaking in Spanish on CNN without Netflix's approval.
10:14Gascon apologized and deleted her ex-account, but the damage to her reputation was done, with Netflix removing her from
10:19Emilia Perez's awards campaign.
10:25Gina Carano
10:26A former martial artist, Carano seemed like the perfect pick to portray the equally tough Cara Dune in Star Wars
10:31spinoff, The Mandalorian.
10:33How'd you end up here?
10:35Let's just call it an early retirement.
10:37In 2021, however, Carano shared an Instagram post seeming to compare American conservatives to Jews in Nazi Germany.
10:44She also made a series of posts alleging voter fraud and mocking using a face mask during the pandemic.
10:48Well, if you're a fan of the show and you watch, this is not the way.
10:53Lucasfilm fired her from the series and the United Talent Agency likewise dropped her.
10:57In 2024, Carano filed a Ronquil dismissal lawsuit against Disney over her firing.
11:02The parties eventually settled outside of court.
11:04Loven, until our paths cross.
11:09Until our paths cross.
11:11Gérard Depardieu
11:12It's official, never meet your heroes.
11:15Depardieu is undeniably a French film icon,
11:17starring in more than 200 films since 1967.
11:26His first breakthrough role was in 1974's Going Places.
11:30His private life, however, is not as gilded.
11:32The first red flag came early in 1977
11:34when Depardieu himself claimed he had participated in an assault as a minor
11:39and that there was no such thing as assault in the first place.
11:41C'est bien. Je continue.
11:43Donc, je désire voir le théâtre guéri de cette fluxion.
11:49Sinon...
11:50Unsurprisingly, Depardieu has since then been accused of assault in 2018, 2023, and 2024
11:56by over a dozen women, as well as groping and other misconduct.
12:00In 2025, Depardieu was finally convicted of both counts of assault,
12:04given an 18-month suspended sentence.
12:07Chris Pratt
12:07Chris Pratt's movie star trajectory initially suggested he would become this generation's Harrison Ford.
12:13You have the bearing of a man of honor.
12:15Well, I, you know, I wouldn't say that.
12:18People say it about me all the time,
12:20but it's not something I would ever say about myself.
12:25First starring in Parks and Recreation,
12:27Pratt's career really took off when he portrayed Star-Lord
12:30in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.
12:32Cinematic charm is one thing, his personal life is another.
12:35Pratt raised many eyebrows when it was revealed he went to an anti-LGBTQIA plus church
12:40and was called out by Elliot Page himself.
12:42Pratt defended his church, stating that it opens their doors to absolutely everyone.
12:46The media has dubbed him the worst of the Hollywood Chris's since 2020.
12:50The backlash is indeed here.
12:52Are you crying?
12:53No, I'm not crying, okay? I'm allergic to jerks!
12:56Casey Affleck
12:57This Affleck began as a young actor in his brother Ben's film Good Will Hunting,
13:01as well as a host of other films.
13:03My boy's wicked smile.
13:06His 2017 performance as a grief-stricken man in Manchester by the Sea
13:09earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor.
13:12About halfway there.
13:14I can't remember if I put a screen on the fireplace.
13:26I figure it's okay.
13:28Still, Affleck's reputation has not been pristine.
13:30He has had his fair share of sexual harassment lawsuits, settling two of them out of court.
13:35Thus, his Best Actor win was a controversial one.
13:37Affleck withdrew from presenting the award for Best Actress the following year,
13:41and has issued statements regretting his attitude.
13:43I can't beat it.
13:50I can't beat it.
13:52Jeffrey Jones
13:53We're going to issue a content warning for this one.
13:56If Ferris thinks that he can just coast through this month and still graduate,
14:00he is sorely mistaken.
14:02I have no reservation whatsoever about holding him back another year.
14:10Jones is best known for his role in the classic 80s comedies,
14:13Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Beetlejuice.
14:15What is the point of my coming up here if you people won't let me relax?
14:18None of that matters, though, because in 2002,
14:20Jones was arrested for possessing inappropriate material involving minors.
14:24He was also accused of soliciting a boy to produce explicit images.
14:27Jones was sentenced to five years probation
14:29and is now on the sex offender registries in California and Florida.
14:33He was arrested twice in 2004 for failing to update his status,
14:36receiving three years of probation.
14:39Well, that it is.
14:42James Woods
14:43This lauded film and TV actor has had a highly storied career.
14:46Is that a Japanese configuration?
14:51You've never heard of it?
14:52No.
14:53Then there have been serious gaps in your education.
14:56Even so, he garnered some backlash for his increasingly distasteful politics online,
15:00starting as a Democrat and ending up a Trump supporter.
15:03Woods was dropped from his talent agency.
15:05Just make America, America again, please.
15:09He was also locked out of his Twitter account multiple times for TOS violations.
15:13In 2017, Woods continued posting tweets and responding to innocuous posts with inflammatory language.
15:18During the 2020 election, Woods was even found to be a major purveyor of election misinformation.
15:22And in 2023, he advocated against a ceasefire in the Gaza War with a concerning hashtag.
15:28What?
15:30Okay, fine, fine.
15:31I'm cool.
15:31I'm fine.
15:33Louis C.K.
15:34Once known for his stand-up comedy,
15:35now C.K. is mostly known for being one of the most high-profile hashtag MeToo cases.
15:40I get really sweaty all the time.
15:44And that's also bad for sex because I just sweat, I just rain sweat all over people.
15:51Rumors of his sexual impropriety began as early as 2017.
15:54In the New York Times, five women allege that C.K. touched himself in front of them,
15:58along with other misconduct.
15:59To have these allegations come out was really a shock to fans.
16:04C.K. admitted guilt, claiming that the act had been done with permission.
16:07The distribution of his film I Love You, Daddy was cancelled,
16:10and his animated series was as well.
16:12Still, C.K. has continued to do stand-up comedy, announcing a tour in 2025.
16:17Jared Leto
16:17An actor and musician, Leto had a string of critically acclaimed films under his belt.
16:22Ma, Ma, Ma, come on now, please Ma.
16:32Excelling in tough and gritty roles, some of his notable performances include a substance user in
16:36Requiem for a Dream and a trans woman in Dallas Buyers Club, for which he earned an Academy Award
16:40for Best Supporting Actor.
16:42I can handle your insults, but 5%.
16:46But when Leto took on the role of the Joker for the latest DC film,
16:50audiences were turned off by reports of his extreme method acting,
16:53which included sending gifts of live rats and bullets to his co-stars.
16:56And while his Joker was received positively by critics, audiences were less than enamored.
17:01Meanwhile, he denied the multiple allegations of sexual impropriety
17:05that were leveled against him in 2025.
17:07Would you die for me?
17:12Yes.
17:13That's too easy.
17:17Were you...
17:19Would you live for me?
17:21Gal Gadot, the woman who once took the world by storm with her extraordinary beauty,
17:26fell from grace due to her politics.
17:28There was a time when her name drew massive crowds to movie theaters,
17:30like for the film Wonder Woman.
17:32In the name of all that is good in this world,
17:34I hereby complete the mission of the Amazons.
17:37By ridding this world of you.
17:39Despite her popularity, though, she was never really recognized as an exceptional actress by critics.
17:44She was, however, praised for devoting her time to humanitarian causes like female empowerment.
17:53When this advocacy extended to her showing support for the Israel Defense Forces,
17:57where she briefly served, many fans turned their backs on her.
18:00Still, that didn't stop her from being outspoken about standing with Israel in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,
18:05and that was her undoing.
18:06The long-awaited honor, tarnished to a degree.
18:10Chris Noth.
18:11Everyone knew Big was a walking red flag,
18:13but we didn't think that the actor playing him on Sex and the City would turn out to be even
18:17worse.
18:17Really?
18:18Yeah.
18:19Chris Noth had everything going for him until 2021,
18:22when several women came forward with allegations of sexual assault against him.
18:26With this image in ruins, he lost business deals left and right and was removed from the shows he was
18:32working on.
18:32In no time, he disappeared from the limelight, despite maintaining his innocence.
18:37No always means no.
18:38That is a line I did not cross.
18:41In his words, the only thing he was guilty of was stepping out on his wife.
18:44However, people were having none of it.
18:46Naturally, in May 2025, news about his casting and Craig Singer's The Block was met with a lukewarm response.
18:52Blake Lively.
18:53The movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel It Ends With Us was highly anticipated.
18:57However, when the film came out, lead actress Blake Lively appeared to downplay its message against domestic violence,
19:03promoting her hair care brand, Blake Brown, instead.
19:06I don't want it.
19:06Read it.
19:07Things got worse when journalist Gerstie Fla released an old clip of herself interviewing Lively,
19:12who seemed dismissive toward her.
19:13First of all, congrats on your little bump.
19:16Congrats on your little bump.
19:18Netizens started digging up more video evidence of the actress being a so-called mean girl,
19:22which maligned her reputation.
19:23Soon after, it was revealed that Blake had sued her IEWU co-star, Justin Baldoni, for sexual harassment,
19:30while the New York Times accused him of orchestrating a smear campaign against her.
19:33Baldoni denied the claims, but both actors took a hit to their popularity.
19:36Blake Lively suffered hugely in the summer, and now Justin Baldoni's reputation is taking a real hit.
19:42Jonathan Majors
19:43It didn't take this actor long to achieve critical and commercial success after making himself known through the show When
19:48We Rise in 2017.
19:49He had an Emmy nomination for Lovecraft Country and was a part of the MCU, playing Kang the Conqueror by
19:542021.
19:55However, his career came to a halt when he was arrested for committing intimate partner violence against his ex, Grace
20:01Jabari.
20:01I loved Grace.
20:02Our relationship was, it was not healthy, you know, and that began to reveal itself.
20:08He was later convicted of attacking and harassing her, but managed to date Megan Good in the meantime, who he
20:13later married.
20:13Not only did Jonathan's career go downhill, but Good had to face the consequences of his actions, too,
20:18as she lost several brand deals just because of her association with him.
20:22No wonder her fans are upset.
20:23This individual, this entertainer, this athlete has done this.
20:27Now we're going to cast him, throw the book at him.
20:28James Franco
20:29Once a Hollywood golden boy, this Oscar-nominated actor was dragged down from his pedestal after being hit with multiple
20:35allegations of sexual misconduct.
20:37I was sent a couple of the tweets, so yeah, I did read them.
20:41I haven't responded.
20:44I think, well, the ones I read were not accurate.
20:48He admitted to having sexual relations with his acting mentees, who claimed they were exploited with the promise of roles.
20:54He was also inappropriately involved with a teenager.
20:57What was even more hypocritical was that amid his scandals, he showed up to the 2018 Golden Globes wearing a
21:02Time's Up pin.
21:03I can't, the way I live my life, I can't live if, if there's restitution to be made.
21:08After an extended hiatus, the actor's back in showbiz with multiple projects in the pipeline.
21:13However, he's no longer the media darling he once was.
21:15I've had girlfriends.
21:17I could never be faithful to anybody, so I cheated on everyone.
21:21Shia LaBeouf, known for his prodigious talent, this former Disney star disappointed countless fans when he repeatedly landed himself in
21:29hot water.
21:30From substance use to unruly behavior in public and even going to court for petty larceny, Shia went through several
21:36major rough patches.
21:37And a person tells me there's another party outside, and I'm thinking, oh, well, okay, and I see six cops
21:42having their own party.
21:44However, the tipping point came when his former girlfriend, performer FKA Twigs, revealed she had faced abuse and non-consensual
21:50sexual misconduct from him.
21:52It's not one thing, it's loads of tiny little things that get sewn together into a nightmare.
21:56She brought a lawsuit against the actor, alleging that he had acted similarly with another ex, Carolyn Foe.
22:02By this point, his reputation was far beyond repair.
22:05But either way, you're going to be humbled in this life.
22:10And there's nothing you can do about it.
22:12Russell Brand, this entertainment industry veteran, had more ups and downs in his career than a rollercoaster ride.
22:17I look elsewhere for alternatives that might be of service to humanity.
22:21From his time as a progressive comedian to acting and now spreading conspiracy theories and anti-woke rhetoric on YouTube,
22:28Russell Brand has been all over the place.
22:30However, the fact that he has lasted this long in the spotlight is a shocker.
22:34Since 2006, Brand has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women.
22:38It was only in 2025 that he was sued at London's High Court of Justice for his misconduct and simultaneously
22:43in New York for sexual assault on the set of Arthur.
22:46He has denied these allegations and has many supporters, but has undeniably fallen out of favor with the general public.
22:52He has been granted bail, but as a condition of that, he has had to give the court today his
22:58address, not just here in the UK, but also his address in America.
23:02Stephen Collins.
23:03As Eric Camden in Seventh Heaven, this actor was one of the most beloved TV dads of all time.
23:07Right now, I think we should stay focused on the problem at hand.
23:10So when it was revealed that he was not only a sexual offender, but had been indecent toward minors, it
23:15marked a point of no return.
23:16He admitted to his wrongdoings and called himself a, quote, flawed person as if to excuse his behavior.
23:21I admit to, apologize for, and take responsibility for what I did.
23:25Now, he's said to be living with a woman 40 years his junior, as revealed on Investigation Discovery's Hollywood Demons.
23:31Needless to say, his acting career is behind him.
23:33I would say, with all my heart, I am sorry.
23:38Lena Dunham, the girl's creator, has been canceled more times than we can count.
23:42I would say our difference was that I was amazing at my job and he couldn't handle it.
23:48In her book, Not That Kind of Girl, she wrongfully implicated an innocent man into sexual assault she said she
23:53faced.
23:54In the same book, she recalled acting inappropriately toward her sibling, likening herself to a sexual predator.
23:59There were also racism allegations against her, amplified by her false remarks about Odell Beckham Jr.'s disinterest in her at
24:05the 2016 Met Gala.
24:06She once said she wished she could have experienced a pregnancy termination, just to relate to women who have.
24:11The worst case was her supporting Murray Miller, who was accused of sexual assault by Aurora Perrineau.
24:17Lena always ends up apologizing, but hasn't really managed to earn forgiveness.
24:21That's great. Do you feel like they're accepting of you? Do they like your vibe?
24:24Nope.
24:25Okay.
24:26But I like their vibe, and that's what matters.
24:28Oh, that's all that matters.
24:29Jussie Smollett.
24:30The success this actor achieved through his role as Jamal Lyon in Empire was overshadowed by a messy scandal.
24:36In 2019, Jussie Smollett filed a police report claiming he had been subject to a race and sexuality-based hate
24:41crime.
24:42Dozen detectives are pursuing new leads, including grainy photos of two persons of interest.
24:48However, upon further investigation, it turned out that he had allegedly staged the attack because he wasn't happy with his
24:53pay on Empire.
24:54Chicago police also alleged that a racist letter he received was actually self-written.
24:57How can you doubt that? Like, how do you not believe that? It's the truth.
25:02Smollett insisted that the attack was not a fabrication despite being found guilty of lying to authorities.
25:07A grand jury on Tuesday indicted Smollett on six counts of disorderly conduct.
25:12In 2024, the judgment was rescinded and he returned to the entertainment world, writing and directing films.
25:18However, with how he was perceived to have manipulated public opinion, he was hardly welcomed back.
25:22Zachary Levi
25:23After making his name as the lead on the show Chuck, Levi hit the big time as the title character
25:28in 2019's Shazam.
25:29We still don't know if the shoot is bulletproof or if you are.
25:34Shoot him in the face.
25:35Shoot me in the face.
25:36In the face?
25:36During an uncertain future of DC films, it was a smash hit.
25:40But then came the sequel, 2023's Shazam Fury of the Gods, which wasn't well received.
25:45That same year, Levi began his decline by promoting his anti-vaccine beliefs.
25:48Throw in Levi claiming that the film industry is making garbage, criticizing the actor's strike and endorsing controversial political candidates,
25:55and his stock fell significantly.
25:57Somehow, it got worse when he claimed She Loves Me co-star Gavin Creel's death from cancer was from the
26:02COVID-19 vaccine.
26:03And I do believe I have just enough humility to recognize that even though I feel very convicted of what
26:09I believe in, I could be wrong.
26:11Chevy Chase
26:12First, may I thank you all for being here, and I am in my immediate family.
26:17First, may I thank you all for being here, and I am in my immediate family.
26:23Now, this actor fell hard from grace.
26:25In the 90s, Chase was riding high, becoming a breakout cast member and writer on Saturday Night Live.
26:30He became a household name with Caddyshack in the National Lampoon's vacation films.
26:34Dad, do you want to ask for something?
26:36Don't touch!
26:38Unfortunately, his behavior ruined it all.
26:40Chase got into a fistfight with Bill Murray, and reportedly uttered racist, sexist, and homophobic remarks to his fellow cast
26:47members.
26:47Perhaps it was due to his obnoxious personality that his talk show failed.
26:51Cancelled by Fox after only five weeks.
26:53We're not Chevy Chase, and that's a good thing.
26:56Good night, and have a pleasant tomorrow.
26:59Fatty Arbuckle
26:59Comedian Roscoe Fatty Arbuckle is charged with manslaughter.
27:04In his prime, Roscoe Fatty Arbuckle was as big a silent comedy film star as Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton.
27:09In 1921, a year after signing a $1 million deal with Paramount, Arbuckle's legacy was forever ruined.
27:16During a party, actor Virginia Rapet allegedly experienced some form of trauma in Arbuckle's hotel suite.
27:21A few days later, she passed away.
27:23Arbuckle was accused of assaulting Rapet, leading to her demise.
27:26As such, he was arrested and tried for murder.
27:28After two mistrials, Arbuckle was acquitted and unusually received an apology letter from the jury.
27:33Regardless, no one wanted to hire him or show his films.
27:36Arbuckle had to use his pseudonym to get work.
27:38After a brief comeback in 1933, he passed away.
27:41Listen, why don't you do something to help me?
27:44Well, what would you suggest I do?
27:46Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis
27:47After finding their acting feat on That 70s Show, Kutcher and Kunis carved out successful careers in Hollywood.
27:53You're getting married?
27:54We married.
27:56That's our second remarriage.
27:59This one's gonna stick, right?
28:01They later became one of the industry's biggest power couples.
28:04Their shared enterprises include the non-profit Thorn, which specializes in defending children from abuse.
28:10However, in 2023, during the trial of their former colleague and friend, Danny Masterson,
28:14the couple were found to have sent a letter to the judge pleading for leniency for a sentence.
28:18The backlash only grew upon Kutcher and Kunis releasing an apology video, which many felt was insincere,
28:24especially when they stated the letter wasn't supposed to be public.
28:26They were intended for the judge to read and not to undermine the testimony of the victims
28:32or re-traumatize them in any way.
28:34We would never want to do that.
28:35The further controversy from the video forced Kutcher to resign from Thorn.
28:39Felicity Huffman
28:40In 2019, the Varsity Blues scandal broke.
28:43The FBI found that several families had paid an organization to bribe or commit fraud
28:47by inflating exam results to get students into various U.S. colleges.
28:51High-power New York attorney Gordon Kaplan publicly apologizing.
28:55The first parent caught up in the Varsity Blues scandal to do so, saying he's sorry first
29:00and foremost to his daughter.
29:02One of those involved in the scheme was the Emmy-winning Desperate Housewives star Felicity
29:06Huffman.
29:07After pleading guilty, she was sentenced to 14 days in jail and a year of supervised release,
29:11fined $30,000 and ordered to complete 250 hours of community service.
29:16Since then, Huffman has had bit parts in TV shows.
29:18Different state, different court, different law.
29:22Same principle.
29:22I don't think I can convince a judge that that is-
29:25Let me try.
29:26Another famous performer involved in the scandal was Full House star Lori Loughlin.
29:30After pleading guilty to the charges, Loughlin was sentenced to two months in jail,
29:34while husband Massimo Giannulli got five months.
29:37Mel Gibson
29:37I don't make things complicated.
29:39That's just the way things get all by themselves.
29:41On top of starring in cult franchises like Lethal Weapon and Mad Max, Gibson was the
29:46Oscar-winning director of 1995's Braveheart.
29:48As such, he was once one of the most in-demand and celebrated performers around.
29:52Then 2006 happened.
29:53While being arrested for a DUI, Gibson was recorded going on an anti-Semitic rant.
29:58Hollywood wanted nothing to do with him for years.
30:00Just as Gibson began working again in 2010, a threatening, racially-charged voicemail to
30:05former partner Oksana Gregorieva was made public.
30:08He later pleaded no contest to a battery charge against Gregorieva and got 36 months of probation.
30:14Both of these events got him blacklisted for major Hollywood roles.
30:17Why do I have a first draft of both my movies?
30:24Will Smith
30:25From rapper to TV star, Smith soon rose to the ranks of Hollywood's most bankable stars
30:29with roles in Ali, I, Robot, and many more.
30:32I am the greatest.
30:34I'm a bad man.
30:35I should love the world.
30:37At the 2022 Oscars, he was nominated for his work in King Richard.
30:40While Smith won his first ever Oscar, what he did earlier in the event vastly overshadowed
30:45this triumph.
30:46After presenter Chris Rock made a joke about Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, the actor
30:50went on stage and slapped Rock in the face.
30:52Then, sitting back down, Smith yelled threats at Rock.
30:55People like, did it hurt?
30:56It still hurts!
30:59I got summertime ringing in my ears.
31:02While he apologized and resigned from the Academy, the group banned him from all events
31:06for 10 years.
31:07Ellen DeGeneres
31:08After making her name as a stand-up comic and transitioning into acting, DeGeneres found
31:12her true calling as a talk show host with The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
31:16It's very important, the director says, to walk out and hit this mark.
31:21You gotta stand right there, so, um.
31:26For nearly two decades, her show was one of the premier places for celebrities to promote
31:31themselves and their work.
31:32However, in 2020, former workers on the program came out with allegations about the toxic experience
31:37they had on DeGeneres' show.
31:39As a host, she's amazing.
31:40As a host.
31:41But as a boss, and someone who's behind the scenes running the show, she's a different
31:46person.
31:47She's not the person people see in front of the camera.
31:50The accusations included racist microaggressions, executives harassing female employees, and
31:55firing staff for taking medical or bereavement leave.
31:57The controversy was so bad that DeGeneres apologized for it on her show.
32:01A few months later, it was confirmed that The Ellen DeGeneres Show would end in 2022.
32:06Charlie Sheen
32:10It seemed like Sheen would be the next breakout star in Hollywood after his work in 1986's
32:15Splatoon and 1987's Wall Street.
32:17However, a string of controversies stopped that.
32:19By 2003, Sheen was cast in Two and a Half Men, turning him into TV's highest ever paid
32:24actor.
32:24However, in 2011, the wheels of his career came off very publicly.
32:28I've spent, I think, close to the last decade effortlessly and magically converting your tin
32:34cans into pure gold, and the gratitude I get in this, get is this charlatan.
32:39After struggling with substance issues and criticizing the show's co-creator Chuck Lurie
32:43multiple times, Sheen was fired from Two and a Half Men.
32:46The actor then conducted a series of unsettling interviews where he claimed he had tiger blood.
32:50Beyond getting his own series in anger management, his reputation was further tarnished with accusations
32:55of assault against Corey Haim and against Sheen's exes.
32:58Alice and Mack
32:59If you were to ask Smallville fans their favorite character, many would have selected Clark Kent's
33:03BFF, Chloe Sullivan.
33:05You're a superhero.
33:07Chloe.
33:08I'm serious, Clark.
33:10If more humans were like you, the world would be a better place.
33:13Actress Allison Mack continued to appear in various productions after Smallville ended
33:17in 2011.
33:18However, in 2018, she was arrested.
33:20Twelve years prior, she joined the cult NXIVM, rising up through the ranks of what was publicly
33:24a multi-level marketing company.
33:26Privately, an indoctrinated and extorted people into being slaves for its founder, Keith Raniere,
33:31and other masters.
33:33I just thought, I believe Allison.
33:34I wanted to do well in this program, and I wanted to be promoted, and I was never going
33:40to share this secret.
33:41In 2019, Mack pleaded guilty to a series of charges and helped the authorities gather
33:45evidence against Raniere.
33:46She was ultimately sentenced to three years in jail and was released in 2023.
33:50James Corden
33:51At one point, James Corden was a respected actor and creator with work on Gavin and Stacey
33:55in A League of Their Own.
33:56But when the Brit moved across the pond to take on The Late Late Show with James Corden,
34:05it wasn't long until he began falling foul of people.
34:07In 2022, Corden was accused of abusive behavior at the New York restaurant Balthazar when staff
34:12apparently made his wife's meal incorrectly.
34:14This earned the host a ban from the eatery, which was rescinded when Corden apologized.
34:18However, he then flip-flopped on his responsibility, causing the ban to be reinstated.
34:22I've been walking around thinking that I hadn't done anything wrong.
34:25This incident also brought to light other alleged Corden incidents that further tarnished
34:29his reputation.
34:30The restaurant manager and the server, they were lovely.
34:32They were lovely.
34:33They brought out four glasses of champagne as an apology.
34:36But we were like, that's not necessary.
34:38We don't need it.
34:38We'd had a great time.
34:39Even for me, it was too early to start drinking.
34:42Lea Michele
34:43Mr. Schuster, do you have any idea how ridiculous it is to give the lead solo and sit down and
34:48rock on the boat to a boy in a wheelchair?
34:50Whether she was releasing her own music or starring in Glee, Scream Queens, or popular stage productions,
34:55Lea Michele was lapping up nominations and awards all over the place.
34:58The sky really seemed the limit for her.
35:00But then 2020 happened.
35:01That year, Michele posted in support of the Black Lives Matter movement on social media.
35:05In response, several former Glee co-stars came forward to shine a light on her hypocrisy
35:10and terrible behavior behind the scenes.
35:12On top of microaggressions, Michele was accused of racist behavior and being rude to various
35:16people on set.
35:17I just got you on the cover of New York Magazine!
35:20In the background.
35:21You were practically glowing about it.
35:22That's because I accomplished something.
35:24It had nothing to do with you.
35:25No, see?
35:26It actually has everything to do with me.
35:28This included apparently calling background performers cockroaches.
35:31While Michele apologized, it was too late.
35:33You get great grades.
35:34You're a fantastic singer.
35:35Everybody hates me.
35:36Brands and fans left the actor in droves.
35:39Armie Hammer.
35:40Is there any way to make this a fair fight?
35:43Jump out and swim.
35:45After roles in the social network, the man from UNCLE and Call Me By Your Name, Armie Hammer
35:50appeared to be on the cusp of superstardom.
35:52So what do you do around here?
35:56Read books.
35:57Transcribe music.
35:58Swim at the river.
36:01Do out at night.
36:02That sounds fun.
36:04After all, he was cast as a lead in 2022's Death on the Nile.
36:07However, the publicity for that film was wrecked once the scandal about Hammer came out in 2021.
36:12That was naughty of me.
36:15Hello.
36:17I hope you don't mind.
36:18I took the liberty.
36:19The actor was accused of both physical and emotional abusive behavior with ex-partners.
36:23Film companies, fans, agencies, and brands dropped the actor all at once.
36:27Were you surprised when you saw what was going on with him?
36:31To be honest with you, I wasn't shocked because it was multi-generational, just awful behavior.
36:38He's pretty much vanished from the public eye since, but did go on to admit to being emotionally
36:42abusive in his relationships.
36:43We'll speak soon?
36:47Amber Heard.
36:48We should turn back.
36:50We can still warn the surface, try to prepare him for what's coming.
36:53Turn back.
36:54With the end of their marriage, the accusations of abuse, and the numerous court cases,
36:58neither party came out of this debacle looking especially favorable.
37:01However, it's safe to say Amber Heard was not the winner of the court of public opinion.
37:04She was accused of abusive behavior and having marital affairs.
37:07Social media was rife with people mocking the Aquaman performer and her legal team during
37:11the infamous 2022 defamation trial.
37:14The jury sided with Depp by awarding him $15 million, while Heard was awarded $2 million.
37:19Do you find that Mr. Depp has proven all the elements of defamation?
37:23Answer, yes.
37:25And this only made it worse for her.
37:27Afterwards, she moved to Spain to escape the scrutiny.
37:29However, the public condemnation returned during the release of 2023's Aquaman in the Lost Kingdom.
37:34I don't care what one thinks about me or what judgments you want to make about what happened
37:40in the privacy of my own home, in my marriage, behind closed doors.
37:43Kevin Spacey.
37:55After receiving two Oscar awards, Kevin Spacey ushered in the Netflix original era with his
37:59Golden Globe winning role in House of Cards.
38:01I need somebody I can talk to.
38:03We're talking.
38:05Tell me what we're talking about.
38:06Every project he was on seemed to often become a critical hit.
38:09Then, in 2017, actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of assaulting him when he was a teenager.
38:14Spacey made sexual advances toward him after a party when they were both on Broadway.
38:18Spacey was 26.
38:20Spacey's response didn't help when he claimed he didn't remember the encounter, apologized
38:23for it happening, and then came out as gay, which drew the ire of many.
38:27When the allegations came to light, Spacey was dropped by House of Cards.
38:30I've led a very long, very successful career avoiding this sort of intrigue with the press.
38:35I can't see any advantage in starting now.
38:37But is there any disadvantage?
38:39Yet he continued parodying his character in strange annual YouTube videos.
38:43The actor has faced several court cases with further allegations.
38:46However, they have ended in Spacey's favor.
38:48After that, my guess is you'll never hear from him again.
38:58Michael Richards
38:59I'm out.
39:02Due to his role as Kramer on Seinfeld, Michael Richards was awarded the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Character in
39:08a Comedy Series on three occasions.
39:10Here's to feeling good all the time.
39:13Once the sitcom ended, he dabbled in TV a little while longer before focusing on his stand-up routine.
39:18In 2006, he was at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, California, where it all came crumbling down.
39:23Richards was recorded going on a vile, slur-filled rant at Heckler's.
39:27Afterward, he appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman to apologize.
39:30I'm really busted up over this, and I'm very, very sorry to those people in the audience, the blacks, the
39:39Hispanics, the whites, everyone that was there that took the brunt of that anger and hate and rage.
39:46Suffice to say, this was not really the sort of apology people were looking for.
39:50Richards retired from stand-up and has rarely appeared in film and TV since.
39:53But no, no, I, I, I, I, uh, uh, uh, uh, I busted up after that event seven years ago.
40:01It broke me down.
40:02Ezra Miller.
40:03I just need one more gig and I'm going to pay for my own tuition.
40:06You can't.
40:06Like I always said I would.
40:08You cannot keep doing this to yourself.
40:09Okay, I really don't want to talk about this again.
40:11There probably isn't an actor who has had as many legal run-ins in such a short amount of time
40:15as Ezra Miller.
40:16After being cast in the Fantastic Beasts series and as The Flash in the DCEU, they became a household name.
40:25Oh my god!
40:26Flash!
40:28Hi.
40:29I love you!
40:30You seem very nice also.
40:32Oh my god!
40:33Then 2020 rolled around and a video surfaced of Miller attacking a woman at a bar in Iceland.
40:37This was unfortunately only the beginning.
40:39I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior.
40:44I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe, and productive stage in my
40:50life.
40:50They have been accused of harassing people, theft, assault, and grooming, among some other odd and heinous behavior.
40:56In January of 2023, Miller pleaded guilty to misdemeanor on lawful trespass.
41:01Roseanne Barr
41:02As the lead of Roseanne, actor and comedian Roseanne Barr played a vital role in turning the show's first run
41:07into a critical success, securing many awards along the way.
41:10What happened?
41:11I thought you were dead.
41:13I'm sleeping.
41:16Why does everybody else think I'm dead?
41:18In 2018, the show was revived after 20 years.
41:21However, not long after, Barr messed up massively.
41:24Why'd you find out about me?
41:26After several of her controversial comments came to light, Barr made a racist tweet about former political advisor Valerie Jarrett.
41:32While Barr apologized and tried to backtrack, it was too late.
41:34ABC pulled the plug on the show, saying Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant, and inconsistent with our values, and
41:42we've decided to cancel her show.
41:44Roseanne was canceled and replaced by the Connors, without Barr.
41:47I know Roseanne would want me to step in and watch over the family.
41:50No, it'd kill her.
41:53She has, despite all this, continued airing unpleasant thoughts and conspiracies, even doing controversial comedy routines.
41:59I try to be even more offensive.
42:02Danny Masterson
42:04Before 2017, if you were to ask fans who their favorite character on That 70s Show was, many would immediately
42:09say hi.
42:10And you missed your shift at the photo hub.
42:12You better have a damn good excuse.
42:15I got busted.
42:17Nowadays, it's less so after what his actor did came to light.
42:20In 2017, several women filed sexual assault charges against the actor, who denied the accusations.
42:25One of them called the actor, quote, pathetic, disturbed, and completely violent, unquote.
42:30After a fourth allegation, however, Netflix fired Masterson, who was a producer and actor, on The Ranch.
42:36He was also dropped by his talent agency.
42:38In 2023, at the retrial, he was found guilty on two of the three charges, with the remaining count resulting
42:43in a hung jury.
42:44Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for his horrific crimes.
42:48You don't want a hug, do you?
42:50Ha, ha.
42:51God, no.
42:52Good.

43:09Bill Cosby.
43:11Under control.
43:12So, no problem.
43:15Right.
43:16How do you expect to get into college with grades like this?
43:19No problem.
43:20Huh?
43:20See, I'm not going to college.
43:23Damn right.
43:23With the title of America's dad, Bill Cosby was the biggest name in TV history, mostly known for his work
43:28on The Cosby Show.
43:29However, there were rumors that the actor was responsible for a host of grim crime.
43:33Yet, there was little traction to them.
43:34Hello, my dear.
43:38Mmm.
43:40Right.
43:41But that all changed in 2015 when more and more victims began to come forward and the media ran their
43:46stories.
43:46I never saw any drugs, but I would wake up completely confused.
43:53In 2018, after over a decade of accusations, Cosby was charged with three counts of assault and sentenced to three
43:59to ten years in jail.
44:00However, in 2021, Cosby's conviction was overturned after it was discovered that his due process rights had been violated.
44:06Regardless, this hasn't repaired Cosby's image, especially as he's faced civil cases for assault since.
