00:00This guy, for a tip, he gave me a bottle.
00:04Welcome to Miss Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most notable times Fred Armisen got somebody
00:11else in an SNL scene to laugh.
00:13Get out of here, get out of here!
00:20Number 10, Royal Family Doctor.
00:23Hey, now, Mr. Steve, forgive me. I did not know you would be in the hospital this morning.
00:27I'm here to get my Judy Dents washed.
00:30Any time that Fred Armisen bursts out his British accent, he means business.
00:35The comedian joins this royal-themed sketch late as he becomes Queen Elizabeth.
00:41That's a blow.
00:42Right here, child.
00:43All right, here we go.
00:50Up to that point, audiences have been treated to Martin Short's wild assistant.
00:54Hopping on the exam chair, the cast member enters a compromising position that leaves his co-stars stunned.
01:01The audience laughs as Bill Hader struggles to hold back his reaction.
01:05Thankfully for Hader, the sketch doesn't go on for much longer.
01:09Both Armisen and Short end up breaking their scene partner.
01:12With so many English voices going around, you can see how much everyone enjoys themselves.
01:23What are you waiting for? Get in there, will ya?
01:28Number 9, Expedition.
01:30Awesome.
01:31Great looking, Clark.
01:32Hey, we are three of the actors from the show Louis Ampersand Clark.
01:36That's right, I'm playing Louis.
01:38My name is David Paul.
01:39I relate to Louis on so many levels.
01:41Oh, God, where do I start?
01:42We're both athletic outdoorsmen.
01:44You know the type.
01:45If you saw me in long shorts and a tank top, you'd see exactly what I'm talking about.
01:48Right, lady?
01:48This might be among the more unexpected history lessons of all time.
01:53Playing determined actors, a trio of comedy performers join a class to portray the Louis
01:58and Clark Expedition.
02:00Fred Armisen and Kyle Mooney are the men in question, with Cecily Strong as Sacagawea.
02:05The trio look ready to break at various points, as they smile through dances and odd acting choices.
02:11This is driving me mad.
02:13I know.
02:13The cold is colder than any cold I've known before.
02:17Not that.
02:18My manly urges.
02:20By the end, Armisen has Mooney on a desk during a key moment.
02:24Strong chuckles to herself as the other comedians try to maintain their composure.
02:29We can't blame any of them, considering the material.
02:32No!
02:34Pretend it me!
02:35Listen to her.
02:37She has ancient wisdom.
02:38It's true!
02:41Number 8.
02:42New Girlfriend
02:44I'm very, very sorry we were late, but here she is.
02:47Isn't she great?
02:50Thanks for having us.
02:51I'm Regine.
02:53Well, come sit down, Regine.
02:55We've heard so much about you.
02:57One of Fred Armisen's best characters is a menace at dinner parties.
03:01Regine always comes with a new suitor, leaving the host shaken by her unfiltered comments.
03:08Armisen pairs up with Jason Sudeikis to cause chaos in this sketch.
03:11The unruly character allows the lead performer to stretch his legs, invading the personal space of his co-stars.
03:19Watch what happens when I tickle her behind her knee.
03:21Here, give me that.
03:22Come here.
03:23Come here, you.
03:24Uh-huh.
03:25Uh-huh.
03:26Uh-huh.
03:27Uh-huh.
03:27Uh-huh.
03:28Yeah.
03:29Yeah.
03:30Yeah.
03:30Yeah.
03:32Oh, yeah, she's okay.
03:34The food and set dressing seem to go everywhere.
03:37Aidy Bryant and Vanessa Bayer are among the casualties here, breaking during their scene partner's physical performance.
03:43It's even funnier when the cast members lean into the absurdity of it all.
03:48You were like a hot Mona Lisa if she was drawn or painted with her mouth wide open instead of
03:53that stupid little smirk that we all as human beings hate, right?
03:56To Regine!
03:57To Regine!
03:58There you go.
03:59Okay, is there any more food?
04:02I need to get something down my throat to fight what is coming up.
04:06Yeah, you're good.
04:09Number seven, cut for time, coat check.
04:11And for the gentleman.
04:16There you go.
04:18Thank you very much.
04:19Wait a minute.
04:21What the hell have you put on me?
04:23Is this a woman's yellow fur coat?
04:26Um, that's what was on your hanger.
04:28Did you really see this and think it was mine?
04:30I mean, I'm a pilot, man.
04:33Like many underrated SNL scenes, they can start simple and gradually unravel into something special.
04:39This cut for time skit follows the misadventures of two people on a date.
04:44Fred Armisen's character goes to get his coat, but a series of misunderstandings complicate matters.
04:50This leads to the actor trying on several coats and Cecily Strong reacting to it all.
04:55Are you prepared to stand by your statement that this is my coat?
04:59It looks like a woman's fur shrub.
05:02Oh, great.
05:03My date just told me I'm wearing women's clothes.
05:06What the hell?
05:06By the time Armisen puts on a fur and mask combo, Strong starts to giggle at the sight of her
05:12co-star.
05:12The duo have an energy that seems to build until it bursts.
05:16With so many elaborate wardrobe changes, this silly idea reaches its conclusion with flying colors.
05:22What do you think?
05:24I think I'm looking at my future husband's beautiful coat.
05:29Future husband, huh?
05:31Wow.
05:33Okay.
05:35Now let's go start our lives.
05:48At the start of this sketch, Bill Hader's doctor establishes that all of his memory loss patients can remember their
05:55lines.
05:56This naturally doesn't happen as all of them struggle through a play.
06:00Fred Armisen's character then enters, throwing off the scene in even funnier ways.
06:05Take off the jacket.
06:07The jacket.
06:08Lose the jacket.
06:08I'm sorry.
06:09Put the jacket off.
06:14Put it anywhere.
06:15Put it anywhere.
06:15Just drop it.
06:16Just give it.
06:17Give me the jacket.
06:18Give me the jacket.
06:18Sorry.
06:20His huge jacket and movements seem to throw off Hader.
06:23Not long after that, Armisen makes his fellow cast member break under the pressure.
06:28It's the perfect case of a comedian knowing how to push someone else's buttons.
06:32In the midst of a funny sketch, Armisen still finds a way to subvert expectations with his comedic sabotage.
06:39Okay.
06:41I'm here.
06:42Now what do I do?
06:46Look at him angrily and say, what are you just gonna walk in here?
06:54What are you just gonna walk in here?
06:56You're supposed to be just Teddy.
06:58Number 5.
06:59Kissing Family
07:00Breckin Brings His Boyfriend Home
07:03What are you lifting weights?
07:05What are you doing to you, huh?
07:06Huh?
07:06So proud of you.
07:07So proud of you.
07:08So proud of you.
07:10I love you.
07:10I love you.
07:11Any time you see Vogelcheck family in a sketch, you know they'll be more than eager to show
07:16their affection.
07:17This particular version includes a reunion of sorts with an awesome ensemble of former,
07:23then current, and guest performers.
07:25Fred Armisen plays the dad, eager to make a speech for the new guest.
07:29He accidentally hits Bill Hader during his monologue.
07:32With Hader reacting, Armisen can barely finish his dialogue.
07:36This leads to some breaking from the both of them.
07:53With all of the kissing, you'd expect more of them to laugh even sooner.
07:57The two once again turn our crazy scene into something even better.
08:18No matter the season or the holiday, this singing duo are unprepared for the occasion.
08:25Fred Armisen and Kristen Wiig found a way to entertain themselves live on camera.
08:29With Armisen usually starting the song off, Wiig has to try and carry on without breaking.
08:35We couldn't be happier to know that it almost always fails.
08:38Let's play some volleyball on your bitch.
08:44But don't call the police.
08:46Let's call the girl at us and kick us off the beach.
08:51But man, there's a couple of people out there.
08:56They better get off out of our beach.
09:01Both performers inevitably crumble, chuckling as their improvised tracks fly off the handle.
09:07Seth Meyers is left to watch as co-stars banter and chuckle throughout their update appearances.
09:12In a rare concept for such a script heavy show, this is one of the best SNL ideas based around
09:18improvisation.
09:18Don't forget that there's always a time to look up in the mountains.
09:26The mountains.
09:28The mountains.
09:30The mountains.
09:31The mountains.
09:32The mountains.
09:33The mountains.
09:34The mountains.
09:34The mountains of the night of July.
09:37But instead of December.
09:39Good job, you guys.
09:41Can we get an update on Sunday night?
09:43Number three.
09:45Update Amy's Goodbye.
09:47You want someone with some knowledge of the economy who is a little off and is completely
09:51unprepared to be senator.
09:52Do you have anyone in mind?
09:53Yes, me.
09:56When Fred Armisen took on the role of New York Governor David Patterson, he went all out
10:01in a comical impression.
10:03The recurring bit made Weekend Update even more enjoyable.
10:06As Amy Poehler prepared to leave the show, she said a few words before the character stepped
10:12in front of the camera.
10:13140 shows with my friends and my family has been a dream come true.
10:18And from the bottom of my heart, I really...
10:26Armisen knew how to make Poehler laugh during a sentimental send-off.
10:30Patterson allows him to walk everywhere, interrupt the flow of segments, and needle his co-stars.
10:37It's a dream role that clearly makes other cast members happy.
10:40Even when he's interrupting another person's goodbye, Armisen knows how to draw out a reaction.
10:46There you go, just stop right there.
10:50That's good.
10:51That's good.
10:51Great.
10:52No, just move.
10:52There we go.
10:52I'm sorry?
10:53You're good where you are.
10:552.
10:56The Californians.
10:57Stewart has cancer.
10:59I brought us some tangerines.
11:00This guy was selling them on the off-ramp over by the two.
11:05Devon?
11:09What are you doing here?
11:11Every episode of The Californians is a wild ride of melodrama.
11:16Parodying soap operas, these sketches teeter between deadly serious and incredibly dumb.
11:22We love the precarious mix between styles, and especially so in this case.
11:26Fred Armisen's character adds some extra emphasis to his delivery, sending Bill Hader into a tailspin.
11:33Stewart, why are you him so early?
11:36I skipped Wilshire and took Beverly over to Santa Monica and took that all the way up.
11:41I just came over to fix the speakers, the outside speakers on the patio.
11:46I think they sound pretty good.
11:48The two friends once again find themselves competing in a laugh-off.
11:52There's also Kristen Wiig caught in the comedic crossfire.
11:55With so much talent in one scene, the only thing left to do is break.
12:00Hader looks desperate as he tries to stifle his laughter and make outlandish faces.
12:10Stewart!
12:12At this time of day, it's going to be jammed!
12:15Are you cross-eyed?
12:16Just get out of the chin and get out of here!
12:25Number 1.
12:26Cut for time.
12:28Rinaldo and Alexi.
12:29When will the garbage truck come?
12:32Today.
12:33Good.
12:33There's a lot of garbage.
12:35You know these new guys driving the garbage truck?
12:38He?
12:39He's a stupid idiot.
12:41I know, I know.
12:42Beep, beep, beep.
12:43Idiot words.
12:45Here comes the stupid.
12:46Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
12:47Sometimes two friends just like to make each other lose it.
12:51This is exactly what this cut for time sketch seems like, with both performers doing goofy voices throughout.
12:58Their accents almost create a chain reaction with such a ridiculous script.
13:03Getting things going, Fred Armisen starts the breaking as he tells a kid some Christmas stories.
13:08Could you get us a cap?
13:10I'll get it, but first listen to this story about Santa Claus.
13:14What?
13:15It's going to blow your mind.
13:17Okay, so, Santa Claus.
13:18He says, I'm going to put Rodolfo in the...
13:24In the front.
13:25Not in the back.
13:29In the light.
13:31Armisen and Bill Hader can't keep it together throughout most of this sketch.
13:35Their doormen try to spin yarns and talk to guests, but they're both interrupted by laughter.
13:41Things only get crazier as Jamie Foxx comes by and tries to hold in his reaction.
13:46You see, some snowmen are made of two balls.
13:50Yeah.
13:51And then this one is made of three balls.
13:53Frosty, three balls.
13:56Did we forget another highlight from Fred's run on SNL?
14:00Let us know in the comments below.
14:05Sneeze.
14:05We said, down over the top of a set.
14:06We've got one with two balls.
14:06We can't look at the deep hole.
14:07We've got some doll, which is the top right here.
