Which Detroit Tiger do you believe to be the most clutch?
Transcript
00:02clutch hit riley green and cole keith drives uh him home and the tigers win their sixth in a row
00:09they sweep the homestand begin a four-game series with the boston red sox uh tonight in fenway and
00:16that means they play monday morning for patriots day right marathon it's a great day in boston
00:23anybody can give uh riley green any credit for that yesterday man he gets a lot of hate oh i
00:29remember that moment and the fact he did it on a 3-2 pitch yeah it makes it even more
00:34impressive
00:34numbers are slightly uh improving i'm excited about this team i i personally think this is a
00:40big weekend just to see kind of where they're at and stuff because fenway can be a little crazy
00:45sometimes historically for them right yeah but they are the indicators are there that this team's ready
00:51to take off because um mcgonagall dingler keith getting great production from them and it was
00:58just about the other guys kind of coming along and they slowly are like green is the first one
01:05that's starting to really improve his numbers they're all playing they're all you know starting
01:13to hit the ball a little bit which is they are and and it follows what i was just talking
01:17about in that
01:17last segment in regards to the messages we were getting yesterday about riley green and somebody
01:22had said if if if the game is in hand sure yeah i would love to see riley green at
01:29bat but if it's
01:30a gotta have it moment he wasn't the guy that they wanted to see there and he came through in
01:36the most
01:36clutch of moments i try to put it simpler terms and kind of what i was trying to say they're
01:41trending
01:42to me towards if you trust torque greens and uh carpenter's careers kind of 775 to 800 ops's torque
01:52maybe a little lower but if you're getting keith mcgonagall and dingler to do the same or better
01:58and then you have torres too by the way right the lineup's pretty deep it looks like it's emerging
02:04it's just very slow oh yeah and then it's kind of what you know we i was here last friday
02:10and
02:10everybody was freaked out because of the minnesota thing and it's like all right small sample size
02:16tons of teams have gotten off to slow starts we'll see what happens and they go and you know sweep
02:23sweep the teams i mean it was great well it's in the marlins and then the uh the royals yeah
02:30the
02:31marlins um and the marlins one felt better because the first one was a 2-0 win but then they
02:38scored
02:38six runs and they scored eight runs and it was kind of like it was a little similar to this
02:43series
02:43right 2-1-2-1 you're like okay well they're not the bats aren't fired up but then all of
02:48a sudden hey
02:48they score 10 runs and the dramatics of the bottom of the ninth um to sweep you know a division
02:55opponent kansas city who and i'll ask you this question because i've talked about it with jim quite a
02:59bit i think kansas city is the biggest threat in the division i'll never count out cleveland they
03:06figure out a way all the time i know but yeah on paper although kansas city struggling to score
03:13runs not only that their bullpen is atrocious i mean that's a big thing but we're not doing kansas
03:20city radio here here's the uh some ticket uh some texts uh great win from the tigers yesterday but
03:26can the drew anderson experiment be over the dude was in korea for a reason he's not a major league
03:31baseball pitcher and and he's this outing just proves it even more patrick and grand rapids
03:35that's one of the guys that's got to say the bullpen has you know parts of it has not been
03:41real good
03:41i mean holton gave up the home run yesterday and yeah herder has not pitched great you know
03:47obviously kenley's been really good obviously but he did have that one implosion so the bullpen has
03:52been an issue um gotta be carp as far as mr clutch who he wants with that big bat that's
03:59from johnny
04:00and wixom over time yeah but right now he is i wouldn't say he's looking for something but he's
04:06basically looking for to strike some magic he's swinging at some bad pitches yeah he'll get his act
04:11together kevin mcgonigal is the first tiger since prime miggy that i can remember being must see
04:17every at bat there's just a different feeling when he comes up i can't remember if it was you or
04:22i talked
04:23about it last week or it may have been earlier in the season when kevin mcgonigal is up to the
04:29plate
04:29or if he is coming up in the in the next inning i do i stop what i'm doing and
04:35i want to make sure
04:36that i watch his at bat yeah because they're just all exciting they're that what was i mean we really
04:42haven't seen professional at bats like that no since prime miggy or you go back to you know when
04:49victor martinez was in his best right and we're talking over a decade now right all right real quick
04:56deval what's up you're a 97 one hey good morning fellas john go blue go blue all right so the
05:04clutch
05:04my clutch play is obviously mcgonigal but i mean no one's talking about again javier bases early in the
05:11year he got a flair for the dramatic right now he's 295 with a home run and he loves these
05:18kind of
05:18and this win of kansas city reminded me of that win last year over boston where we it was the
05:25same
05:25situation deval he's been really good on both sides of the ball i mean he's making some good
05:30plays heads up the slide to me the other day yeah all right it's time for news and here's heather
