00:00was it like for you to be on the set
00:02and see The Mummy for the first time?
00:06That's funny.
00:06We just talked about that.
00:08We actually saw Natalie for the first time on set
00:13as The Mummy, the whole crew together.
00:16Like some people, no, I mean the crew members,
00:18they were not able to watch her before that.
00:22Even on the wrap party,
00:24some of them were not able to watch her.
00:27They were like, who's that girl?
00:28And they've spent like four months shooting with her.
00:31So imagine the first impression of watching her
00:34as The Mummy all together.
00:36Like I was crying, Veronica was almost crying.
00:39Everyone started clapping.
00:40It was beautiful.
00:43It was beautiful because he didn't let us see her.
00:46He wanted to introduce our mummy.
00:48And I think that was brilliant in so many levels,
00:50not only because we were all very emotional
00:52and very proud of the work that went into
00:56turning her into The Mummy.
00:57and of course of her.
00:59But I think it also created a sense of protection for her.
01:03You know, the moment she walked in,
01:05we all equally felt this is our mummy.
01:09We are going to protect her.
01:11Because we all knew her work was so demanding,
01:15more so than anybody else's, I believe.
01:18And by doing that, he did two things, I think.
01:22And that's when I'm telling you,
01:23Lee's a brilliant director.
01:25On one hand, he got us together as a crew, as a cast,
01:28because we were all living this communal experience
01:31of seeing our main character for the first time transformed.
01:34And on the other hand,
01:36we all felt very protected towards her.
01:38And that's how we started.
01:40And it went better and better and better from then on,
01:42you know, brilliant, brilliant, brilliant thing she did.
01:46He did.
01:47Yeah.
01:47And I think that's at the core of the film anyway.
01:50I mean, it's a scary film,
01:51but family feels like it's the core of the film.
01:53I don't want to sound too fast and furious,
01:55but I mean, it is a little bit at the core of it.
01:59You know, and for me growing up,
02:02I'm 40 something.
02:03The Mummy for me,
02:04I mean, there's a hundred years of Mummy movies,
02:07but for me,
02:08it was Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, of course.
02:11And I think you might be in between the movies.
02:15What for you was the Mummy movie
02:17that spoke to you the most?
02:20We knew from the beginning,
02:22this is like a new,
02:23like something very new.
02:25Lee has reimagined.
02:26We knew it was like an original script of Lee.
02:29That's why it's called Lee Chronings the Mummy.
02:32and that we were like, you know,
02:34creating something not from scratch,
02:36but kind of, you know,
02:37this is like a very different,
02:38also it's a horror movie,
02:40like horror fans will go through the whole,
02:43like, you know,
02:44horror language in filmmaking.
02:46And I think this is very interesting as well,
02:48like to have,
02:50for me very much,
02:51it's like Lee's world,
02:53all this imagination he has,
02:55and then he has brought this Mummy movie.
02:59And I think it's very interesting
03:01because you get a lot of different elements
03:03from the movie making.
03:08And I think that's what keeps it very entertaining.
03:10And you engage with it.
03:12Like, as you said,
03:13it's two hours and something,
03:14the movie,
03:15and you go through it like in a roller coaster,
03:17five minutes,
03:18and it stays with you for some days.
03:20And I think that's very interesting.
03:21I think he's kind of a genius
03:23to be able to do something.
03:24I mean, I agree.
03:26And I, you know,
03:27like the first Mummy movie I've ever saw
03:30was the Boris Karloff version, 1932.
03:33And of course,
03:35I'm a fan of film,
03:36and I'm a fan of a good film.
03:40I don't know much of,
03:41I mean,
03:41I didn't know much about horror.
03:43I've been learning.
03:44But that was my favorite.
03:45Now,
03:45Brendan Fraser's version
03:47and Tom Cruise versions,
03:48they're more like an adventure oriental.
03:50And there's been like 30 movies,
03:52I believe,
03:52of The Mummy and series and things.
03:55But this is a completely different take.
03:58You know,
03:58this is the,
03:58that's why it's Lee Cronin's The Mummy,
04:01because it's his brain,
04:02his creativity
04:03that turned into a new view of this monster.
04:08So it's,
04:09I don't think,
04:10honestly,
04:11there's ever been a Mummy movie
04:13quite like this before.
04:15And I'm very proud to be part of it.
04:17I'm very proud of what we all did in this.
04:20and I hope the audience enjoys it
04:22and gets scared as much as they should with this movie.
