00:00Hi, Mason. Hi, Madeline. Hi, Ashley.
00:03Congratulations on the return of Gwen, Finn, and The Grabber, I guess.
00:07Yes, thank you.
00:08Thank you, thank you.
00:10What was the first thing that came to mind when you read the script about The Return?
00:16It was a lot colder.
00:18Shocking.
00:19Yeah, a lot scarier.
00:21And, yeah, I mean, if you thought The Grabber was creepy and scary in the first movie,
00:25then I think you'll really enjoy or hate what he is now.
00:28So, yeah.
00:30Yeah, it was very interesting to see how Scott and Cargill came up with such an iconic idea for a sequel.
00:38So I was very invested while reading the script to see how they did it.
00:42I think it's so beautifully done.
00:43Ice skates.
00:44Ice skates.
00:45Ice skates.
00:45Iconic.
00:47No, definitely.
00:48And I love the whole style of the dream sequences and the real world, if you will.
00:54But in a way, it almost felt like a tribute to standing up to bullies.
01:01Won't you agree?
01:02I think that is 1,000% a very valid thing to point out.
01:06I feel like we had attributions to that in the first movie as well.
01:11I feel like, at the end of the day, it's not just a movie about, like, you know, this villain, this serial killer who's kidnapping kids.
01:18It's about the true heart of the film, I think.
01:20It's about people.
01:21It's about people.
01:22And just their relationships.
01:23And Finny and Glenn's relationship in the movie.
01:25And, you know, using your voice and not being afraid to speak up and say what's right.
01:29Yeah, definitely.
01:32And what is it about playing in horror films that a person in the cinema might not realize?
01:38I mean, going into it, you'd think it would be absolutely terrifying.
01:42But truly, it's so much fun.
01:44Especially when you have a group like Scott and Cargill and Ethan and our just really fun cast.
01:51We really have a good time because we all just want to make a good movie and have audiences sit down and just be immersed in that world.
01:58And including for this, a sequel to, you know, these beloved characters and just bring them back.
02:04And it's been a long time since we've last seen them.
02:06So just kind of, you know, seeing where they're at and seeing what's happened.
02:10And, yeah.
02:11Yeah, I think the best thing you can do is just keep things light on set.
02:14Especially dealing with, like, dark topics like this.
02:17Yeah, yeah.
02:18Yeah, I can totally imagine that.
02:20And when growing up, were you a fan of horror?
02:24Was horror something that you enjoyed watching?
02:26Hell yeah.
02:27Movies?
02:28I mean, I feel like for me, I was definitely more hesitant to watch horror films.
02:33Mainly because my parents wouldn't let me.
02:35So I'd have to, like, sneak watching them on airplanes and stuff.
02:38But then the more and more my parents actually let me watch them, I've become such a big horror fan.
02:43I now watch horror movies at 1 a.m. just to purposely scare me.
02:47So, yeah.
02:47That's where I'm at now.
02:48Mine's, like, the complete opposite.
02:49I was, like, six years old.
02:51I was being way too loud as a kid.
02:52My mom wanted to shut us up.
02:53So she just set us in front of Friday the 13th.
02:56And it worked.
02:57We were quiet for weeks.
02:59Wow.
02:59But after that, it just kind of, it really, really scared me.
03:06And then I watched the insidious movies, which I hate.
03:10I hate the insidious movies so much.
03:13There's one, like, red demon thing they have in those movies, which absolutely just kills me every single time.
03:18But there's just something about horror movies that it truly can unsettle the hell out of you.
03:23And it's so special.
03:26And if you can capture that more than just once in a movie, it's magical.
03:31So, yeah.
03:32Love them.
03:33Yeah.
03:33It sort of unlocks something primal, you know?
03:36Yeah.
03:36For sure.
03:37For sure.
03:37Emotion.
03:38Yeah.
03:381,000%.
03:39What I always love about horror movies.
03:42And last question, because Halloween is up and coming in Europe.
03:46And I guess you guys are completely grown up with it.
03:50It's quite a Halloween night in America for me.
03:54Hella candy.
03:55A lot of candy.
03:57A lot of costumes.
03:57A lot of walking around.
03:59Pumpkins.
04:00Yep.
04:00Carving pumpkins.
04:01Watching horror movies.
04:02Watching horror movies.
04:03You know?
04:04And just, what I love so much about Halloween is it really just brings everybody together.
04:08Like, you can go as, you know, your own costume and do something really cool.
04:13Or you can pair up with buddies and do something for movies or horror movies or just things you love.
04:17And it's just a lot of fun.
04:19It's a great chance to be creative.
04:20Also, my favorite holiday.
04:22Really?
04:23Yeah.
04:23I love Halloween.
04:24That's interesting.
04:24I love Halloween.
04:25Yeah.
04:26But it's also a nice lesson, you know?
04:28It's like dealing with death, if you will, for kids.
04:31I think that's a great way to look at it.
04:33Yeah.
04:33For sure.
04:34Yeah.
04:34It's a darker way to look at it.
04:35Yeah.
04:36Yeah, definitely.
