00:00Hello, guys. How's it going?
00:02How's it going?
00:03Very well. Thanks so much for your time today.
00:05Yeah, thank you.
00:07Sure. And Chase, I'm going to start with you.
00:10The characters are trying to get away with something instead of facing the consequences.
00:16Some feel guilty about it, some more, some less.
00:19And I was wondering, when it comes down to real life,
00:22do you remember a decision you've made that kind of made you feel guilty or bad afterward
00:28because it didn't feel right? Because it happened to me when I was a teenager.
00:31You know, I stole something and I felt very bad about it afterward.
00:35Yes. When I was six years old, I wanted a mermaid children's book
00:42that had a ton of tattoos of mermaids in it.
00:44And my mom refused at Borders Bookstore.
00:49And so I took the sleeve of tattoos and I put them in my stomach.
00:53It was a hot summer day. And I got caught because the entire sleeve of tattoos was pasted on my stomach.
00:59And then my mom made me go back to Borders and show them.
01:02And made me announce over the loudspeaker, I'm so sorry for what I did.
01:09And it was so scarring. I never stole a single item again.
01:14Wow.
01:15Yeah.
01:16But the feelings of, I kind of pulled from that for this character.
01:20Yeah, yeah, right, right.
01:22Thank you so much for sharing. Thank you so much.
01:26Sorry, Borders.
01:27Yeah, I feel so much better.
01:28It's traumatic.
01:29Yeah.
01:30And Jonah, for you, what would you say what your personal relationship is with facing consequences?
01:37Because I feel like, you know, when we are teenagers, we kind of try to avoid consequences, just like the characters in the film, even though they're adults.
01:46And then as we get older, we kind of develop a better sense in terms of the importance of facing consequences.
01:52So I was wondering how it's been for you so far in terms of that.
01:55Yeah, I mean...
01:57Sorry, that was fascinating. I'm on the edge of my seat.
02:01I mean, yeah, I think that is like, without sounding cliche, that is a time in everyone's life where they realize their actions do have significant consequences.
02:12You steal a bunch of tattoos, they can end up on your stomach.
02:15Those are seminal moments in your life.
02:18They're formative.
02:19The first time I stole something, I didn't get caught. First time? Only time.
02:24Only time.
02:26He's a klepto.
02:28The only time.
02:30I was in, and this is terrible because it was within our industry in a way, I stole like two or five sweets from the, what do you guys call them?
02:41Lollies? Candies?
02:42Candy machine?
02:43From like the cinema.
02:44That's so horrible.
02:45Okay, it was Odeon, so I wouldn't say they're like a tiny independent situation.
02:48That is terrible.
02:49It was fine.
02:51They'll recover.
02:52But I took like three sour cola bottles and I felt pretty, pretty shitty.
03:00It felt great.
03:01Now it feels good.
03:02No, I felt bad.
03:03I felt really bad.
03:04And actually it was worse that I didn't get caught because it felt like there weren't repercussions in that moment.
03:08And I think having the consequences is important because your actions and the things you say and the things that you do have meaning and impact people.
03:17It didn't impact the cooperation of Odeon on that occasion.
03:20That we know of.
03:21Yes.
03:22That we know of.
03:23But yeah, I mean, that's, that's like a lesson in growing up, isn't it? That you're, that you have the power to do things that you can.
03:29Yeah.
03:30So.
03:31Well, you stole something else.
03:32Your heart?
03:33Yep.
03:35Aww.
03:37Yeah.
03:38And Sarah, there's something that, that Neil H. Moritz, the producer of the movie said, is that like it's, you know, the movies are about teenagers and young adults who make a big decision that is going to have like a huge impact on their adulthood.
03:52Um, even without the killer.
03:54Um, so, um, I was wondering, um, when it comes down to a positive example, do you remember, you know, like a big decision you've made as a teenager that had a huge impact on you as a, as a, as an adult artist?
04:08Yeah, I think, I think the biggest decision I made as a young person was where I went to college.
04:14I think, you know, there's the butterfly effect is very, um, prevalent on my social media right now.
04:20But this idea that all these changes, all these decisions can, you know, introduce me to my friends that I, um, some of whom I lived with after college and the people that I was introduced to, um, the things I learned about.
04:32You know, the, the, I went to school in Pittsburgh, meaning that I was there for four years and that impacted me in ways that I'm sure I, you know, in many ways that I don't even know.
04:42Um, but I think I, I remember being struggling with that decision because it is, um, you know, it has so much to do with your identity and the person that you're about to become, the person that you don't know, the person that you'll, uh, learn about over four years.
04:54Um, financially it's a huge decision, um, and I remember feeling quite, uh, paralyzed by making it because it was mine and mine to make.
05:06Thankfully, my parents let me make that on my own, um, but yeah, I think that's probably my biggest decision.
05:13That and, like, deciding whether or not to steal from the movies.
05:17Did you do that too?
05:18I didn't steal from the, I didn't, I haven't stolen.
05:22So you're a liar as well?
05:23Anything.
05:24She's an angel.
05:25You're a liar?
05:26Is he lying to him?
05:28Why are you lying to him?
05:31Kyrie, do you want anything to say?
05:32Thanks, Carmen.
05:34Thank you so much.
05:35Those are great questions.
05:35Guys, seriously, my time is up.
05:36Thank you so much.
05:37Great questions.
05:39And, uh, see you soon.
05:40Thank you so much.
05:41Bye.
05:41Bye.
05:42Bye.
