00:00Coming to us now, fresh off of a talking segment that ended in absolute pandemonium, Rhea, Bloody, Ripley, days removed
00:16from war games.
00:18What goes on in your head as you get yourself ready for what is the most physical, brutal, for lack
00:31of a better term, match that there is in WWE?
00:36Just mental preparation for it all.
00:40Obviously, like you just said, it is one of the most brutal matches that you could have here in the
00:44WWE.
00:46So I just need to mentally prepare and mentally get my team prepared as well.
00:51Because, look, we have myself, we have EO, we have Alexa, we have Charlotte, and we've all been inside of
00:59a war games before.
01:00But then we have AJ Lee.
01:02She's just come back and I just need to make sure that she's fully prepared for what is going to
01:07happen and what she's stepping into.
01:11It's a dangerous match, and we just need to make sure that not only our body is prepared, but our
01:15mind is prepared as well.
01:17This match is, like, so crazy star-studded.
01:21And, you know, evidence of that was in the ring tonight.
01:25Tonight, when you look in that ring, and you have, I mean, two generations, if not three, worth of female
01:35talent and the best maybe that the industry has seen.
01:40And you grab the mic, and you don't say a word.
01:45But the second you have that microphone in your hand, the crowd goes absolutely nuts.
01:51In that moment, do you look around, realize who you're in there with, and then realize you're the one that
02:00people want to hear from?
02:02Oh, it's wild to think of it like that, to be completely honest.
02:07And, like, yeah, I did look around, but now that you say that, it is clicking a little bit more,
02:14because they did erupt when I did grab the microphone.
02:16But at the same time, I don't know if they're erupting because I'm about to speak, or they know that
02:21I'm just unpredictable and anything could happen.
02:24The crowd seems smarter than the team that we were in there with, actually, because they were ready for anything.
02:29And Nia Jax definitely wasn't ready for a microphone to the face, so.
02:34No, but who is?
02:36Rhea, you were just talking about how you have to make sure that AJ Lee is ready for WarGames, because
02:44she's never been in a WarGames match before.
02:47We saw you last week on Raw asking AJ for a minute to talk to her.
02:53What made you want to go after AJ Lee for your WarGames team?
03:00Growing up, I watched AJ Lee.
03:02I loved watching AJ Lee.
03:04She was one of my favorites, for sure.
03:06I thought she was amazing at what she did, especially for the size that she is.
03:12She's scrappy.
03:13She doesn't give up.
03:15And I like that fire inside of her that I know she has.
03:20And seeing her come back and tag with her husband, CM Punk, against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, I could
03:27see that fire was still there.
03:29So I knew that we needed a fifth member.
03:31I know that I need someone that can hang in this kind of match.
03:37And everything that I've seen her accomplish throughout her run in the WWE before when I was growing up, she
03:44accomplished so much.
03:46And she really wasn't set up to accomplish that much.
03:49But she fought and she scratched and she clawed and she was determined.
03:52And she got to the point that she got to.
03:54And that's what I want to see.
03:57And I know that it's there.
03:58And that's why I want her on my team.
04:01I want that scrappy.
04:03I want that fight.
04:04I want people to second-guess her because of her size and then realize that she is a lot tougher
04:11than what they think she is.
04:14She's unpredictable.
04:15And I love that.
04:17What is the atmosphere like with all of you?
04:21What is the feeling?
04:22Because I'm sure that at this point in your career, you feel like you are the number one person in
04:28the WWE women's division.
04:30I'm also pretty sure that that's how Charlotte feels.
04:33I'm also pretty sure that AJ Lee did not come back to not be the number one woman in the
04:37women's division and so on and so on.
04:39And every time I turn on the internet, somebody's talking about how EO is the best women's wrestler on the
04:45planet, period.
04:47How does that competition that has to exist amongst you guys kind of show itself when you get ready for
04:54a match like this?
04:56I think everyone in this women's division thinks that they are the best at what they do, like you just
05:00said.
05:01And it's not only just my team.
05:03It's our opposing team as well.
05:05Well, the difference is our opposing team, as you've seen tonight, they might not be on the same page with
05:13everything.
05:14They might still be taking jabs at each other and not trusting each other, where our team, the only people
05:22that didn't fully trust each other was me and Charlotte.
05:27And for now, we have settled our problems.
05:30We know that when I first came to Raw, I wanted to prove myself and I wanted to be the
05:38best.
05:39And I had always looked up to someone like Charlotte Flair and I knew that she was one of the
05:44top dogs, if not the top dog.
05:46So I took a leap and it was like a sink or swim situation.
05:52And obviously, Charlotte being Charlotte, she fought back.
05:54So that's where our beef pretty much started.
05:56And that's the whole reason that we had beef was because we wanted to be the best and we wanted
06:01to prove to everyone, not just ourselves and each other, but everyone that we were the best.
06:07But right now, we've discussed strategy.
06:10We have talked it out and we are on the same page.
06:13And that's a really dangerous combination for the other team.
06:19So I think that going into this, yes, we do all still think that we are the best, but we
06:23are also willing to put our egos aside for the common denominator here.
06:29And that is to win war games and beat the other team.
06:32And I think that's why we have the advantage.
06:34You talk about dangerous situations and I mean, you can't overlook the powerhouses on the other side of the ring
06:44and Nia Jax and Lash Legend and Lash.
06:47I mean, she's made a statement ever since she came up to the main roster when you're going up against
06:53opponents like Nia and Lash.
06:56What kind of threat does that pose to your war games team?
07:00I mean, it shows for itself.
07:03They're forces to be reckoned with and we're going to have to be careful with what we do with them
07:08and be very strategic with what we do and how we think.
07:13I've had many run-ins with Nia Jax in the past and I feel like I know her pretty well
07:19these days.
07:20So we're all going to have to come together and just strategize.
07:25Then there's Lash Legend.
07:26She's new and she's someone that we don't really know right now.
07:31So that's a little bit worrying in the back of my head.
07:35But at the same time, I also know how it feels to be in her situation and be the new
07:40person.
07:41Like I just said, you are trying to prove that you are the best.
07:44And sometimes that just doesn't work out in a team setting.
07:48So she can be all buddy-buddy with Nia Jax right now, but I don't know where their alliance lies
07:57since it is built on them hating each other, which could be an advantage for us.
08:04What do you think it is about Charlotte Flair that you are kind of cosmically connected to in terms of
08:11career?
08:11Because you're right.
08:12I mean, when you think about this rivalry that you guys have had and the story that you guys have
08:16had, it's really the story of your entire main roster career.
08:20I mean, coming up and thinking that this is now my time.
08:24I've done what I'm going to do in NXT.
08:25Now it's time to just dominate on the main roster.
08:28And maybe it wasn't quite time for that yet.
08:30Maybe Charlotte was the one to remind you of that.
08:33Then when it is time, Charlotte is still the one a couple of years later that you have to get
08:38through.
08:38And now that you're both at this place where you are two of the top stars in WWE, regardless of
08:46gender or any other qualification, you still end up in the same match together on the same show.
08:56What is that link?
09:00You know, I've been asking myself that question as well, and it's hard to pinpoint exactly what that link is
09:07because I was just an upbeat upstart, just wanting to make a name for herself and take down the best.
09:17But I was obviously, it just wasn't my time.
09:22And Charlotte reminded me that it wasn't my time.
09:26And then I tried again, and she put me back in my place.
09:29But each time that she put me back in my place, I kind of learned, well, I didn't learn a
09:35little bit.
09:35I learned a lot from her, actually.
09:36And that got me to the point when we met again at WrestleMania 39, and then I finally proved to
09:43her that I had been learning throughout those years and I had been putting that into play.
09:50So I feel like for us, the strive to be the best and want to prove ourselves and not just
10:00make a little bit of history, but make all the history and make a full name for yourself where your
10:08legacy is set in the lights here in the WWE.
10:11I feel like that's what makes us so similar.
10:14She wanted to achieve so much greatness and kind of make a name for herself away from the Flair name,
10:22away from her father, where me, I didn't have a family member here, but I was striving.
10:29A little girl from Adelaide, South Australia, I wanted to make it here.
10:32I wanted to make a name for myself.
10:34I wanted the name Rhea Ripley to live on within the WWE forever.
10:38I think just that drive and that passion and that determination to make a name for yourself is what makes
10:46Charlotte and I so similar in a way.
10:49No, it makes perfect sense.
10:50And there are a lot of ways to get that goal that you're describing, that goal to be the best,
10:57that goal to make a dent in the industry that you're in.
11:00And one of those ways is in the ring and another way is by monopolizing and dominating the conversation.
11:08And I think that Becky Lynch has figured out a way that no matter what is going on, that the
11:16world is going to talk about what she's doing.
11:18She's been doing it all over social media.
11:21She, I mean, you said it yourself, but the whole promo building up the war games team that's opposing you
11:28was just Becky Lynch talking and then Becky Lynch talking about everybody else on the team.
11:34And it works.
11:35I mean, when you're not talking about what Becky Lynch is doing on the show, you're talking about what Becky
11:39Lynch is doing on Twitter and Instagram.
11:40Is there a part of you that when you see that part of it, because that's a part of the
11:46business as well, that you go, oh, no, I need to get louder on social media because Becky Lynch is
11:52sucking up all the attention in the room.
11:55Look, Becky's a talker.
11:57She is a yapper.
12:00She's a barker.
12:02Right.
12:02Where I'm a fighter.
12:04That's what I do.
12:06Social media is social media.
12:08But at the end of the day, it is such a small group of individuals that believe in that hype.
12:19And at the end of the day, they can fight back on Twitter and they can fight back on Instagram
12:26and they can make videos and they can do all this social media bull crap.
12:31But at the end of the day, when you step in the ring, what are they going to do?
12:35Are they going to talk or are they going to fight?
12:38I'm here to fight.
12:40We're stepping into war games.
12:41You can't talk your way out of this.
12:43You can't yap your way out of this.
12:47AJ said it best.
12:48She's a little chihuahua.
12:50She's a small dog that has a loud bark.
12:53And yes, she can get scrappy sometimes and she's strategic and she can definitely work her way out of situations.
13:01But she's not working her way out of war games because if you work your way out of war games,
13:06you're disqualified.
13:07You lose.
13:08Your team loses.
13:09So you can run if you want and continue yapping.
13:12But at the end of the day, my team, we're all fighters.
13:15So we're here to fight.
13:17Like Billy Kidman's music said in the Ruthless Aggression Era, you can run if you want to, but you can't
13:22hide now.
13:23I'm assuming that means that you're not coming up with nicknames.
13:28You're more concentrating on the fighting aspect of war games.
13:32The cute nicknames is not your priority.
13:35Yeah, I mean, we've already got our cute nicknames sorted, so we don't need to worry about that anymore.
13:40No, no, I guess not.
13:42By the way, I do want to also say congratulations because speaking of social media, I was looking and I
13:46saw that there is even, they are furthering the merchandise collaboration line between you and Art the Clown and Terrifier.
13:54And as a very public fan of Rhea Ripley and a very public fan of the Terrifier franchise, to see
14:01these two worlds come together, it warms my heart.
14:05It's wild, dude.
14:06It's so cool.
14:07This is literally like, it's so weird because I'm literally living my dream right now.
14:12Like I'm here in the WWE.
14:14I'm accomplishing things that I've dreamt of as a kid.
14:17And I am now like, I know David, I know Art, I know Damien, I know all of them.
14:23And now I have my own collaboration with Terrifier and Art the Clown.
14:27And it's just like, all my wildest dreams are kind of coming true.
14:32So, yeah, I'm just so excited.
14:34And I love that it's a little Christmas edition too.
14:38Especially because like I had the idea of making Christmas shows for the Judgment Day back in the day.
14:42And I thought that was awesome.
14:44And we put little hats on the photo and it sold really well.
14:47And then this year, I didn't even have to ask.
14:49They just made Rhea Ripley Terrifier Christmas shirts.
14:52And it was just, it was just a dream come true.
14:55And I got to tell you how into it they are.
14:58Nobody knew I was going to bring that up because I literally just thought of it because I saw it
15:01earlier today.
15:01And I was like, that's awesome.
15:02They put a graphic, they had a graphic ready.
15:04They put a graphic right on the screen.
15:06As we're talking about it, it was the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life.
15:09Everyone's ready for mommy Terrifier.
15:11Let's go.
15:11They really are.
15:12They really are.
15:14I love it.
15:16Well, Rhea, I can't wait.
15:17I can't wait to see it all go down.
15:19I can't wait for War Games.
15:21Do you feel, are you going to take off, are you going to have to use the face mask to
15:25compete in War Games?
15:26Or will it be off by the time you get to War Games?
15:29I will have to wear it during this War Games match.
15:31And I will probably have it on the entire time unless someone takes it off forcibly.
15:37Um, my nose is somewhat healed, but it's still not fully healed.
15:41So, um, I will be wearing it, but I also will be doing it up, uh, just like I did
15:46last year.
15:47So I can't wait to show everyone exactly what my mask looks like.
15:50Plus that's great.
15:52Cause the action figure opportunities.
15:53Oh, yes, exactly.
15:55We'll get a new Ripley action figure.
15:57It's going to be great.
15:58Rhea Ripley.
15:58You're the best.
15:59I cannot wait for War Games.
16:01I cannot wait to see it all go down.
16:02Uh, uh, I w we'll be watching.
16:07Hell yeah.
16:07Thanks guys.
16:09Thanks Rhea.
