00:00Many people invest significant sum of money to buy a habit tracker spreadsheet in Etsy and Shopify.
00:05In this video, I offer you a cost-effective alternative for those keen on crafting their
00:09own habit tracker while also saving money. The first part of building a habit tracker spreadsheet
00:15is to create a spreadsheet that looks something like that with a habit on the left-hand side and
00:20a series of dates. And the next thing you have to do is to introduce a checkbox to the area.
00:24Select the cells that you want to introduce the checkbox to. Then after that, go insert checkbox.
00:28And now to calculate the percent complete, you're going to place your cursor on cell B28 and enter
00:34equal count if B8 to B27 is true, which counts the number of cells that has a checked checkbox and
00:41divides that count with number of cells between B8 to B27. And after that, apply the same formula
00:47right across. And as a test, let's select a few checkboxes here and you should see the percent
00:52completed value increase per respective column. Next, we're going to select all the cells in
00:57percent complete. Insert chart, chart type, we're going to set it as smooth line chart. Uncheck the
01:02use column AS header. Next, we're going to go to customize tab. Under chart style, we're going to
01:07change the chart border color to none. Then we go to series, put a check on their labels and change
01:13the position above and their label font as 14. Next, we go to vertical axis, minimum of minus 0.2
01:21and maximum of 1.2. And the text color for that will be white. And in grid lines and ticks,
01:27uncheck
01:28the major grid lines. And to remove the chart title and axis title, just change the font color to white.
01:33And after that, reposition and stretch your chart. And as a test, if you check a few more boxes,
01:40you can see that the line chart changes accordingly. Let's give our habit tracker a bit of character by
01:46adding some conditional formatting to our percent completed value so that we can identify days that
01:51we did not do well. Now select all the cells in your percent complete. And then go and select fill
01:57color, conditional formatting. And then you select color scale tab. And then change the color to red
02:03to white to green. On the main point, you're going to select the type to a number and set the
02:09value to
02:09zero. For a midpoint, you're going to set the type to number and the midpoint will be 0.5. And
02:16the max
02:17point, we're going to set the type to number and the value for that will be 1. And click on
02:22done.
02:23And your habit tracker template is now complete.
