00:00:00Rock the Block is back and we're going all-in Vegas style with a bold new
00:00:10lineup. The stakes are higher than ever. They're betting on great design.
00:00:30Hoping to hit the renovation jackpot. Welcome to Vegas. It's time to rock. A whole new block.
00:00:42This year celebrities with big design ambitions are paired up with HGTV pros.
00:00:53The team with the highest appraised value wins.
00:01:03I've done over a thousand renovation and design projects. I'm a reality star and Hulk Hogan's
00:01:10daughter. My design business is one of my most successful ventures. We're definitely
00:01:14going to get the win. 100%. I'm good at design. I don't want to participate in
00:01:20trophy. I very much want to win. So I'm back for redemption. Football is a really important
00:01:27part of my life. But now I have an interior design company. I'm definitely going to win.
00:01:31Let's go. I designed restaurants for 20 years. I
00:01:37would love to bring that hospitality restaurant energy into the space. I'm best known for being
00:01:44a member of the Boy Band 98 Degrees. For the last 15 years I have thrown myself into renovation
00:01:49and design. We've got a dynamic super power. I'm always looking to do something that's
00:01:56a little bit cooler that pushes the envelope. I started out on Survivor which is where I
00:02:00met Kim. I'm probably the least experienced. I'm very much outside the box when it comes
00:02:05to interior design. We're winning.
00:02:11Thank you very much. Let's make it happen.
00:02:15Go!
00:02:16Nobody expects the Boy Band Ballroom Broadway guy to be the tile guy.
00:02:20Big risk, big reward. If I lose to any of you, I will be so embarrassed.
00:02:24It's got work around town. The people that talk the most, they don't have anything to bring
00:02:30you have a dream. Oh, wow. Bold. This made me. Bright and cheery. Now this is my kind
00:02:38of office. I'm not a fan of the cabinets. Setting the mood in here.
00:02:43The moment of truth. Three! I wonder if my dad would be proud knowing that I'm doing
00:02:47this. Two! There's a reason nobody's done it before. One! This has to be the best moment
00:02:54of your life. Alongside having a child, it's up there. Which team is our big winner?
00:03:15Hello and welcome to Rock the Block!
00:03:21We're going bigger and bolder than ever before because we're in Las Vegas, Nevada!
00:03:29Home of high stakes, big bets, and even bigger personalities. We're in North Vegas just a
00:03:36few minutes from the Strip. And just like a night on the Strip, every move you make could
00:03:40mean jackpot or bust. So this season, we've got four new incredible duos ready to gamble
00:03:47it all to achieve design glory. But there's a twist. For the first time ever, seasoned HGTV pros are teaming
00:03:56up with
00:03:56celebrity partners. Each with experience and passion for design and renovation.
00:04:03Yeah! Can I get an amen over here?
00:04:07Yes! Welcome to the other side!
00:04:11So we've got Mina, season one Rock the Blocker. You're teamed with legendary, Super Bowl winning, tight end,
00:04:18Vernon Davis. Ow, ow! So I understand you're also kind of an artist?
00:04:22Yes, I am. Acrylic on canvas.
00:04:24Really? This is exciting!
00:04:27Yeah, I guess you guys didn't know that about me, huh?
00:04:29All right. Yeah, you're scared now, huh?
00:04:30All right.
00:04:30Okay. Mina, back to face the block. How are you feeling about that?
00:04:35A little stressed because I won absolutely nothing season one, so there's a little pressure, but...
00:04:39Listen, we'll try to keep it consistent for you and do the same thing this year.
00:04:43We're gonna kick butt.
00:04:47Scott McGilleraire.
00:04:48Yes, sir.
00:04:48A pro among pros. You're teamed with Brooke Hogan.
00:04:52This baby right here.
00:04:53Yeah.
00:04:54Give her a round of applause.
00:04:56Thanks, guys.
00:04:57So, Brooke, you're a singer, artist, TV star, and also a designer in Nashville, right?
00:05:01Yes, I have my own business now for eight years.
00:05:04Nice. So, Scott, how many renovations have you done?
00:05:08Well over a thousand, for sure.
00:05:09Ooh, well over a thousand.
00:05:12Oh, wow!
00:05:14I love it!
00:05:15Listen, I'm here to cause a little bit of trouble, but also to shake things up.
00:05:19And I know my peers quite well, so I'm not afraid.
00:05:24And I got a secret weapon.
00:05:26Yeah.
00:05:26And we have renowned designer Tanya Nyack.
00:05:31You're teamed with Drew Lachey from 98 Degrees to Broadway, avid DIYer, and Dancing With The Stars champion,
00:05:40my band.
00:05:41Oh, wow.
00:05:42Yeah.
00:05:44And in that competition, I took down one 49er, Jerry Rice.
00:05:47So I'm looking forward to taking down another.
00:05:49Hey!
00:05:51There that was.
00:05:52Well, I knew what was gonna happen.
00:05:53I knew these guys were gonna come in and try to poke the bear.
00:05:56They gotta put their chests at you.
00:05:58Yeah, you know, it's cool.
00:05:59I'm the big little fish on the block.
00:06:01Now, I definitely feel like I have to elevate my game.
00:06:04So what are you thinking, Tanya, being on the block for the first time?
00:06:07I'm super pumped.
00:06:08I'm not a stranger to competition.
00:06:11I do restaurants.
00:06:12I do high-end residential.
00:06:13I'm gonna merge the two with my boy here, Drew.
00:06:17And we're gonna create some Vegas magic.
00:06:19We also have two literal survivors on the block.
00:06:24Yeah, you do.
00:06:24Yeah, you do.
00:06:25Of course, talking about Kim Wolfe and Chelsea Meisner.
00:06:28You guys were on Survivor together, right?
00:06:30Yeah.
00:06:30Yeah, 15 years ago, we met on a beach in Samoa.
00:06:33Not only are you a winning Survivor, but you're also an accomplished designer in your home state of Texas.
00:06:39I'm excited to be on the block.
00:06:41This is a dream.
00:06:41And I get to do it with one of my best friends.
00:06:43So, Chelsea, do you think you've got what it takes to survive this?
00:06:46I mean, if I can survive 39 days on a desolate island, I can definitely survive rock the block.
00:06:53Let's hope so.
00:06:53Maybe I'm gonna eat my words on that, but we're time.
00:06:56Yeah.
00:06:56All right.
00:06:58These are the largest single-story homes we've ever done.
00:07:02The footprint totals over 5,000 square feet.
00:07:06Big house.
00:07:06Their current market value is 1.9 million.
00:07:10Wow.
00:07:11Dang.
00:07:11And you guys have $275,000 to transform these blank slate homes into your masterpieces.
00:07:20The team that adds the most appraised value at the end of the seven weeks wins epic bragging rights and
00:07:28a street sign with their name on it.
00:07:34We'll once again be making a donation of 100,000 meals in your name to No Kid Hungry,
00:07:40a national campaign to end childhood hunger in America.
00:07:44Over the past six years, funds raised by Rock the Block helped provide over 600,000 meals.
00:07:50Love that.
00:07:51Awesome.
00:07:54You may have guessed by now, there are always new twists and turns on the block.
00:08:00And this time, it's no different.
00:08:02Oh, no.
00:08:03You still have just one week to complete each space.
00:08:06We will still assign a new space every week.
00:08:09The guest judge will still select the team they believe designed the space the best.
00:08:15The criteria that you'll be judged on are added value, overall design, and creativity.
00:08:20But you will need to use strategy more than ever before because the winning team will have a choice.
00:08:27Win $3,000 and put it toward your designs the following week or add $1,000 to your final appraisal
00:08:37at the end.
00:08:38Interesting.
00:08:39Almost every season on Rock the Block.
00:08:42The difference between first and second, under $10,000.
00:08:45That's a tough choice.
00:08:46Oh, that would sting.
00:08:47To get to the end and lose by $1,000 when you could have put it, I mean, that's going
00:08:51to...
00:08:52But what if what we did with the $3,000 got us to the point where we were able to
00:08:55lose by $1,000?
00:08:56It's going to be our first domestic dispute, I can tell.
00:08:58The weekly judging will once again be blind, meaning you don't know who's coming to judge and they won't know
00:09:05whose house they're in.
00:09:06More importantly, you won't be in the house with the judge to explain your choices or sell them on your
00:09:11space.
00:09:12I think across the board, not being able to give context to some of your choices is challenging, but I
00:09:17think it puts us all at an equal disadvantage.
00:09:20Oh, and one more thing. No more starting with the kitchens and dining rooms. Nope.
00:09:24This time, we'll begin with the main suite, including the bedroom, full bath, and closet.
00:09:31Ooh, okay.
00:09:32You'll also have to start work on your exteriors this week. Are you feeling competitive yet?
00:09:36I just want to kick all your asses. I got to tell you, like, I'm doing it.
00:09:41Awesome. I love when people are cocky right off the rip. It just makes it more fun to take the
00:09:46loud ones out.
00:09:47And remember, each team will receive their furniture and decor from Wayfair.
00:09:55On my go, you'll head into your houses, check it all out, look at everything you're going to be dealing
00:10:01with for the next several weeks, then focus on the main suite.
00:10:05Are you guys ready? Yes!
00:10:08Go!
00:10:08Well, then, lock the block starts now!
00:10:13Let's hit it, team! Let's hit it!
00:10:25This is going to be good.
00:10:31Wow!
00:10:32Wait, hold on. This isn't a...
00:10:33Shut up. Is this a courtyard?
00:10:37Oh, my God.
00:10:38Oh, I like this.
00:10:40Wow.
00:10:40This is cool.
00:10:41Yeah, this is cool.
00:10:44This is going to be so fun to design.
00:10:46We're nature girls, and we love outdoors in and indoors out, so that's such a killer moment to get to
00:10:52do that and do it well.
00:10:53Yeah.
00:10:53You ready for the big mamma jamma?
00:10:55All right.
00:10:56Yeah.
00:10:56Brrr. Drum roll.
00:10:58This door is, like, twice as big as I am.
00:11:01Whoa.
00:11:02This is big.
00:11:04This is crazy.
00:11:06This is huge.
00:11:09This is a decent-sized kitchen.
00:11:11It goes out to the back, which I like to have that off the kitchen.
00:11:15Beautiful.
00:11:16Where are you going?
00:11:18Taking big steps through a big house.
00:11:20I'm feeling like Jack with the Beanstalk. I mean, these doors are gigantic.
00:11:24It's a cavernous, open concept, anything's possible.
00:11:33This has got to be the garage.
00:11:36That makes sense.
00:11:36So this is mudroom laundry.
00:11:38What is this door?
00:11:39Interesting.
00:11:41What?
00:11:42What in the world?
00:11:43Whoa.
00:11:43Oh, wow.
00:11:47Whoa.
00:11:48Whoa.
00:11:48I feel like I'm in an event space.
00:11:50I've never seen anything like this before.
00:11:52This is totally throwing me furlough.
00:11:54I did not expect an RV garage.
00:11:56It's got lots of potential.
00:11:57I mean, just this square footage alone.
00:11:59The RV garage?
00:12:01That's, uh...
00:12:02Intriguing.
00:12:03That's going to be an interesting nut to crack.
00:12:04All right.
00:12:05Let's go dig into the primary.
00:12:09Ooh.
00:12:10What?
00:12:12Oh.
00:12:13What is this?
00:12:15Um...
00:12:15We just got to Vegas.
00:12:17Whoa, yeah.
00:12:18This is...
00:12:19This is, uh...
00:12:20Ridiculous.
00:12:20It's like a rotunda.
00:12:22What an odd entrance to the main suite.
00:12:25This is weird.
00:12:27I hope you don't love it, because I hate it.
00:12:29It's just...
00:12:30Useless.
00:12:31Oh, this is cool.
00:12:32Oh, my gosh.
00:12:33All my dreams are coming true.
00:12:35Should we do, like, a Leonardo da Vinci thing?
00:12:37Oh...
00:12:37Oh, boy.
00:12:38This could be a poll room.
00:12:40You could be on a stripper poll in here.
00:12:42What have I signed up for?
00:12:44I'm not happy about this.
00:12:46Welcome to Absinthe.
00:12:47Woo!
00:12:48Oh, my God.
00:12:49Oh, my God.
00:12:51Oh, my God.
00:12:52I don't know that we're going to be able to squeeze $2,000 to run a gas line.
00:12:56If I lose to any of you, I will be so embarrassed.
00:13:00Ah!
00:13:00Watch the wall.
00:13:01Oh, my God.
00:13:03Oh, my God.
00:13:03This is the most stressful thing.
00:13:18This is a very odd way to transition between rooms.
00:13:24Getting to know you.
00:13:25I feel like someone's following me.
00:13:28We're going into this, and I didn't know that it was going to be as unlikely of a pairing
00:13:35as we potentially are.
00:13:37Yeah.
00:13:37What's bringing you to the block?
00:13:39A fresh start for my life.
00:13:40I feel like I've been through so much, and I've been doing my design business quietly,
00:13:45and I kind of just let the narrative be whatever people want to say.
00:13:49It was actually my husband that inspired me to say,
00:13:52Brooke, you need to tell people your story, and you need to not be afraid to share it.
00:13:56A lot of people don't know that I've had my own design business for about eight years,
00:14:00decorating short-term rentals in Nashville.
00:14:02I'm not just Hulk Hogan's daughter, so Rock the Block is my chance to prove I do have design chops.
00:14:07I came here because I've done a lot of other things for other people,
00:14:11been helping people with vacation properties, income properties, their own properties,
00:14:16and I'm ready to get on the biggest real estate competition and show people what's possible.
00:14:23Yeah.
00:14:23How are you feeling about Rock the Block?
00:14:24Normally, it's like crawl, walk, run.
00:14:26You're like, I'm just going to start with a sprint.
00:14:28Start running?
00:14:28I feel like that's kind of what I've done my whole life though, right?
00:14:31It's like you have to go 100 miles an hour at it.
00:14:33That's kind of my personality, so I'm not nervous.
00:14:36Are you nervous?
00:14:37Well, now I'm nervous because I'm like a prepare, plan, execute.
00:14:42Yeah, we've got to wing it, man.
00:14:43You're my wild card.
00:14:45I would never pick the two of us as a partnership,
00:14:48and I think this is going to be a struggle for both of us.
00:14:52But if we can take the energy and the passion that you have with the experience and guidance that I'm
00:14:57hoping to bring to the table,
00:14:58I think that we're going to rack up a bunch of wins along the way.
00:15:02Cheers to a fresh start.
00:15:03And win in the block.
00:15:05Win in the block, baby.
00:15:07This is the worst entrance ever.
00:15:08The current layout of the main suite is a waste of valuable square footage.
00:15:13You walk in, and there's this rotunda before you even get into the main suite.
00:15:17Then, to the right is the bedroom, and to the left is the bathroom and closet.
00:15:21We need to fix this.
00:15:23Let's look at the bedroom now.
00:15:25Let's see what that does to our plan.
00:15:26Oh, look at that.
00:15:29Covered yard.
00:15:30Ooh, pretty.
00:15:31What I'm thinking is I'm visualizing the center of it not being center, and I'm picturing this is where I'm
00:15:38laying in bed.
00:15:39Yeah.
00:15:39Center with that wall.
00:15:41Okay, let's ideate.
00:15:43You're going to get so dirty.
00:15:44It's all right.
00:15:45I'm dirty.
00:15:46All right.
00:15:47We're lying in bed.
00:15:49Everything's big in Vegas.
00:15:50So let's keep this nice and high so it feels like grandiose to Vegas.
00:15:56Yes.
00:15:56So we drop the ceiling here, and we do tray ceiling there.
00:15:59Okay, I like that.
00:16:00Chandelier.
00:16:01Fireplace.
00:16:01It's already hot.
00:16:02We're in Vegas.
00:16:03But it gets cold here, too.
00:16:05And people like to cozy up.
00:16:06It's sexy.
00:16:07Okay.
00:16:08Fireplace.
00:16:09Do we want to start arching stuff?
00:16:11Yes.
00:16:11I love arching everything.
00:16:12Let's arch this down.
00:16:14Okay.
00:16:14And then we just need a moment over here.
00:16:16You know when you get a nice hotel room?
00:16:18Yeah.
00:16:18There's always a little seating area.
00:16:19I like that.
00:16:20We get rid of this wall.
00:16:22Okay.
00:16:22We get rid of this.
00:16:23Right.
00:16:24We delete this.
00:16:25And I'm thinking I just delete everything on this side.
00:16:28So that when you walk into the bedroom door, you can actually get into the bedroom.
00:16:31Get into the bedroom instead of doing a maze.
00:16:33Without going for a maze.
00:16:34Right.
00:16:34I'm in.
00:16:35Put me in coach.
00:16:36I like it.
00:16:36So let's see what that does to the closet.
00:16:38I feel like you're designing a house for me.
00:16:40That's...
00:16:41I'm living vicariously.
00:16:42You're a client.
00:16:42Yes.
00:16:43What's your dream closet?
00:16:45My dream closet is that of like a designer store.
00:16:49Right?
00:16:49All the LED lighting, the glass, the sexy cabinets.
00:16:53Like it needs to look like a store.
00:16:54Okay.
00:16:54Then let's make that happen.
00:16:56Okay.
00:16:56I think we start by increasing the size of the closet.
00:17:00This is all going to go...
00:17:03Bye bye.
00:17:04Here's the game changer.
00:17:05Okay.
00:17:06I think we don't even put a wall back.
00:17:08I think we leave it like an open display case.
00:17:10So when you walk into the primary bedroom, it looks like there's a store in here.
00:17:14Can we do like an island where you can like see down into your jewelry?
00:17:17Yes.
00:17:18We do an island in the middle that'll anchor the space.
00:17:21Nobody's going to have as much closet as this.
00:17:23I like that.
00:17:23That's good.
00:17:24Good thinking.
00:17:25Let's break this bathroom.
00:17:27Oh my gosh.
00:17:28What is happening here?
00:17:30Is this all a shower?
00:17:31What if we put a sauna in?
00:17:33That's a good call.
00:17:34If this bathroom is going to meet the caliber of everything else that we're doing, we have
00:17:39to find room for maybe a tub, a shower, and a sauna.
00:17:42You could almost fit the tub, shower, sauna this way.
00:17:45All right.
00:17:46I think we do a salt wall for the sauna.
00:17:48Yeah.
00:17:49I'm a big fan of the liege tile.
00:17:50But if we do sauna over here, you're going to have like a cedar wall.
00:17:54Right.
00:17:54You got to pick something neutral, like a white.
00:17:56Yes.
00:17:57Double vanity.
00:17:58And I'm picturing cut out arches for the vanity.
00:18:02It's starting to feel modern, but the arch is going to be our...
00:18:06Gives you that hacienda, gives you that Mexican Pueblo kind of feel.
00:18:10Like a modern hacienda?
00:18:12I like that.
00:18:13That's a good vibe.
00:18:14We're on track to spend between $60,000 and $70,000.
00:18:18So just so you're aware, I think it's important that we have this conversation now.
00:18:22I want to be pragmatic.
00:18:23I feel like I'm in trouble.
00:18:25We need to budget.
00:18:27No!
00:18:28We are a renovation family now.
00:18:30Oh no.
00:18:30Okay, we'll budget.
00:18:31Let's get to work.
00:18:32Okay.
00:18:32We're already wasting time.
00:18:33Let's smash some stuff.
00:18:34And time is money.
00:18:38This looks like the bedroom space, right?
00:18:40This is not doing it for me.
00:18:43It needs to be more open.
00:18:44Yeah.
00:18:45Like this wall shouldn't be there.
00:18:46Well, I think the bathroom's on the other side.
00:18:48Yeah, but it should be...
00:18:49Bathroom and closet we're still looking for.
00:18:51I'm not happy about this.
00:18:52Holy cow!
00:18:54Closet?
00:18:54Okay.
00:18:55Which I feel like is big.
00:18:57You couldn't fit the third of your shoe collection in here.
00:19:01How do you know about my shoe collection?
00:19:02Because I stalk you on Instagram.
00:19:04Oh my God.
00:19:05I saw your shoe collection.
00:19:06You have a problem, my friend.
00:19:08We're at the beginning.
00:19:09It's like a new relationship.
00:19:10It's all sunshine and roses and we love each other and it's great.
00:19:14Maybe in a week he's going to be like, done with her.
00:19:16We don't know each other that well yet.
00:19:18The minute I found out that you were my teammate, I was psyched because you have way more to
00:19:22you than football.
00:19:23I think the other teams will underestimate us just because of me.
00:19:26They probably look at me as a, oh, this form of football player.
00:19:30I don't think anyone looks at you in that tone of voice.
00:19:32I love design.
00:19:33I flip homes and I actually started a company called Modern Class Design.
00:19:36I started flipping houses years back when I was playing football and when I retired,
00:19:40I started doing it more.
00:19:42Do you do like the floor plan, the design selections, like all of that?
00:19:45Yeah.
00:19:46I do everything.
00:19:46I pick out all the material.
00:19:48I'm here because I am a true artist.
00:19:50I'm a creator.
00:19:51I went to school for fine arts.
00:19:52I learned how to paint.
00:19:53I feel like a house is the same thing.
00:19:55You have a blank canvas.
00:19:56It's up to you to add the pieces where they need to be.
00:19:59You were in Indy, right?
00:20:00Yes.
00:20:00Indianapolis, yeah.
00:20:01Where I worked very transitional.
00:20:03So every single house I've done has had to be very specific with appraised value.
00:20:08That's my jam.
00:20:09It is taking a small budget and making the most of it.
00:20:13I think it's going to be interesting to see how our design styles mesh where we agree,
00:20:18like where we don't.
00:20:19I'm just going to enjoy the process because I know that I'm going to be able to take so
00:20:22much away from this by learning from Mina.
00:20:24That'll help make me better when it comes to my designs, my builds.
00:20:27We're coming for that sign.
00:20:29Oh my God.
00:20:30I hope I catch it.
00:20:33Oh, touchdown.
00:20:35Mina Vernon Boulevard.
00:20:36Let's go.
00:20:39I think it's a family home.
00:20:41So I think it needs to be a place that's like comfortable, not too fancy pants, sharp quarters.
00:20:49I think this layout works.
00:20:51I think I like it.
00:20:52I like the different compartments.
00:20:54Yeah.
00:20:54The shower, the tub right there.
00:20:56I mean, this wet room space is a good size.
00:20:59I'm not a stranger to taking care of my body.
00:21:01I played 14 years as a professional athlete and I always had a steam unit.
00:21:05Think about relaxation.
00:21:06Yeah.
00:21:06You come in your bathroom.
00:21:07You want to feel like you're the spa.
00:21:09Yeah.
00:21:09Right?
00:21:10The steam showers, I think, clutch.
00:21:12I think that's going to add some value and not everyone's going to have that.
00:21:15So in our wet room, adding a steam shower, a tub in front of the window and glass it all
00:21:20in and then just do a tile floor.
00:21:22I like that.
00:21:24Big chunk of vanity.
00:21:25All the way across.
00:21:26Yeah.
00:21:26With cabinets going up on the side.
00:21:28That's a great idea.
00:21:30I want to figure out the closet.
00:21:33Can we get rid of this rotunda?
00:21:36Because this is the back side of it.
00:21:37Oh, yeah.
00:21:37That got to go.
00:21:38We just then get rid of this and we could maybe even still do curb and then deck in
00:21:44it out with some custom built-ins.
00:21:46And I think it might be cool to have a washer and dryer in here.
00:21:50All right.
00:21:51Main bedroom.
00:21:52So I know it's not as big, but I think I would put the bed here.
00:21:56Exactly.
00:21:57Nice tall headboard.
00:21:59Oh, what about a fire pit right there?
00:22:01I mean, I would like to have that in my bedroom.
00:22:03What are you thinking?
00:22:04See-through.
00:22:05Like a double-sided one?
00:22:06Yep.
00:22:08That's very Vegas.
00:22:09Are you thinking one of those long linear ones?
00:22:11Because my concern would be the plumbing.
00:22:14So there's obviously some plumbing roughed in.
00:22:16Yep.
00:22:16But if the plumbing is either not in the way or we can afford to move it, that would be
00:22:21cool.
00:22:22Well, we can crunch the numbers and kind of see what it comes out.
00:22:24I think we want to spend enough of our budget that we've got wow in here.
00:22:28I would like to spend 40.
00:22:30I think realistically we're probably closer to like 60, 65.
00:22:34Maybe we should cap it at 60.
00:22:36I feel like we can do that.
00:22:37Yeah.
00:22:37I think the changes we're going to make out there are giving us a little more room,
00:22:41a little more flow like through the spaces.
00:22:43It's going to fit in with our goal of making it more comfortable of a space.
00:22:47Comfortable, but elegant.
00:22:48That's how we win the block.
00:22:49Let's do it.
00:22:50Oh!
00:22:52I'm going to go down one of these times.
00:22:54I can handle it.
00:22:55You ready?
00:22:56We are ready.
00:23:02I think we're going to win.
00:23:03I don't like to lose.
00:23:04It's not about winning or losing because when all of our competitors lose, we want to be sympathetic to them.
00:23:10True.
00:23:10We empathize with you.
00:23:11I mean, we don't understand because...
00:23:13We're not losers.
00:23:14If our competition isn't scared yet, they're about to be.
00:23:22I think week one of anything is important.
00:23:25I like to think of it as football.
00:23:26If you can get a good start and get that momentum going, you know, everything is going to go smoothly.
00:23:30So winning week one to me is imperative.
00:23:37Should we tackle the bathroom first?
00:23:40Wow!
00:23:41Ooh!
00:23:42Look at this!
00:23:43Karaoke stage!
00:23:45Yeah!
00:23:47Bathtub karaoke.
00:23:48That's a whole new thing.
00:23:49But what do you think about the layout?
00:23:50Do you think we should switch it up a little?
00:23:52I mean, I obviously don't want it to look like everybody else's, but...
00:23:55I...
00:23:56You start moving plumbing.
00:23:57You start moving drains.
00:23:59You start getting into lots of extra time, lots of extra money.
00:24:02I already hear the practical side of Drew coming up.
00:24:05When I heard that I was being teamed up with Drew Lachey, the whole 16-year-old fangirl, Tanya, just
00:24:12was...
00:24:13I was freaking out.
00:24:14Well, cheers.
00:24:15I'm pumped.
00:24:16I'm so glad that you're my teammate.
00:24:17Me too.
00:24:18You know, renovation has been something that I've been passionate about for a long time.
00:24:21Where did that come from?
00:24:22I got scammed once.
00:24:24By a contractor?
00:24:25I got scammed by a contractor.
00:24:26And I vowed at that moment that I would never let it happen again.
00:24:28So I started trying to learn everything I could about the renovation and construction and how my house works.
00:24:33So I'd never be the sucker again.
00:24:34And that turned into me being the go-to guy for all my friends and family, you know, when they
00:24:39have something they need to fix.
00:24:40So for me, it's been a goal to get on here and show that I can do this.
00:24:45I'm coming to Rock the Block to make a name for myself.
00:24:47This is a space that I want to be in.
00:24:49This is something I feel strongly about.
00:24:50This is something that I want to win.
00:24:52It's just so wild for me to be able to do Rock the Block right now because I've had the
00:24:57opportunity to show my work, but not at this level.
00:25:01Right.
00:25:01I've served as a mentor on competition shows, but I've had a design firm for over 20 years.
00:25:06And I think a lot of people don't realize that we design a lot of restaurants.
00:25:10My specialty is hospitality.
00:25:12And I always feel like there's that whimsy of people going out to dinner and like wishing that they could
00:25:18take some of that and put it into their homes.
00:25:20Yeah.
00:25:20But I like also to have longevity to it.
00:25:23I don't want it to be too trendy.
00:25:25This is the best of both worlds.
00:25:27Yeah.
00:25:27Like I can kind of do what I do, you do what you do, and then we can kind of
00:25:31overlap where we can.
00:25:32Our own little yin and yang.
00:25:33Between what Drew knows from construction and what I know in design, I just feel like we're a dream duo.
00:25:39I'm not going to say we're the team to beat, but we're the team to beat.
00:25:44I want it to feel like some of these resorts on the strip without being so specific and like gaudy.
00:25:50Yes.
00:25:51I'm down.
00:25:52This to me just feels like a lot of space.
00:25:55Love the idea of a tub here.
00:25:58Hell yes.
00:25:59And on this side, shower heads.
00:26:01Yep.
00:26:01If we open a door here, I think it'll add value to do that.
00:26:04More glass, the better.
00:26:06So we'll be French doors right here.
00:26:07And on this wall?
00:26:08Big, full vanity.
00:26:09Maybe we run a long cabinet here.
00:26:12Yep.
00:26:13We just have to slay it with the finishes.
00:26:15If we're not changing the plumbing, then this place has to look like a penthouse suite.
00:26:21You want to go take a look at the closet?
00:26:22Let's do it.
00:26:23It's a big closet.
00:26:24I mean, we're almost 16 feet.
00:26:26It's a huge closet.
00:26:27Yeah.
00:26:28For me.
00:26:29But I think there's only one closet, so it would have to be shared.
00:26:33How do we divide this up?
00:26:35I'm a little concerned about the layout because we lose a lot of real estate.
00:26:41Right.
00:26:41With this thing.
00:26:42It's like a rotunda.
00:26:43I don't like it from the outside and I don't like it from the inside.
00:26:46Yeah.
00:26:47I think we just get rid of it.
00:26:48Like, why don't we make a bigger closet and fit it out with a custom built-in closet?
00:26:53There is a lot of height.
00:26:55So you could do multiple tiers.
00:26:58I don't want to waste the money for shelves that no one can ever access.
00:27:01Okay.
00:27:02We could do some sort of island and maybe that's dresser drawers.
00:27:07Yeah.
00:27:07All right.
00:27:08So this is the primary bedroom.
00:27:10It's decent size.
00:27:12I want it to feel like you walk in it and it just feels like it's a warm hug.
00:27:17Intimate and cozy.
00:27:18I like that idea.
00:27:19And right now it does not feel like a warm hug at all.
00:27:22No.
00:27:22Not at all.
00:27:22I have a real aversion to color.
00:27:25But I feel like it's our first challenge and I want to challenge ourselves here.
00:27:30And maybe we don't do neutral.
00:27:33Are you talking about like AWOL?
00:27:35Are you talking about...
00:27:37If we're doing color, then we do color.
00:27:44That scares me.
00:27:46That's terrifying.
00:27:47If you have a favorite color, what would it be?
00:27:50Blue.
00:27:51Blue.
00:27:51So what if we wallpaper it?
00:27:53Okay.
00:27:53And then that way, the wallpaper can have maybe like a texture.
00:27:57Okay.
00:27:57Sounds like a warm hug.
00:27:58All right.
00:27:59So if the bed is centered on that wall.
00:28:01Yeah.
00:28:01What do you think about a fireplace?
00:28:03We live in Vegas.
00:28:04Do we need a fireplace?
00:28:05Yeah, but it's freezing at night.
00:28:06Okay.
00:28:06Built-ins over here.
00:28:08Okay.
00:28:09So what do you think?
00:28:10How much should we allocate for all of these spaces?
00:28:13We're at least 40 plus.
00:28:16Yeah.
00:28:16At least.
00:28:17All the cabinetry in the closet.
00:28:18Don't forget, we're not changing plumbing.
00:28:19We're not changing plumbing, which will save us several thousand dollars.
00:28:23Right.
00:28:23And remember, we won't need any glass for the shower.
00:28:26And I'll make sure I find us a tile that doesn't cost as much money.
00:28:30It could bring home the big win.
00:28:31I think so.
00:28:32All right.
00:28:32We got a big plan here.
00:28:34You sure you don't want to go beige?
00:28:36Don't tease me.
00:28:37Don't tease me.
00:28:47Let's go to the bathroom.
00:28:49Interesting.
00:28:50I don't love that all these windows are like open to what should feel like private.
00:28:55I think I like my bathroom to feel a little cozier.
00:28:59Yeah.
00:28:59Who's our ideal buyer?
00:29:01People like us.
00:29:03Yeah.
00:29:04This is crazy, right?
00:29:05Here we are.
00:29:06We get to go and do this crazy competition together.
00:29:10Who would have thought that we are on Rock the Block together?
00:29:13It's been a while since we've competed.
00:29:15We're middle-aged now.
00:29:16So much has changed.
00:29:18We met on Survivor, but then one of the things that keeps us connected is our love of design.
00:29:24Kim has already helped me renovate two homes.
00:29:27So we've picked out wallpaper together.
00:29:29We've picked out tile together.
00:29:30Yeah.
00:29:31We've come up with a budget and blown it together.
00:29:33Yeah.
00:29:34I know you have all the confidence in the world because this is what you live and breathe every day,
00:29:38but I don't live and breathe this every day.
00:29:41So I'm a little nervous that I'm going to slow you down.
00:29:44I'm a hairstylist by trade.
00:29:45It's an art form.
00:29:46I feel like I'm more of an artist than an interior designer.
00:29:50So I feel like I have something to prove to myself that I have what it takes to do a
00:29:56design like this and make big decisions.
00:29:58I think I always kind of feel like I have something to prove.
00:30:02I'm always looking to do something that's just a little bit cooler, that pushes the envelope just a little bit
00:30:06more.
00:30:07And I love partnering with Chelsea in this because I feel like when I work with Chelsea, I do my
00:30:11best work because she has an excellent standard.
00:30:14And so I'm trying to help design to her standards.
00:30:17And then we're just going like this, you know, we're winning.
00:30:21What do you think about moving the shower around and not having the tub in with the shower?
00:30:26Yeah, I don't want the tub shower combo.
00:30:28I'm with you.
00:30:29This feels like too much space for this.
00:30:31Yep.
00:30:31What do you think about putting a fireplace in here?
00:30:33I mean, love that.
00:30:34Do you like that?
00:30:35Think about how cozy that would be to be in a tub with a fireplace next to you.
00:30:38It's kind of like a sexy thing going on.
00:30:40I think it's super sexy.
00:30:42Okay.
00:30:42So this window goes.
00:30:45Yeah.
00:30:45Move this window over.
00:30:47Right.
00:30:48Fireplace in the middle.
00:30:49Two vanities.
00:30:51And then the tub just floats here.
00:30:52I like that.
00:30:53We can push the shower here.
00:30:55Yeah.
00:30:55Right.
00:30:55And then toilet closet right here.
00:30:57Okay.
00:30:58And then this has got to be closet.
00:31:00Yep.
00:31:00The angles are wild in here.
00:31:02Well, it's the rotunda.
00:31:03This has to go.
00:31:04Yeah.
00:31:04I do feel like the closet needs like a little bit of sex appeal too.
00:31:08Totally.
00:31:08I love a great closet.
00:31:10Like I want it to feel like a Cuban cigar box.
00:31:14Cool.
00:31:14You know what I mean?
00:31:15I know exactly what you mean.
00:31:16Maybe do a his and her situation.
00:31:19Like there's enough room.
00:31:20Great.
00:31:21Where it's all wood.
00:31:21We do like a green chartreuse wallpaper.
00:31:24Love.
00:31:25Island for extra storage.
00:31:27Love that.
00:31:28This big wall.
00:31:29Yeah.
00:31:30Is this the big garage space?
00:31:33Yeah.
00:31:33I would want to be connected to whatever usable square footage we convert that into.
00:31:38That makes total sense.
00:31:40So we can do something stylish and cool so it's not just like a big door in the middle
00:31:43of our closet.
00:31:44We can make it discreet.
00:31:45I think that's smart.
00:31:46Let's go look at the bedroom.
00:31:48Okay.
00:31:50Oh wow.
00:31:51This is a big room.
00:31:52It's just a square.
00:31:54I know.
00:31:54So I think we have to get really creative in here.
00:31:57It doesn't have any oomph.
00:31:58Yeah.
00:31:58It just feels kind of blasey.
00:32:00There's no personality to this room at all.
00:32:02You know when you go into just like a really killer hotel and they have that great headboard
00:32:07wall.
00:32:08You like that?
00:32:08I do.
00:32:09If there's a way that we can bring like a curvature in and we end here.
00:32:14I like that.
00:32:15So this would be the center of the bed.
00:32:17Nightstand.
00:32:18Yeah.
00:32:18Pendant.
00:32:19Curtains.
00:32:20And then this wall.
00:32:21What would make this feel peaceful to you?
00:32:23I mean do you do another fireplace in here?
00:32:25I mean I don't think you can have too many if they're done well.
00:32:28Like fireplace off center which I love.
00:32:32I like that.
00:32:33Uh oh.
00:32:34That's maybe a little too hotel-y for me.
00:32:36Alright.
00:32:37Maybe we just filled in some kind of a desk area.
00:32:40I like it.
00:32:41How would you describe our design?
00:32:43I do think we're saying sexy a lot.
00:32:45We are.
00:32:45And I think Vegas is sexy and we do want to bring that to the house.
00:32:48Yep.
00:32:49I feel like our color palette is going to be like more masculine.
00:32:53Okay.
00:32:53Kind of smoky colors.
00:32:55Is smoky sexy?
00:32:56Is that our vibe?
00:32:58Okay.
00:32:58How much do you think this is going to cost us?
00:33:00I mean when I think about all three spaces I feel like we can do this for around $65,000
00:33:04-$70,000.
00:33:05Okay.
00:33:06It's a lot.
00:33:07But this is an important space.
00:33:09Very important space.
00:33:09And I really want to win this space.
00:33:10Thanks.
00:33:11Let's get started.
00:33:12I'm ready to demo.
00:33:14Gonna take out my frustration on this wall.
00:33:15Here we go.
00:33:18Yeah!
00:33:21The one thing that I think makes this dynamic of the two of us really cool and special is that
00:33:27you're all about Livable.
00:33:29He brings the Livable to it and I think that I'm bringing the design aesthetic which is bringing the Lux.
00:33:33That Las Vegas Lux.
00:33:35So the pairing together is going to be epic.
00:33:38Team Livable Lux.
00:33:42I totally think we have a leg up with our shared history not only on Survivor but already designing together.
00:33:48Some of these teams are meeting each other for the first time and so they don't have that chemistry.
00:33:53There's a lot of room for conflict and I think we feel confident that we can navigate this very well
00:33:58together.
00:33:58We're about to see what we're made of.
00:34:13Let's dry fit and then we'll cut.
00:34:15This is a full barrel ceiling.
00:34:17Yeah.
00:34:18So we'll get one arch on this side, the other arch on the other side.
00:34:21We'll round our drywall and we'll do an effect on it.
00:34:24I like it.
00:34:25I'm glad that we committed to the arches though because now everything looks kind of like Mediterranean sexy.
00:34:31Aren't you happy that I'm your partner?
00:34:34You like that one?
00:34:35I think we're a really good match.
00:34:36I honestly do.
00:34:37You know, you said something that stuck with me.
00:34:39Mm-hmm.
00:34:40You said, I'm here to tell my story.
00:34:43Half of me is like, I can't believe I'm here.
00:34:47I can't believe that design is what I ended up doing.
00:34:49I wonder if like my dad would be proud and be like, this is cool.
00:34:53Because I was never like wanting to take daddy's money.
00:35:00So when I was building my business, I was really building it with like no capital, no help from anybody
00:35:06else.
00:35:06What I think a lot of people don't know is I've never been somebody that worked off my dad's money.
00:35:11Like my parents got me to a certain point.
00:35:14Obviously we had the TV show, but the second that I got Brooke Knows Best, I was off on my
00:35:19own.
00:35:19But then the second TV stopped, I was like, I don't know what I'm doing with my life.
00:35:23And then moved a million times because I didn't know where I belonged.
00:35:27And I finally landed in Nashville and started this design business decorating short-term rentals.
00:35:32And it was really like a struggle in the beginning.
00:35:34There was a time when I thought it was just going to go under because I was like spending more
00:35:38than I was making and didn't have a lot in savings.
00:35:41And I was like, this is either going to make or break me.
00:35:43I actually even waited tables in Nashville at one point.
00:35:45I was working 23 hour days and like living on coffee and protein bars.
00:35:50And then I started loving it and it became something I was really good at and really proud of.
00:35:54And we became one of the top design firms in Nashville.
00:35:57It's interesting.
00:35:58I don't think anybody really understands like what we do because it's in Nashville and it's away from everybody.
00:36:03Half the family's in California, half is in Florida.
00:36:05And it's like, I'm just kind of like the Lone Ranger.
00:36:06I think your journey is just beginning.
00:36:09A lot of twists and turns.
00:36:11You know, I know like you're blazing your own trail, which is wild.
00:36:15I don't know if I'm like dealing with everything great or if I just keep diving into work and that's
00:36:20like what's saving me.
00:36:21I got called to rock the block long before my dad passed, but obviously I didn't tell him that I
00:36:26had it because we weren't talking.
00:36:29But I told my husband, I was like, I wonder, I wonder if my dad would be proud knowing that
00:36:34I'm doing this.
00:36:35You know, I wonder if he was the one that told me to get my real estate license.
00:36:37You've got a talent and I'm sure he would be super proud of you.
00:36:41I hope he is proud.
00:36:48You are a good dad.
00:36:50I can feel the dad energy.
00:36:52Let's cut some arches.
00:36:55Look at how good we're doing.
00:36:56You're doing a great job.
00:36:58Nice.
00:36:59And just like that, you got your dad's mustache.
00:37:03Hey, brother.
00:37:04I like it.
00:37:06All right.
00:37:06Cute.
00:37:06Let's make a barrel ceiling.
00:37:08We really wanted to open up the space without moving like significant structural walls.
00:37:12And I think this is really working, but we're taking out that rotunda.
00:37:15It's not structural, so it's not a super expensive removal.
00:37:18And we actually are making the closet bigger.
00:37:20We're going to keep a little bit of a curve on the wall to bring a little bit of drama
00:37:24and glamour and make it feel very Vegas.
00:37:26So now we've got the super cool curve wall where we'll have like our dressing bar, big mirror, couple sconces.
00:37:32We just got to get the curved drywall up.
00:37:34Just score the lines if you want to go.
00:37:36Oh, Mena, you know I played football for 14 years.
00:37:39I need a knee pad or something down here.
00:37:40Goddamn good knee.
00:37:41Even though it's a small thing where we're taking some of the 90 vertical corners and softening them with rounded
00:37:46edges are just going to be these nice little details that people notice.
00:37:50And not like crazy value on the appraisal, but it's all customizations.
00:37:54And that's going to add a little bit of value here and there.
00:37:57All right.
00:37:58Ooh, that's a nice bend.
00:38:00Everybody loves customization.
00:38:02There's nothing like walking to a home and feeling like your home is totally different than everyone else's.
00:38:06I love it.
00:38:07Gosh, that's a great curve.
00:38:08Makes me think about when I was running track and running around that curve.
00:38:11Now you're bending.
00:38:12Oh, I don't know why I'm thinking about that right now.
00:38:15I don't know.
00:38:19What do you think of the leopard fabric?
00:38:23Does that scream Vegas to you or what?
00:38:25It screams something.
00:38:28Well, I don't know.
00:38:29Yeah, exactly.
00:38:30I don't know.
00:38:31No, I think this with the color that we have on the wall, definitely going to make a statement.
00:38:36Yes.
00:38:36I am so pumped about it.
00:38:40The headboard.
00:38:41It's swanky.
00:38:42It's swanky.
00:38:43It's extra.
00:38:44We are stepping outside of our comfort zone.
00:38:47I have never done a blue room before.
00:38:49I'm a little nervous.
00:38:50This fabric, by the way, was a splurge.
00:38:53I'm not going to tell you how much.
00:38:55Just know it's going to work and it's going to win.
00:38:58Newbie, I'm here.
00:38:59I'm here for you.
00:39:00You're just going to trust me a little bit.
00:39:02Every time she says splurge, I break out in hives.
00:39:05I'm going to my sewing machine.
00:39:07All right.
00:39:08Watch your fingers.
00:39:19The biggest closet I've ever seen in my life.
00:39:22Massive.
00:39:23We'll bring it all, cozy it in with the dark wood.
00:39:26Uh-huh.
00:39:27This is the exact color of your eyes.
00:39:29This is a risk.
00:39:30This is a risk.
00:39:31I think it's awesome.
00:39:33With the pewter and the wood.
00:39:35It's very cute in cigar box.
00:39:37The smoky mirrors.
00:39:38I mean, this is going to be so cool.
00:39:40I feel like in design, I do some risky stuff.
00:39:43Usually, it's just like a wallpaper, a funky wallpaper
00:39:46that might not be for everyone, but I love it.
00:39:49A lot of people don't put the wallpaper on the ceiling
00:39:51because it is an extra expense, but to me,
00:39:54it always feels more finished when the ceiling is papered.
00:39:57This is our first roll, so this is going to run the entire
00:39:59length of the closet, and we only have one shot at this,
00:40:03so we've got to do this just so.
00:40:06The roll comes back around to the front.
00:40:08Okay, you get this.
00:40:10You get this.
00:40:10Here it comes.
00:40:11It's coming forward.
00:40:12Are we good?
00:40:13How do I undo up here?
00:40:15Oh, boy.
00:40:16This is not.
00:40:17This is not going to go well.
00:40:19So I'm going to peel this forward.
00:40:20Is that right?
00:40:21Okay, I'm going.
00:40:22Chels, hold on to it.
00:40:23I'm holding.
00:40:27All right, hold on.
00:40:28This is stuck.
00:40:29Don't panic.
00:40:30You're panicking.
00:40:31One reason why I'm so excited to be here
00:40:33is this does feel like a master class to me.
00:40:35I mean, I've already learned how to wallpaper.
00:40:37Being here, you kind of have to do all the DIY things.
00:40:41So.
00:40:41It's all hands on deck.
00:40:42Yeah.
00:40:43For sure.
00:40:44Looks good.
00:40:45Hey.
00:40:45One, two, three, come on.
00:40:47You want to cancel?
00:40:48Baby, don't wait.
00:40:49Catch this trade.
00:40:51So go down.
00:40:53Go until we get it.
00:40:55Go until we get it.
00:40:56Go until we get it.
00:40:57Ty told us to get dressed up because he's taking us to a big show on the strip tonight.
00:41:02I'm thinking party.
00:41:05I don't know what to expect.
00:41:06I just met Ty.
00:41:07I'm a little nervous.
00:41:10All right, teams, come on in.
00:41:12Welcome.
00:41:13Welcome.
00:41:14This isn't dinner.
00:41:15Well, this is entertainment on the strip.
00:41:18Trust me.
00:41:18And there's no better way to show that than right here at Absinthe, the most amazing live show in Vegas.
00:41:24Yeah.
00:41:27Designers, this is your first design surprise.
00:41:30And I'm here with the man who encompasses all things Vegas, the gazillionaire.
00:41:35All right.
00:41:36Happy to be here.
00:41:37Welcome.
00:41:37And I believe you have a gift for our teams.
00:41:39Let's do this.
00:41:40Let me get my assistant.
00:41:41Wanda, come on out here.
00:41:42All right, here we go.
00:41:43Yes.
00:41:44Oh, now that looks exciting.
00:41:45All right.
00:41:46Hi.
00:41:47Nice, right?
00:41:48So here's the deal.
00:41:48You're going to pick a card, and the card you pick will determine which act you'll see here on my
00:41:52stage.
00:41:52And then that act will correspond with the gift.
00:41:55Oh.
00:41:56You will be judged on how you use these gifts in your designs.
00:42:01Oh, wow, curveball. Here we go.
00:42:03We drew duo Loire.
00:42:05I just have no idea where we're going with this.
00:42:07Do you speak any French?
00:42:09I just know about the cliche, something like that, my ex-girlfriend.
00:42:11What's that mean?
00:42:12This means go to bed.
00:42:14That's all you learn from your ex-girlfriend, about the cliche.
00:42:17Take a card, any card.
00:42:19A call.
00:42:20How fun would that be?
00:42:23We're in Vegas.
00:42:24We are in Vegas.
00:42:26Bring us a winner.
00:42:27Oh, we must be getting a wheel from the unicycle.
00:42:31Yeah.
00:42:31Exactly.
00:42:32Wow.
00:42:33Wow.
00:42:34Which one?
00:42:34Wow.
00:42:35Okay.
00:42:36Sword swallowing.
00:42:38Are we going to have to incorporate swords into our design?
00:42:42Are you ready to go?
00:42:45All right.
00:42:46First up, we've got Swaypo Girls and the Green Fairies.
00:42:49Yay!
00:42:51All right.
00:42:53Okay.
00:42:54Got it.
00:42:54You don't want to miss a detail.
00:42:57Oh.
00:42:59Oh.
00:42:59Oh.
00:43:00Oh.
00:43:00Oh.
00:43:07Oh, my gosh.
00:43:07I can dance it up my brain.
00:43:09Woo!
00:43:10That is incredible.
00:43:11I can dance it up my brain.
00:43:14I can be doing it...
00:43:17Oh, my gosh.
00:43:20Oh, my gosh.
00:43:20Oh, my gosh.
00:43:21Oh, my gosh.
00:43:23Oh, my gosh.
00:43:24The dad in me was like, no.
00:43:25You guys need helmets.
00:43:26Watch your dental work.
00:43:27Woo!
00:43:27This is not safe.
00:43:28Woo!
00:43:29Oh, my God.
00:43:33That looks so fun.
00:43:35Oh, my God.
00:43:38Now, Wanda's going to give you the gift
00:43:39that's your element,
00:43:41the homewarming gift from me to you.
00:43:42All right, can I look?
00:43:43Red Moroccan tile.
00:43:45Be inspired by the red tent,
00:43:47our red stage,
00:43:48and the red rocks that surround our city.
00:43:51That's red, red.
00:43:52We have just mapped out
00:43:54what we want to do in the primary space,
00:43:56and in none of it
00:43:57doesn't incorporate anything
00:43:59to do with Moroccan red tiles.
00:44:02Thanks, gazillionaire, for nothing.
00:44:04All right, next up, we have Duo Loire.
00:44:14Wow!
00:44:16Yes!
00:44:18Woo!
00:44:21Uh-oh. No, no, no.
00:44:24Thanks.
00:44:24Oh, my God, you love it!
00:44:27Oh, my God, I've let down my heart
00:44:31I've taken my heart
00:44:33Wow!
00:44:37Yes!
00:44:38Wow!
00:44:39Wanda, why don't you take the gift on down
00:44:41to our worthy contestants?
00:44:42Okay, okay.
00:44:44Oh, indigo velvet fabric.
00:44:46This deep blue velvet fabric
00:44:49represents Vegas after dark.
00:44:51Rich and luxurious.
00:44:53Blue is not in my color palette.
00:44:55Where are we going to put this?
00:44:56Where we get creativity points,
00:44:57but don't bring too much attention to it.
00:45:01All right, and now it's time for Duo Unicycle!
00:45:05Yeah!
00:45:06Come on down!
00:45:06It's the same song!
00:45:15Oh, my God!
00:45:17Wow!
00:45:19Oh, my God!
00:45:21Oh, my God!
00:45:23Oh, my God!
00:45:25Woo!
00:45:26Wow!
00:45:27Wow.
00:45:28Incredible.
00:45:30Really incredible.
00:45:30Thank you, guys.
00:45:31Well, designers, we got another gift.
00:45:35OK.
00:45:37Chrome Marquee Lights.
00:45:38OK.
00:45:39We invite you to remember the lights of Vegas
00:45:41and bring it to your main suite.
00:45:44Oh.
00:45:45Cool.
00:45:45OK.
00:45:46We can use the lights anywhere, in the bedroom,
00:45:49in the bathroom, in the closet.
00:45:50And now, sword swallower.
00:45:53Yeah!
00:45:55Oh, my God.
00:45:57We all have our eyes closed.
00:45:59I'm literally doing it.
00:46:00No way.
00:46:02No way.
00:46:02No way.
00:46:03No way.
00:46:04No way.
00:46:04Oh, my God.
00:46:07Oh, my God.
00:46:09Oh, my God.
00:46:12Everybody's kind of wondering, like,
00:46:14are you thinking what I'm thinking?
00:46:17I wonder what her dentist says.
00:46:19Oh, my God.
00:46:22Oh, my God.
00:46:27Oh, my God.
00:46:29Oh, my God.
00:46:31Oh, my God.
00:46:32It's elegant.
00:46:32Beautiful.
00:46:35Wanda, you want to go ahead and show them
00:46:37what they've got to work with?
00:46:38Oh, my gosh.
00:46:39OK.
00:46:42Gold leaf wallpaper.
00:46:43Gold leaf and design is a showstopper.
00:46:46It's like the glamour and decadence
00:46:47that Vegas has to offer.
00:46:49You know what?
00:46:49this isn't bad i think we can swallow this one wow designers take your items and turn that chaos
00:46:57into pure design magic
00:47:20we definitely need some time to think about what we're gonna do with the blue fabric that we were
00:47:24gifted at the design surprise so in the meantime vernon and i are doing the base coat for the micro
00:47:31cement that is going to go on the three walls and the ceiling of our steam shower bathtub area
00:47:38what's the difference between this and regular cement pretty much the same as regular concrete but
00:47:43much much finer super unique i feel like the main thing the micro cement is going to do is give
00:47:50us
00:47:50a softness there's no grout lines no veining and then you're going to have these few pretty things
00:47:56the tub color is a nice brown and then the brass tends to have kind of a soft look to
00:48:02it i think
00:48:03they're all just going to like vibe really well together i think everyone's going to pick a really
00:48:06beautiful tile i think their tile is going to be amazing but i think this is going to set us
00:48:10apart
00:48:10a little bit okay and it does kind of like raise that design bar makes it a little bit more
00:48:14elegant
00:48:15like like spa vibes okay and then watch the drain pipe scott oh yeah chelsea and i have this love
00:48:28of
00:48:28old things together and we'll spend a week at a time out at flea markets antique shows and this 1920s
00:48:34fireplace facade that we found at a local antique shop is going to add tons of value to the space
00:48:39because
00:48:40it's like a highly customized feature and it brings personality and creativity to the space
00:48:47i freaking love it we're gonna have to get a gas line to it right we can run one it
00:48:53will just cost
00:48:54okay probably looking in the range of two thousand dollars or something bummer i don't know that we're
00:49:00going to be able to squeeze two thousand dollars out of this budget to run a gas line for this
00:49:09this has already been a very high spend week for us maybe we just do a beautiful setup with levels
00:49:17and lots of candles sounds like that's our only option yes the gas line and real flames would have
00:49:23been cool but i think the important piece is the cast iron facade it's the real beauty it is bringing
00:49:30in
00:49:30such a cool unique piece that no one else is going to have and to me that's adding value
00:49:41we need to figure out the exterior of this place to get it done in time everything needs to be
00:49:51consistent with our modern hacienda true and it's such a wide home we can't just have it all stuck
00:49:58oh yeah it's gonna look like a shopping mall i think some stone maybe on the bump house would
00:50:03be pretty we're in vegas so something light absolutely back stone to the top and then on this side we
00:50:10got this nice bump in here this is where we could do stucco yes maybe we stone the rv garage
00:50:17i really
00:50:18like that that would be so hot how hot would it be scale of one to ten one to scott
00:50:24it's a scott
00:50:26you like that one you never stop surprising me which i appreciate
00:50:37what are you thinking drew when you're thinking about colors for a house i like the darker colors
00:50:42i like the yeah i would love to incorporate like these elements of wood black white we could do wood
00:50:50on the ceiling over the porch wood from that bump out through the corner to the house a light creamy
00:50:56maybe gray in this section i guarantee nobody's gonna do it we're doing no way no chance turkey call
00:51:04it yeah definitely turkey call it neighbors sweet tea time if times get tough you need to know how to
00:51:15call a turkey in so i learned how to do a turkey call sweet tea to me is how us
00:51:20southerners like
00:51:21to extend the olive branch and it's the best way to try to get some gossip oh man that's some
00:51:27good
00:51:27sweet tea give me some leaven just to just to disperse the poison that might be in here okay truly
00:51:33who do
00:51:34y'all think is going to win the primary sweet does everybody feel super confident i feel like it's anyone's
00:51:39game i'd like to say that we're going to win because i'm super competitive i am but these two
00:51:45right here we got to watch these two right here stop clutching your pearls i came in feeling pretty
00:51:55strong but i'm a little nervous right now i get little sneak peeks of everybody working around just
00:51:59being honest because if i lose to any of you i will be so embarrassed it's got word around town
00:52:06of people
00:52:06that talk the most yeah they don't have anything to bring to the table okay wow interesting that's
00:52:12what i heard the louder the talk the harder the font i think that we're the mystery card here
00:52:18i think there's a lot of preconceived notions about our true skill sets even though we haven't been
00:52:24on the block we've definitely been around the block when it comes to design and i think they're
00:52:29underestimating us a little bit well good i like to surprise our neighbors you know what this is nice and
00:52:35everything hey but we gotta get back to work that is a sin what are you doing yeah we're being
00:52:42distracted here there's too many things to do
00:52:51true you tackle it like a boss how do you know how to do all this trial and error you
00:52:56know doing
00:52:57bathrooms for myself and family members and nobody expects the boy band ballroom broadway guy to be the
00:53:03tile guy too we went with this pattern because it really ties in with what we're doing over here on
00:53:09our backsplash with the vanity it's going to be divided nicely everything is keeping true to our
00:53:14design aesthetic which is livable luxe aren't you just a little proud of me for keeping it at a pretty
00:53:22decent budget i do feel good i'm gonna build your trust one challenge at a time okay she's got all
00:53:28these
00:53:29tricks up her sleeve on how we can maximize you know with wall coverings and fixtures and things
00:53:34like that so while we're still trying to figure out exactly our team dynamic i feel like we're our
00:53:39tango we're working well
00:53:46what is this countertop we didn't order bullnose no we didn't order bullnose why is there bullnose on
00:53:51it this is completely ruining the look that we were going for
00:53:59i didn't order this and we have a giant bullnose countertop now it's ugly our order for the
00:54:05countertop was a four inch profile 90 degree turn polished miter which says sophisticated and luxurious
00:54:13what we got is a bullnose which says basic and inexpensive it's a very different countertop
00:54:19i can call the fabricator i can send the notes that we sent and i'll just say you did it
00:54:24wrong now i need
00:54:24a rush job and if they can turn it around in 24 hours we can switch it but it is
00:54:29a risk the challenge
00:54:30with blind judging is that there's no room for explanation the work has to speak for itself and
00:54:36this is not the work that we wanted and it's definitely not saying what we want it to say
00:54:40i can't even look at it it's gonna upset me so much i'm going okay i can't you don't worry
00:54:45about
00:54:45it leave it with me so the main bedroom we're going to do this featured curved headboard wall
00:54:59where we've got beautiful kind of metallic patterned wallpaper and then we'll have a dark wood paneling
00:55:05on the bottom i mean i love the way that this curved detail turned out where this just makes this
00:55:10feel
00:55:11architecturally interesting and built in and not just like an accent wall the way the light hits
00:55:16that metallic part that's stunning it's not too feminine which i was a little concerned with i
00:55:22think it's perfect yeah wow the color of this wood against this wallpaper this is very smoky sexy
00:55:28even though kim has way more experience in the design world than i do i do feel like she relies
00:55:34on my opinion which is such a confidence booster i don't think i'm slowing her down at all and
00:55:41i feel like i'm already starting to grow i mean not only as a person but an interior designer so
00:55:47i'm very happy with how this is turning out this is like our we can at least make some broad
00:56:06decisions
00:56:07about what we want to do out front what are your like general feelings well not too many colors i
00:56:12like to stay grounded maybe two-tone you like light or dark light okay i don't necessarily like flat white
00:56:18but i think like a light color would be nice right and then in our inset add an accent like
00:56:23a medium wood
00:56:24in a different pattern to kind of warm it up what if we brought the wood over to the garage
00:56:28so i think
00:56:29that would work well okay easy peasy let's go what are you thinking for the main body of the exterior
00:56:37i feel like a lot plays into where we are i'm sure there's certain things you can't use in this
00:56:43heat
00:56:43we're looking at probably stone too expensive then we would just do like a really beautiful creamy
00:56:49kind of sandy colored stucco love maybe we just bring in some wood siding details in the soffits on the
00:56:54facial on the columns on the beams warm it up a little i love it i am super duper happy
00:57:06with how
00:57:07these closets are turning out yeah me too so i know we talked about possibly curved cabinets
00:57:13not in the budget would take way too long to customize so doing a curved bench here totally
00:57:19reasonable we can make the bench and then we could probably find someone local to bend us
00:57:24a bar so think like like ballet iraq like if you were going to plan your outfits for the week
00:57:29do
00:57:30you do that you don't play any kind of guy you plan you plan your outfits so we'd have a
00:57:34bench here so
00:57:35think you could have like on the bench your shoes set out for every day of the week and then
00:57:39we have
00:57:39this beautiful bar with like your outfits hung out i thought i knew all about design and renovation
00:57:46but working with amina can show me something totally different today was a combination of algebra
00:57:51precalculus and fine arts protractors you name it the whole nine how are you feeling about our blue
00:57:57fabric blue's not particularly my favorite color it's not mine either but it's very rich it's gonna
00:58:05give us a pop of color in here which i think we need next to our neutral built-ins i
00:58:10feel like putting
00:58:11it on the bench brownie points with the judges i like it okay vernon's been the perfect partner he's
00:58:17been learning a lot getting his hands dirty i think having fun doing it and he's super supportive
00:58:22i overthink everything and if i don't have someone who's like no we got this i will spiral so it's
00:58:29a
00:58:29really nice balance but it's looking pretty good oh yeah for the bedroom we're color drenching from
00:58:35floor to ceiling this space to me is probably the riskiest space i've ever done i've never color drenched
00:58:42before look at that thank you drew this headboard is one of a kind nobody else is going to have
00:58:49it
00:58:49but we are making it all a part of the whole design here with the blue i can't believe we
00:58:55did the blue i'm in love with it i think it looks fantastic talk about layers of luxury right here
00:59:01the pendants the wallpaper the tambour wood and now the headboard it's just adding so much
00:59:09richness which is what someone buying a house at this price point would expect whatever happens
00:59:14with the judges i'm proud of this room should be tight like a glove though pretty dang good honestly
00:59:21we couldn't have gotten something better because it's a slight nod to like old vegas as soon as we
00:59:26won the gold leaf wallpaper i knew exactly where i wanted to use it and i'm thinking barrel ceiling
00:59:31like a little bit of caesar's palace a little bit of las vegas you can do gold ceilings in vegas
00:59:36it's got a bit of a modern hacienda vibe to it agreed and i think if the judges really do
00:59:42take
00:59:42into consideration how well we integrated it is going to be the best i was nervous about how brooke
00:59:47and i would work together but we've been able to find our commonalities and get on the same page
00:59:53we play off of each other's energy we play off of each other's ideas i go too far you reel
00:59:59me in yeah
00:59:59i'm like yeah i love that idea now we can do half of it we're like one plus one equals
01:00:03three over here
01:00:04yes work it lisa vanderpump nick elaine oh wow bold this is vegas baby i think they've messed up on
01:00:15this closet
01:00:37so it's just composite super affordable and it gives us texture
01:00:46and depth yeah it's really interesting that we can just do this make the small changes
01:00:50to elevate the room and now look at it because we're not dramatically changing the footprint of
01:00:55our bedroom we have to bring in some other components to impress the judges so our fireplace
01:01:01huge win other than that we've got a rectangle so it's judges paneling paint colors and lighting
01:01:06those are the things that are the value add it takes it from like and elegant i gotta love this
01:01:11room now first when i walked in i was like oh it's just plain it's kind of box yeah but
01:01:15now oh come on
01:01:20wow this is a dream closet i mean it is floor to ceiling wall to wall pure closet love yes
01:01:28but now
01:01:29we have to address the red moroccan tile i'm thinking you know we'll do this as kind of like
01:01:35the backdrop for what would be our vanity so we'd be able to put these in here
01:01:41tile up this section then we'd be able to place a mirror in here but make it like this really
01:01:46really
01:01:46pretty like focal point so as soon as the judges walk through the door they see this pop of like
01:01:51this
01:01:51rich color that's kind of popped through and then you know we can put in a little bit of like
01:01:54our
01:01:55our brass kind of finishes that we've been talking about you know i gotta tell you it just makes me
01:02:00so happy when you speak like that you have no idea okay all right i think that there's this really
01:02:06fine balance of making the house unique enough but also appealing to a lot of buyers that's what's
01:02:13actually going to add value to the house what do you think oh i'm like really digging it i think
01:02:18this
01:02:18closet is a big surprise you turn that corner and you're like yeah wow
01:02:25what are we doing why i don't know if this is going to be good or if this is going
01:02:30to be bad
01:02:30oh my god but it took everything in my power and a lot of phone calls that bullnose countertop
01:02:42oh my gosh oh my gosh yay we got it how did you get it done oh my baby this
01:02:52is what i wanted that
01:02:54looks way better i could cry it really makes that big of a difference and it looks so good this
01:02:59is a
01:02:59w-i-n win it's all coming together this like makes the closet feel massive huge check this out though
01:03:10so vegas so smoky sexy and i love that those bulbs give that like old marquee feel which works out
01:03:19perfect for our idea uh-huh with the lights from absinthe yeah and when this is literally going to
01:03:25like reflect those across the room we've decided to take the marquee lights and outline the door
01:03:32from our closet into the big garage kind of the hidden door yeah we're gonna put the mirror on it
01:03:39so it's also like a full-length mirror with lighting on it i think the closet's a home run
01:03:51the glass is custom two days late we've got two hours to get our glass shelves and everything in
01:03:58and staged watch the wall oh my god this is the most stressful thing if we can get all this
01:04:05glass in
01:04:06it's going to be a buzzer beater like i've never been so close to the wire we designed a closet
01:04:11to look
01:04:11like a storefront because you're shopping in your own closet who wouldn't want a closet like that
01:04:16especially at this price point in this neighborhood where buyers expect top of the line luxury we have
01:04:22this glass display that is our differentiator so if this doesn't work out we just become like everyone
01:04:28else our ass is glass careful you guys are almost there you guys are good now if you want to
01:04:36put the
01:04:36christmas half inch yep that's it oh thank you god
01:04:46the truck is here
01:04:48go go go go go oh my god
01:04:56tell me that is
01:05:00that's ours yeah that's ours not anymore
01:05:03this is ours
01:05:05it's going hot
01:05:06i'll get it
01:05:06he's trying to start
01:05:07i'll get it
01:05:08oh my god
01:05:11stay playing
01:05:12today is judgment day and i think our house is in a really good spot one of vernon's concerns was
01:05:19that the bedroom felt small but it looks and feels so much bigger and the bathroom is just this
01:05:26amazing glamorous spa retreat i think we have a chance to really win this 30 minutes before the
01:05:32judges come
01:05:34i'm feeling really confident about our main suite the whole theme of making it look like a storefront
01:05:39retail closet we deliver we have less than 20 minutes hurry no time for us this is the week
01:05:46we want to win so nice let's go it's so nice go
01:05:53i think the greatest risk we're taking is the layout of the bathroom with the tub being front
01:05:59and center and the cigar box closet of course it's very different do the judges like that or
01:06:05does it totally freak them out come on come on come on come on come on we have six minutes
01:06:10i feel
01:06:11like we did everything we could in that primary suite in fact more so because we pushed ourselves
01:06:16way out of our comfort zone we went bold with color choices so winning would be the greatest push
01:06:24for us to keep going all right you get that side i'll get this side i'll get the rest of
01:06:30the stuff
01:06:33we ain't got much time oh my goodness let's go
01:07:01we're so honored to have you guys here on the block we are very happy to be here absolutely
01:07:07see what you've got in store for lisa vanderpump is an award-winning television icon and world-renowned
01:07:14restaurateur her longtime collaborator nick elaine is a globally recognized designer and together
01:07:20they're bringing their signature glamour to the upcoming vanderpump hotel on the las vegas strip
01:07:27so it's week one and you'll be judging the main suite blind meaning you won't know who designed which
01:07:34house what's the most important aspect of this you're looking for overall design added value and
01:07:40creativity you'll also take into consideration how well they use the design surprise elements
01:07:45they received at the vegas extravaganza absence well nick and i we know about timelines are they
01:07:52feeling the pressure oh they're definitely feeling the pressure here on the block are you guys ready
01:07:55yes ready so you're going to start your tour with this house right here let's do it all right good
01:08:02luck okay okay okay let's see this puppy oh
01:08:13okay let's see this wow oh okay i'm quite impressed
01:08:24it feels very comforting wall the wallpaper i don't think that it's that safe a choice
01:08:33for selling a home it's a very personal look for sure specific and not everybody's gonna love it
01:08:39i do like the curve on this do you it's fantastic yeah it brings you in gives you a hug
01:08:44let's see the
01:08:45card's smokey sexy i'm feeling smoky sexy i get it yep what do you think of the desk you like
01:08:51the
01:08:51height the height is unusual the height of it i do think it adds quite a bit yeah it accomplishes
01:08:57what you want in a bedroom this is unusual huh it is i don't like that it feels a little
01:09:02like you're
01:09:02camping uh-huh yeah okay let's go into the closet wow okay this is pretty nice
01:09:20bold choice for the wallpaper though i do like it though i'm not sure that i really like the green
01:09:27in here i normally prefer white in a closet because there's so many colors with clothing and stuff the
01:09:33closet is almost same size as the bedroom which i think that often sells the house and there's your
01:09:38marquee lights there they are all right that's a good use for them wasn't there a door oh oh wow
01:09:46this is great i do like this yeah they've made some very interesting choices should we go and see
01:09:51the bathroom yes please okay bathroom oh oh
01:10:02they've changed the layout of the bathroom oh i love that you walk right into the tub i love a
01:10:08bath
01:10:08tub i do so much you want to get in favorite pieces for sure now that with the fireplace right
01:10:14i like that actually i so want to turn the water off if you do i swear it'd be the
01:10:19last thing you do
01:10:21that's great i do like this architectural element as well they brought an antique in that's beautiful
01:10:27yeah that is nice no i don't trust you my ass is wet though good size shower but you know
01:10:34what i like
01:10:35about this i like the separation right he can have his messy side over there and mine be perfect yeah
01:10:40his
01:10:40and hers this is fantastic yeah the mirrors over the windows over the window it's always good light
01:10:45are you ready to move on to the next house let's do it
01:10:49all right well this is already different
01:10:56oh this feels very different serene
01:11:12i love yeah when you first walked in yeah you didn't walk into something you just kind of it
01:11:18brought you in this definitely feels ethereal ah there you go comfortable elegance picture frame
01:11:27molding which i like i like the detail on the wall it brings depth and movement to the bedroom and
01:11:33everybody likes a bit of movement in the bedroom right what they did to accentuate the walls and bring
01:11:39those lines up with the molding and everything just makes it feel like the ceilings are two feet higher
01:11:44come on just try it wow okay oh look i like this double-sided water vapor fireplace there you go
01:11:52what
01:11:52a great feeling in there absolutely i'm excited to see what's on the other side so let's see
01:11:59wow
01:12:06there you go you can get a bigger shower and bath something that i like the micro cement finish
01:12:11in the shower i do if you tiled it it would get too much right so that's a great choice
01:12:16i think
01:12:17i like the double-sided fireplace yeah it gives us continuity what do you think of that transparent tub
01:12:23that's quite a statement as well beautiful i do think that you need a lot more counter space right
01:12:31work is the closet this has to be it another secret door what is it with these people
01:12:36what is that oh that is the closet door oh well i know where this is going
01:12:49um i think they've messed up on this closet there's some mistakes here
01:12:57there's some mistakes here the closet's small i don't know that this closet is big enough for
01:13:05oh my god this is the blue velvet bench in the closet i do like it very much
01:13:13yeah but there was a big waste of space there for me i feel that they missed an opportunity if
01:13:20this
01:13:20was all cupboards here it'd feel a lot more generous there's not that much i see the challenge though
01:13:26with that curved wall walking in you're given this amazing entrance but it kills your closet so which
01:13:32one do you go for yeah let's go and see the next color
01:13:44color
01:13:59nice oh i'm liking the feel i love that they brought wall color into the ceiling
01:14:04livable luxe yes i see it and i love dark rooms blue is not my color if you're a blue
01:14:12person you
01:14:13love it if not you're in trouble but this i think is really beautiful and i think the fabric and
01:14:18the
01:14:18headboard i love that i like the two-tone i think here if they'd had some kind of beautiful cabinet
01:14:25i think you'd feel a lot better about it right a little bigger and a nightstand to match that would
01:14:30be fantastic can we have a look at the bathroom wow okay this is very interesting for sure
01:14:53i love there's no glass in here to deal with
01:14:57i think this works very well actually yeah so they've got french doors here i like that
01:15:03and i do love the fact that now you'll be able to open up go out into a little courtyard
01:15:07out here
01:15:08okay so we've got a lot of storage here yep absolutely i like that it's something i wouldn't
01:15:13have thought of doing and i like it though what do you think of this backsplash it's nice yeah the
01:15:18whole thing seems to flow very well i like the fact that they are taking chances let's have a look
01:15:23at the closet all right let's see what's happening here don't tell me they've got a small closet oh
01:15:41oh i like it okay there we go oh now that makes a movie difference for sure i'm liking this
01:15:48so there's a lot more space in here they have room for like a quarter of your shoes maybe an
01:15:53eighth
01:15:54don't drag me into this look at this this is the red tile oh the red tile that was pretty
01:15:59clever we
01:16:00have a space for long dresses coats long hanging which we didn't have in the last space and you need
01:16:06it i like this i feel good about it we've still got another one to go on to the last
01:16:10house let's do it
01:16:11all right are you ready i'm ready holy cow what's going on here
01:16:34oh this is made for me this is vegas baby
01:16:42this feels great this feels modern it feels airy it feels bright right the glass wall changes everything
01:16:50you don't feel so confined i really like this idea this is fantastic look at this
01:16:58biggest island out of all of them what do you think about this arch ceiling and how they've
01:17:03utilized the gold i think it's fantastic nice detail there absolutely oh okay
01:17:17i like it let's look at the card so this is modern okay i like the tray ceiling do you
01:17:27i do i love
01:17:28that interesting and at night it's probably a great glow yeah i like the fireplace the only thing
01:17:34i'm not crazy about is the finish on the cupboards it feels a little rough yeah it does feel a
01:17:42little
01:17:42rough should we look in the bathroom yeah yeah absolutely oh yes oh look at this
01:18:01oh look at the white glass this is a great option to have a little sauna this is everything oh
01:18:09i would
01:18:10kill for one of these added value is quite a bit i bet great use of glass okay we haven't
01:18:16even talked
01:18:17about this look i like this this feels kind of separate i don't think i've ever seen this i love
01:18:22it this little bit of green olive it's gorgeous it's missing that storage in the center though that
01:18:27that other space had which really cleaned it up why did they not maximize that when they got the depth
01:18:33and they could they could have easily done that yeah
01:18:38okay let's discuss okay best closet okay best closet for me is this
01:18:45bedroom bedroom you like comfortable elegance i do i like the light and i feel that that is so
01:18:53important when you're trying to sell something which bathroom did you like best obviously i love
01:18:59the bathroom with the massive shower in it you mean the liverpool luxe right okay but if you had to
01:19:05pick one which one do you think this is the one that seduces me the whole thing
01:19:15it's the moment you've all been waiting for it's about time are you ready to meet this week's main
01:19:24suite judges bring them all yes yes our two judges this week bring extensive experience two judges and
01:19:32they're accomplished designers of everything from celebrity residences to high-end restaurants luxury
01:19:39hotels and even a yacht swanky who is it and one of them also happens to be a pop culture
01:19:48icon
01:19:48oh what please welcome lisa vanderpump and nick elaine
01:19:56oh wow yeah lisa lisa
01:20:00we are very excited to see them both and crap she fancy he's fancy i'm a little worried that we
01:20:08might not have taken big enough swings for their personal style so i believe you started with our
01:20:13smoky sexy house smoky sexy which belongs to of kim and chelsea you certainly achieved smoky sexy
01:20:21one of the things i really loved about your space was your wrapped wall it really gave me a big
01:20:26hug when i
01:20:27came in which you want for a bedroom some of the choices were really bold i mean it could go
01:20:33either
01:20:33way but i did feel that the bold choice on the wallpaper not everybody's gonna love it the closet
01:20:40was definitely big enough for lisa vanderpump that's saying something yeah good job on the closet i liked
01:20:46the use of the marquee lights and the hidden door and i love the antique details in the bathroom thank
01:20:51the next house you guys toured was comfortable elegance yes that's mina and vernon we definitely
01:20:59like the bedroom very much and that curved wall walking in very inviting that felt really beautiful
01:21:05i also like the fireplace i thought that was really innovative i felt like your place had the highest
01:21:11ceilings even though they're all the same for some reason your place just felt like the highest
01:21:15ceilings took it up mina says vernon's eyes that was impressive i didn't think that you made the best
01:21:23use of the closet space with the blue velvet bench on the curb it took up a lot of the
01:21:29closet the
01:21:30beautiful detail of walking in on that curved wall it worked when you walk in it worked against you when
01:21:35you were in the closet i think yeah so i believe the next house you guys toured was livable luxury
01:21:40which
01:21:41belongs to tanya and drew i was overwhelmed by the blue i felt it was a little strong for my
01:21:48choice
01:21:49not everybody's gonna love it nick particularly likes dark rooms so it kind of was a little push
01:21:54and pull between us on that factor i did i loved it the dark room was fantastic it felt like
01:21:59a room you
01:22:00wanted to hang out in i love how you went into the ceiling with the same color also i like
01:22:05the fact
01:22:05that you used the moroccan tile i thought that was really well done that looked really good great use
01:22:10and but i mean the bathroom yeah the bathroom was great we loved the doors leading out to the
01:22:18bathroom that made it feel really special and the open shower it was really beautifully done great job
01:22:25thank you thanks okay and then finally that leaves scott and brooks modern hacienda yes as i walked in
01:22:32i got that wow factor yes i still get goosebumps thinking about it now it was such an impact the
01:22:41closet the glass wall the natural light coming through to me that was very impressive yep never
01:22:47seen it before great idea thank you it was good use of the gold leaf it was a nice transition
01:22:52between
01:22:53the closet and the bathroom and i really liked the adventurous design you had with the sauna and with
01:23:00the shower i thought that was all very clever i think the bedroom was sophisticated but not quite
01:23:07sure about the rustic cabinets it felt a little too rustic for me thank you lisa nick thank you guys
01:23:14so
01:23:14much this is a huge honor to have you guys here thank you thank you now it's coming down to
01:23:21that moment
01:23:21what at stake each week is three thousand dollars thanks to the wells fargo active cash credit card
01:23:28this season the winners each week have a choice use the three thousand dollars toward your designs next
01:23:34week or add one thousand dollars to your final appraisal at the end the bets are in the cards are
01:23:42down
01:23:42let's see who takes the pot the winner of the rock the block main suite challenge is
01:24:08we might be the unlikely match up here but we've found a rhythm we've got the first win under our
01:24:14belt team scott and brooke modern hacienda still undefeated
01:24:21you really came through don't make me cry you did you came through like crazy seeing the standard
01:24:28of what you've brought to this equation it really impressed me as a designer i love what i do and
01:24:35it
01:24:35felt like all the work and all of the things that i've been doing in the shadows it kind of
01:24:40just made me
01:24:41feel a little bit like like i have something still left you have so this is just the beginning i
01:24:47think
01:24:47that's what you need to realize yeah now it's time for some strategy so will you choose to take the
01:24:52three thousand dollars or add one thousand dollars to your final appraisal we're taking money come get
01:24:59your money three thousand dollars don't give it to her don't give it to her it's annoying that scott won
01:25:06scott is just so smug and so happy with himself hold on everybody smell that money wow wow somebody
01:25:15get this guy out of here you can't show off when you win he was flashing the money at the
01:25:19end i'm like
01:25:20dude look it's not how you start it's how you finish the future is bright for us as long as
01:25:24we stay the

01:25:59sneaky that's how we won survivor we're going to be able to prove that we can rock the block we're
01:26:04unstoppable we're going to go big and do things that no one ever done before that is gorgeous i never
