00:00Higgins to you yesterday, 13 minutes, he had an assist, how'd he look to you?
00:06Pretty good, pretty good, he was on the line with Minton and Husadinov, so three very young
00:12players, three guys that can really skate, they can be creative, there were some plays
00:16to be made, I thought in the first period that they were just a little bit off on, but
00:20you know, they had some good speed, and you know, they certainly didn't hurt the Bruins
00:28when they were out there, you know, Minton's a good player, and Husadinov has proven to
00:31be a fun player to watch, so Higgins fit right in, he did some good things, he was pretty
00:37good on the wall, you know, when pucks came around to him, you know, because he's playing
00:41the wings, so when pucks came around to him for breakouts, things like that, his assist
00:45came in a kind of a one-on-one battle in the corner, where he kind of kicked the puck
00:49to
00:49Corali, and ended up in the back of the net on Yoki Haru's shot, so it's, it was, you
00:56know, it, it wasn't crazy good, but it was good, so, um, like, a really solid start for
01:03him.
01:03You obviously remember your first NHL game, what, what was this, did you, did you, was
01:09your first game like the first game of the season, or did you come up during the course
01:13of a season?
01:14No, I came up during the course of a season, it was late, it was, uh, really late in the
01:19season, there weren't many games left, and, um, it was my rookie year, uh, but the team,
01:23the team was really good, um, the Bruins were.
01:26Okay, so it's sort of the same, as a really good Bruins team, but a play, let's just say
01:30similar in that they were playoff team.
01:32They were clinched.
01:32Yeah, yeah.
01:33Yes, they were clinched.
01:34All right, so what, how big a difference was that for you, could, based on the competition
01:40that you had been playing, was it, like, overwhelming at first, or how did it feel to be out there
01:46the first time in terms of the skill level around you?
01:50Well, I mean, you're looking around, and, you know, there's, you know, there's, there's
01:54Neely, and there's Bork, and there's, you know, I mean, there's some, uh, some pretty
01:58big names around you, so it's kind of hard not to be a little bit, um, I don't know if
02:02intimidated is the right word, but, you know, in awe, right, so, um, but I had had the benefit
02:07of a full season down in the American Hockey League, I had had the benefit of, you know,
02:12four years of college, so I was a little bit older, and I wasn't a first, you know, I
02:16wasn't a seventh overall pick, I was a pretty late pick, so, um, it, it, you know, it was
02:22a little, it's a little bit different for me, and the, you know, they told him, you know,
02:27you tell the guy, like, you know, there's no pressure, play, you're here for a reason,
02:32you know, play the game the way you know how to play the game, and, you know, we'll work
02:35on all the little things afterwards, you know, he, he had an understanding of the system
02:39because he's played it down in Providence for a handful of games, uh, but this is a whirlwind
02:44for him, right, I mean, he's been, you know, you, you play on BC, you play in the World
02:48Juniors, you play in Providence, now you're playing in Boston, you know, four different
02:52teams in one season, that's, that's a lot, so there's, you know, there's a lot to kind
02:56of process for him, but I thought he handled it really well.
