00:03My name is Keir Gaines. I am a licensed therapist. I'm a husband. I'm a father. I'm a content creator
00:09and I'm a professional speaker. Some of my earliest childhood experiences were around not having money. So one of the
00:18things that sparked my financial literacy is a mix of not having the money to do the things that I
00:24wanted and not having the money to get the things that I needed.
00:27I used to take all of my money that I made from my jobs and I stuff it in a
00:31remote control car. I opened my first account. That was the first step of me being able to marry the
00:35idea of stability and finance. One of the things that I want to leave for my kids is just a
00:41different money philosophy. Money is the tool, but money isn't the end goal.
00:47One piece of advice that I have is take your time and give yourself grace when it comes to learning
00:53about money and financial literacy. Finance can be very complicated, but it doesn't have to be. But you're allowed to
01:00ask them to slow down so that you can understand the information that's being given to you.
