00:00Joe, did you have a landing spot in mind?
00:04You can't give him to an NFC contender.
00:07It's got to be an AFC team.
00:09But you have to get something back, Kevin.
00:13I understand he's been a locker room problem, and I get that.
00:18You want a guy that wants to win championships, keep his mouth shut,
00:22but you still want a guy that warrants a double team.
00:25And what we discussed in the break of having Wicks draft in a player,
00:30let's say, like Lemon or Concepcion in the later 23rd selection,
00:36you have a similar wide receiver core to what Green Bay had with Jordan Love.
00:41You're not going to have a clear-cut number one.
00:43You're going to have smaller wide receivers that can't match up
00:47in red zone type of situations.
00:49You're going to have to rely on the tight end solely for those type of opportunities.
00:54And, again, I just think that's a significant disadvantage
00:59to what they have from an offensive philosophy now.
01:02Now, I understand last year was completely different than when Kellen Moore was the OC,
01:08and hopefully it reverts back similar this year.
01:12But at the end of the day, you still need a player that's a pure number one
01:17to elevate this team.
01:18If they're going to rely on a rookie coming in, that's a huge problem for Philadelphia.
01:24I'm sorry.
01:25It just is.
01:26Look at the teams in the division.
01:28Why is Devonta Smith, you don't trust Devonta Smith to be the number one wide receiver
01:32for the Philadelphia Eagles?
01:35I think Devonta Smith is a great wide receiver.
01:39But, again, I don't think he could be a pure number one.
01:44I think, again, he's a complementary piece because of his size.
01:49Again, I'm just saying.
01:52Let me just say, I think it is totally fine, fair, to hold that opinion, okay?
01:59But Devonta Smith was selected in the top 10.
02:05Devonta Smith has been paid like a top 16 wide receiver in football.
02:12He's had three 1,000-yard seasons under his belt, and if it wasn't for health,
02:19probably would be at four.
02:20I mean, he nearly would have it in every single year so far of his young career,
02:24really all things considered.
02:26He and Joe, I mean, the opportunities for Devonta Smith, you could argue,
02:33are a bit limited due to circumstance.
02:36I think that, again, I have no problem with you questioning if Devonta Smith can do it,
02:44but I would argue very strongly that I think Philly asking him to
02:51and Philly expecting him to is totally logical based on the way their roster is set up.
02:57No, understood, and I agree with that assessment, Kevin, but let me flip it on you.
03:03And before you jump down my throat, I want you to listen,
03:08because obviously Tyreek was a different player, right?
03:12Tyreek wasn't 6'2", 225 pounds like A.J., but he was that pure number one for speed.
03:18But when Hill was out of that lineup, did Jalen Waddell take the team on his shoulders?
03:25Was he that guy?
03:27He had 900 yards.
03:28He was, at times, inconsistent, and I understand injuries,
03:33but it's a similar type of situation.
03:35Waddell and Devonta Smith, in my opinion, are similar types of players.
03:41They're complementary.
03:42They're really good wide receivers, but are they pure number ones?
03:49I, again, I think, you know what, though, Joe, and again, it's totally fine.
03:54You are different and maybe correct in that, Joe, there are 32 teams.
04:00You think there are like six pure number ones, right?
04:04Let's be real.
04:05Chase, Jefferson, Lamb, how many?
04:11Maybe JSN, Puka, any others?
04:15Like, pure number ones, Joe.
04:18Like, there's not that for you.
04:20There's not that many, right?
04:22Maybe you view A.J. Brown as one, the size that he brings to the table.
04:27Neighbors, if he gets healthy, we'll see how it looks, right?
04:30But you're not, at the end of the day, there's 32 teams, right?
04:35And, yes, Devonta Smith, now, not every team has a number one wide receiver, but I think there's 16 number
04:44ones, right?
04:47You know, Garrett Wilson comes to mind.
04:51You know, can Devonta Smith be Terry?
04:55Well, I was just going to bring up Terry McLaurin.
04:56I think Devonta Smith's better than Terry McLaurin.
04:58I do.
04:59We can disagree on that.
05:00But Washington's number one wide receiver, again, is supposed to be Terry McLaurin.
