00:00Ah, ah, ah, ah.
00:02What's that song?
00:04Current Affairs.
00:04Current Affairs.
00:05That's the one.
00:12You're finding me in Studio 8H here at Saturday Night Live.
00:17I'm feeling good.
00:18I have a really long day ahead, but I'm enjoying every second of it.
00:22I'm feeling really good.
00:22I did grow up watching SNL.
00:24Like, my first memory was, I think, when I was, like, 11 or 12,
00:28and my parents would finally kind of let me stay up on a Saturday,
00:31and I would just kind of doze in and out
00:33watching, like, Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler and stuff like that.
00:37I auditioned for the 50th and got very close,
00:42and then things didn't work out,
00:45and I remember, like, looking at myself
00:46in the reflection of a J crew or something
00:51and being like, I didn't get it.
00:52Like, what's going to happen now?
00:54And then I had a great year with other things,
00:56so I auditioned again one more time.
00:58This year, it was meant to be, I think,
01:01but I needed that year to kind of be okay with the yes or the no,
01:06and that my life would end up how it's supposed to.
01:08I would define this moment in my career as uncomfortable,
01:12and that doesn't mean bad.
01:14I think it's just challenging in ways,
01:17and I'm growing a lot in ways as a person and as an artist,
01:22and it's very transitional, I think, but I'm enjoying it.
01:28The comedy landscape of today is ironic,
01:32but I think we've kind of gone maybe too far in that direction,
01:36and now we're, like, craving earnesty,
01:38so I think earnest comedy is coming back,
01:41and maybe that's the future of comedy.
01:44And cringe, I think embracing failure is super in comedy.
01:50Which actors or comedians were influential growing up?
01:54Jack Black, specifically the movie Nacho Libre.
01:57Big one for me.
01:58Kristen Wiig, of course.
02:00But then also, like, I loved, like, Picnic Face,
02:02which was this, like, Canadian group, SCTV.
02:06If you weren't working in comedy,
02:08what else could you see yourself doing?
02:10I worked as a baker in Toronto,
02:12and I really liked baking.
02:16I don't know. What else? What else?
02:17My mom owns a bridal store in Canada,
02:20so maybe I'd be working there.
02:23I'm really not good at anything else.
02:27So I don't know about that.
02:29What are you listening to right now?
02:30Oh, my God. Um...
02:33I'm listening to, like, OK, Lou.
02:35What's that song?

02:37Was it, uh...
02:39What's that one? By Lorde?

02:47Current Affairs. That's the one.
02:49What are you consuming online?
02:50Pinterest.
02:53As someone who's trying to be off my phone a little bit,
02:56like, the least harmful app...
02:58That's a good answer.
03:00What are you wearing now?
03:02Talia Byer I really like.
03:04Ashley Williams.
03:05Sandy Liang, of course.
03:07What are you obsessed with now?
03:09I don't want to be too earnest,
03:10but I guess being present and enjoying my life.
03:15I'm very present,
03:16because I think that this job is all about...
03:18Every single moment is about being present,
03:20so I'm very present.
03:21I really am loving my life.
03:23I'm really living the dream,
03:25and I'm really grateful,
03:26and I'm grateful for my friends and family,
03:28and I'm really...
03:29I'm really just loving my life.
