00:03Wow oh my god families across Australia are drowning in clutter this is what we
00:14took out of your house all of them are desperate for help clutter is anything
00:23that gets between you and the life you want to live Peter Walsh frees them from the stuff holding
00:31them back yes while Cherie Barber renovates their homes in record time and Angie Kent
00:41brings much loved treasures back to life it gives me goosebumps oh that's so good
00:49oh wow it's the greatest oh my god transformation amazing of their lives
01:09Ange Marlon and their kids 19 year old Ashley 16 year old Bella and 13 year old Cameron
01:16have always loved getting out and about and having fun and for nearly two decades
01:23and she's been happy to run the family's busy lives I love my mum she's very funny
01:30outgoing and vibrant person she does so much for all of us she like handles like
01:37the bills she does the grocery shopping but while the stay-at-home mum was able to
01:42keep on top of things when the kids were little when she went back to work the household quickly
01:50spiraled there's just like piles of like stuff everywhere it's pretty frustrating because
01:59everywhere you go this clutter you're stepping over things or you have to move a whole hope of
02:05things to get to other things the clutter makes me feel ashamed and I just can't keep the house
02:11clean by myself I've had back issues so I struggle like if I can get into a pile but 10
02:1715 minutes in
02:17my back's seizing up on me I work my shifts it's long hours I don't get home till 7 in
02:23the morning so
02:24I try to do as much as I can Marlon says it's not really his stuff but he doesn't actually
02:31sort of
02:31help pick it up and the kids are all old enough to do chores and things and just don't step
02:35in
02:36everyone kind of shoves it off and says oh well that's not my responsibility I just can't cope
02:42anymore my kids and my husband need to step up to help out around this house
02:55keeping a home clutter free is a team effort and when that breaks down chaos takes over and
03:01for Ange and her family it's led to a blame game that's gotten so out of control they
03:06desperately need us to step in to help them out
03:15hello hey Marlon Ange how you doing may we come in please do okay let's go
03:31here comes the rest of the team great to see you tell us what we're looking at in this room
03:36um this
03:38was the cleanest room it's just become now over cluttered from when I went full-time and yeah this
03:43is what we've ended up with so how long ago did you start working full-time two years and it's
03:48just built up and I have a bad back so I can't tackle it on my own anymore Marlon how
03:54much of
03:54this is your stuff give us give us a percentage he'd say zero five percent five percent how much the
04:01three
04:02kids probably about fifteen percent each okay so that leaves fifty percent is your wives so what
04:08you're telling us maybe I could be in trouble for that I would say so Bella what are you thinking
04:13well I think it's not mine but okay so now it's down to zero percent Cameron what do you think's
04:20going on here I think it's mostly all of theirs but me wow that's a big call Ashley I think
04:26that a
04:26lot of this is my stuff okay and also my mum's as well but I definitely do think there's more
04:32than
04:32zero things of Cameron's in here so is this a lot about pointing fingers this is yours this is mine
04:38it's your turn you do it I won't do it Ashley what's gone wrong no one's taking responsibility
04:46everyone's just saying oh it's someone else's responsibility not mine yeah and it can't be
04:51comfortable to be in this room well yeah I don't really like coming out here that much anymore
04:56like I just stay in my room because I keep it clean in my room but yeah there's just so
05:02much
05:02stuff out here yeah I'm noticing no storage so your whole life is on display here no wonder but the
05:09big
05:09elephant for me in the room that I'm seeing is this massive couch that you've got it's actually
05:14breaking the room into two and that little section over there I can see a dining table but I presume
05:20you
05:20don't ever sit and eat your meals there right when was the last time you sat as a family at
05:25that
05:25table like five years ago and it would be so nice for you guys to come together because you're such
05:30a
05:30beautiful family you seem very disconnected and I'm looking around lots of lovely little baby photos
05:37but do we ever have any family photos together nope not at all so listen I also notice there's more
05:43clutter back through here Marlon and let's go let's check it out whoa wow not a single flat surface is
05:57clear in here no it's not functional if one of us is cooking it's hard for someone else to even
06:03get
06:03past and help out and do stuff got it what do you want in this space my fridge and pantry
06:11and more
06:11bench space to prepare got it so you want a functional working kitchen while the poor layout
06:17and lack of storage have contributed to this mess it's clear to me now that no one has stepped up
06:23to
06:23look after the communal spaces in this home and I fear it's going to be just as cluttered in the
06:29adjoining room Wow there's a lot of stuff isn't there yes what is this space supposed to be the
06:39kids used to be able to play some video games or watch videos and stuff okay here but it just
06:45doesn't
06:45get used anymore I tried to bring these in to use for storage but they're this overflow it's not really
06:55about not enough space is it it's really about too much stuff yeah way too much yeah yep help me
07:04work
07:04out and you hate the clutter you want the clutter out but a lot of the stuff is yours I
07:15don't like to
07:15waste money sometimes it's like can we sell these or can we pass it on to someone else but Marlon
07:21what's it costing you and your family happiness no space for their kids okay and I think that yeah
07:30I feel the shame of it and I think and I think that's their attitude too that it's mum's fault
07:36it's a mum's job to clean the house and keep it tidy so I feel like yeah it's all sort
07:43of falling on to
07:46me what is it that you want just a clean happy space okay for us to hang out just a
07:55place where
07:55we can be a family again got it okay so we can turn this around however it's going to take
08:01some hard
08:02work it's going to take commitment from the whole family yeah you up for that yes okay grab something
08:08let's get started to declutter and renovate the family's home everything must be packed up and
08:19loaded into waiting removalist fans take one of these blankets wrap them make sure then in transit
08:27they're kept in great condition okay thank you
08:34I feel just insane watching all the stuff come out of the house and I'm very nervous for sorting
08:42through everything mum loves to keep stuff so I think she's gonna have the most difficult time
08:50letting go of things I know the job ahead is going to be emotional and hard but I'm hoping all
08:57the finger
08:57pointing sort of stops and we can get back on track as a family coming up as the renovation strikes
09:07trouble facing the clutter brings the family to tears thousands of items are being removed from
09:23Ange Marlon and their kids Bella Cameron and Ashley's place after mum Ange went back to work and clutter
09:30took over the household causing conflict to erupt over who's responsible
09:38as the kitchen and the kids playroom are emptied in the living room Angie makes a discovery
09:45wow it's rare to find silver plated trophies like this anymore as new ones are worth thousands of
09:52dollars but I reckon this old photo is a bit of a clue to where the trophy came from and
09:59while I can see
10:00other old photos around the house I haven't spotted any of the family together but I have
10:05found their overloaded keyring holder which has given me an exciting idea on how to fix all of that
10:15with the last room cleared out and the trucks and vans filled to capacity
10:21the contents are transported to the space invaders warehouse
10:28where everything's laid out and sorted into categories
10:32ready for Ange Marlon and their kids to decide what to keep or donate
10:38this family is stuck in a cycle of blame with each of them claiming the clutter is not their fault
10:44but
10:44someone else's so it's time to show them the uncomfortable truth that in this household it's
10:50everyone's responsibility when we came to your home the place was overrun with clutter on the count of
10:59three I want you to open your eyes and check out just how much stuff there was one two three
11:07open your eyes
11:18that's more you should be able to fit in a whole house
11:24let me show you guys what you have here here we go on this table here we have a whole
11:30lot of craft stuff
11:31here we have toys games and electronics oh my god we have a ton of media here we have linen
11:37and a
11:38whole lot of clothes on these three long tables are items that came out of your kitchen this is
11:46crazy absolutely crazy including 275 plastic food storage containers a record I wouldn't be celebrating too
11:59quickly to get all of this from your home to the hall took two hundred and two moving boxes a
12:08huge
12:09number it's just a lot looking around the room I go back to the question when you asked us what
12:18percentage of the clutter is for each of us nothing probably undersold a little bit on myself and some
12:25of the kids contributed not just Ange okay unless you get rid of 70% you will not be able
12:34to create the kind of home and
12:36family relaxation that you're looking for okay we're getting started come with me let's go okay
12:46with the clutter gone from the house Cherie and her team can get started with just two days in a
12:54limited budget they've got to transform the chaotic living and dining room into a welcoming space for
13:00the family to spend time together make over the old kids playroom into a modern teenage retreat
13:06and overhaul the dysfunctional kitchen this dated and difficult to use kitchen desperately needs a
13:14redesign to bring in the fridge that was stuck way over in the kids playroom so we're ripping out a
13:22section of the old cabinets to make space opposite the stove this move will create a golden triangle
13:28which is a great kitchen layout principle connecting the fridge sink and stove within easy reach of each
13:35other the new layout means the old bench tops have got to go but otherwise I want to reuse what's
13:42still working to save on costs next Cherie needs to replace the dated window furnishings in the living and
13:49dining room this big window here fronts the street so it's got a real privacy issue what would you
13:55recommend there so you can do some of these venetian blinds something you can tilt that allows light
14:01coming in but also gives you the privacy during the day okay that sounds good I'd love to add some
14:05fullness to the room as well maybe a curtain yeah something like this has a little bit of a texture
14:10to it with the acrylic backing yeah I really like that
14:18back in the kitchen
14:19watch out for the tile removing the old range hood that's no longer working is proving difficult
14:26if we smash those tiles we're in trouble
14:30oh was that a tile that just dropped I was counting on not having to replace these tiles
14:36but a broken one is a big eyesore that could mean a lot more work and a huge delay
14:42oh shattered in a million pieces
14:48these are nice colors
14:49I already have a
14:51keep them for next year
14:52back at the warehouse
14:54yes keep that one
14:55the family are trying to reduce the clutter that was clogging up the kids old playroom
15:00keep that that's sentimental
15:01okay keep
15:03already I'm worried Angie's pushing her kids to keep more than they should
15:08whose shoes are they?
15:10Cameron's first pair of shoes
15:12are you keeping those?
15:13yep
15:15yep keep those
15:16okay
15:17and now I can see Ashley's also struggling to let things go
15:21these are all my gymnastics trophies
15:24okay so do you have room in your bedroom for these?
15:27maybe for a few of them
15:29okay
15:29which of these has the strongest memory for you?
15:33this was like the first major what I won
15:35and I won gymnast of the year for my whole club
15:38get out of here
15:39this straight away is a super important trophy
15:42yeah
15:43and then I guess this one was the first trophy I ever got
15:47okay
15:53you only have limited space
15:55and this is what being an adult means
15:57you have to start making informed choices
16:01or else
16:02look
16:07yeah
16:08I don't know
16:11and are you feeling a bit sad right now?
16:13yeah
16:13talk to us
16:14I just understand her emotional attachment to it all
16:21a lot of years
16:23taking her to the gym and stuff
16:25and
16:26watching her win all these awards
16:28so
16:28I understand her not wanting to get rid of them
16:33I'm like I'm fine
16:34I just
16:34I want to do the right thing for everyone else
16:36yeah
16:37if I can't find the space for it in my room
16:39it's just going to end up back out
16:41in the other room
16:42and I think that that's the lesson for all of you here
16:45you only have the space you have
16:49yeah
16:50let's keep going
16:51this one as well
16:52because me, Belle and Cameron
16:54we all have one
16:55from our primary school
16:56okay
16:56and I'll get rid of these
16:59some amazing progress by Ashley
17:01I think we need that
17:02and while the family are now successfully clearing the rest of this stuff
17:06did you want that Cameron?
17:07no
17:08my real concern here is Ange
17:10any clutter that kids feel compelled to hold on to
17:13is a learned behaviour from their mum
17:15keep that
17:16so it's going to be a real challenge moving forward
17:18to break them free from her influence
17:21when we started
17:22this table was piled high
17:24this is what you've decided to keep
17:27wow
17:27and you have a dozen boxes of items going off to donation
17:32let's move on
17:33good, great job
17:37coming up
17:38as the Renault races forward
17:42Peter pushes the teenagers to step up
17:45that's up to mum
17:46no it's not
17:47not anymore
17:51at the house
17:52Cherie's assessing the damage done to the kitchen wall tile
17:55when the old range hood was removed
17:59the home earners don't have any spare tiles
18:02and it's unlikely I can source a match to replace the broken one
18:06and we do not have time to replace all the kitchen tiles with new ones
18:11have you ever known how far the range hood will come down?
18:13I don't know if it will
18:16it'll be normally slimmer than the old bulkier version
18:22with the new range hood being shorter in height
18:24it's going to leave a big gap either above or below
18:27so we're going to have to come up with a solution
18:31but first there's a more pressing issue to address throughout the home
18:35the kids old playroom and kitchen are covered in cold dated grey tiles
18:40that stops at the living room's uneven and patchy timber floor
18:44which was hidden by the family's enormous couch
18:47so we're adding plywood to match the height of the tiles
18:51so we can then lay beautiful modern floating floorboards on top
18:55can you have the floorboards running this way all the way through
18:58so it makes the property look longer?
19:01yeah
19:01great thank you
19:02no worries
19:13to further connect the spaces
19:14the team's installing a new feature design element
19:19the walls were plain and boring
19:22so we're luxing them up with scallop panels
19:25in the kitchen and the kids old playroom
19:27I've chosen warm wood tones
19:29and for the living and dining room
19:31I'm painting the panels a cool grey
19:34for a more sophisticated feel
19:37all of these clothes
19:38this whole long row
19:39came out of the rooms we're looking at
19:41which is amazing given
19:42we did not even go into your bedrooms
19:45so tell me what am I looking at here Ange?
19:48what is all this?
19:49this part here is costumes
19:51and we're big on costumes and dress ups in our family
19:54okay so let's just start here
19:55okay
19:56this one mum?
19:58mum
19:59yes donate
20:01mum
20:02this one?
20:03no
20:05it's clear Ange got so used to making all the decisions
20:08when her kids were little
20:09that she's finding it difficult to ease up
20:12now Bella's 16 and Ashley's 19
20:14and while these two sisters are trying to donate things
20:18they're paralysed without permission from their mum
20:21mum do you want this bob wig?
20:24that one yes
20:25this can all go I think
20:26okay good
20:26so I want to empower the girls to take a more active role
20:30in clearing the clutter
20:32what's going to be the limit on the costumes that you keep?
20:36that's up to mum
20:37no it's not
20:39not anymore
20:41I think if we wear them and they fit
20:42I want to be able to keep them
20:44that's not a limit
20:45because you could buy a hundred costumes that fit you
20:48a limit is an amount of space
20:52maybe two boxes
20:55you two don't stand there silently
20:58what's a reasonable limit knowing that things have gotten out of control in the past?
21:04I'm fine with one box
21:06okay
21:06do you guys need more?
21:08as long as we pack it tightly
21:10I'm not laughing
21:12Ange can joke all she wants
21:14but by laughing off much needed limits
21:16she's undermining the very thing
21:19I'm trying to teach her and her family
21:21you don't want this one?
21:23no
21:23no
21:24good
21:24okay good
21:25let's keep moving
21:25keep
21:26no
21:27go
21:27and while she is now helping to cull this excess
21:31mum one hat
21:32that one can go
21:33great job
21:34we've got a long way to go to achieve meaningful change
21:39when we started
21:40piled high with clothes and costumes
21:42this is all you're keeping
21:44and eleven boxes off to donation
21:47awesome job
21:48let's go
21:49out of here
21:49more to do
21:52upstairs
21:53Marlin's joined Angie to shed some light on the vintage cup
21:57and old photos she found amongst the clutter
22:00so that's my father back in Sri Lanka where I was born
22:04and boxing was his passion
22:06quite the athlete we could say
22:08yeah
22:08he held an amateur title of Sri Lanka for five years straight
22:14he was a featherweight
22:15so he was like legit proper boxer
22:18proper athlete collecting those trophies
22:21yep
22:22how old were you when you moved from Sri Lanka to Australia?
22:27three turning four
22:30back in Sri Lanka
22:31civil war was happening at the time
22:33so there's a bit of unrest there
22:35so my father and mother obviously thought it'd be better for us to move to Australia
22:41and have a better life
22:43sadly Marlin's dad passed away almost two decades ago
22:47and I can see these memories and keepsakes mean the world to him
22:51but after its journey from Sri Lanka to Australia
22:54this old trophy needs a bit of love
22:58so I'm cleaning off the tarnish with hot water and baking soda
23:03then polishing it to bring back its original shine
23:07and as the wooden base was scuffed
23:09I'm giving it a light sand
23:11then spraying it with a brand new coat of paint
23:15lastly I'm framing up these beautiful old photos
23:18so the story of Marlin's dad can be retold for decades to come
23:25back downstairs Peter's now giving Cameron, Bella and Ashley
23:29a chance to declutter their collection of old toys and games on their own
23:35you're an adult now and you are both way past a lot of these toys
23:39go through these and select the stuff you'd still like to have
23:42and share as a family
23:45Ange desperately wants these three to take ownership of their clutter
23:49but then she struggles to let them do just that
23:52stay or go?
23:54go
23:54done okay
23:55so I'll be interested to see what happens here
23:58without their mum second guessing their choices
24:01Ninja Turtle
24:02go
24:03and Captain America
24:04go
24:05Bella, do you want this?
24:07uh, no
24:08good
24:08good
24:09you keep this?
24:10yeah
24:10do you want Jenga?
24:12keep Jenga, that's a good game
24:14good, good
24:15wow, these three are killing it
24:18Cameron, do you need cricket balls?
24:19no, go
24:20given the chance and the responsibility
24:22they are communicating well
24:24working as a team
24:25do you want this?
24:26no
24:26and most importantly
24:28clearing their childhood clutter
24:32so
24:32this is all you're keeping
24:34seven boxes off to donation
24:36it feels good to like
24:38let go of everything that we don't need
24:40okay
24:40especially without like our parents
24:42in our ears
24:43like the saying they want to keep stuff
24:44okay
24:45like a lot of the times
24:46we've like cleaned out our rooms
24:47and we've said okay
24:48we want to get rid of this
24:49and then mum will be like
24:50oh I want to look through it first
24:52make sure there's nothing that I need
24:53maybe we could actually
24:55go through it with her
24:56there it is
24:57yeah
24:57okay so
24:57instead of it being
24:59about a fight or a struggle
25:01okay mum you want to look at it
25:02let's do it now
25:04yeah
25:04because if you put it off till later
25:10yeah
25:10you can see what happens
25:12yeah
25:12it just builds up over time
25:14yeah
25:15let's keep moving
25:16great job
25:19coming up
25:20Angie gets inventive
25:21for a fun hack
25:22woohoo
25:24and later
25:25unveils her big surprise
25:27oh my god
25:28hi
25:34at the family home
25:35the reno team
25:37are constructing
25:37new cabinetry
25:38in the kitchen
25:39to house the fridge
25:41modernising the old cupboard doors
25:45installing new extended benchtops
25:48and upgrading the old sink and tap
25:52but there is still one problem to solve
25:54how to cover the broken tile
25:56that's just below where the new range hood is being installed
26:00can you lower the range hood
26:02and we stick an infill panel
26:03in across the top
26:04yeah 100%
26:04fill the void
26:05but before we do that
26:06we need to make sure
26:07that we've got at least 650 clearance
26:09from the Truberts
26:10to the underside of the range hood
26:11to meet building code
26:12yeah
26:12all right let's measure it
26:14okay beautiful
26:15all right
26:16that'll make it look nice
26:17yeah
26:19thank goodness
26:20lowering the new range hood
26:21hides the cracked tile
26:23and we're putting a panel above
26:25so there's no gap in the cabinetry
26:27which is a quick
26:28and affordable solution
26:30around the corner
26:31a brand new pantry
26:33is being built
26:34to replace storage
26:35that was lost
26:35to accommodate the fridge
26:37which is now being moved
26:39from the old kids playroom
26:40into its new home
26:41look at that
26:42guys
26:43fridge in the kitchen
26:45yay
26:47next
26:48the team can focus their attention
26:50on refreshing the living and dining room
26:52the family's gigantic sofa
26:54blocked the dining area
26:56and there was a severe lack of storage
26:58for such a large household
27:00so we're installing a wall of cabinets
27:02we're shelving below
27:05and I've got brand new furniture being delivered
27:09that once assembled
27:10will include even more storage
27:12plus we're adding waist-high bookshelves
27:15facing the entry
27:16and covering the backs with panelling
27:18to help define the new dining area
27:20while a smaller modular sofa
27:23will open up the space
27:24so the family of five
27:26can comfortably sit around
27:27a new dining table
27:29and to make the rooms really pop
27:31I'm ordering vibrant new artwork
27:33hopefully it'll make the space
27:35so attractive
27:36the parents and kids
27:37will want to come out of their own rooms
27:38to spend quality time together
27:46so you have five people living in the house
27:48are you surprised at how much linen there is
27:50yes
27:51yeah
27:52Peter's now helping Ange and Marlon
27:54sort through their five tables of linen
27:56that was scattered throughout their home
27:58this blanket
28:01um
28:01donate
28:02okay good
28:03that one
28:04donate
28:04okay good
28:05you might as well do that
28:06okay good
28:06both
28:07okay great
28:07up until this point
28:09Ange has had a really hard time
28:11with this process
28:12there we go
28:12okay
28:13good
28:15that one
28:15go
28:16good
28:16but now she's getting rid of
28:18lots of stuff
28:19much more readily
28:21go
28:21yeah that one
28:22good
28:24and it's kind of blowing my mind
28:27I've just done a whole section
28:29with the kids
28:30and I'll be honest with you
28:32they said
28:32without mum here
28:34looking over our shoulder
28:36it actually felt much easier
28:38and now
28:39you're here
28:41doing this
28:42seemingly
28:43very easily
28:44and both of you seem much more relaxed
28:47yeah
28:47what's happened
28:48at home I felt like I was on my own
28:50and everyone else just was blinded by it all
28:53and just didn't see it all
28:54okay
28:55but as a group
28:57we're now empowered
28:57sort of to do this
28:58and to
28:59push ourselves
29:00to make sure that we don't keep things
29:01that we don't need
29:02how do you see your role changing now
29:05Marlon
29:06yeah trying to keep
29:07the space
29:08clean
29:09yeah
29:09and when we buy something
29:11replacing something
29:12well let's get rid of the old
29:13old stuff
29:14instead of holding on to that one as well
29:16as a backup
29:16or something like that
29:18got it
29:18and is that something that you
29:19that you two have fallen prey to
29:21that that's something you've done also
29:22I think so yeah
29:23I think we all have
29:24yeah
29:25at last
29:26a real breakthrough
29:28Marlon is taking responsibility
29:30for his part in the clutter
29:31and Ange is looking happier
29:33and more supported
29:35let's finish up with this
29:36awesome job
29:37let's keep moving
29:38that's a good one
29:39that's a thing
29:40we'll keep that one
29:41okay good
29:41thank you so much
29:43I'm feeling so much lighter
29:45now that it's not just me
29:46focusing on clutter
29:48ah that's an old one
29:49I've got a new one
29:50okay good
29:51I'm pretty positive
29:52that everyone's on board
29:53and hopefully we can all
29:55keep each other accountable
29:56because I don't want the clutter
29:57to come back
29:59look at this
30:00when you started
30:01this whole row
30:02piled high with linen
30:03this is what you're keeping
30:05what's more amazing
30:0713 boxes
30:08off to donation
30:10yes exactly
30:11great
30:12as they take a break
30:13from sorting
30:15Ange and Marlon
30:16head upstairs
30:19where Angie's
30:20showing the kids
30:21old photos
30:21she dug up
30:22from the clutter
30:23oh my gosh
30:24what's this
30:24look at her smile
30:26it's so nice
30:27to see everyone
30:28laughing together
30:30and reminiscing
30:31about when the kids
30:32were little
30:32that's when I cut
30:33your bangs
30:35but what they
30:36really need
30:37is some new photos
30:38that represent
30:39who they are
30:40as a family today
30:41mind your head
30:42yeah
30:43pull a face
30:44so I'm staging
30:46some fun poses
30:47that's cute
30:48that I'm taking
30:49with my phone
30:49rather than
30:50an intimidating
30:51professional camera
30:52beautiful
30:54as I really want
30:55this to be
30:55a casual
30:56bonding experience
30:58where the family
30:59can relax
30:59and be themselves
31:00I love that
31:01next I'm going
31:02to take shots
31:03of each of them
31:04individually
31:04but instead of
31:06stuffy portraits
31:07I'm after fun
31:08quirky shots
31:09so good
31:10and oh my god
31:12these pics
31:12have come out
31:13perfectly
31:15now I've got
31:16more than enough
31:17to create my solution
31:18to the family's
31:19other problem
31:20at the house
31:21I spotted
31:22an old-fashioned
31:23key holder
31:24that was overloaded
31:25with the family's
31:25keys
31:27so I'm going
31:28to hack together
31:29two picture frames
31:30back to back
31:31to form a hinge
31:33add plenty of hooks
31:35so everyone
31:36has space
31:36for their keys
31:39and place
31:40one of my
31:40fab new
31:41family photos
31:42on the front cover
31:44plus
31:45I'm cutting out
31:46individual shots
31:47placing them
31:48on coloured
31:48backgrounds
31:49and then framing
31:50the prints
31:51to form
31:51a fun
31:52photo wall
31:53that I hope
31:54they all
31:54really love
31:58coming up later
31:59oh my god
32:00the family
32:02are gobsmacked
32:03when they see
32:03their renovated home
32:05oh my god
32:11at the renovation
32:12the rubbish truck
32:13arrives to clear
32:14the front yard

32:20to our depot
32:20and we sort
32:21through it
32:21and as little
32:22goes to landfill
32:22as possible
32:23okay great
32:30inside
32:31new lighting
32:32is installed
32:32throughout

32:34Cherie's refreshed
32:35contemporary style
32:37including the
32:37kids old playroom
32:38this space
32:40this space was an
32:40unusable mess
32:41full of childhood
32:42things the kids
32:43had outgrown
32:44so I'm updating

35:29I did
35:29seeing everyone
35:30else putting

35:57where Peter
35:58finds the best

36:13pair it with
36:14the neutral
36:14otherwise
36:15it's just
36:15too much
36:24because of
36:25the clutter
36:25this place
36:26has become
36:27a source
36:27of conflict
36:28for Angie
36:29Marlon
36:29and the
36:30kids
36:30but by
36:31reimagining

36:34with plenty
36:35of storage
36:35to keep
36:36things neat
36:37and tidy
36:37I hope
36:39it now
36:39becomes a
36:39home
36:40where the
36:40family can
36:41reestablish
36:42their long

37:08for us
37:09as a

37:35remember when
37:35we first
37:36came into
37:36this room
37:37how there
37:37was a
37:37huge
37:38couch
37:38cutting
37:39the room
37:39in half
37:40how there
37:40was a
37:41dining table
37:41buried
37:42that none
37:43of you
37:43had sat
37:43at for
37:44more than

39:08in two
39:08so we've now got a more appropriate sofa where the whole family can sit down
39:13and a dining table for five
39:15and I reckon we should have dinner tonight together
