MOTHER ELEPHANT PROTECTS BABY WITH VID BY SALONI MATHUR Watch this intense video of a mother elephant threatening a group of tourists to protect her baby. Rachel Ogle, a safari guide in South Africa, was on her way to the airport when she came across this herd of elephants. They were swiftly walking across the road when the matriarch of the herd saw Rachel’s jeep and walked towards it, swinging her head, warning them against approaching the herd. Rachel said: “Something must have frightened them in the bush before I got there and saw them. “Often animals will give us signs to back off or establish comfort zones, it’s important that we pay attention to those signs and respect them. “When it comes to Elephants, these beautiful, sentient animals that have the ability to feel strong emotions, and care deeply for the members of their herd. “When it comes to safety, you best believe they’ll do anything to make sure their babies are safe.” ENDs
