00:08delivery of my very own new wagon as I entered the next stages of dadhood but I did get to

00:13on this really cool project with ebay to build out a separate station wagon that one's a bit
00:17more of a mod or a build out I did pull you guys on socials at different parts that we
00:21were ordering
00:22stuff like the front grille trim kits shift knobs but the biggest change or mod is actually a manual
00:27transmission swap and I know that I'm super techie super futuristic but I am a big fan of analog
00:33things so combining my love of wagons and all things analog in cars today is actually the reveal
00:38of the car not too far from here I can actually walk they'll probably be quicker than driving
00:43Toronto traffic is terrible let's check out the car and see what we built and here is the labor of

00:56this is a bmw 5 series touring that we did a manual transmission swap so we partnered with ebay like
01:02I said to source a lot of the parts I'll show you guys all the parts that you selected but
01:07as you know
01:07big station wagon fan big touring fan and as the rest of the cars roll in to the event I'll
01:13show you
01:13guys what the vulture event has all the vehicles and of course uh station wagon love so let's walk
01:20through the spec at the front so this grill here is actually one of your guys first choices at what
01:25you guys pick when I ran a poll on socials you guys chose the black kidney grills I think we
01:31had
01:31another option of like the the three racing stripes or like the m series colors but I think the matte
01:36black that came out great some other parts you have like an m5 style front bumper we actually have
01:40the headlights that were sourced from ebay these are m5 oem mirrors and inside which I'll get to in a
01:45second you can actually see what makes this so special right there that is a manual transmission
01:51right there knob I'll get to that in a sec obviously this being a touring has that full usability in
01:56the
01:56back and like I said that transmission was taken from the sedan version which did come with that
02:01and it is a 535 the tips were also sourced from ebay and obviously got to give a huge shout
02:07out to the
02:08guys at speed academy who did the entire build they're the guys with all the technical abilities to pull
02:12build like this off I'm going to grab peter in a second to chat through how he thought
02:16let's go on the inside to see what it's like
02:21okay so hopping in that is what you want to see there that was another selection you guys made
02:26I think this has like the m performance you can see right there and this is one of the only
02:31manual
02:31transmission swaps you can see the third pedal right in there just to prove it so that's cool so
02:37that was an option we also have a custom head unit that was changed a little wireless car charger for
02:42your phone which is funny I mentioned to peter uh obviously one to select that was my tech input
02:47and what's really cool about tourings or station wagons you've got all the usable space in the back
02:51all our camera equipment and stuff is uh back there but you guys have selected all these parts let me
02:55know your thoughts on the overall build the parts that you selected and within ebay you actually have
03:01something called that fits your vehicle checklist so within the app they actually have something
03:05called my garage where you add the vehicles that you have and when you're looking for a
03:09particular part you can see if it fits your vehicle if it's compatible if it'll actually work
03:13so you can see right there my own station wagon that I've added and then I can even change my
03:18vehicle
03:18to say my 2022 my 911 and then when I'm looking for particular parts say I want to change I've
03:25been
03:25looking for chrome exhaust tips because I don't have the touring so mine are currently in black so you
03:30can see right there all of these which are usable that could actually potentially work on mine for
03:36example right there oh that looks good swapping them out to chrome I think that looks a bit more
03:40classic than the black and you can see there that little notification right there this item fits and
03:46that would work on my car and I've managed to track down Peter from Speed Academy this is the man

03:51the craziness what's up everybody how was this built it for a BMW it was pretty carefree actually you
04:00know what I build a lot of these and this one was one of the more simple builds everything came
04:04together very little headache which was good my biggest concern was the manual swap and thanks
04:10to the BMW community is always so big and there's so many resources there was a guy locally that was
04:15like hey you don't actually need to swap all the differentials like I originally thought and it was
04:20just a gearbox so it worked out well and of course you know having access to eBay and all of
04:25the parts
04:25really made all this come together so much quicker and easier we use eBay all the time not just for
04:30this
04:30build right and even for some of the things that we chose like we kind of ordered those pretty late
04:35in the
04:35game and they came through exactly exactly and it's it to me it's just like a very reliable source where
04:42you
04:42know you go on websites and you can buy parts but you don't know whether they're in stock or when
04:46they're
04:47coming per se even though it says like shipping this or the inventory yeah we're on eBay you always know
04:52what you're
04:52gonna get and you when you're gonna get it right so that's that's always my best thing about buying stuff

09:45the thumbs up like yeah we're part of the same group there are honestly a lot more similarities than
09:50i thought obviously very different vehicles but now it is my turn to actually get to drive it
09:56i'm super pumped about the manual transmission and more so the car that we kind of built

10:07and it is nice to be back in a manual transmission and that's what makes this so unique you know

10:31that third extra pedal and i think that's what like real car enthusiasts really love and seeing
10:37some of the parts that we've selected off of ebay you know this little m performance knob the little
10:40bits of carbon fiber when we were on initial call with the guys from speed academy we're kind of
10:45figuring out what to choose obviously i pulled you guys on what to pick even this little head unit we
10:50can see cool things like you know coolant levels boost pressure all those fun little mods but the main
10:55thing is this guy right here and some of my shifts maybe gotta work on them a bit but yeah
