00:01Bonjour!
00:02Six couples stepped up to chase the same life-changing prize.
00:06I can't believe we're here.
00:08Stunning.
00:09Look at this view, Brett.
00:10Welcome to the best bed and breakfast.
00:13The keys to their own dream five-bedroom B&B.
00:20Four expert judges put them under the spotlight.
00:24Slightly chaotic, as they say, up north.
00:27The competition has been so tough this week.
00:29They did drop the ball pretty, pretty, pretty badly.
00:33Oh!
00:34Across two weeks, they hosted real guests
00:36and tackled intense challenges every day.
00:40Whoa!
00:41Look at it. Stop asking me questions.
00:43I've posed it all up again.
00:45Brett, we have a problem!
00:46At which point do we start to panic?
00:49Now, six couples have become four.
00:52No!
00:54Actually, actually...
00:56Thank you so much!
01:00This week, the final four will be pushed to their limits.
01:05They have to do everything right this week.
01:07The competition is fiercer than ever.
01:09Now you real owners are here.
01:11How do you spell team love?
01:12Breast forgotten tomatoes.
01:14Don't panic.
01:15Because at the end of this week, someone will walk away with a new life in France.
01:21You have won the bed and breakfast.
01:25Previously...
01:26No, it's not happening.
01:27No, it's not happening.
01:28That's amazing.
01:29As the hosts hit the midway point in finals week...
01:32Honey, I'm home!
01:35Competition at the B&B was more intense than ever.
01:38There's no oats in this bread, are there?
01:40I actually couldn't tell you.
01:41Underwhelming.
01:43It's all that.
01:44Don't panic.
01:45Just step aside.
01:46And the judges cranked up the pressure.
01:49I felt that I was at a corporate event.
01:51There's just something missing.
01:52It's not over yet.
02:00Morning has broken on the limousine.
02:04And the hosts are up, ready to prove why they should be the ones to make this place home.
02:11This looks pretty.
02:12I've made them all roses, so it always looks nice to have a rose on the table.
02:17Yeah, you have, so I'll start bringing the thing out.
02:19This is it.
02:20This is where we should be.
02:21And we're good at it.
02:23We're gonna win it out with Steve.
02:25We're here to win it.
02:28We need to feel like when people come round to ours, don't we?
02:31That's how we want it to feel like.
02:32Also, they say, don't be too relaxed.
02:35Yeah, I know.
02:36We have to find that middle ground.
02:38I think in the heat week, it definitely, like, reignited, you know, the fight in us, didn't it?
02:42It really opened the door to say, actually, you can do this.
02:48Oh, wow.
02:49Look how beautiful this is.
02:51It's really nice.
02:52Imagine just sitting there and having a wee wine.
02:54Gorgeous.
02:55A little nice coffee in the morning.
02:57I wish all the other hosts the very best, but we're here to win it.
03:01So watch out.
03:02Brett and I are your biggest competition.
03:05Did you sleep well last night?
03:07No.
03:08Every time I woke up, you ever going through your business plan?
03:11I know.
03:12Yeah.
03:13I did nudge you at Wednesday to stop you snoring.
03:15I know, why am I lying here doing this and he's snoring?
03:18No, I don't think there's any competition.
03:21No, I'm being serious.
03:22I'm being 100% serious.
03:23I'm being 100% serious.
03:24That was so cocky.
03:32Yesterday, Michelle and Steve became the third couple to host the judges overnight.
03:37Staying last night was absolutely tremendous.
03:40We did a beautiful meal, got them dancing.
03:43Nobody else got them dancing over.
03:45This morning, it's their last chance to show the judges what they can offer on the breakfast table.
03:51We've been dancing.
03:52We've been dancing.
03:53And prancing.
03:54And knitting.
03:56It's all a bit of a blur because we have managed to fit in an extraordinary amount of activity.
04:01Skills.
04:02And skills.
04:03It was just, it was a lot to learn.
04:04It was the first time that Michelle had exposed what she does.
04:08We knew that Steve did towel art.
04:10And magic.
04:11And magic.
04:12If I'm absolutely honest, I am not convinced yet that they have a B&B plan.
04:19All of their ideas work along workshops.
04:24Yes.
04:25So, I don't think their intention really is to operate it as a bed and breakfast.
04:31Well, they're not going to get much passing trade here for B&B, are they?
04:34So, they're probably thinking...
04:36I'm not saying it's a negative.
04:37I'm actually thinking of it as a...
04:39Alliance and thinking that if they run courses, then they'll get bums on beds.
04:44It'll make more sense when they pitch us their business plan.
04:49So, yoghurt's there.
04:50Shall I...
04:51The sleep table to me, please.
04:53Right.
04:54So, what's going in middle?
04:55Baguette?
04:56Me tarts.
04:57Right.
04:58Oh.
04:59Right.
05:00Okay.
05:01So, what's going on there?
05:02Bread's going to be cut up there.
05:03No, no.
05:04I'm going to have cheese knocking...
05:05Anyway, look, I know what I'm doing.
05:06I've got another little board.
05:07You know what I'm doing.
05:08Excuse me.
05:09They're the most lovable, laughing, happy, jolly couple.
05:16Perhaps a little bit loud at times, in Michelle's case.
05:20So, I've done some yoghurt pots.
05:22We've got all the local croissants, pain au chocolat.
05:25Last time we did our breakfast, we didn't have any complaints.
05:29So, to be honest, I'm not changing anything.
05:31What I'm hoping to see this time is same offering, but with more local produce.
05:39I think that's what was really lacking during the heat week.
05:42We have got a really nice cheese, and I've got some really nice cakey things.
05:49So, I'm looking forward to them all coming down here and enjoying this view, and we'll
05:55have a really good talk, and we've got a really good day ahead of us.
05:59Putting everyone on the table together in the kitchen worked.
06:03It really worked, yes.
06:04What time is it?
06:06Quarter past.
06:07Oh, we're back to time.
06:09Yeah, well, you know how slow you are.
06:11Let's see.
06:14Breakfast is served!
06:21Meanwhile, Nicola and Roy are also sitting down to breakfast, as they continue on their
06:26research trip.
06:28I had a very comfortable sleep.
06:29In fact, my head, as soon as I hit the pillow, I was clean out.
06:34After quizzing their hosts, Alison and Mark, last night, this morning Nicola and Roy are keen
06:39to see what they can learn from breakfast.
06:42Good morning.
06:43Good morning.
06:44Good morning.
06:45Thank you very much.
06:46Lovely.
06:47Wow, that's beautiful coffee.
06:50For the guests, breakfast.
06:51It's the most important meal because, you know, they think about it and they talk about it
06:57and they say, oh, isn't that a lovely breakfast?
06:58Yeah, we'll go back there because of the breakfast.
07:00We've done it ourselves.
07:01I think everywhere we stay, it's always a breakfast we remember.
07:05Both Nicola and Roy have opted for the small fry-up.
07:10Is that the small?
07:11That is.
07:12That is the small.
07:13Enjoy.
07:14Thank you so much.
07:15Thank you so much.
07:16Bon appétit.
07:19It's gorgeous and hot.
07:21Perfect.
07:22Have you tried the eggs, though?
07:23I tried a bit, yeah.
07:24Lovely.
07:25Lots of eggs from the chickens over there.
07:26Oh, yeah.
07:27I forgot about that.
07:28No shop-bought eggs here?
07:29No.
07:30Stuff?
07:31I think you're driving.
07:33Oh, no.
07:34I'll need an app.
07:35Great.
07:36Let's get checked out.
07:37Lovely.
07:38Let's go.
07:39On our way.
07:40I think what stood out, first of all, and most of all, was the hosting.
07:44Yeah.
07:45Mark and Alison are very friendly and welcoming.
07:47We'll definitely take things away and put them into practice in our own B&B.
07:51Definitely.
07:55Time for us to go.
07:56Thank you so much for all the tips.
07:58We're glad you have.
07:59Take care.
08:01Take care.
08:03Bye-bye.
08:04Bye-bye.
08:05I think that they'd be brilliant to run something like this, because they've got the right attitude
08:09and they've got the right vision.
08:10It's threw them down to the ground, I think.
08:12Yeah, I think so.
08:13They're so keen.
08:14And willing, aren't they?
08:15Yeah.
08:18As Nicola and Roy digest what they've learnt, Michelle and Steve are starting the most important
08:24breakfast of their lives.
08:26You can sit wherever you want.
08:28Don't you just...
08:29How pretty.
08:30Who went flower picking this morning?
08:31Me.
08:32Yeah.
08:33My charmer.
08:34Oh, I love the napkins.
08:36Oh, do you like...
08:37Oh!
08:38I really do, actually.
08:39And I like the...
08:40I've been trying to win you over with these because you said...
08:43That's a stepper from bog roll, though.
08:47Today, the judges are looking to see if breakfast is the same standard as heat week and if the
08:52guest experience is more relaxed.
08:55And there's some cheese.
08:56We can do your toast.
08:58Just enjoy it.
08:59Thank you very much.
09:00Would you like anything else?
09:01I'll go and get the sugar.
09:02Right?
09:03That coffee's good.
09:04Really lovely.
09:05It's great again.
09:06And when you fancy like a sexy bun, that's a meringue thing.
09:11Now, this is a really sexy tart.
09:14I was going to say, I've never heard a lemon tart being called a bun.
09:18Oh, really?
09:19Right.
09:20I've got some fresh...
09:21I keep making it fresh because it goes cold really quick, doesn't it?
09:25I am going to try one of those strawberry tart, or a slice of strawberry tart.
09:29Right, Steve.
09:30Well, what I'll do is...
09:31I can't reach it.
09:32I'll pass it over and I'll put it on a nice little plate for you.
09:35You'd help me with a bit of it, wouldn't you?
09:37And I'm going to keep that.
09:38Oh, are you?
09:39Because I might have a little bit of cheese with it.
09:40Oh, that's nice.
09:41You're like the devil on my shoulder.
09:43I will not tell anybody.
09:45I'd eat it all.
09:49Come back in a minute.
09:50Just enjoy it, all right?
09:52Is everything all right?
09:54It's fabulous, thank you.
09:56That's lovely, because we do try, and I know Michelle talks a lot,
09:59but I have got a novel way I've learnt how to switch off.
10:08Of course it's bug roll.
10:10Thank you, Steve.
10:13No worries.
10:14What do we think about the breakfast spread this morning?
10:16Totally good.
10:17Lovely.
10:18It's really consistent with what they were offering during the heat week,
10:20and I'm glad, because their breakfast has always been one of the strongest.
10:25But they've upped the quality of the product.
10:27They've really gone local.
10:28I mean, the rustic bread is fantastic.
10:31The ease they had the last time was that the breakfast was in the kitchen,
10:35so they didn't really have to move much.
10:37This time, they're bringing out more, and we get a little bit of downtime.
10:41It might be a bit more peaceful than previously.
10:47Michelle and Steve's time hosting is almost over.
10:51Have you enjoyed your breakfast?
10:53Lovely, thank you.
10:54I felt the hosting went really well.
10:56We were on time, we were on schedule, we weren't stressed.
10:59I would have asked for milder cheese.
11:01Yes.
11:02I need something we mentioned to them the first week as well.
11:05Really?
11:06Mm-hmm.
11:07Everything will have to be taken into account this week,
11:10not just their hosting skills.
11:11We will be going into details.
11:13I would have just liked slightly less sweet stuff and a tiny bit more savoury.
11:18We didn't have any savoury with Nicola and Roy.
11:20They did offer us eggs if we wanted it.
11:23I know we're against three really good hosts.
11:26We really want it and so do they.
11:28Whoever wins it, you know, they have to do everything right this week.
11:32They have to bring their A-game.
11:34In the Limousin, Justin and Paul are out shopping at a local market,
11:47getting ready to take their turn in the hot seat.
11:51What's happening now, it looks great, doesn't it?
11:53Yeah.
11:54Look at those up there.
11:55They look gorgeous.
11:56Yeah.
11:57C'est combien, monsieur?
11:59At 1pm, they'll get the keys to the prize house,
12:02becoming the final couple to host the judges.
12:05Can you see any blackberries, Paul?
12:07No, I can't.
12:08Maybe there might be something more further up.
12:13In the heat weeks, the judges criticise Justin and Paul
12:16for being too relaxed, serving a buffet-style dinner.
12:22So this time, they're aiming to create a more formal three-course meal
12:26without compromising their hosting style.
12:30That way of eating, like the sharing and the plates,
12:33we feel that it opens conversation.
12:35That's the main thing, isn't it?
12:36What we've taken on board, there's a really clear brief,
12:39so we're going to deliver to the brief.
12:41Hopefully, we'll maintain the relaxed atmosphere.
12:44So the starter's going to be a blackberry skewer.
12:46We know the blackberry skewer is a hit,
12:48but it's whether we can find them.
12:50It seems like we've got them growing in the UK,
12:54but it's obviously not such a big thing here.
12:58After narrowly securing a spot in the finals,
13:01hosting the judges for 24 hours adds more pressure.
13:05Having the judges say it was very close
13:07does make you feel like you've got a lot to prove,
13:11but I feel like we've put tonnes of work in.
13:13So, actually, we were told to dial it up.
13:17We've really dialed it up.
13:21Let's pick these so they look natural
13:23and they look nice on the table, yeah?
13:25Yeah, exactly.
13:26That's good.
13:27No blackberries anywhere.
13:37Oh, dear.
13:39I feel quite confident about running the house.
13:42One little snag, which is the blackberries,
13:44and if we don't find them, it's not the end of the world
13:46because we've got another amazing alternative.
13:48Yeah, we're ready, aren't we?
13:49We've got to the bit now.
13:50Yeah, we're not frantic. We're just calm.
13:52Just let's do it.
13:54As Justin and Paul set off to the stunning prize house,
13:58Michelle and Steve are about to leave it.
14:03So, the magic berries were out last night.
14:06Aww.
14:07So, we thought, well, I'll get them finished,
14:10so that's what I've done for you.
14:11Oh, thank you.
14:12OK, so...
14:13Thank you. Really, that means a lot.
14:15It's lovely. Thank you very much.
14:16I'll take them away for you
14:18and I'll put them in one of the bags that we've got
14:20because you've all got a bag.
14:21Right, then.
14:22But thank you, we'll leave you to it and then we'll bob off.
14:24Thank you very much.
14:25OK, thank you.
14:26See you later.
14:27Bye.
14:29Leaving the house and thinking that it could be his last time
14:33could be really upsetting, really, to be fair,
14:36because this is what we want and we've fought for this.
14:39Yeah.
14:40In the heat weeks, we fought.
14:42This week, we fought for it.
14:44And, yeah, it's going to be upsetting, isn't it?
14:47It's time for the judges to pack up
14:50before embarking on their excursion with Michelle and Steve.
14:54I just had a lovely sleep last night.
14:57I woke up this morning at six
14:59and I'm looking at the ceiling thinking,
15:01wow, I hope it's not as last night
15:03and I hope we can have many more nights here.
15:05I hope it's going to be our B&B.
15:08Another one done?
15:12Right, are we going to get off?
15:14This is it.
15:15Let's have a moment to look at our new home.
15:18We hope so.
15:19I hope it's not the last time I'm going to be studying.
15:21Absolutely.
15:22Because I'm looking forward to making fire.
15:24So, come on.
15:27Bye, house.
15:28See you soon.
15:29See you soon.
15:32Michelle and Steve's turn running the prize B&B
15:35has come to an end.
15:39While for Justin and Paul, it's just beginning.
15:43The chance to make this dream B&B theirs starts now.
15:47Hello, house.
15:49Now your real owners are here.
15:51So, split then.
15:54You do kitchen.
15:55I put everything away upstairs.
15:57Dress the table.
15:58Start cooking.
15:59Yeah.
16:00Yeah?
16:01This week, all the rooms have been pre-cleaned.
16:04This is for upstairs.
16:05That's for the gift, yeah.
16:06For one each.
16:07But the judges are expecting to see the couple embrace feedback,
16:10be open, warm and less defensive.
16:13And the missing part to the puzzle, the blackberries,
16:16which we managed to find in one of the supermarkets.
16:18So, we're very chuffed.
16:22They were the ones who maybe didn't show as much motivation
16:27and eagerness and passion for it all.
16:31The welcome gift, there's certainly room for them to show us that.
16:35It's so that the guests get a reminder.
16:38They'll take some pictures, hopefully, of the time that they're with us.
16:43They'll leave us one.
16:44That will go on the guest gallery and they'll take theirs home with them.
16:48They won their place because we felt, ultimately, that they had something very special to bring.
16:57We want to do placemats and then we can see what we've got.
17:00They talk about themselves as designers and design-led.
17:04And I want to see that.
17:06This way.
17:07That they're facing each other.
17:08Yeah.
17:09And I have a sneaky feeling they're going to change the deco of this house completely.
17:13Totally.
17:14Everything's going.
17:15I can see that.
17:16Much better.
17:17I think of all the couples, in a way, they've got the most to prove.
17:22Mm-hm.
17:23Are we happy with the vase?
17:24Do we want to change the vase?
17:27I think let's just do the other bits first and worry about that bit after.
17:31OK.
17:32Well, I am going to worry about it because I'm not going to go with everything else.
17:36As Justin and Paul prep for the judges, Michelle and Steve have a precious few hours left to impress.
17:44Because she was so good at crafting yesterday, we're actually going to take you and do some felting.
17:49Oh.
17:50Prolonging the torture.
17:55Right.
17:56So let's get you in and we've got a little challenge for you on the way.
17:59More challenges and surprises.
18:00Absolutely.
18:01Please no more dancing.
18:05I'd really like to see Michelle and Steve not rely on gimmicks.
18:09I think on the bus, I'm hoping that they'll calm down and explain what they love about the activity that they're taking us on.
18:17Mm-hm.
18:18And be part of it with us.
18:19Yeah.
18:20Rather than being the show.
18:21Yeah.
18:25Are we up for a challenge, guys?
18:27Not if I have to look down.
18:29No.
18:30Oh, there we are.
18:31We're going to do a quiz.
18:32And there's no concurring.
18:35Absolutely not.
18:36You can do me.
18:37I can do what you love.
18:38So, number one is, what is Feliton famous for?
18:43Don't, just write it down, don't cheat.
18:48Yes.
18:49What is Ussel famous for?
18:51What is Ussel?
18:52I'm not pronouncing it right, Eva.
18:54Ussel.
18:55Ussel.
18:56Can we have no concurring, please?
18:59Conferring.
19:00Conferring.
19:01Conferring.
19:02Conferring.
19:03Conferring.
19:04That's my new word.
19:05Conferring means agreeing.
19:07What?
19:08Oh, I'm not going to get many points.
19:10That's the show.
19:11I love it when they can't get it.
19:13After half an hour bus ride and 14 questions...
19:19Now, if you've all finished, write your names in big letters on the top.
19:23Yeah, go on.
19:24Right, okay.
19:25So, what is Feliton famous for?
19:29So, tapestry, yeah?
19:31I feel really sick.
19:35Where are you guys?
19:36Oh, come on, let's get felting.
19:42Oh, it's beautiful.
19:45The area is famous for its textiles,
19:48and felting is an ancient technique that involves matting wool fibres together
19:53to make a dense fabric.
19:59The workshop will be run by a local felt designer, Maurice Beaumont.
20:04So, today, we're going to do a felt ball like that.
20:10The first part is going to be the bottom.
20:13Today, the group are doing wet felting, which combines wool, water and soap.
20:18Then, it's agitated to bomb the wool together.
20:22I don't...
20:23Maybe you're putting too much on Nicola.
20:25Maybe not as...
20:26I won't put it as deep, but...
20:28Maybe it isn't as easy as everything.
20:32Wait, wait, wait, wait.
20:33Stop, stop, stop, stop.
20:35Why can't I do handicrafts?
20:37She said, I'm a natural athlete.
20:41Michelle and Steve, how do you think an activity like this
20:44would fit into your USP?
20:46Do you know what?
20:47I think this would fit in really well,
20:49because, obviously, we're about doing workshops.
20:52See, it's good for the guests to come here,
20:54because there's big groups.
20:55Also, because there's a moment.
20:56Also, because there's a moment.
20:57It's quiet.
20:58Yeah.
21:02Like that.
21:03Voilà, perfect.
21:04It's good, it's good, it's good.
21:11Oh, Nicola.
21:12Désolé.
21:14She said, sorry for your loss.
21:19Have you all enjoyed it?
21:20Absolutely.
21:21Michelle was supposed to be the crafters,
21:23so her should look amazing.
21:25I can't be good at everything.
21:27But I think Sneaklish has made her hat.
21:31Creativity!
21:34Merci beaucoup.
21:35Merci beaucoup.
21:37Thank you so much for taking us out as well.
21:38It's time for us to go to our next host,
21:41but thank you so much.
21:42Merci beaucoup aussi.
21:43Merci beaucoup.
21:48I think they're realising now that we're not just,
21:50you know, this Bounsley couple and fun-loving.
21:53Yeah, there's a lot of strings to us, Bill.
21:55Yeah.
21:56We're not just excellent hosts.
21:57Yeah.
21:58We're excellent crafters and excellent business people.
22:01Absolutely.
22:02Meanwhile, at the prize house in Fenier...
22:09Don't put it in the middle, though.
22:10Don't put it in the middle, you just said.
22:13The heat is turning up for Justin and Paul.
22:17It's going to be very flamey.
22:18We're not lighting them.
22:19Why?
22:20It's 78 degrees outside.
22:21Why would you light them?
22:23We're not lighting them.
22:24No.
22:25That's the whole point.
22:27No, it's not.
22:29The table may look great,
22:30but they haven't yet started their three-course dinner.
22:33What do you need them to do?
22:34Oh, an onion.
22:35So, if you could chop an onion...
22:37The judges are fast approaching,
22:39and this time there'll be no second chances.
22:43I'd like to see them masterful, almost,
22:46in charge of exactly what's happening
22:48and knowing what to do.
22:50You could start the skewers if you needed.
22:51No, I'm going to fill those.
22:52I'm going to carry on doing what you're doing in the starters.
22:54Remember our plan?
22:55OK.
22:56They really need to step up their game
22:57and, you know, don't just go for the easy route.
23:00This is a high-stake competition.
23:02The house is an amazing prize.
23:05Show us that you want that.
23:06How do you want the onion just finely?
23:08Yeah.
23:09I mean, we're running out of time before they arrive.
23:11I don't want them to be lazy.
23:13Or safe.
23:14We've met the judges before,
23:16so you can kind of feel a bit more relaxed.
23:18But ultimately, we have to impress them so much
23:22that we win this house.
23:24Of any of the couples,
23:26they have to really, really put themselves out there.
23:29In the limousine, Justin and Paul finally have their chance to host the judges.
23:45Hello.
23:48Hello.
23:49Please do come in.
23:51How are you?
23:52I'm good.
23:53Good.
23:54Hello.
23:55Lovely.
23:56Here we are.
23:57I know.
23:58Welcome to our home.
24:01Justin and Paul made it through to finals
24:03after the judges saw their potential to offer something different.
24:07How have you found the house?
24:12We've not had that much time in it, but we've done a little shuffle.
24:16Much more feng shui.
24:17A little warmer, a little bit snugglier.
24:19Yeah.
24:20Snugglier?
24:21Yes.
24:22Today, the judges want to see that Justin and Paul have the drive
24:26and the passion needed to run their own B&B.
24:29Boys, would you take a seat?
24:31Absolutely.
24:32And we'll take the ladies first, if that's all right with you.
24:34Thank you very much.
24:35Um, can Justin get you a drink of anything at all?
24:37I'd love some sparkling water.
24:39Okay, lovely.
24:40Thank you very much.
24:41All right, take a seat, yep.
24:42Girls, if I take you to your rooms, there is water there.
24:45Amazing.
24:46Lovely.
24:52Aww.
24:53Here you are.
24:54That's lovely.
24:55Claire put your case there.
24:56Thank you very much indeed.
24:58A little something from the pair of us and water on your bedside table.
25:03I'll leave you two.
25:04Lovely.
25:05Thank you so much.
25:06Eva?
25:07A little hello from us and a little something.
25:10Lovely.
25:11Some toiletries there, just in case you've forgotten anything.
25:14That's very thoughtful.
25:15Thank you so much.
25:17It was a very good welcome from Paul and Justin.
25:19Very laid back.
25:20Um, very like them.
25:22Just calm.
25:24Very different to our time with Michelle and Stephen.
25:27Don't get me wrong.
25:28I love Michelle and Stephen.
25:30But you do need a little quiet time after you've been with them.
25:36Hi boys.
25:37Sorry to keep you waiting.
25:38No problem at all.
25:39No problem at all.
25:40Shall we go to your room now?
25:41Yeah, sure.
25:42A little welcome note and something from Justin and I.
25:47Oh, wow.
25:48That's amazing.
25:49Everything is explained inside in the welcome.
25:50Oh, fantastic.
25:52That's really sweet.
25:54I'm excited now.
25:55We'll see you for dinner.
25:56That's fab.
25:58Thank you so much.
25:59Thanks, Paul.
26:00Oh, they've made the cards as well.
26:05Which have been centred.
26:07You'll notice in your room a small green Instamatic camera.
26:11We're hoping you'll use this during the stay to take some snaps of moments you feel best represented
26:15your visit.
26:16What a great idea.
26:17If this is the start, I hope it continues in this vein.
26:21Yeah.
26:22Paul, how do you think check-in with him?
26:26I mean, okay.
26:28It's hard to tell, isn't it?
26:30Hello, gorgeous.
26:31Hello.
26:32She's gone bonkers with that camera.
26:36I can't even work out how to use it myself.
26:39I must say, they gave me a great impression on arrival today.
26:44A lot stronger than what I saw them doing during the heat week.
26:49I felt like their arrival was a lot smoother.
26:51I also really like the idea they had for the welcome gift.
26:56Something fun, something really different as well.
26:59And I think we're going to have a lot of good times with that during the stay.
27:03So, a great start.
27:05So, that's all the prepping done.
27:06All under control.
27:08Maybe we should have an aperitif.
27:11No, we should not.
27:13Across the limousine, Nicole and Brett are heading to a neighbouring B&B for research.
27:22Wow, I'm going to be so intrigued asking them lots of questions.
27:26Dating back to the 1600s, Chateau Roubignac is run by expats Colette and Patrick, who moved here 22 years ago with their young children.
27:39Look at this.
27:40It's a chateau.
27:41Oh my God.
27:42This is lovely, isn't it?
27:43This is really nice.
27:44Hi.
27:45Welcome to Roubignac.
27:46Let's enjoy some sunshine and go down by the lake maybe and have a drink.
27:48With Colette and Patrick's youngest children, Agnes and Gilberto, still at home, it's a chance for Nicole and Brett to ask a few questions about family life in a B&B.
28:07Woo!
28:08So do you guys help your mum and dad do any chores around the house? Or when guests come, what are your jobs?
28:16We help out with everything if we can.
28:18Quite often do the meet and greet, help people bring their bags in.
28:21I think it's actually much easier settling into a community and becoming integrated if you've got children and they're suddenly chatting away in French and you're like, oh, oh.
28:31I've always wanted to speak another language.
28:33Can you say anything, Nando and press?
28:35Bonjour.
28:37So shall we show you up to your room? We haven't done that yet, haven't we?
28:40Oh, that would be great.
28:41Yeah, looking forward to seeing her.
28:43So, this is your room.
28:49Oh, wow, this is beautiful.
28:51Lovely.
28:52Your little balcony there.
28:53Oh, Brett, look at the view.
28:55That's amazing.
28:56A dress, isn't it?
28:57So peaceful and beautiful.
29:01Everything that they've explained to us and told us from their experiences, it's just so reassuring and we're feeling really excited now and even more driven.
29:13Meanwhile, after their overnight stay in a B&B, Nicola and Roy have hit the road again.
29:19Lovely wildflowers.
29:21They hope to open a food focused B&B and with wine being a classic pairing, today they're visiting a nearby vineyard to try and prep the best business plan they can.
29:31Bonjour.
29:32Bonjour.
29:33Bonjour.
29:34Hello.
29:35Hello.
29:36Hi Nicola.
29:37Hi Jeffrey.
29:38Hi Jeffrey.
29:39Hi Roy.
29:40Obviously, we hope to set up a bed and breakfast.
29:41Mm-hmm.
29:42And with bed and breakfast, we're going to do the tablet tote.
29:44Right.
29:45And with that comes wine.
29:46Do you do tours as well?
29:48Yes, I do.
29:49Yeah?
29:50We taste all the wines.
29:52That sounds good.
29:53That sounds very good.
29:54You can see.
29:55If you want, you can go.
29:56Yes, absolutely, yeah.
29:57Oh, wow.
30:03We have 12 different varieties.
30:06Uh-huh.
30:07See on this row, we have trestle on the top and we have to finish this row.
30:14Uh-huh.
30:15You are ready to help me?
30:16Oh, yeah.
30:17Okay, we'll go.
30:18Nice.
30:19Oh, yeah.
30:20Why do you do that?
30:22Uh, if the wind is stronger, it can break...
30:26Ah, snap.
30:27...this branch.
30:28Okay.
30:29So we have to protect.
30:30You want to try?
30:31Yeah.
30:32I need a stepladder.
30:33So nice and easy.
30:35Oh, I don't want to break this.
30:37You'll ruin the man's crop.
30:39Voila.
30:40Voila.
30:41One.
30:42Do you know something?
30:45I would do this for free.
30:46I love it.
30:47It's really...
30:48You've got free workers?
30:49Yeah, free.
30:52Boasting over 27,000 vineyards, France is a country famous for its fine wines.
30:59Finding one that could supply wine and offer guest experiences would be a bonus for any B&B owner.
31:07The work is finished.
31:08We can go to taste different wine if we want.
31:10Absolutely.
31:11Okay.
31:12My favorite.
31:13Sounds good.
31:14Okay.
31:15Perfect.
31:16On y va.
31:17We'll start with this wine.
31:18Oh, I'm...
31:19I'm getting that straight away.
31:20Déjà.
31:21Wow.
31:22Merci.
31:23Déjà.
31:24I don't normally drink white wine.
31:25Yeah.
31:26But that is delicious.
31:28Wow.
31:29And this one is...
31:30The sparking one.
31:31I've opened it before.
31:32Yeah.
31:33Because it's...
31:34Yeah.
31:35Oh, it's sweet.
31:36We use it with chocolate dessert and duck.
31:49In my job, I'm a chef.
31:50Yeah.
31:51And I do appreciate good wines.
31:52Uh-huh.
31:53And these are the best that I've tried in a long, long time.
31:54If we're lucky enough to win the B&B, we'll do business with Geoffrey, have local wines and bring them up and do the tour.
32:09In Fenier, it's almost the moment of truth for Justin and Paul.
32:16I'm thinking we just put them there.
32:19Paul?
32:20As the judges will soon be down for dinner.
32:24Let's light the candles.
32:26Disaster waiting to happen.
32:29No.
32:30No what?
32:31It's adults.
32:32Light them.
32:33Yeah.
32:34And adults knock things over.
32:35Doesn't matter.
32:36Light them.
32:37And in finals week, how they handle the judges' scrutiny will decide their fate.
32:45Hello.
32:46Hello.
32:47Hello, hello.
32:48During the heat week, it was a relaxed house.
32:51It was just a happy, relaxed house.
32:53However, my opinion, they delivered the most underwhelming performance of all our hosts because they went for the really easy route.
33:02Bubble?
33:03Yes, please.
33:04Please, please.
33:05So, they've got a lot more work to do this week to impress us.
33:09Cheers!
33:10Um, shall we go through?
33:11Sure.
33:13They're gonna have to fight tooth and nail to make this happen.
33:20Oh, that's a nice table.
33:23Uh, excuses.
33:24We're gonna be in and out, but I'll start off by letting you know that we're gonna have a couple of starters.
33:29It's a haricot, um, bean hummus.
33:33Nice.
33:34And then we've done a fruit skewer, which hopefully is a little bit different.
33:40And it's not just about impressing us.
33:43It's about us seeing that they really know or feel that they can do it.
33:48Will I bring in the starters?
33:49Yeah.
33:50At the prize house, it's the last supper for the judges.
34:04Personally, I'm loving this, the vinaigrette, because it adds that umami sweetness.
34:08That's fun.
34:09There you go, Josh.
34:10He was really nervous about the vinaigrette.
34:12It works so well.
34:13And the last couple to host.
34:15Cheers!
34:17It's time for the judges to try and get under the skin of the final couple in the competition.
34:26You work so much apart and sort of probably ships in the night a lot of the time.
34:33How have you found being so close together so intensely?
34:38I think from the first heat week, that kind of brought us together.
34:44It's been like we've been funny with each other again.
34:48It kind of reignites your relationship.
34:50Because I think when you've been together for a while, things do kind of plateau.
34:53Yeah.
34:54You know, like you're kind of, oh, I'm doing this and you do that.
34:56And that's the thing we've found is it's reignited our relationship, hasn't it?
35:00Beautiful to hear.
35:01As the hosts head off to prep the main, the judges have a chance to analyse dinner so far.
35:08This is going to sound like a really weird statement.
35:11This view is very grown up and adult.
35:14It feels very city as opposed to country.
35:18It feels sophisticated.
35:20Just the presentation of the table for a star, the detail.
35:24Down to the candles.
35:25We had one with candles that were never lit.
35:31On top, Paul?
35:32Yeah.
35:33Or just enough?
35:34That's all right.
35:35Let them fall.
35:36Oh, they're just sliding off.
35:42It sounds like they're having a right time.
35:44Pushle up at this.
35:45There.
35:50Oh.
35:51Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
35:53Here we go.
35:54Excuse me.
35:55What we've done is we've chose courgettes from our garden.
35:58We did those in 24 hours.
36:02And then, yeah, just a chicken thigh that's been dressed, seasoned with salt and pepper and then lemon.
36:08And it smells lovely.
36:10Lovely presentation.
36:11Really lovely, yeah.
36:12Yeah, it looks very generous and hearty.
36:15Mmm.
36:16That's just good.
36:17Mm-hmm.
36:18So, do you feel that even if you weren't to win this house, that there would be a dramatic shift in one way or another?
36:29I think we've always had the excitement to do this.
36:32If we don't get it, we've had an amazing time, and maybe it'll just fire us up to find another way to get there faster.
36:41If anybody wants more chicken, by the way, there's a few more pieces.
36:48I actually wouldn't mind another piece.
36:50This is so my appetite.
36:58Over at Chateau Rubignac, Nicole and Brett are also about to sit down to dinner.
37:05Oh, I'm hungry, and it smells delicious.
37:08So I have plank salmon on our cedar from just out there, with whole grain mustard and ribbignac honey,
37:17and then focaccia that's just come out the oven.
37:20Lovely.
37:21Smells delicious.
37:22Nicole and Brett are keen to hear how Colette and Patrick juggle running a B&B that serves dinner with family life.
37:30It's a sort of a social thing, it's not just a meal.
37:33We'll get a family with young children speaking to another family with young children.
37:36Yeah.
37:37Oh, we did this yesterday, it was really nice.
37:39Oh, OK.
37:40Let's do that.
37:41The way we work it is we have kids dinner first.
37:44For younger.
37:45For younger children.
37:46OK.
37:47So when we were younger, we used to have kids dinner with the other kids.
37:50Yes, so our kids would eat together.
37:52Oh, that's nice.
37:53Yeah.
37:54It's very nice.
37:55Making relationships.
37:56That's something that we would kind of want in our B&B as well, you know, that family-friendly
38:01feel.
38:02Put your phone aside and talk to each other, yeah.
38:05Exactly.
38:06So, Colette, is it not exhausting for you cooking every night for guests?
38:09Yeah, it is exhausting but it's also really rewarding.
38:12OK.
38:13Thank you so much for a lovely evening.
38:15You showed us how we can integrate our family into running a B&B.
38:19We just have to win.
38:20Well, good luck with that and...
38:21Thank you so much.
38:22Yeah, we're rooting for you.
38:23Bon courage, as they say.
38:24Bon appétit.
38:25Santé.
38:26Santé.
38:27Santé.
38:28Santé.
38:29Santé.
38:31While Nicole and Brett digest what they've learnt, at the prize house Justin and Paul are
38:37hoping to dazzle with dessert.
38:39OK, guys, we'll just make some space.
38:45Here comes pudding.
38:47Final citrus touch.
38:50Biscuit base, spongy interior, citrus glaze.
38:55oh that's beautiful but can i offer one to the girls first so what do i do just pull that go
39:05yeah go away and it's got a little oh unbelievable look at that that's so pretty
39:12isn't it thank you well i think this is definitely worth a picture
39:17oh it looks delicious so how did you make this or shouldn't i ask a really fabulous recipe
39:26from a fantastic petite here who did it herself you didn't make it unfortunately we didn't our
39:34time run out yeah excellent it's a tough question but i need to ask it yeah during the heat week
39:43that when you were offered comments that you were a little bit defensive
39:47and why do you think that was i think we'd worked really hard collectively together um and
39:58it's quite hard we haven't done this we haven't done this situation before um i think it was emotion
40:05i think because we want it so badly and it's it's extraordinarily difficult to be put under the
40:12microscope yeah we want you guys to succeed you obviously want it so badly and you know if if
40:22there's no feedback there's no progress and i think the proof is in the pudding yeah right now because
40:27we see the the improvement from the heat week to today you've gone a long way the proof is in the
40:33pudding as ever said you know it's it's this is a lovely evening thank you very very much it feels
40:39like a dinner party with friends very sophisticated dinner party as the final evening draws to a close
40:54it's a chance for all the hosts to reflect we've done his best and you know we can't do any more
41:01than we've done we've absolutely gone for it this is what we want everything about it it's can you
41:06see there's no hustle and bustle and it's just calming until we get in light but we would definitely
41:13bring our guests here so that's um so we have a little toast to that okay yeah what's up to you
41:19not long it's going on it's been a great experience though it has but it would be even better if we won
41:30justin and paul's time isn't over yet but tonight they've poured their hearts and souls into it
41:37through this whole process we've just tried to be real yeah this is us and this is what you get
41:42well i'm proud of you and i'm proud of you as well but only one couple can walk away with the keys
41:52and it's the judges who'll decide who deserves them our fourth couple and final couple of the week
42:00justin and paul wow what a difference yeah i must say my head is even more scrambled after spending the
42:07evening with them i was expecting them to uh have made some progress but not quite as much as i've
42:14seen back to the check-in so much warmer it was organized and then the gifts oh the gifts were lovely
42:22i've kept mine all night all day i'm sleeping with it tomorrow morning i'll take your pictures of you in
42:28your robes they're really generous hosts and i think they want to have people to stay who end up being
42:36their friends and you know what and it felt like eating with friends this evening yeah it did really
42:43good food i should point out plates cold though and the chicken was a little bit tough you said a very
42:50important thing at dinner is that you felt like it was more of a sophisticated dinner that you'd have
42:54in the city it wasn't quite a village dinner yeah now i asked about their defensiveness when given
43:00feedback um no host has responded with such honesty i think we need to keep in mind that this the
43:09hospitality industry is a you know a sector where you will be facing feedback and uh from your guests
43:16constantly we know that we've been there we've done them so how do you think they stand in the
43:21competition at the moment nicola and roy and justin paul sit as my favorite evenings the most relaxing the
43:28warmest michelle and steve so far have the best business plan and then brett and nicole done the
43:37best food the only ones that are applying to the family market oh my god this is so difficult
43:44justin and paul now have one more chance to wow the judges we're not done yet we've still got lots to do
43:52we need to make the excursion fun we need to make the breakfast tasty we've done well tonight just
43:59need to make sure that we keep it up we need to keep it 10 out of 10. it's thrown it all up in the air
44:05and we still have breakfast and excursion tomorrow and i have absolutely no idea which way i'm supposed
44:11to go with i think tomorrow it's going to be very interesting to hear about everyone's business plan in
44:16depth i think everything's up for grabs i mean it's exciting but it's also terrifying it's terrifying
44:23because we're going to be breaking some dreams let's look in the positive somebody's dream's going
44:28to be made by the end of this week yeah yes next time good morning it's the final showdown
44:36four very very different couples this week the last breakfast is served as suspected the bread
44:42isn't fresh from this morning i need to call that pretzel face the hosts step up to pitch i'm
44:47breaking it hey i'm panican hello everyone welcome and one couple wins the prize of a lifetime
