00:02Tasmanian paramedics and ambulance staff say their current working conditions are dangerous.
00:0814-hour night shifts are just unheard of. Well, they're heard of in Tasmania.
00:13Many of my colleagues don't even want to come in for their next shift.
00:16They've rejected the latest offer from the government,
00:19saying the pay rise doesn't match what was given to police and firefighters.
00:24They also want a rostering overhaul to reduce single officer responses and overtime hours.
00:31We're continually finishing late. We're continually being asked to come in on overtime.
00:36That's not the environment that you want a highly skilled professional to be looking after you.
00:41Though today it was the health minister who was getting a shot in the arm.
00:45Bridget Archer urging Tasmanians to get vaccinated ahead of the winter flu season.
00:51We're encouraging people to get out, roll up your sleeves, get that vaccination for influenza, for COVID, for RSV.
00:59She says it's disappointing paramedics have knocked back the latest offer.
01:04I want our paramedics and our ambulance staff to be able to get a pay rise,
01:08which we have been able to negotiate with other public sector workers.
01:12From Monday, paramedics and ambulance staff will continue their overtime bans
01:17and stop charging interstate and international patients.
01:20The disruptions come as the Greens raise concerns,
01:24with average ambulance response times rising to more than 15 and a half minutes.
01:29And a minute increase in an average figure shows that there is a significant increase in response times,
01:35significant delays over the whole number of ambulance call-outs that there are.
01:40Tasmanians deserve better healthcare than what they're getting under this government, not government spin.
01:45And I think these figures reveal the truth.
01:47The health minister says those wait times fluctuate regularly for a range of reasons.
01:53There is no one in front of the students that they are taking it under this government.
01:53And, we don't know if it's the same way as the doctors are getting out of these medications.
01:54Also, do you want to make a precaution?
01:54So, I'm gonna give you a great opportunity to get married.
01:54So, I'm going to give you a great opportunity to get there.
01:54And then I'm going to give you a great opportunity to get married,
01:54I'm going to give you a little bit more time to the direct Bombay on the show.
01:54But I'm going to give you a great opportunity to get married.
01:55So, that's the next thing I'm gonna give you a little bit more.
