00:01Hello, and welcome to Jury Duty Presents Company Retreat, the audio commentary.
00:09I'm Nick Hatton, executive producer.
00:12Hi, I'm Mark Sully-Saint-Flair, and I play PJ Green.
00:16Hi, I'm Emily Pendergast, and I played Amy Patterson.
00:19Hey, I'm Rachel Colley, and I played Claire Coleman.
00:22Hi, I'm Stephanie Hodge, and I play...
00:25Helen Schaefer.
00:27I forgot.
00:30So, that is following our...
00:32Hello, my name is Anthony Norman, and I am Anthony Norman.
00:37And my name is Alex Bonifer, and I play Doug E. Jr.
00:42And what we just talked over was the hiring process for Anthony, which was real.
00:48You really thought that you were interviewing with Ryan, a character named Kevin, and he really assumed you.
00:55How was that experience, Anthony?
00:58Um, it was very familiar to me.
01:01I've been through a lot of, like, Zoom, FaceTime interviews, so that portion of it was very familiar.
01:07I was a little nervous just because this job was a very cool job, the way they presented it to
01:12me, so I really wanted it.
01:13And I was happy I got it.
01:16What was cool about, like, what were you, what were you like, oh, this sounds awesome.
01:45Um...
01:45I was happy to get paid to do easy, temporary work.
01:52Introduce yourself and tell us where we are.
01:54Okay.
01:55Um, hello, my name is Anthony Norman.
01:57Um, I'm here at...
01:59It's almost suspiciously attractive as a job.
02:01Yeah, yeah.
02:02I literally thought it was a scam when I first applied.
02:05I, whenever I got my hotel reservations, I called the hotel and was like, yo, do I really have a,
02:09like, is it in my name?
02:10And they're like, yeah.
02:11That's awesome.
02:13I really love when Anthony forgot the name of the company.
02:17Yeah, I'm not sure where I'm supposed to report today.
02:18You're probably going to meet with Kevin.
02:20He's just not in yet.
02:21So, yeah, you could just have a seat, and once he's in, I'll get him for you.
02:23PJ, how'd you feel right there?
02:24Because that was the very first...
02:26Dude, I was pooping my pants.
02:28I was so nervous.
02:30I'm the first face you see, and I'm like, I don't want to blow it.
02:32I don't want to blow it.
02:33I want to apologize.
02:34I called you PJ, Mark Sully.
02:36No, it's all good.
02:37Yeah.
02:38You want to try this?
02:39Everyone's still in my phone as their characters.
02:41Oh, absolutely.
02:41Same.
02:42All right.
02:43You don't get to try these flavors every day.
02:44Mark.
02:45I love that you immediately said, no, I'm good.
02:47Yeah.
02:48No, thank you.
02:49That's gross.
02:50If you saw the bag, you would understand.
02:52Yeah, no, for sure.
02:53Trust me, I went through so many of them.
02:55Also, what was scary was when you sat down, you were like, so where are we doing this retreat?
02:59And you immediately started Googling it.
03:01I was freaking out, texting production.
03:03He's Googling.
03:04I don't know what to do.
03:04Should I run?
03:06Because I genuinely didn't know.
03:08Before I even came out here, I was just Googling retreat spots.
03:11In LA, where could we possibly be?
03:13I didn't know how to pack.
03:14That's why I had all these college shirts, because I thought I was going to be in a building or
03:17an office area.
03:19Nope, you're in the woods.
03:20Yeah.
03:21But anytime we see the computer, I think of all of our Slack messages.
03:25I'm going like, he's walking, he's exploring.
03:27Go, go, go, go.
03:28We had full days of having to come up with busy work and pretend like we were working.
03:36Boring, long days.
03:38And some of the phone calls that you could hear coming from other people's offices.
03:42Well, I kept ringing that phone, and I have still to this day, like, 40 unheard voicemails that I left
03:48to myself.
03:49Because there was never anyone else on the phone.
03:51Totally same.
03:52Because our owners.
03:53I was actually calling around to different Taco Bells to see how much sauce they'd let me take.
03:59If one of us got, like, one of those, like, joke chain emails or something like that.
04:03It's so great that Jimmy touches the time capsule here.
04:05Isn't that great story seating?
04:06It's so great.
04:18It was in this moment right here.
04:20I knew I was going to like Jimmy.
04:21Really?
04:22That's awesome.
04:22I ribbed Jimmy all the time.
04:24But he has come a very long way.
04:27The frames on Lanisa.
04:28Lanisa had the frame game.
04:30Yes.
04:30Those glasses always popped.
04:32I did a lot.
04:33The new Jimmy?
04:362,446 days sober.
04:39Warehouse.
04:39God dang.
04:40The king of a bit.
04:41I hated going against Jimmy because he just always keeps going.
04:44It's like, Jimmy, the bit is done.
04:46Leave me alone.
04:46Uh-uh.
04:48Oh, that walking treadmill.
04:50She got miles on those things.
04:53And would fall sometimes, though.
04:54Yep.
04:55Like, I would hear just, like, stud.
04:56Yeah, because it was a tiny treadmill.
04:58It was so small.
04:58And a tiny office for two people to share.
05:01Isn't that so funny?
05:03Not really.
05:05Good morning, Helen.
05:06Stephanie.
05:07This is our accountant, Helen.
05:08Hello.
05:08This is Anthony.
05:09Hi, Anthony.
05:10I've been cooking the books here for 20 years.
05:13Stephanie, we had real, correct me if I'm wrong, but our prop master, Rebecca Tendik,
05:17rigged that mug so that there was bourbon in there if you wanted to sip it.
05:22But there was also non-
05:22Wasn't there, like, a trap inside?
05:23There was a trap door underneath.
05:25Yeah.
05:25The soda that actually had bourbon in it, but there was a little leakage going on with
05:31the bourbon.
05:32Nice.
05:32Not a problem.
05:33Wait, so you were getting toasty?
05:36Well, I was relaxed.
05:39It was getting method, you know?
05:42I also remember, because obviously Rachel and Blair weren't here, you know, at the offices,
05:48and they just getting texts, like, going, like, how is he?
05:51Like, how's it going?
05:52Like, it was so weird.
05:54Yeah, I had no idea what was going on.
05:55Yeah.
05:57Which is, like, pretty common.
05:59Definitely.
06:01Now, we asked Jerry, Doug Sr., to be stern in this scene, although he didn't even acknowledge
06:08your presence when you came into the room.
06:10So then he talked afterwards, being like, what do you think of the boss?
06:12It's like, kind of a serious guy.
06:14Jerry, just because, you know, he's obviously the big boss man.
06:17He didn't even look up at me.
06:18Did I go to reach for a Werther's right there?
06:21No, no, no.
06:21Okay.
06:21He offered it.
06:23He, he, he, well, not after, no, not right there he did, but later on, he offered it.
06:27Offered it.
06:27Yeah.
06:27And how brilliant to have, you know, Wendy or Elizabeth there.
06:32Yeah.
06:33Because, I mean, you don't forget that red hair.
06:36Especially me.
06:36Yeah.
06:39Oh.
06:40Well, this scene, because we wanted it to feel really, like, very, very natural, and, like,
06:44getting you into this without feeling like you were being recorded.
06:47We had no visible cameras in this scene when you meet Doug.
06:49It was really important to you guys to establish a rapport without having cameras around.
06:53And, no, you weren't mic'd here, either.
06:55The mic in this scene was, they were all hidden in the room by our production sound mix of Blazkisic
07:00and his team.
07:01So, no mics, no cameras visible.
07:03So, this was, you guys thought it was an entirely private conversation as you got to know each other.
07:07And this was, had to have been close to an hour that we were in there.
07:12And there was, there's a camera in the hide right behind my head there.
07:16And if I remember correctly, something was blocking it.
07:18And I had to go in and slide it over before we got going.
07:23There goes that idea.
07:23Anthony, I love how earnest you are throughout the whole process.
07:26But also, like, you're just so honest.
07:28Like, that's what was killing me when I was watching it.
07:30Just going, like, have you heard of Jive Profits?
07:32No.
07:33Yeah.
07:34Do you like this hospital?
07:36No.
07:36But, it really killed me.
07:40Yeah, right?
07:41Just so, you, which is great.
07:44Rocking out.
07:44What we also don't show is that Anthony is doing about four hours worth of very bloody office work.
07:51These, like, what it is, like, it is pamphlets, essentially.
07:54Mailers.
07:54Mailers, right, right.
07:55Mailers, yeah.
07:56But also, you're at it.
07:57Oh, go, no, please, go.
07:58I would say, while y'all were doing no work, I was doing all.
08:01And Erika, that scene, when Erika went in.
08:04And she was like, you're not folding it right.
08:06Folding it correctly.
08:06If you don't get out of here.
08:09She walked back sweating, going, like, oh, my God, he hates me.
08:13To run rotten grandmas than he is to run.
08:15But you were always so, like, your attitude towards anything you were asked to do was always just so fantastic.
08:21Yep, 100%.
08:22You know what I mean?
08:22So positive.
08:23Yeah.
08:24100%.
08:24Out the gate.
08:25So down to clown.
08:26I was there to do my best.
08:28I love you guys.
08:29But in my mind, I was showing up to be the best assistant that I could possibly be.
08:35We really felt that the whole time.
08:37You never wavered.
08:38No, I know that she knows it's her birthday, dog.
08:42Today's a really big day.
08:43Anthony, do you remember what your first, like, impression of everyone was?
08:48Like, when I first walked in the office?
08:52Or, like, yeah.
08:54I mean, there was no, like, first impression that just, like, really just.
08:58Uh, actually.
08:59There was probably so much to take in, too.
09:01Other Anthony Robb.
09:02His first impression did kind of, like, jump out at me.
09:04I mean, meeting him in the supply closet alone at S's office.
09:08And then there's one scene that I don't think it made the cut.
09:10But when I walked in, he spills water all over his computer.
09:13Oh, right.
09:14Like, so.
09:16And I just felt so bad for him.
09:19Oh, beautiful.
09:20That's my guy right there.
09:21Well, he's my, he, like I said, he's my guy.
09:22And at any time, you'd hear Anthony and Robb would just go, what?
09:27Huh?
09:28Huh?
09:29Anna.
09:30Anna.
09:30Anna.
09:31No, that's cool.
09:32No, it's okay.
09:33Oh, yeah.
09:34He sprinted down the hallway once, right?
09:37Oh, my God.
09:37Yeah.
09:37When we, oh, my God.
09:39Oh, when PJ called?
09:40Yeah.
09:40We had, we'd run that bit multiple times.
09:44Just him going up and down the hallway with Kevin shouting out, Anthony.
09:47Anthony.
09:48I'm seeing the best version that we could get.
09:51Oh, yeah.
09:52It was.
09:52Isn't she great?
09:53Did you actually think they were dating?
09:56I mean, I, the way she said, love you, Kevi.
09:59Yeah.
09:59You know, I didn't think that they were necessarily dating, but I thought there was some, some sort of chemistry
10:04there.
10:06That's awesome.
10:07That's a bloody good question.
10:08Because this moment must have felt, to us, felt insane.
10:10Yes.
10:11I was happy for him, right?
10:13He was amazing.
10:14Heck yeah, man.
10:15That's exciting.
10:16I love that there was a little light on the ring.
10:20How would you do it if you were going to do it?
10:22How would you do it?
10:24It kind of depends on her and, like, what she likes.
10:26To me, she seems like the outgoing type.
10:28I would probably go for, like, the in front of everybody, especially because y'all are a close-knit family.
10:32I think you're right.
10:34What we don't show is during the birthday party, Emily going up to Anthony while he's
10:40slicing the cake, and on three separate occasions, saying something along the lines of,
10:43I just love being the center of attention.
10:47And then going, like, make it really clear.
10:49Go up again, get another piece of cake, and tell him you like being the center of attention.
10:53That went over my head.
10:55Thank God, because it felt wild to me.
11:04Excited to get to the retreat.
11:05Was he a good driver?
11:07He was safe.
11:09Everybody who drove me during this experience was taking their time, and they were just being sick.
11:14I remember Ryan said he was so nervous to drive me.
11:15So terrifying.
11:16Oh, my God.
11:17I can only imagine.
11:18No safety net as well.
11:19He's carrying the show with him in his car.
11:23Our anchor.
11:23No, like, communication.
11:24That's tough.
11:25Yeah.
11:27And then our home.
11:28Okay.
11:29There it is.
11:30Woo.
11:33Yeah, this is cool.
11:34Oh, my God.
11:35Oh, yeah.
11:36I've only seen pictures of this gazebo thing.
11:39Not everyone has to notice the yurt.
11:42Oh, my God.
11:44Or the pool.
11:45You guys don't know there's a pool.
11:46Don't look at it.
11:49A yurt, a yurt, a yurt, a yurt.
11:51Whoa, check out this yurt.
11:52Hey, is that a yurt over there?
11:53Immediately out of the...
11:54That wasn't here last year.
11:55It's definitely called a yurt.
11:57It's called a yurt and not anything else.
11:59How do you spell that?
12:00Yeah.
12:00You're going to be a lieutenant partner.
12:01Yes.
12:02And so...
12:02Do I get a hat, too?
12:03Also, Ryan's saying that he's a bit of a hard ass.
12:05Yeah.
12:06Careless to speak.
12:07You not getting a hat and wanting it made me laugh so hard.
12:11You're like, so I don't get a hat?
12:12He was just pulling stuff out the trunk.
12:13I just knew he was going to come out with another hat.
12:16Because I'm his assistant in our job.
12:18What did you think, Anthony, when you first rolled up to Oak Canyon?
12:21Was it more than what you thought?
12:23Cooler?
12:24Bigger?
12:26So it wasn't as cool as I hoped it would have been, but it was cooler than what I...
12:32There's that honesty.
12:34Yeah.
12:35No, it's invested.
12:35Not like, in my head, I'm thinking we're going to go to this beach where they got, you know, beachfront
12:41property.
12:41You know, that's the L.A. retreat I'm thinking about.
12:44I'm sorry that we built an entirely new pool for him.
12:49But when I was told that we were going to go camping, I was a little bit let down.
12:53And then when I got here, I was like, oh, this is lit.
12:55Like, I was very appreciative.
12:57Glimping.
12:57Nice.
12:58Oh, my God.
13:00Blair's fear in her eyes.
13:02The iconic Blair Beekman.
13:03I mean, come on.
13:05Also, when we were pulling up in this van, we were like theater kids.
13:09Yes.
13:09We had such this, like, giddy, kinetic energy that I, to this day...
13:15Just waiting.
13:16I think we all have videos of us in the game going like...
13:19Yeah.
13:20Yeah.
13:21I love that heart.
13:23Yeah, baby.
13:24Good one for yourself.
13:25Nice.
13:25What was your impression of this?
13:28Of what?
13:28Of us getting off the van and the chili pepper necklaces and the...
13:33I mean, I think it's a great way to kind of kick it off.
13:36I mean, it might be a little silly, but it definitely gets the energy up.
13:39Like, everybody's kind of happy and dancing, and I think it's a good way to start it.
13:43Did you feel like this was a family-owned business?
13:45Like, really tight group of people?
13:48Is that what came across to you?
13:49Yes, for sure.
13:50I understood that before we even got to the property.
13:54There she goes.
13:55There she is.
13:56Come on.
13:57Iconic television entrance.
14:00I was so...
14:02I knew...
14:02Or, I don't know what you thought of me when you first saw me, but I was like, it is
14:06going
14:06to take a while for him to warm up to me.
14:09Really?
14:10And do you think it took a while, or did I warm up quicker than you thought?
14:12I mean, you warmed up quick.
14:14You were so nice to everyone.
14:15But I was like, what?
14:16But you're both like, I mean, and then, again, like, such a great seed that you're talking
14:21about, like, both outsiders, you know, from never having been in person.
14:26Of course.
14:27Oh, God.
14:27Of course.
14:28Of course.
14:43Of course.
14:44Just your tone in the group interviews of your voice would kill me.
14:47Before he dies.
14:49Yeah, it's his last one.
14:51Nice.
14:51He's retiring.
14:53Not because he's dying?
14:54No, he's not sick.
14:56Stop.
14:59Right here, I was like, yeah, she definitely separated herself, but she's going to be the
15:02outlier.
15:03Yeah, yeah.
15:06This is my favorite shot.
15:07Same.
15:08That.
15:08Oh, my God.
15:10Oh, no.
15:11Like, she thinks it's going to happen right now.
15:15How was the drive-in?
15:16Okay.
15:17Yeah.
15:18I know you don't ever go on a bus, but we can.
15:20For you guys as performers, just like, you know that there are cameras on you, but we're
15:23at a distance here, and you're left by yourself, so, like, 45 minutes, and just live the scene,
15:28be the company, be all the people.
15:30So, I think that allowed me to open up to him.
15:33Hey, man, you have to show me something.
15:34Well, like, when we first started, I remember Jake Szymanski, our director, distinctly saying
15:40the reason the first season worked is because those people were, like, 90% themselves, and
15:44I just felt like I really held on to that, and I was like, right, I'm still me.
15:48I'm playing a character, but that is where I really leaned into those long stretches where
15:53it's like, okay, be believable, you know?
15:57And getting to know, like, each other's point of views, too.
16:01It's so fun to, like, you know, lift each other up.
16:03Like, Kate, Erica was on her phone constantly in here, like, trying to, like, settle business
16:07deals, and it was annoying all of us as characters, and we're like, put your phone away, be present.
16:11So, it was so fun to, like, know how each other felt, too.
16:15Yeah.
16:16And it was so nice to watch you, Alex, make this relationship, this connection with our
16:22hero.
16:23It was so easy.
16:24I knew we were going to get along from the conference room.
16:27Yep.
16:27And it, yeah, we, I mean, all of the nights we were playing chess, the events with Warren, who
16:35played Steve, ping pong battles, all that stuff.
16:39Yeah.
16:39That carried so much weight.
16:41That was a crucial, the most crucial dynamic, I think, for Anthony and any cast member was
16:48you, because, you know, ultimately, it is your story to a degree of, like, you know, taking
16:52this company over.
16:54And Anthony had to root for you.
16:57And if that didn't work, if you guys had, did not connect in that way, then it would
17:00have been bad.
17:02Yeah.
17:03And the whole thing would have fallen apart.
17:04Your great-grandmother.
17:06When she used to make hot sauce in our kitchen when I was a little girl.
17:09Alex, will you talk about the gift idea?
17:10My grandmother.
17:11Please?
17:12The gift idea.
17:13Oh, my God.
17:13Please.
17:14Oh, I so forgot about that.
17:15So, what we didn't see in the office was Anthony went around getting, with a camcorder,
17:21to send everyone a happy retirement video.
17:26And I asked him, like, what do you, you know, dog, what do you think I should, like, get
17:29my, I don't know what my dad, what I should get him.
17:33And asking this guy I just met, what I should get my dad.
17:38And what was it?
17:39It was an apron.
17:40You're like, and he's a, he's a, a Dallas Cowboys fan.
17:44So, I think I got, did I get him an apron with a, I think it was a pop-up.
17:48Oh, a pop-up bear.
17:49That's right.
17:49And then, so our amazing, again, costume and props department turned around in 24 hours.
17:54Whatever Anthony, whatever came out of Anthony's mouth in that moment, we then had to put
17:58into play the very following day.
18:00So, I'm holding it in my hand there.
18:02We didn't reference it, but I'm holding that apron.
18:04Whatever you were going to say, we were going to have.
18:06All that work, we cut out.
18:09Oh, boy.
18:10How long do you give Dougie?
18:12I don't know.
18:13He's so nice, and he has such big hair.
18:16Oh, God.
18:17We're so f***ed.
18:28So, how are you feeling about the retreat, Anthony?
18:30Oh, I'm feeling really good about the whole thing.
18:34Like, I'm super, like, which...
18:36We would forget he was back there.
18:37Always.
18:38We would forget.
18:39Every time.
18:40It's confusing.
18:41I got so scared when he spoke, because I was like, there's no way I can keep it together.
18:45Yes.
18:46Yes.
18:46Lathan, the genius.
18:47My God.
18:48Also, talk about being 90% yourself.
18:50Oh, my God.
18:51For real.
18:53First nickname?
18:54Yeah, I've never really had a nickname.
18:55It's a longer name.
18:57Yeah.
18:57That's a long nickname.
18:58I just want to do, real quick, like, take the spoon and say, like, your intentions are
19:03further retreat.
19:04This is my first one.
19:05What is the voice you're doing as this character?
19:07I'm just kind of finding it a little bit, it's sort of, like, in the, yeah, kind of
19:11back up here.
19:12Yeah.
19:12It's sort of, so I went to, I went to college in San Diego, and that's, like, legit, so many
19:18dudes will just talk like that, dog.
19:19So, it's kind of, like, in the upper back part of your throat, is where it's coming out
19:23of.
19:24Yeah, just looking forward to proving that.
19:27Anthony, did you ever think, like, wow, they have really great breakfast and really great
19:33lunch, and then I have to go get dinner?
19:36Yeah.
19:37Eat that?
19:39It wasn't about how good the food was, but I was, like, we're eating a lot.
19:44We eat a lot.
19:45I didn't think about that.
19:46Food was so good.
19:48Who am I to, you know, who am I to?
19:50Less.
19:50I'm going to be, like, turning the heat on.
19:52Did you think it was, like, a really successful company?
19:55It's a science experiment.
19:57I mean, eventually I got to that assumption, but at first I didn't assume that.
20:01Yeah, yeah, yeah.
20:02So, y'all started throwing numbers out at me, and I started to understand, and, yeah.
20:07Remember the time caps?
20:08Jimmy's face.
20:08We're going to do that.
20:09Add that to the list.
20:10Getting a retreat spot like this, and just everything that went into it would make me
20:16think that the company was probably well off.
20:18There was so much, like, we had to kind of really know the answers to questions you might
20:23ask of, like, how much was our salary?
20:25Like, there was so much, like, thought that went into that, and then sometimes nothing would
20:30come up, but I was always, like, I wonder what he thinks about this.
20:33Yeah.
20:34How much were you supposed to be getting paid?
20:36I think, like, 50 to 60, personally.
20:39Yeah, we had a full salary roster.
20:42Yeah.
20:42We brought in a hot sauce consultant who works in the hot sauce business to give us, like,
20:49the rundown of how it all works.
20:51I mean, that was, like, two hours of...
20:53The Scoville scale.
20:54Yeah.
20:55We had a whole Bible of, like, all of our information, our backgrounds, like, where we're from, how long
21:01we've been here.
21:02The farm.
21:03Who turns on the lights, who turns off the lights, where the AC is, the pension plans,
21:08healthcare, we had everything built in case any of that stuff ever came out, a full company
21:13dossier.
21:14And you were so inquisitive, so you would ask questions.
21:17See, and that's, y'all say that, and I'm looking back at them, like, damn, I wish I would
21:20have asked more questions.
21:21I'm asking no.
21:22I don't.
21:23We're glad you didn't.
21:24You did just the no.
21:25Go, go, go, go.
21:26Oh, here's the, I think, a truly psychotic moment.
21:29Right here, looking at Kevin's face, I saw the fear of death in his face.
21:34I was so scared for him.
21:36I was so nervous.
21:38Yeah.
21:39It was so scared.
21:41I feel like we were talking about this moment, like, is he gonna buy in?
21:45Like, if this goes well, we're okay, but if not, then we're kind of not.
21:49Yeah.
21:50It was a huge, huge swing for the first episode.
21:53Yeah.
21:54He'd never been on a date with her.
21:55He's a little.
21:57Yeah.
21:59And I remember, in my ear, Jake said, Anthony told him to take off the hat, so make sure
22:05you mention the hat.
22:07That's right, darling.
22:09And we then and there made a promise to each other that if we both.
22:11Anthony, did you think that Kevin set all this up with, like, the lights and the rose
22:17petals and everything?
22:18Oh, I guess.
22:19For sure.
22:20Yeah.
22:24I like Steve's face here, as well.
22:25Mm-hmm.
22:26Will you marry me?
22:28Oh.
22:29Oh.
22:30Kevin.
22:32Kevin, no.
22:33No.
22:34Oh.
22:35How did that feel to hear?
22:37At first, it didn't.
22:38I was so focused on recording.
22:40Like, I didn't really register what she had said.
22:42You've never even been on a date.
22:43Oh, no.
22:44We went out to dinner the other night for your birthday.
22:47Yeah, but it was me and you and eight of my other girlfriends.
22:49Oh, my God.
22:50Eight.
22:51Eight of my other girlfriends.
22:51That's how it felt when I realized.
22:53Yeah, yeah, yeah.
22:54I should probably stop recording.
22:56Can I have a proposal that hat on?
22:58Oh, no, no, no.
22:59No.
23:00Ryan here is absolutely.
23:02Genius.
23:03Unbelievable.
23:03Top class.
23:04So good.
23:05He made it so easy to act with.
23:08Like, oh, my God.
23:12Mark Sully said it, but, like, what an anchor to this whole thing he is.
23:17This was one moment where I didn't know what to say.
23:19Yeah.
23:20It's a joke.
23:21Wait, is this, like, a joke that you do that?
23:24Blair.
23:26Congrats on the joke.
23:27Congrats on the joke.
23:29Get out of here.
23:30It strikes again, everybody.
23:31It's all right.
23:32It wasn't a great joke, but, no.
23:34Oh, Anthony.
23:34God bless you.
23:35Yeah, even in this moment, you just said, it's a joke.
23:37It's a joke.
23:38Everyone, it's a joke.
23:39But you knew, and you still had his back.
23:42Yeah.
23:42Come on, guys.
23:43And I, look at that face.
23:45Yeah.
23:45This sequence here is really, I think, really remarkable.
23:49The way that you have it out.
23:50Ron, guys, you threw it.
23:51Just.
23:53That actually was not a joke.
23:54Yeah, so right now, I'm just kind of trying to put myself in his shoes.
23:58You know, I've never proposed to anybody.
24:00But to kind of piggyback off your question, you said, did I believe it?
24:03Well, if you love somebody that much, what he did was kind of simple, you know?
24:06So, I very much did believe it, and I just wanted to put myself in his shoes and kind
24:10of just be there for him.
24:11So, maybe she doesn't.
24:12Like, she's probably really confused now.
24:14She's probably really confused.
24:15Yeah, but that's what you did so much is just put yourself in other people's shoes.
24:20It's so selfless.
24:21You're just great.
24:23So funny.
24:24This part, too.
24:24Who?
24:25Is it the hat?
24:26No.
24:29But so nice about it.
24:32Very nice.
24:33Very nice.
24:33Do you see the sign under new management?
24:37Yeah.
24:39Printed it at the office.
24:40Yes.
24:40This is amazing.
24:43So, the whole time, I didn't even realize.
24:45I just leaned on his bed at the back of his car.
24:47Okay.
24:47Mm-hmm.
24:48So, I think I'm going to go because I can't face Amy right now, and I can't face anybody
24:54I love Ryan so much.
24:55The crush, the embarrassment.
24:57He played it all so good.
24:58You know, you got this.
24:59Yeah, I got it.
25:00Do you not want to go back and get that ring that you threw?
25:04You're like, that's your money, man.
25:06Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
25:07You don't want to just leave it.
25:08It's worth about eight grand.
25:10Oh, my God.
25:13He's just shot out of a cannon.
25:14Yeah.
25:15I appreciate it.
25:15I appreciate it.
25:16I really appreciate you.
25:17Yes, sir.
25:17Everything's...
25:18I feel like he's using his nervousness and playing into it.
25:21Yeah.
25:21Totally.
25:22By the way, just tell him I left, not because I'm embarrassed or something, just tell him I
25:25had diarrhea.
25:25Tell him I got something.
25:28Tell him I had diarrhea, much less embarrassed.
25:30Yes, yes.
25:31I remember being so nervous over by those, the lunch area, you know, and, and Stephanie
25:40and Linnieson.
25:41Oh, my gosh.
25:42Stephanie Linnieson and Mark Sully, just so they were like, we're going to support you
25:46because I was like, you're going to hate me.
25:47I was so worried that you're going to be mad at me.
25:49You know, because like that turn felt like to go like, okay, I'm okay now.
25:53But you guys were just like, you can even hear Stephanie, Helen's like, you know, like
25:58you stood up for yourself.
25:59It was just, everyone was so helpful in that moment.
26:03You can see here wasn't a joke.
26:06It was on me's left because he's embarrassed.
26:07Right here, I'm like, you're fucking weirdo.
26:09You're talking to yourself.
26:10It is so funny.
26:12It's so good.
26:13Keep in mind, we're in the control room just watching, listening to you.
26:16And it's like, he's, he's literally articulating where he is emotionally right now.
26:19This is incredible.
26:20I was wondering, what about sexting?
26:24No.
26:25Tasteful nudes.
26:25Tasteful nudes.
26:26Tasteful nudes that just put me standing up and saying the right thing.
26:30Listen to Mama Helen.
26:31Yeah, right there.
26:33I'm not quite sure how to handle this situation.
26:35Can we step over?
26:36This moment.
26:37This is when I was like, oh, he is rocking with us.
26:40He left.
26:41Okay.
26:42Because he was embarrassed.
26:43He told me not to tell them that.
26:45Okay.
26:46He said, just make something up, and I'm like, this is your company.
26:49Like, I don't, you know, I'm a temporary worker.
26:51I don't know if he told you the whole day.
26:52I haven't been with them.
26:53I don't, yeah, I don't know.
26:53Okay, so I've only been with them for like three days.
26:55It was like.
26:56Another rock of this whole thing.
26:58I don't blame you if you wanted to leave too.
27:01Ooh.
27:06I call it the rules of the world, which is a really important role to be able to, you know,
27:10to keep everything contained.
27:10Yeah, she set the parameters, you know.
27:13Yeah, it's a really, really tough role.
27:14But, you know, it's a lot like Sheeds in the first season as the bailiff.
27:18It's kind of a similar role.
27:19Yeah, she's the authority of this place.
27:21It's a tough thing to do.
27:22And he had to, you, Anthony, had to like really respect her.
27:26Yeah.
27:26So she had to, you know what I mean?
27:27Just like, you know, it was important for you and I to forge a real friendship.
27:33It was also important, I think, for her to forge that line of authority, but also still
27:37someone that you could come and talk to like you just did.
27:40I thought it was brilliant.
27:41I didn't realize that she said you can leave.
27:44Yeah.
27:45I mean, like.
27:45I didn't realize that either.
27:46When I watched it, I was like, oh my God, he could have left me.
27:48Yeah.
27:49Talk about a gamble if you're like, yeah, I think I'm going to head back.
27:52This is all weird.
27:53Yeah, I can't do this anymore.
27:55That would have been even, after the first, the start of this, and then I just leave too,
27:59that would have made it worse.
28:00Yeah.
28:01We would have had a show.
28:02We would not be here right now.
28:03A place that cares about you, it's so easy to give your all.
28:08Cutie.
28:08Let's do it.
28:10Hey.
28:11Oh, there it is.
28:13Jerk.
28:14Making sure that the transition from Doug to Dougie Jr. goes smoothly, and that's a lot
28:19of what this retreat is about.
28:20It's like when you get a feeling in the pit.
28:22Sometimes in the group shots, I'm too short.
28:24You can't see me.
28:29That cut.
28:29The cans.
28:30He's still got the cans.
28:32We were dying laughing at those cans going up that giant hill.
28:36Thank God you had to find that ring, because you would have came over, we would have been
28:38crying laughing.
28:38Oh, yeah.
28:39There were so many times where we just had, like, when we knew you were on the other side,
28:43that was one where we were like, get your girls out.
28:44Get them out.
28:45Get them out.
28:45Get them out.
28:46And amazing that you found the ring, because then we were able to turn it into his diamond earring,
28:51Lacer Rises.
28:51Oh, my God.
28:52I did not know that.
28:54I loved that.
28:55That is so funny.
28:56Y'all actually turned it into the...
28:57Yeah.
28:58I mean, obviously, we had a double, but we needed you to find it, otherwise we couldn't
29:01play that.
29:03Isn't that so funny?
29:04So, if he threw it too far into the creek, we would have been buggered, but luckily it
29:08landed where it did.
29:09But if you look at him toss it, he's just tossing it out there, but he found it immediately.
29:13I just hope I can make this...
29:14When you shut the camera, you're like, all right.
29:16Unreal.
29:18Can I yell?
29:19Oh, my God.
29:21Totally fabulous.
29:29This season on Company Retreat...
29:31There's been a robbery!
29:32You can search my room.
29:33What?
29:34So, just because it was the interview, there's two interviews where I'm speaking differently,
29:40and it's because I'm intoxicated, and immediately I could tell.
29:42I was like, what are you doing?
29:46We'll let the audience figure out which one it is.
29:47Yeah, right?
29:48Ooh, a little Easter egg.
29:49I want y'all to try to guess.
29:50Dougie!
29:52Dougie!
29:53Dougie!
29:54I just want a couple!
29:56Who's that?
29:57Oh, f***.
29:58Bro.
30:00Bro.
30:03This feels crazy.
30:04Is this crazy?
30:05Put it down.
30:07Put it down!
30:08Dougie Jr.
30:13Keep going!
30:14Stop him!
30:15Get up.
30:16Get up!
30:17If I go home and tell my parents about this stuff, they're going to be like, you're lying.
30:32He's brave!
30:37I'll go home and tell my autocadence.
30:38Bye.
30:39Bye.
30:42Bye.
30:47Bye.
30:52Bye.
30:53Bye.
30:53Bye.
30:54Bye.
30:55Bye.
