00:30Welcome to Warragul, a place that holds a very dear spot in my heart.
00:34So I absolutely adore this region and this is actually one of the fastest growing areas in the state.
00:40You see we're around about an hour from the heart of Melbourne.
00:43We're close to ski fields, we're close to beaches, it has it all.
00:47And that is the reason why today's buyers love the area but they want to move closer to town.
00:53There's a little bit more traffic these days.
00:54So I found three homes for them that are quite close to the heart of Warragul.
00:59So how about we go and meet Jackie and Peter and we have a good old sticky beak around Warragul.

01:17This is incredible to see how this area is moving ahead at a rapid pace.
01:24Yeah, it's really evolved.
01:25Why do you want to move here?
01:28We want to move here to be close to town for our kids.
01:37We met at Safeway in Wonthaggie.
01:40I got a job in the deli and Pete was doing a traineeship.
01:44He was in fruit and veg and then he was in the deli and that's where I was.
01:52We hung out a bit for about a year and then we went our separate ways.
01:56Jackie had two children, I had one child. Then we got back together and we had two kids together.
02:02We live in Niram South in West Gippsland. It's a beautiful little country hamlet. We love it there.
02:08The main reason is for our younger children who are now working and sport and school is all in Warragul
02:16and we're sick of driving into town.
02:19We want our children to be independent. They should be able to ride to school, catch the train if they
02:24want to go to basketball, footy training.
02:27We want them to be independent so we've got free time.
02:30Yeah. We're looking for a home.
02:32We are looking for a home. It needs to be something we love and it needs to cater for all
02:38the children and friends.
02:39We want the convenience of being in town.

02:42Where we are now at Niram South, there's no Uber, no taxis pretty much.

02:50Ideally, it has to be minimum four bedrooms. More the better.

03:23It is no wonder families like Jackie and Peter are ready to make the move closer to the heart of

17:05Club to meet some of the local swingers, or should I say golfers, and get a feel for
17:11why this place is absolutely beloved by the locals.
17:17Women love coming to this country club, is that right?
17:20Women do love coming to this country club.
17:22We have 160 women that are golf members and 680 men and women.
17:28And you can play a social round and just pay the fee.
17:31That's nice.
17:31We've got all different membership fees to accommodate young boys and young girls
17:36and people who want to just be summer members or you can just come and have a social round
17:41of golf and you don't have to be a member.
17:42So, we also have, we've had PGA major events here before too.
17:48So, I can imagine because that course is so beautiful that I can see on TV.
17:54Yeah, it looks fantastic on the television and that's given us a great profile for our
17:59club.
17:59So, yeah.
18:00So, what makes this place unusual?
18:03The Warragul Country Club is very central to Warragul.
18:06A lot of the other country clubs and golf courses around the area are out of town.
18:11So, we're very fortunate and we have got a beautiful 18 hole course.
18:15It feels like you've just got it all here.
18:17Is that right?
18:18We do.
18:19We have a great cafe out there that gives us lovely casual food and coffee.
18:24The staff are fantastic, of course.
18:26Nice bar.
18:26Yeah, good bar.
18:28We've got a lovely bistro that you can come to as well.
18:31We have the lounge up here that's a nice relaxed atmosphere.
18:34We do have the best of both worlds here, I think, because we are only really 100 kilometres
18:39east of Melbourne.

18:40We're 100 kilometres from the beach, 100 kilometres to the snow and a couple of
18:45hours drive to the Gippsland Lake.
18:47So, we're very central and I think that's why people find it a great place to live.
18:54Well, Warragul clearly has lifestyle covered, but for Jackie and Peter, it all comes down
19:01to the right home in the exact right location.

19:13It still does actually have that country town feel, but I also understand life is in

19:21So, I understand the challenges that you are facing having a look at all of our different
19:26homes.
19:26Now, looking back on those three houses, how did you feel?
19:30Well, the first one, I mean, I loved.
19:34You liked that straight away.
19:35Yeah, I did.
19:36And I loved the layout and the pool at the front and the fact that there was no neighbours
19:42behind.
19:44Loved it.
19:44I loved the double doors on each side with light and air.
19:49Yeah.
19:49It's really terrific.
19:50It just was a tad too small and it was out of town.

19:55Bit too far.
19:56Which leads us to house number two.

19:58That one was in town, but was it your style?
20:01I mean, it had the great studio out the back.
20:03The location was spot on, but I wasn't that keen to have all the bedrooms upstairs.
20:09You know, with all the children and us, like everyone upstairs and just running up and
20:14down the stairs, you'd hear it all the time and yeah.
20:17So, that leads me to number three on the three acres, that incredible lifestyle property.
20:23It was only four minutes drive from town.
20:26I really liked the house and it made me second guess, you know, what we're trying to achieve.

20:33There's so much thought in the layout of the house, in the way it had been finished.
20:37The garden was beautiful.
20:39The garage, the shed was just the bomb.

20:43It was absolutely fantastic.
20:45But I still want to go back to what we are true about and that is being walking distance
20:50to everything we need.
20:52There wouldn't be much point in moving from where we are to there.
20:58But yeah, but we need to be in town.
21:00We want our kids to be independent because where we currently are, there's no services.

21:05Yeah, nothing.
21:06So, if anything, what we've learned from our house hunt together is you are now confirmed,
21:13I want to be right in the heart of town.
